  • 60 seconds is pretty long in terms of how fast some games can be but thankfully the stun time can be reduced by enduring, not a total counter but a lot better than what we had before.

It's going to suck end game for sure since 60 seconds in end game is huge.

Probably because most survivors have huge stockpiles of items from BloodWebs and the new Chests. God I wish the killer add ons I use regularly were as abundant so i could stick to a build i like.

The winter bloodwebs for Killers should have stayed like how the increased item rarity from chests did, but I wouldn't be surprised if Survivors whined their asses off and review bombed the game until the Killer bloodwebs were reverted back to normal.

I was 100% expecting them to keep those bloodwebs, Kind of dissapointing that they didn't even ackowledge the positive feedback from killers but went ahead and added in the rarity increase in chests since survivors liked it.

  • I'd love a way to get more add ons, It's insane how much BP you have to spend to keep the same build going.

  • If the Killers face camping they are wasting time and throwing the game.
If the entity forced killers away that'd just brake the game, How is a killer supposed to patrol if they suspect someones there?
There's plenty of times a Killer will need to patrol the area around the hook because they know another survivor is there, either due to guessing by BBQ auras, seeing them earlier or scratchmarks.

  • Probably because most survivors have huge stockpiles of items from BloodWebs and the new Chests. God I wish the killer add ons I use regularly were as abundant so i could stick to a build i like.

  • Well yes, that's how hit boxes work.

You realize if the weapon model was to actual hit the survivor model for a hit to register It'd be near impossible to get a hit off on a moving target.

  • I don't think they're trying to sway killers into playing by those made up rules but I do think they're aware of those things, on both sides that the others deem unfun and are bringing in perks to help combat it, Which is a good thing.
If the Devs were to ever go by those rules and enforce them the game would be over. Patrolling, tunneling and slugging to survivors it can feel scummy but to killers It's sometimes it's the only option and the smarter decision if you want to play efficiently just like gen rushing and looping.

  • I'll only dodge if I'm playing wraith and I see more than one, Anyone else I'm fine with but Sucks that he can be bullied by flashlights so easily.

  • Strange that there hasn't been any streams or new info on the DLC, They've been very quiet lately about everything apart from the DS change.

I'm Hope PTB is this Tuesday but who knows...

  • I mean there's already the Hook spawn Change, breakdown, Saboing hooks and Body blocking that make hooking that little bit more difficult. I think wiggling free should be a rarity so increasing wiggle time would be a no go in my opinion.

  • I believe so yep

and you wanna tell me, reducing this more would be ok? no chance they must adjust those numbers

A Perk countering a Perk, the horror :scream:
The 3 second stun needs to stay just that, If there's no counter to the new DS it'll be a free escape on pickup for not just one but all 4 survivors now.

If you're really worried about enduring there's options, bring Dead hard to dodge the first swing or sprint burst.

Ds and Mori have no correlation to each other.

DS finally having prerequisites doesn't effect Moris in any way, What the new DS changes is the use of DS to something more balanced.

Tell me how to use ds when you just got hooked against a mori?
    *T H E R E S * no chance

That's like saying Mori is a counter to every End game perk...

  • It's obviously a Nerf but that's only because old DS was so stupidly broken  It's still super strong, especially end game.

  • Ds and Mori have no correlation to each other.

DS finally having prerequisites doesn't effect Moris in any way, What the new DS changes is the use of DS to something more balanced.

  • It's a nightmare trying to track on this map.

By the way are scratch marks still bugged? I swear they spray of in all sorts of directions that the survivor isn't even going, Might just be me tho.

  • Exactly! I don't understand people saying it's going to be useless, It's still a very strong perk.

This is why they can't touch the 3 second stun time, Enduring is the only sure way to counter the new DS, and even still they have a chance to get away, If not then it's basically a buff and free escapes end game when combined with BT and/or adrenaline if the killer doesn't have rancor.

The New DS is great, It's finally balanced and is an anti tunneling perk, It's the best it can be without being too powerful again. It's still a very good perk.

No, it isn't, it has too many counters and you have to keep in mind, that killer are already overpowered, so what's the point of using DS now?

That was the exact reason why old DS was so broken, It was a very OP perk with no risk and high reward, a second chance at the expense of the killer for doing their objective with no counter.
It's still a second chance escape but now it has prerequisites and a counter, It's Balanced. If it were to not have a time limit like you said that'd be incredibly broken, Just have to be hooked once to use DS for all 4 survivors, It'd be worse than the old DS.

As for the point of it now, It is to stop tunneling, so if you feel like that's going to or has been happening to you then run it.

  • I'm sure they're doing everything they can, It's hurting them as much as it's hurting us.

