  • Honestly these kinds of players need bans, If only to teach them a lesson.
If it's okay to DC against a killer you don't enjoy then what if Killers starts DCing once they see DS?

  • Of course they're Pro Voice, I'm a Killer main and I'm pro voice. Letting people play with their friends benefits the game so much and keeps it alive. It's the fact that voice brakes the game balance completely that's the issue not with voice itself.

They know about Voice and know SWF are a Majority of players but they balance the game around solo. Why? I have no Idea :dizzy:

  • You know there's an indicator that tells you the Ping while your in the lobby and you have the choice to leave any lobby? If the Pings High just leave.....

Ping might be bad for you but better for survivors closer to the killer.

  • I Generally only play one or two games a day too lately but even now the past 2 or 3 weeks I've been playing less and less. Killer can be very stressful a lot of the time.

I'm going to take a brake till the next DLC or PTB so I can enjoy it with a fresh mindset.

@Bongbingbing It's worse as an endgame perk because it guarentees a free escape.

My suggestion from the oher thread - PTB, no NOED/DS/Adrenaline.

See what the feedback is and whether players prefer it.

The devs tested the garbage self-care so they should be able to test this too.

Oh I agree, It'd still be completely broken but at least it would prevent 3+ gen loops.
I'd gladly say goodbye to NOED if DS and adrenaline go with it but problem is if they did this there would be outrage from people who use those perks which is a lot and the devs wouldn't keep the change. :unamused:

  • I keep seeing the same argument made in defense of DS that Killers 'made mistakes'.
Isn't that the whole thing that brakes DS It rewards the survivor a second chance for a mistake and a slap in the face for a killer who did the right thing.

I Didn't realize Killers had to play like robots and make no mistakes  and not to mention the effect a killer has on the match is hugely reliant on the survivors mistakes.

Anyone who defends DS is obviously Biased.

  • DS needs to be an end game perk at least then it'd be on the same level of broken as NOED.

I don't see any changes happening to it anytime soon, I Hope I'm wrong but judging by past experiences It'd be a long shot.

Thankfully dedicated servers are coming, Nintendo consoles don't usually have the best Wifi

You do realize that that changes nothing, its still a multiplayer game and with bad wifi you will be screwed

It'll change the Killer's host connection, at least if someone lags it'll be on them alone.

  • I swear some people in this game's community are so Hostile, You realize killer or survivor we're all playing the same game?

Express your frustrations sure but to resort to calling someone Insecure and suicidal is immature.

  • Thankfully dedicated servers are coming, Nintendo consoles don't usually have the best Wifi

  • Camping as terrible as it is a strategy for some people, a Bad one but still.
If you're being face camped, The others should be doing gens. The Killer is essentially throwing the game, Don't reward that with more kills.
Survivors will swarm a hook when someones being face camped and that just makes the strategy even more useful for people who play like this.

If you're talking about Patrolling the areas around the hook, I can't help you there. If a killer thinks there is someone around the hook from not showing on BBQ or other reasons they're not going to walk away into nowhere and give a free safe unhook, That'd just be stupid.

I heard somewhere that PTB is next week, I doubt it tho since nothing solid is being teased.

We got legion and their map pics around 20th of November so maybe they'll do the same for February? I hope so cause right now all we have to go by is That Instagram video of a door closing and the fact that this Killer will be the Oldest so far, and Honestly that isn't getting me excited in the slightest

If it is next week it's 100% normal to not know yet.

If we don't have a chapter teaser video/image like the spirit door close/legion looking in the mirror/kate by a camp fire ones by the end of today then yeah it's not next week.

I think it's the 26th tbh with the teaser next week personally.

    Let's hope you're right :+1: I'm desperate for a new killer.

  • I'm pretty sure they're aware of the SWF Issue but are choosing to ignore it. That or they are working on a solution but wont let the community know which would also be a terrible move since It's brought up all day every day only to not be acknowledged.

