How does the battlepass affect how you enjoy the game? It's purely cosmetics which most if not all will be released on the store after 6 months.

The only thing in this game that affects gameplay is the DLC.

If you don't wish to buy it enjoy the free stuff. The battlepass is a want for some if they like the cosmetics but its never a need.

This, Plus peantis has already said that all the lore and challenges will always be free for everyone, so you don't even loose out on that. I was upset at the battle pass as well, but since it's purely cosmetics, most which will be available anyways, there is really no need too be mad about it. If you don't want it, then fine, just don't buy it and enjoy the fun challenges.

  • I agree, new Nurse is still a really good killer, she just takes a lot of practice since everything is new with her, so the muscle memory needs too change with it.

  • @beatddb said:

If these Nurses changes go through, all people will see at red ranks will be Spirit, which means she will eventually get a """slight change""". SWF will dominate red ranks and killers playing something else instead of Spirit will get destroyed.

If this happens but Spirit does not get her """slight change""" like the nurse, people will start using the anti spirit build (Iron will, spine chill, etc) making her a little girl with a shiny stick.

And thats how you nerf the two reliable killers in one change. Good luck killing someone at red ranks

Pretty dramatic title, but Nurse is still strong, she is just not number 1 anymore. It'll take some time for people too get use too new Nurse, but she won't be gone from Red Ranks anytime soon. And even if she was gone, we still have Freddy, Billy, Hag, and Huntress.

The Archives section of it (the bit with challenges) is free and available to everyone, though. Even if you don't care about anything in the free track of The Rift, you get bloodpoints for completing the challenges.

If you don't feel like it's worth it, that's okay, you do not need to buy it. We don't want to force you to. It's 100% optional and does not impact the rest of the game in any way.

Oh, I actually didn't know that. Thats pretty cool tbh.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

Unnecessary change to Nurse's base-kit. It would have been enough to change some of her add-ons.

Insta-heals got slightly changed, but they are still very useful.

    Looking forward to the Archives.

This is how I feel as well. Nurse base kit changes nerfed her so bad. I feel bad for Nurse mains now.

@not_Queen dont hate me please, i didnt mean to tag not_queef lol does anyone on the dev-team have any answer for this?

A: If they didn't release it it was probably for a reason, idk what that reason is though

B: You can edit posts, so you can change Not_Queef too Queen.

The most successful online games out there are almost all subscription based in wich you pay $60 for the game $15 a month and they still have cosmetics pets and so on to buy in micro transactions , and every expansion for them are another $60 not counting the monthly . Now granted they are hosting millions of players but they also have a lot more devs and so on .

I have played this game just fine without certain killers , actualy it wasn't until the sale with Stranger things that I bought ash , plague , ghostface , and legion dlc's along with the stranger things and I think it all cost me about $25 . The game can be played fine without the dlc's you just have to watch the shrine for perks you cant earn from leveling a killer or survivor you don't have . And its always best to wait for a sale , seems like they run them about every month at around 50% off . That isn't saying don't support the devs , its just being a smart consumer .

Whether or not you buy the DLC's, it doesn't change the fact that it IS over 100$ of DLC's. Even if you waited for a sale, it will still cost you a pretty penny. And it still doesn't include the Cosmetic shop.

Are you kidding? First of all, the "Big Three" are Spirit, Nurse, and Billy. Spirit can be bought with shards, which you get for playing the game. On top of that, the Shrine exists for a reason. Let's look at the meta perks: Ruin (Free), Enduring (Free), BBQ (Shrine), Spirit Fury (Shrine or buy Spirit with shards). I'm stating the typical build I see suggested on killers (maybe Whispers but that's base game).

You do not NEED the DLC to beat rank 10's or under. The shrine exists for a reason and anyways 2 of the meta perks are free, you just have to level the killers up. On top of that, 2 of the top 3 killers are free, and the 3rd isn't even licensed so she can be bought with the FREE CURRENCY in the game.

I'm not blaming you for buying the DLC or anything but don't complain that you "need" it because you know that's B.S.

You do though. yes, you can buy the characters with in game curreny, but that doesn't mean the game doesn't incentives you too buy them. BBQ, Ruin, Spirit Fury, Pop Goes, Dying Light, and Monitor are all really strong perks for killers, and all you need too buy a character for. How realistic is it to spend months grinding out shards too get these killers, and then spend MORE time grinding them out? It isn't, the game incentives you too buy them so the grind is lower.

Plus, what if someone doesn't like playing the "Big Three?" If they are going too play a weak killer then they will def need the strongest perks possible, which means a lot of money needs to be spent just to have the best chance against them.

  • Yea and they suck as bad as the live ones.

