Agreed, I'd love if the devs were a bit more open about changes going on. Everyday people ask about things mentioned months ago at least if they shared the ideas being worked on and tested people would have more of an understanding on why it takes so long.
As for the update, I'm not holding my breath on anything that isn't guaranteed so I'm excited for the new DLC killer, Hopefully I'll enjoy them whoever they are.

More plaster fixes wont stop the core problems realistically you shouldn't have to play a certain killer or run certain perks just to be able to be competent as a killer, We see that now with the top 3 or so killers and perks like noed and ruin against SWF.
I do like the idea of the Vines though.
-
There could be a lot reasons to tunnel someone. You could have been a good survivor making you a bigger target and one she wanted to get out of the game quickly. or Could be you are already injured of hook and in her sight so it only makes sense to go for you than another full health person.
I get that tunneling isn't fun for the survivor but for killer it's a viable strategy. There's not enough time to hook everybody 3 times as the game stands and getting 1 survivor out of the trail earlier helps a lot.
-
I want a Killer that changes looping, for me it's the most boring part of being the killer and why I love spirit and nurse so much. Legion was a nice idea but poorly designed for both sides.
-
I don't play the shape but I can answer on spirit or doctor.
Unnerving presence and Distressing are good for doctor, Distressing increases his terror radius which is what u want on Doc, More survivors going mad. Go into therapy mode right away at the start of a match.
Unnerving helps too since his ability effects skill check, This makes skill checks smaller and more common.
Nurses was alright on him because you used to be able to see survivors snapping out of it but it was changed that snapping out of it isn't considered a healing action anymore so i wouldn't use nurses on him. If your in range they'll be going mad anyways and if u suspect someone is somewhere send a shock their way to check. Spirit fury and enduring are a good combo for him too since pallets can be tough when playing doc.Spirit has a very fun and useful power, On my spirit I usually run BBQ, Nurses and Hex: Ruin as a base and play around with the 4th perk. You could use NOED or Sloppy butcher to help with nurses if you like. Spirit is all about guessing games, BBQ and Nurses are good to help show you where survivors are and possibly get a surprise attack. If you can try and get prayer beads whenever you have them in your bloodweb, It's her best add on and makes her silent when phasing. Things to remember if your new to spirit, Survivors can hear spirit coming unless you're in a chase which then she doesn't have a sound while phasing. Watch out for grass movement and noises when using your power in a chase, Stridor can help if you find it difficult to hear the survivors.
As for slowing down the game, Hex: Ruin is your best bet for that. In low ranks it works well but as you rank up it might only give you an extra minute or so if its not found at the beginning.
-
Obviously it is.
Even casual SWF will know whats happening most of the time all it takes is small something like "he's on me", "Oh killer left me" or "totems here" and things most people will usually say when playing casual or not. -
I never dodge maps.
Though I might dodge swamp maps if I'm playing nurse since there's a tonne of dead zones for blinks that wont be fixed until the next major update. -
Makes sense and seems fair but doubt it will happen.
-
As a killer, I loathe this place

All the survivor streamers I watch call this map their favorite solely because of that loop.
-
It's funny that the most broken perk, DS, got an unintended Buff.
I'm seeing so many non obsession DS's too, kind of discourages me from playing killer entirely when I have to waste time in a chase just for even the non obsession DS user to get off my shoulder or someone to block the hook and then I've to start the chase all over again.

I don't think they're fixed no.
They added back footsteps after a long time, not to the point what they used to be but if you listen very closely you can hear them when the survivors on concrete or wood.
One thing I did notice is that if a survivor is behind a wall their noises get considerably more quiet, I don't now if this has always been the case.As it is now, I'd say don't rely on sound it's too hard to judge. It's a shame because some killers rely on it heavily.
Yeah sadly I'm one of them I really rely on it when there is 1 last survivor for hatch and your looking for them and want to use your ears to hear if they are hiding.
Yeah it's tough. and honestly strange since one of the loading screen notes says that DBD is a game of sound

-
Congrats! I don't even have Ace or Feng's characters so I'm finished with the event too.
-
They of course Listen but I do think they're disconnected from what the community actually wants.
-
DS is not easily countered, It's completely broken. It really should be an end game perk once gens are completed.