  • @MegsAreEvil said:
Why do the Devs promote slugging with this change? Killers are just free to behave as toxic as possible with this change. Nothing will change at all.

It really doesn't. That's why the obsession only shows after you use DS. Killer wont know who does and doesn't have DS so If the Killer is slugging everyone fresh of a hook for a full minute before picking up they're just throwing the game.

  • The New DS is great, It's finally balanced and is an anti tunneling perk, It's the best it can be without being too powerful again. It's still a very good perk.

  • I can see how it's an issue in solo since it'd be hard to keep count but that's even more reason to do dull totems. Majority of the player base is SWF, If your using voice there's literally no excuse for not doing dull totems.

    There's a reason it's a powerful perk, It's counterable and outright preventable.

  • I'd argue the red stain needs to get looked at first, on Low settings you can see which direction the killer is going trough the walls but Yeah I wouldn't mind terror radius decrease on some killers that rely on sneaking up on unsuspecting survivors.

  • Keys are hard to see in the lobby of the persons wearing dark clothes but you can tell by the hand position.

Maybe they got them from chests? The new chest give higher rarity items I've been seeing a lot more keys from chests.

  • Soon™? Let's hope for the 26th!

I'd actually say it'll be next Tuesday If i had to guess. I'm sure they want feedback on the new DS change and it'll be part of the PTB.
But another part of me think it wont since there's been nothing teased on the next DLC unless they do it sometime in the next few days?

  • I think the change is great!

I'm not totally sure about the whole obsession changing but I'll see how it plays out once the PTB goes live. I don't usually run obsession perks anyways.

  • Oh God, Imagine DS, BT and Adrenaline :scream:

I Suppose you could counter with Noed, Rancor and Enduring tho.

  • A Perk that gives you a second chance like DS out of the killers hands needs to have some form of counter, This is what made the old DS so broken.

If the New DS didn't have any counter then it'd still be a broken perk especially since now everyone running it can use it right away. The fact that enduring can somewhat counter it is what makes the new DS finally balanced.

  • Both do but I'd lean more on the side of killers because they have a lot more issue in the game, If it weren't for SWF i'd say survivors.

I feel like that's all this game is sometimes, even when watching any streamer it's 80% of the time just complaining about the game.

  • Oh Come on, Why is everyone going crazy because of DS finally becoming balanced. Don't pretend it wasn't stupidly broken for over 2 years. It's still going to be a very strong perk.

There's Things on both sides that could use a nerf Instaheals, syringes, Keys, Hatch, Gen times, Moris, Certain Killer's add ons.... and let's not even get into SWF

hopefully after this this change bad killers and survivors will learn to play and will stop to complain about literally everything.

Well I am still gonna complain about NOED, which helps noob killers rank up to a place where they don't belong and than feel the game is not balanced and come to the forums to complain to the devs with unrealistic remarks.

Q&A on DS has said their not considering changing NOED since it already has Counters in game. They said the new DS and NOED are on the same level now which i agree with.

  • I mean I suppose it is a nerf to gen rush but also a buff to Gen times in general depending on how you look at it since the Killer is constantly switching targets.
Let's assume everybody runs DS now that means the Killer has a choice to Slug, take the DS or Switch targets to a healthy survivor and start a new chase all over, all of which take time away from the Killer doing their objective and into the hands of survivors's. Healing only takes 16 seconds at base compared to however long a chase can be and that's without considering adrenaline, and perks/add ons that boost healing speed.

And I agree Endgame is going to be hell for a killer if everyone saves their DS till the end.

  • Thank you for the answers! Very Helpful.
I really like the new DS. It's still strong, but at least now It's got somewhat of a counter with enduring. I don't think you should consider increasing the stun time, I think it's fine where it is. There needs to be some form of counter otherwise It's going to be a sure perk for everyone with no risk of a counter like it was before.

The old DS was a free reset button for the survivors at the expense of the killer for doing their objective, The new one helps to prevent tunneling from the hook giving you a full minute which in this game is a very long time to use DS if you get downed after being hooked. Finally it feels somewhat balanced with having to be unhooked or unhooking yourself first but don't get me wrong, It's still a pain for killers.
If the Killer gets you of the hook he wont know if you have DS and if you do you still get that Reset button and a second chance, Not to mention all survivors in the trial now have the same level of DS so if the killer goes for an injured survivor over a healthy one one minute from them being unhooked it's a huge time waste and loss of momentum.