As for Nurse, I've only played her for a few games, but she feels so bad too play. her addons are fine for the most part, but they didn't do a "light change" too her base kit, it's a massive overhaul and it really hurt her. not having the second blink in most chases makes her struggle too catch people. Most chases where you miss the second blink will require you too walk towards the survivor has he gets away and then blink again. If they increased her Movement speed in accordance with the fatigue + blink cooldown then she would be fine, but now I find her worse then Spirit now.

  • Normally, yes. But the game alone is 20-30$ and over 100$ worth of DLC, which you need too have a chance against survivors past rank 10, and this doesn't even include the cosmetics. If DLC's actually felt like extra content and not needed content then sure, but 10$ every month for such an already expensive game is greedy.

  • I agree, but I hate the fact it's a 10$ battle pass, in a 20-30$ game, with over 100$ of DLC, which doesn't even include skins. The greed is real.

  • @KidDope25 said:

Can we stop giving Meg ugly cosmetics? Outfits and hair style suck. Also how come no Halloween cosmetic for her? Dwight and Claudette have one. With Jake getting one I assumed Meg would have got one too. Disappointed

Agreed. If it's not ugly too sin it's another athletic cosmetic. When will she get a nice Dress?

  • @Blackadder said:

But it's still a battle pass in a game that costs money. I would like to have hoped the devs were better than this, but I guess not.

Yea, the devs are incredibly greedy too have a 20-30$ game, over 100$ of DLC, AND now a battle pass that costs another 10$. I'm not surprised, but I am disapointed.

Insta heals got nerfed because of whiny killers but the Nurse update is bad huh? How about this READ THE ADDONS THEY ARE RIDICULOUS WITH CERTAIN BUILDS. Those complaining about Nurses being "nerfed" are usually the trash players and Nurse mains are dancing in Joy because they got some serious add-ons now that they can use to destroy a four man team. Yet Insta heals got nerfed and not a single thread on that huh? In that case get rid of Noed get rid of insta downs, get rid of anything that insta downs a survivors since we can't have our medkits. If that's the case that's more of this fanbase gone already. Pathetic.

Insta heals were broken bs crutches survivors used for free escapes, even if they messed up. Thank god they are nerfed because they are incredibly unfun too fight as killer.

  • @Omans said:

    The legion part: absolutely not.

"let the Deep Wounds Timer go down in the Terror Radius" - never again. Ever.

Other stuff doesn't look too bad. A bit odd that you say demo is perfectly fine but freddy could use an adjustment. Freddy is looking really strong as is.

Why would it not go down in the Terror Radius? I didn't say it would go down in a chase, but Deep Wounds needs too be a threat instead of a minor inconvenience. You shouldn't be mending in the middle of the open because the killer is nearby, and thus it makes it pointless.

  • Mine have been. It's really not uncommon too see a yellow or green ranked survivor.

  • There is a cooldown, but it comes in the form of the snare setting up. So if a survivor is running on a snare just placed it won't activate. And besides, the traps aren't meant for use during a chase, they are meant for preparing for a survivor too enter that loop.

  • Why can't we get a 10 foot tall Chucky costume like the first movie? That is the actual nightmare fuel.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Sure they can,

by making it so people who keep DCing aren't allowed access to the game anymore.

Yep, but this could also backfire if someone has bad internet and crashes a lot. I've lost my fair share of addons and offerings because the game stopped loading and crashed.

  • @WaffleFalafel said:

They probably have experienced easier games due to the new SWF matchmaking, so they're back to having fun with weaker killers again.

Fact: most of my red ranked games are SWF, but 1-2 people are in green or yellow rank. I once saw a rank 20, poor baby. He didn't make it.

  • I agree 100%. Keys are complete bs now because it's a literal free escape with no consequences. There really shouldn't have been a reason too remove hatch grabs, and adding it back in would fix keys.

  • @ahandfulofrain said:

I don't disagree but then again... moris, prayer beads, omegablink, etc.

This is not even an answer. No one should be forced too play a certain way just because of an unfair mechanic in the game. The devs simply need too add hatch grabs back, and keys won't be so overwhelming. Anytime I see a survivor with a key I always tunnel them so I don't have too worry about someone escaping for free when they did nothing (happens a lot).

what about hag? also, Doc will likely be getting the next add on rework, and they've said they're looking at Leatherface and Pig as well. they're slow to buff killers yes, but they have and are going to do it.

But it shouldn't take years like it has with Freddy. And just because they say they are looking into them doesn't mean they will. They said that Hitboxes are being looked into, and yet nothing has been done about them.

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/739004#Comment_739004

Prayer beads are stupidly strong I agree, but I feel all killers have something similar like iri hatchets or clown’s pinky finger... also survivors have insta heals and keys so addons are a different topic entirely

But those strong addons are, at least, Ultra Rare. Prayer Beads is only 6k and you're guranteed 3-4 purple items a bloodweb at level 50. And Pinky Finger and Iri hatchets have some form of counterplay, Prayer Beads require you too gen tap, and you're still gonna loose a hit point anyways from it, so you might of well have been grabbed anyways.