I lost all faith in the dev team - they are very insecure to nerf DS, because they fear the negative feedback. Sad part is DS is one thing in the entire game that fuels toxicity and it seems devs do approve it. The perk itself requires no skill, and most DS users DC every time they are outplayed by the killer. This perk needs to be reworked because in it's current state it's just terrible for both sides.I mean OPs suggestion would sort of fix DS to probably the best we're likely to get. It being an end game perk would finally introduce a counter killer perk, Rancor. I don't see why the Devs wouldn't want this change, it seems an easy fix.
-
SWF in itself is good for the game, It's unbalanced that's the problem. Taking away the voice com would turn those players away and ruin the experience of playing with friends.
Killers and solo need the changes to be on the same level, not taking away from players who are just playing with friends. -

"exciting race of who can find it first".The difference is that a Killer is moving faster over the Map than a Survivor, so the odds to find it first are higher. And that only goes for 110% and 115% Movement Speed-Killers, a Billy is even faster.
Furthermore a Killer does not have to hide from anything while the Survivor has to. Would not call this an "exciting race", it is more luck-based if the Survivor is close enough to the Hatch before the Killer manages to find it.
If you want a 4K, you have to slug. Deal with it.
Survivor could get a Haste when they're the last alive to even out some killers.
You miss the whole point, Hatch is already a free escape, a reward for failing the objective and a slap in the face to a killer for doing their objective. It shouldn't be in the survivors favor.Slugging for a 4k or hatch stand offs are tedious, I'd rather not. The game as it is now basically ends once the 3rd survivor is dead if u don't want to slug, you just accept that they've been given that free escape and wait, it's boring.
-
It was supposed to be implemented but they decided not to go with because once closed it became a game of hide and seek between killer and survivor that could last for god knows how long.
So Instead of putting an aura read once hatch was closed and make the hatch an exciting race of who can find it first, they decided to scrap the idea entirely.
-
I never Facecamp but damn right I'm going to patrol the hook if I don't see anyone on BBQ, I have to assume someone is close by waiting for the save, It'd be stupid to go off into nowhere for no reason and give a free hook save.
Blame the Devs for all the BBQ nerfs. -
Part of me thinks the Devs aren't too concerned about Deranking, People openly do it to have easy game at the expense of lesser skilled / new players and nothing is said or done about it. The same is done with SWF, High ranked players will have a lower ranked survivor in their group to get matched to a low rank killer.
The problem is that with this game a lot of the time, not all but a lot, the Survivors and Killer's fun is at the expense of each other. I feel so bad for the newer players who are getting the brute force of this, I can't imagine newer players enjoying the game and continuing to play if that's what they have to go against.
The matchmaking and ranking system need a rework for the Game's sake.
-
Nothings going to change if we don't express our concerns about the game. The SWF issue is actively being ignored, Until there's an official statement saying they are working on balancing SWF and how, expect these threads to keep popping up.

Then there's the devs insisting on keeping Totems on hills.
Idc how hidden you keep them on hills, as long as players know they can spawn on hills, they'll search them.
And hills are hard to miss.
There’s hills? What? I never seen one! Where are they hiding them?
killers should be able to place their own totems, like traps! There’s no reason this shouldn’t be implemented as a standard part of game play
This! Instead of reworking the entire spawns and maybe fixing the problem of totems they could just implement this and the problem is 100% solved. It could even be done during the load screen with a time limit so game play isn't effected.
-
Making gens longer just makes the games less exciting, A new mandatory second objective is needed that still keeps the game exciting.
-
There's very few options that can be done about SWF, They could have an Indicator to show SWF Giving the killers to option to go against an unbalance in the game or they can Buff Solo and Killers.
Punishing people for partying up isn't the way to go, especially when they're a majority of your player base and customers.
However, on the flip side, ignoring the other portion of your customers who are needed for the others to play the game is also a bad move, which sadly is how a lot of killer players feel right now. -
As a Killer DS Being an end game perk wouldn't be too bad, It'd actually make it balanced with Noed.

Would love this! I run Shadowborn on most my killers just because the default FOV is so small.I'd love a third person killer option too, I wanna see my cosmetics god damnit

Killers have first person + tunnel vision for balancing purposes. A third person camera would make them overpowered.
Very True, meant more as a joke. But would be a nice KYF Feature if anything

All I want is a SWF Indicator in the Lobby but the fact that that is a very very easily implemented feature and hasn't been done yet makes me think the Devs don't want Killers to even know they're going against SWF.... I suppose the new load in to lobbies confirms this to a degree.Exactly. Why would the devs give killers a clear indication for dodging a lobby? If killers keep dodging to avoid SWFs, soon the Devs will be making so you won't know who is in your lobby anymore, but for players. You won't see their names... profiles... ranks... maybe not even the character and items being brought in.
So don't matter to me if killers keep dodging. I'd rather the killers not be able to see anything like the survivors. Only reason I believe killers can see info now is because there would be a bunch of players that would stop playing.
You're forgetting the reason Killers dodge those lobbies, SWF Isn't balanced in the slightest. If it were people wouldn't mind facing them. My Suggestion was a compromise to not nerfing an unbalance and give people the option if they want to face that but i suppose you want the cake and to eat it too.