There's been countless suggestions on the forums for years now but the only one we've gotten after so long is the hidden perks/add ons at end game which I'm grateful for, It shows they do listen. Now they need to keep that up and do a hell of a lot more.
I'm not going to suggest nerfing SWF because we all know the uproar that would cause, and besides people shouldn't be punished for playing with friends. But at the same time the Killer and solo survivors shouldn't be punished either at put at a disadvantage just because most players choose to play in groups.

SWF is a necessity for the game, People want to play with friends. The days of Balancing the game around Solo in mid ranks are gone, the devs need to realize this. We already know it's very easy to rank up and we already know a group is stronger than the killers except 1 or 2. When SWF is the majority it's time to start looking at the other two player bases and buffing accordingly.

  • Last Year was Hyped so much but I don't see it dethroning DBD, I'll admit It's a fun game tho.

But we should welcome any competition to DBD.

  • I heard somewhere that PTB is next week, I doubt it tho since nothing solid is being teased.

  • That soon? Hopefully the killer map is interesting, I wish they'd tease a bit more since so far all we have is that teaser which gave nothing

  • As Tag said the only mandatory things survivors have to do is Gens and Open the Gates the rest is situational and optional.

The Main reason Killers and Survivors want additional objectives is because those mandatory ones can be done in such little time.

  • Don't let it bother you you made the logical choice, Who cares if they call it camping. Same goes for tunneling, If someone's injured already and you decide to go for them over a person fully healed, you make the smarter decision as a killer.

You don't see survivors stopping gens if they think it's going too fast for the killer.

  • I used to main Wraith but since he's not designed to be viable at Higher Ranks you kind of have a choice of end up plateauing with how well you can do against survivors or switch to one of the 4 higher tier killers.

After rank reset There's more variety of who you can choose and still do well with which is nice, shame it's not the case all the time.

  • Has there been word from anyone on the Community or Devs teams about this? I see it all the time.

That's because it's nigh impossible to prevent friends from communicating over the internet. That's what makes SWF unfair, and why the game was technically designed for no communication (it even fits into the lore; no noise to give yourself away). But to change the actual game to give yourself an advantage is cheating plain and simple. You can wear headphones, and you can turn the volume up.

Sorry I like to keep my ears on account of the obnoxious music and pallet breaking sounds

The games sounds are broken and have been for a while

    >

I have to agree here, If it weren't for sounds being constantly broken I'd say not to do it but we only recently got footsteps back after a very long time and they're still softer than before they were taken out.

Who knows when or if sounds will ever be at a decent place, Until that's the case I wouldn't blame you for adjusting the sounds yourself since there's no option in game.

  • Nurse is OP only in the right hands, It takes a lot to be a good nurse.

  • Maybe? but who could blame you with how hard those sounds are to hear.

Just don't use weak killers. Pig is garbage, everytime you try to use stealth the survivors give each other a heads up on the mic.

Guess it's Nurse/Billy for everyone.....but then they intend to nerf Nurse so guess it's Hillbilly: The Game.

All other killers are too slow so voice comms hurt them more.

Isn't it sad that we have so many killers but only a few are actually viable?

Why bother purchasing new killers if they get the Freddy treatment after a week?

Survivors get what they want. Killers get told to play survivor or civ.

At this point we should bother that much about new killers but keep our defence up so our nurse and billy won't get nerfed. That's all we have.. I know, it's boring to have only 2 really viable killer to combat 99% of survivors (if the skill is there obviously) but at least we got something. My biggest fear is a nurse and billy nerf and lately I heard a lot of people saying that billy will get nerfed

If they nerf Billy or Nurse without even touching SWF I think that'd be the braking point for me.

Personally I dont use either of them but It's already a shame that if you want a fair game your forced to play one of those two out of the 14 killers, Such a waste. Having majority of your killers be knowingly and designed to be weaker seems counter productive.

  • Most Casual players would I believe.
As much as I despise the SWF Imbalance It's a needed feature for almost all online multiplayer games. The Answer isn't to remove or hinder SWF, They really need to buff solo and killers to the same level.

  • It will for sure turn Killers away from the game.
Playing 4 man SWFs back to back isn't a fun experience for a lot of killers, It's already pushing Killers from the game, Myself included.