How fair is the game for Leatherface, Clown, etc I assume this means those killers should be buffed and it’s a priority just like nerfing spirit?

Yes actually. Clown, Bubba, Legion, Wraith, ect are in desperate need for buffs too make them somewhat useful at red ranks.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/739006#Comment_739006

Same for you. Poor mentality to spread lies like Killers dont get Buffs.

They don't. Killers really don't get buffs.

1: It took almost 2 years for Freddy too get a rework.

2: Legion got massive nerfs and hasn't been touched since despite the communty begging for it.

3: Bubba is pretty much useless unless you're basement camping.

4: Trapper is still not that good a killer and he's one of the three original

6: Wraith is too easy too spot even without Object unless on a small map, even if he does sneak up on someone he only can get 1 hit in before he has too enter Pallet Town.

7: Pig is just an M1 killer with traps that sometimes slow the game, but usually will get pulled off in the first or second box.

8: Doc's shock has a really bad delay that make's it's one good niche null.

8: Clown can't put pressure down too save his life.

All these killers need buffs, and they have needed them for a while, but still the devs refuse too touch them because they don't want to make the low ranks mad. It's not lies, it's facts. Killer's do not get buffs even when they need them.

  • IMO Diversion is in a fine spot ATM. It's a niche perk, and that's why you don't see it often, but it isn't bad.

  • After how many years of begging? Stop being snarky.

  • @Bravo0413 said:

That's not the case... spirit rewards you for playtime which should be the case...

I disagree. Spirit is pretty easy once you understand how her power works, which won't take long. Spirit rewards you for being unpredictable and that's just not fun too fight IMO. I like base Spirit, but the addons make her so strong it becomes just luck if you survive or not.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Better more Nerfs than too less Nerfs. This way they can start buffing Legion.

Old Legion is one thing I will never miss. He was not even good, he was able to chase one person down, while losing the game because it took so long and he had no Map Pressure at all. He was basically a Nurse in one aspect (ignoring Survivor Defenses), but thats it.

I also think that removing FF on a Miss was a good thing. It was not scary at all, it just looked dumb. And it was kinda braindead to have like Unrelenting over 9000, to be able to miss like 5 times to get Hit Number 6 in.

This would work, if the devs actually buffed Legion. They refuse too buff killers because, IMO, they fear the backlash for it. They just need too balance the game for red ranks and buff weak killers like Legion and Bubba.

  • @Aztreonam78 said:

Maybe stop and it’s time to change priorities?

The game doesn’t need more dlc’s, there are more than enough stuff the most part of which still waiting for any attention. Rly..

And add some features which will improve the game by itself? Like survivors uniqueness, more game mods, etc.

I wanted this for a while. BHVR just keeps pumping DLC after DLC that adds a reskined survivor and a Killer that isn't red rank viable. My opinion is that they need too have weekly updates, but cut DLC's from 4 a year too 2, that way theres more time for both internal testing and for better QoL for the game.

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/738764#Comment_738764

So good spirits can fool you and bad ones are easy to counter, seems like a good power level

No, if a strong Spirit is incredibly hard, if not impossible too counter, then there is a problem. The game should be fair for both sides, not completely one sided like Spirit is right now.

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/738513#Comment_738513

For the first couple loops, yes.

But after that, you establish a pattern of behavior and start working around it.

Not with good Spirits. good Spirits will mix up their mindgames, and make it impossible too predict their movements.

  • @Hex_KillerMainBTW said:

I now noticed a lot of negativity towards the spirit. But the question is why? Is it because she's good and has an actual snowball chance to take down a 4 stack SWF? She's not that over powered, she just has good mobility. She can't even get over a window while using her ability. Sure she has good tracking abilities, but there's good survivor perks to counter it. Iron will, so on and so on. She isn't even that oppressive... A good nurse is oppressive and any killer who's good at the killer can still win games.

So what's going to be next? Plague? Any killer that actually can do a decent job?

My problem with Spirit is that I find her incredibly unfun too fight. Her power is fine base, but once you start adding Addons it just becomes a chore and a half. I sometimes feel it's complete luck if I get away from a Spirit instead of it being from actual skill/mindgames.

And Prayer beads just needs too be deleted. It's completely overpowered and no side should be forced too use a perk just too counter a build you may not even run into on a killer you may not face.

  • 1: Legion

    2: Demogorgon

    3: Freddy

    4: Doctor

    5: Plague

  • Jesus, chill for a second before starting a discussion. This seems more like angry ranting then a coherent discussion. Very simply, you prob should of told them that they would be fighting red ranked killers. SWF goes for the highest ranked person too match a killer with, so you kinda have it on you for bringing 3 new people into the strongest killers.