I have to agree. Tonight has really taken the piss. I'm fed up of being shafted by Decisive Strike.2 survivors left, 1 gen, 1 hits a DS which gives the other time to finish the last gen then they both get Adrenaline. Don't reccomend Enduring because its not so easy to get on all killers due to the grind, plus if they use it in a strong area even Enduring isn't enough.
Its amazing just how powerful this perk can be and it feels like everyone has it. Plus the devs purposefully buffed it with this new ######### hook system so their whole talk of nerfing it was one great big lie.
I thought i was the only one who noticed, I'm getting non obsession d-strikes more and more, I wonder if it had anything to do with the new hooks. I gave up playing yesterday after my first game was a 4 D-strike, adrenaline SWF. It's awful, you chase someone for 1 or 2 gens to finally get them down just for them to have a reset button to start looping all over again.
-
Playing just to have fun is a good mindset, I don't set out to get kills anymore It's just too stressful to try and get Three/Four kills and you really have to play intensely to fit in the time constraint of gens. It's just not worth it.
Playing relaxed as killer you tend to get a lot more cocky survivors who will taunt you since your not putting on enough pressure and Survivors wont be afraid of you and it kind of Goes against the idea of the game but what can you do otherwise

-
Would love a more shard awards and a devotion award would be great too! The grind in this game is insane

-
Yeah it sucks but there part of the Game so I can't blame survivors for using what they're given.
It's not even Event exclusive for me Being stabbed in the shoulder 4 times a game is the norm
-
Hitboxes are screwed on both sides for killer and survivor.
-
Bit off topic but does anybody know if the Devs released stats on Killer/Survivor Ratios I'd love to see how it is on each platform and overall.
-
I don't know why this isn't a thing, most killers play completely differently Like you can be a good Trapper but not a good wraith. It doesn't make sense having an overall killer rank.

Welcome to DBD. This game is made for Killers enjoyment, Survivors are merely NPC's with players behind them.Killers, because every multiplayer game needs an easy-mode, hand-held, babied crutch class corrosively eating away at the games community from within.
And why is it this way? because killers /cried damn hard for their endless catalog of buffs and survivor nerfs.
This has to be sarcasm right? The thing eating away at the game is SWF if anything. You're complaining about add ons that are rare and a one time use. What about all the game braking things on the Survivor side because there's plenty more than there is for killer.
-
Yes, I Think all Killers should be Viable at Rank 1.
The Game has to be Balanced in order to have Variety.
It's a shame that the game neglects most of the Killers, They are such a unique and fun aspect to the game but if you want to play well your choices go from 14 to about 4 Killers. I'm all for nerfing Nurse and Billy if it means the other Killers can have a chance at winning, It sucks that by Design your wedged into playing a small portion of the Killers in order to stand a chance. Seems a waste... -

The game needs Balance to have Variety but they said it themselves, "You want to win, play billy or nurse".
I'd say they should make stronger killers from now on if they have no intention of changing things but again they said themselves they don't make killers to be viable.Judging by past statements and actions, It's clear they have no intention of balancing Survivors and Killers.
-
Totems are most of the time Wastes of a perk slot in my experience. Sometimes Ruin will work out if It's hidden well enough but most of my games the totem spawns like in OPs pick, Or it's gone before I can even get to see where it was placed.
Devs need to make Totems unable to spawn out in the open, You'd think that'd be a no brainer. Same goes with Spawning next to a gen, on a Hill or near/In Shack.
The appearance of a lit totem doesn't help either, It's so easy to spot. -
It's even better now that Odds of greater items have been increased from chests. I haven't tried Pharmacy but with Plunderer's I get Purple medkits and keys all the time.
-
SWF Maybe?
Happens to me all the time, Since I passed rank 11 I'm playing against red ranks constantly and probably one person with the same rank as me. Makes it hard for killers to rank up and learn when they're matched with SWF Red ranks. -
If i see a P3 Claudette I'll try get her asap because if i loose her i know it's gonna be hard to find her again

-
Agreed 100% I'd love more horror aspects to the game!
Right now i feel the only way to actually scare survivors is with jump scares by killers like prayer beads spirit, a sneaky nurse, hag and Myers with those add ons.The game is only really scary for newer players, The higher the rank the more you can tell survivors aren't afraid of you, all the taunting

-
Hatch is already near enough a free escape for losing the match.
You want balance, I'd say remove it but that would be boring gameplay wise since people would just give up. It needs to be able to be closed by the killer if it's found and survivors auras reveled once closed. That way it's a run to find hatch for both sides. -
Got my first two coins pretty quickly playing survivor, thought I'd try get my last playing Killer, bad mistake. I don't know if it's something with the ques but I'm getting matched with ranks 1s as a rank 8 killer more then usual.
Once I get that 3rd Coin I'll be taking a brake from the game, this is just too stressful not what I look for in a game
-
Doubt any changes are happening to SWF anytime soon if at all. We got the hidden perks which is a start but I don't see the Devs actually balancing SWF at all even if it drives killers away from the game.
-
If Killer points were Higher and Vessels had Auras when they could be destroyed with longer times to destroy on death hook, the Event would be fine.
As it is now, Killers have an added objective of finding the vessels to destroy them adding in more to do in the time crunch and giving free safe unhooks and gen time for something you might not even be able to find or get to on time. -
Had this happen to me, Hooked a survivor seen it go red and hooked a second and it went to yellow.