The whole attitude of telling people to 'Git gud' against an obvious imbalance is so strange to me.

  • The Devs get it hard from the community, Thankfully there's a team to get the concerns of players to the people who need to see it in a nice way.

I don't think the Devs should be trashed but I do think they need to be more Talkative with certain concerns players have and what they plan to do about them. I get they don't want more broken promises but Staying silent just builds up frustration within the community.

  • After rank 10 It's definitely a waste, 9 times out of 10 it's found and taken out within the first 30 seconds of the match, It's not worth the risk. It's sad because it has the most potential to slow the game down which killers desperately need.

You'd be better off running Sloppy Butcher, you'll most likely waste more time then ruin.

  • The Mechanics of the added objective were not well thought out in my opinion.

Killers had to get a hook and search for a lantern that wasn't already taken which could've been anywhere on the map, This gave survivors time to get a safe unhook and do gens. Not the best thing when killers are already under a time crunch from fast gens, which became even more of a problem since the event gave incentive to gen rush to get points.
But on the other Hand all a Survivor had to do was find and Hold the Vessel, No real Impact on gameplay at all. It was sort of a reverse of the Hallowed blight event with less BP Bonuses.

I got my 3 coins playing survivor to get the huntress skin and then just kind of forgot about the event.

  • Solo survivors need a buff as do Killers.

I think people would rather complain that SWF is imbalanced instead of learning how to beat SWF lol.

That just kinda sums up the gaming community as a whole lol. "This is too hard, instead of getting better myself, they have to make the game easier for me"

It's not about beating SWF it's about the obvious advantage they get from coms, How can you not see the imbalances?
Here's a list of all the information that can be shared by over voice coms, You tell me if it's game braking or not.

    • Where the Killer is at all Times.
    • Where the other survivors are.
    • Killer's add ons if they effect survivors.
    • When to Hide.
    • When to Save.
    • When another Survivor is being chased.
    • When It's safe to work on a Gen.
    • What Pallets have been used.
    • The Wiggle progress bar of other survivors and if to take hits.
    • Where the good loops are.
    • Where Totems are and how many have been cleansed.
    • Where Traps are placed.
    • What traps have been Disarmed, Triggered or flash lighted.
    • Where Gens are.
    • What Gens are completed.
    • What Gens have been Kicked.
    • If the Doors are Open.
    • What Doors are Open.
    • Where Hatch is.
*Once used, they know Killer perks like Iron grasp, agitation, spirit fury, enduring, Brutal strength, Bamboozle, Overcharge and a lot more.

    • Aura reading Perks if one survivor has Distortion.

    • Counter Blindness Perks like Hex: Third Seal and Knockout.

and probably more, They have eyes on the map and have the potential to know everything that happens from start to finish.

  • This is something I want so badly but know we'll never have because of the buffs it'd give to killer
I wouldn't mind if taking up a perk slot, I always use shadowborn anyways.

  • I'd still play but maybe like 1 game every now and then, Probably not daily. I barely play anymore as is and see myself playing even less when the new lobby changes come in.

I'd love to not be bothered by SWF but they ruin the game experience for me, I'm not going to force myself to play something I don't enjoy because of some made up obligation.

  • I don't know but one reason could be the fact that when she's phasing she can't see the survivors.

She'll just go for the first set of scratch marks, noises, grass moving that she sees.

  • Seems about right...

Ideally SWF should be matched to the highest players Rank but that's not how the devs want it i guess.
I can't count the number of times I'm watching someone play and they ask to play with lower ranked friends just to get lower ranked killers when they themselves are rank 1.

Just a side note too, that rank 16 seems suspicious with those perks.

My main Gripe when playing Killer is SWF, It's pushed me away from the game if I'm honest since I don't really play survivor. It's just not a fun experience and sadly it's become the majority of my games.

Something that would make me play more killer more would be if it were less Stressful, Killer takes a lot of skill and concentration and a good team can be draining to try and keep up with. This is another reason why I can only play 2 or 3 killer games before closing the game for the day.

Thanks for being honest! Are you "only" bothered by the fact that SWF is unbalanced and the survivors are often bringing very strong perks and items? I assume you sometimes feel like you don't have a fair chance in winning, correct?