Secondly, It matches based on highest rank because SWF would abuse the matchmaking system and bully low ranked killers for free bloodpoints.

Thirdly, If you are getting non stop face campers and tunnelers that just sounds like bad luck. I run into one of these, like, between 5-6 games usually.

  • Ultra rare addons aren't meant too be useful sometimes, look at Demogorgon's leprose Lichen. It's pretty useless, but it has niche use on certain builds. I use Black Box with the Jump Rope and pretty much make the obsession useless.

Edit: If you want a useless Freddy addon, look at Z block. It's so bad and not even close too being worth 6k bloodpoints.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

Why is this the case? These changes are not hard. Perks like Bond, Kindred, and Empathy could be built in, and killers could be buffed around this. I'm incredibly tired of being hooked and seeing 2 or 3 other survs hop off gens to come get me. Do I really need to waste a perk spot for Kindred every time?

Making perks Base is a dangerous slope, as you never know how strong it would be until it's implemented. Red rank survivors usually never do this, so I must ask what rank you are at? At red ranks survivors are (usually) good about not having 3 people rushing a hooked person.

  • @PrincessPoop said:

And if there is one would it be before or after the Halloween event? I know there aren’t even official dates for anything yet, but I’m guessing the event will last at least half of October which means we would have to get the PTB in the first half of the month, or wait until November since it wouldn’t make sense to run a PTB during an event. What you guys think?

Yes, there is always a PTB for Chapters and Mid Chapters.

  • @MiniPixels said:

We need this desperately, it is way too strong when you have an entire team on coms that know your location, what your doing, who your chasing at all times. Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Object really isn't the problem here, it's more a SWF problem. My idea is just have a Quick Match and Ranked be separate, and have 3-4 man SWF on Quick Match, but Ranked is only 2 people in a group, that way it's still strong for SWF, but not gamebreaking like it is now.

  • I like the idea for Stab Wounds Study, but Franks Mixtape change wouldn't be that helpful, because how many times as Legion do you actually miss with Feral Frenzy? IMO a better Franks Mixtape would be to simply have it base, and leave the current Franks Mixtape be, so it's actually useful and not just a really bad purple Item.

  • yea this happened too me as Wraith long before EGC. Game lasted almost an hour because they did this same thing. Report them too BHVR support so they get banned, and make a habit of checking the basement if 1-2 people are trying too hold the game hostage.

  • @DrVeloxcity said:

As of now, no one considers Deep Wounds or Mending to be very risky. The timers do not deplete while in a chase or within the terror radius, and perks such as Sloppy Butcher, aura reading perks such as A Nurse's Calling and radius proximity perks such as Coulrophobia do not affect mending.

    My idea is simple.

It doesn't break the power, but it makes mending slightly more risky and it incorporates the new status effect: Oblivious.

My idea is: Whenever a survivor begins to mend, the survivor suffers from the Oblivious status effect for the duration of the mend. The oblivious status effect remains active for 2 seconds after finishing mending or cancelling the mending action.

What do you guys think? Something like this could potentially be helpful to Legion and/or make Borrowed Time more risky.

Honestly I like it. It would give Legion the massive buff he needs, but doesn't make him completely broken.

  • @Pulsar said:

He's just...not that great. He's like a worse version of Hag and Billy.

I wouldn't say that, the problem is that he's just not red rank viable. I honestly put him higher then Hag and lower then Billy. The problem comes in the fact your only gen pressure comes in the form of a portal that is not hidden at all.

Another reason could be that people are waiting for the perfect Demo build too crop up too use him at red ranks. Because not much has come out for strong Demo builds.

  • I can't even see the totem. I don't see the issue here.

  • @Mister_xD said:

    wait...

    that is still a thing?

    why?

    devs? why?

It still happens on the new badham maps as well. Theres a totem that spawn not even a foot away from a gen, and it's in plain sight. It's horrible.

  • No, its a perk that rewards a killer against lazy survivors.

  • Plague for me. I haven't seen one in a long time. I don't understand why, she is a lot better then people give her credit for.

  • @Awakey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/734213#Comment_734213

It's not the Killer's job to make sure you have fun, it's their job to sacrifice you, and I'd say Spirit does a damn good job of that.

How incredibly biased this is. People should play both sides for a reason. By your logic, gen rushing is completely fine because it's the survivors job to do gens.

    @Awakey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/734874#Comment_734874

    "Prayer Beads have no counterplay"

    A. Spine chill, a perk I run every match bc it's so damn useful

    B. Tap the gens

    C. Be observant of nearby crows.

A: No one should be forced too use a perk because of a broken addon, just change the addon.

B: Gen tapping takes even more time then too hold m1, plus you get less bloodpoints if everyone is tapping. Again, just change the addon.

C: Spirit doesn't disturb crows when phasing, nor does she disturb grass.

1 … 20 21 22 23 24 … 32