If all survivors run the new DS, without slugging most of the 14 killers are going to have a very hard time against a SWF team with that perk, At least with enduring they can minimize this even tho that wastes another killers perk slot along with others like Hex: Ruin that are a Necessity. Giving a higher stun time to make enduring less of a counter would be a bad idea in my opinion. With how much a single DS never mind 4, can crush a killers momentum there needs to be a perk like enduring to help make it bearable.

  • EVERY. GOD. DAMN. GAME.

Not only is it so hard to see on that map, it's so damn yellow it hurts. Not to mention that the corn is blinding and the survivors can see you trough the walls of the loops.

  • I Think the lower stun time is needed, Enduring doesn't completely counter it but it will help a lot.
If they readjust the new stun times, then DS becomes a huge time wasting perk either having to slug, let them get away and go for someone healthy or pick up and have to chase all over again, and this time it's a guarantee for everyone running it not just the obsession.
That's a huge loss of time and momentum for a killer in a game where Killers are already under a time crunch with gens.

  • Yep the obsession now jumps between whoever used DS last.

I assume they'll have to rework Obsession perks now. Like how is Rancor and Dying light going to work?

  • I like the changes, The only thing I don't like is the obsession changing throughout the match I can see how that would get confusing.

I don't watch this guy and I do agree with some points he made like Bugs and hitboxes but did he really just admit to Deranking when he has 5000 hours in the game knowing full well it ruins the experience for the other side?

Play time or Devotion need to come into play when it comes to match making, people like him are ruining the game for newer or casual players.

He and every other deranker just need to get banned. Problem solved.

They really should. I'm surprised they haven't started banning for Deranking, so many people openly admit it too.

  • The Grind is insane, It feels Tedious trying to get certain perks on someone. I want to P3 my spirit but I remember how much I'd actually have to play just to do that and then having to get all the perks again, Just not worth it.
Wouldn't be as bad if we could refund things we don't want from our inventory for half the price we paid in BP or just if BP were easier to gain.

  • I like the distortion in Spirits voice.

Adam sounds like a cutie

  • 2v8 Mode
Buff/Nerf Killers to all be Viable at higher ranks and rework their Add ons so nothings too OP.
    Remove or rework DS
Do something to close the gaps between Solo, Killers and SWF.
    Crack down more on toxicity.

There's probably a lot more but those are the main things I'd do.

  • I don't have it but I don't think it's ever been updated, So i'd say yes it still gets in the way. It has anti gravity physics so sways all sorts of ways and depending on how you move it can obscure parts of your FOV.

I always wondered how cosmetics like her dress and wraiths new weapon get the go ahead when they end up blocking your screen in game.

  • Sure, You have the right to DC if you're not having fun but just know that Picking and choosing which killers you play against just hurts the game, If people keep DCing against legion because he's OP and unfun what happens when killers DC at the same rate against any SWF because of the same reasons?

The whole mentality of DCing because your not having fun doesn't work when the fact of the matter is that in this Game the Fun you have most of the time comes at the other sides expense.

  • I heard Original but i forgot where from :dizzy:

  • I Don't think the game is Dying, I feel like it is struggling to retain constant growth though.
This could be down to a lot of different factors but I feel like the main problem lies with Killer designs.
The game itself is very repetitive, same objectives every game but certain killers can change how these objectives are played out, sadly a lot of them aren't designed to be viable at higher ranks which then leads to the same Killers being used in higher ranks.

Lack of killer Viability means lack of Variety in Killers and with that game styles depending on the killer. Facing the same top tier killers over and over is bound to get stale. If the other killers could put up the same fight or if everyone was on a level playing field the game would feel a lot less repetitive.

  • I Hope they give us something on the new Killer I hate legion so it feels like forever since I've been excited for a new killer, Been almost 6 months since spirit

The complete silence though makes me think it's ptb next week and teaser sometime this week with DLC coming in march.

  • From what I noticed since the last patch I could pick up a survivors around the corner of a pallet and still be stunned if anything I'd say it's gotten easier for pallet saves.

  • Not playing against a killer you don't like is what's going to kill this game, If that ideology keeps spreading nobody will play a game unless they know they're winning. Legion? DC, Decisive? DC, SWF? DC the list could go on and on.

As for the two you picked, Both are weak killers.

Freddy If you hear his song you either run or hide. Freddy has to pull you into his dream before he can even hit you, this is what makes him such a weak killer. Yes he has aura reading in the dream state but that's easily countered by failing a skill check to wake up, he then has to hunt you down again and pull you into a dream again and wastes a lot of time doing that.
Doc on the other hand his power is supposed to help him find survivors and prevent looping but looping is his weakest point, unless you shock at the right time he gets stomped by a good loop or pallet.

  • Depends on the situation, most of the time it's a form of taunting the killer so it's up to you if you think that's toxic or not.