Or are you bothered as well by the toxic behaviour of some SWF groups?

I'd say it's a mix of all of those. The Unbalance being the biggest of the three, If the unbalance weren't there the Items and perks wouldn't be as bad aside from the likes of DS which is its own problem.

The toxic behavior I've come to learn is part of the game since it's so common, I try to pay it no mind. I wish there was a rating system at the end of a game that would factor into match making  to keep the toxic people together.

Steam profile them and dodge if they're SWF. You can see them in the pregame for a reason

I usually check the profiles to see who's with who, but it doesn't work well if they have it hidden which most do. Most of the time I can only hazard guesses depending on if someone has a DBD related avatar or not.

    @The_Crusader said:
Not saying it's not possible but in general you kind of need to upgrade killer as you go through the ranks.

You're starting to struggle now and Pig just isn't going to cut it anymore. Time to move on to Nurse/Billy/Spirit/Hag etc

Sucks but that's how the game is. You'll need 10 times as much sweat to win with Pig than you would with Billy or Spirit.

You're right, but at that point it's not even playing to enjoy the game it's just getting sucked into the optimization race since BHVR has some ridiculous "Not every killer can be viable" design philosophy... Though, it's probably more of an excuse to not balance as much. I'll have to farm more blood points to get my billy up, but I've at least got spirit with 4 perks. Don't ever plan to play the nurse because I get really annoyed hearing the constant screeching and seeing all the head wobbling.

This is another huge problem that the Devs refuse to change. I guarantee their would be less people complaining about SWF If all killers could stand a chance at rank one. SWF would still be an unbalanced mess but at least you could put up some kind of a fight.

The Fact they purposely designed the game in a way that you're forced to play 4 of the 14 killers available to have a Decent game is such a waste.

  • No.

Survivors already have enough reset buttons.

  • Seeing the aura of a totem is a bit strong, It'd make hex perks even less useful.

But i do agree, I don't think small game should give warning of traps, It's bad enough Hag's traps already have a counter of a flashlight and don't get me started on a wraith

  • 2 out of every 3 games for me is a Farm map, I'm so sick of that corn and not being able to see anything.

  • I completely understand, I've been feeling the same way about the game for a couple of weeks now, I'm hardly playing anymore.
Until the Devs balance around voice coms nothing is going to change and I honestly don't see that happening anytime soon or until enough killers feel the same way and leave the game.

  • The game does already have stealth aspects and you can especially see this with newer players but the problem is as people get more familiar with the game they become less scared. They know the limits of a killer and it becomes a fun chase rather than a run for their life.

Making the game solely about stealth would just change it into a completely different game. It might be nice as a new game mode but this change would be too drastic to do to the base game.

  • It's not really a Paywall, It's DLC with perks as part of the package. It's not like you can't play the game without those perks. As well there's the shrine which has these perks in it from time to time.

BBQ almost never showing in the shrine is a bit questionable since it's probably why a lot if not most people bought Bubba's DLC but it could just be coincidence since the shrine is random.

  • I'm all for it, would make those perks a lot more useful!

  • Wraith always comes to mind, I don't know why I just always picture him whenever DBD is mentioned outside the game.

  • Camping isn't and will never be a bannable offense.
Yes it sucks for the person on the Hook but the others should be doing generators while the person is being camped. If the killer is face camping he's wasting time, Time that can be done getting gens and opening doors.

The best advice i can give is put yourself in the killers shoes and try to think what the most logical thing to do in their situation is, This way you can judge if they might be near the hook or not. Sure you'll get some that outright facecamp but It'll help with other killers who don't.

Also remember, Killers wont go to far from the hook if they think someone is coming for the save or if they know the exit gates are opened.

  • I too suffer from corn blindness, I think the entity is testing me with how many times I'm put on this map.

  • I think they're fine, I'd like if they skewed more towards survivors/killers you usually play but I get it;s to try get people to test out all the characters. I wouldn't mind the rewards increased a bit too, some are hard to get especially if you never play that killer.
