As I said, all you can do is feed him pallets.
With brutal and some mindgames they won't make it far. You can pretend like you are going to bloodlust to force them onto one side of the pallet, and then kick it with brutal and they will make very little distance in alot of cases.
Any jungle gym is instantly shut down by bottles and bamboozle. They can only throw the pallet, and then you brutal strength it. Infinites almost cease to exist.
One of my favorite streamers, pro vengeance, has a 98% 3-4k rate and he uses clown regularly at rank 1. And he also makes fun of people who say he is weak.
The only time I feel like he really struggles is against SWF, but what killer doesn't struggle against SWF?
Personally, I just think people are bad with him, and can't strategize enough with where to place the bottle tosses in order to land fast hits or force instant pallet drops.
But pallet drops don't equal a hit on a survivor. Even if you bust through pallets like nobody else with Brutal Strength and even Fire Up added onto that, there's 50 more pallets that the survivor has time to run to and force you to break. Sure, you'll create dead areas quickly with clown by breaking windowless open loops, but by the time you do that it'll be the late middle to end game.
On top of that, doctor can at least stop close survivors from completing a god loop window vault, while Clown just forces a medium vault, which has been relatively recently sped up by the devs.

Everytime I play GF and someone flashes for a save or drops a pallet on a loop I make the same sigh.
I think he has the most realistic stunned sound out of all the killers. Also, the wraith has a pretty funny sound effect too.

@Mikeasaurus said:
Ghostface's stunned sigh sums up DS for me perfectly.
I one time pulled off a flashlight save on a poor ghostface that was looped around the map for 3 generators - I like to think that the person playing him sounded like his stunned noise right before he DCed.

You wouldn't see people being cocky and t-bagging the animal/person that's trying to slash them in half.

I also feel like The Entity would purposefully fix a character's disability to give them more hope/emotions. I honestly don't see how a wheelchair-bound person could survive through trials.
Could be like Bentley from sly cooper or the old wheelchair dude in happy wheels - the entity will attach rockets and stuff to the wheelchair for extra mobility,

Imagine if he was playing a non meta killer. The devs want a variety in perks (why they nerfed ruin mostly) and a variety of killers, yet they'll shrug off this video. This is why killer metas exist.
He's one of the best killers out there and if he can't do the job against only 2 toolboxes I'm not sure how any average Joe could do, especially against more than 2.
Oh wait, I can. It doesn't end well.
It's just ez time for survivors, both during the game and in the end chat

Just completely ignore all the gens on one side of the map so you can three gen them 4head. Letting survivors complete 60% of their objective in 90 seconds is just part of the game duh.

FUN. Rinse and repeat for 7 more games before I get burnt out. Devour Hope, the one Hex totem that should stay around until mid to late game, was gone in under 2 minutes consistently because totem spawns are total #########. Was sent to either Coldwind, Haddonfield, or Ormond. Teabags were had, gens were rushed, the usual. Even in matches where I'm trying to learn Clown or Doc who have three or two ######### perks because Devour Hope keeps spawning either next to a gen, next to a survivor, or out in the open for the survivors to have their way with it.
Why is killer, the power role in this asymmetrical game, the stressful role? Why isn't it survivor? The side where I'm supposed to be fearing for my life? Instead I can just loop, stun, and rin to the nearest infinite unless it's Billy, Nurse, or Spirit, then I actually have to use a quarter of the grey matter inside my skull.
Why is survivor the cakewalk? Why is survivor both the numerous and the power role? I should be playing killer to let off some steam and feel powerful, not hope to god that I get a good map, get a good totem spawn, get good pallet and tile spawns, pray that the survivors aren't bringing in 4 semi decent toolboxes, ect. Then I have to keep track of 20 perks, aforementioned totem and pallet spawns, who is who, who's on death hook, if anyone has DS or BT, items, my own power and addons, hook placements, and so on.
Killer makes me want to lobotomize myself with a plastic spoon. Survivor makes me feel like I am actually braindead because of how easy it is.

As survivor, I get hit 2 metres away from a window I just fast fast vaulted. As killer I get a delay on everything I do, which is particularly annoying for my Nurse-gameplay.
Right now, dedicated servers are one of the worst additions to this game I have ever experienced.
One of my favorite things as a nurse main is when you time a blink perfectly and hit M1 but the game/dedicated servers acts like you never clicked your mouse right after a blink and instead make you whiff and look like a fool.

Because a Twitch streamer said he likes using it.
Because people start to run around after you static blast them. There's a lot more crows than you think, and you can pretty much read survivor movements through walls. I didn't get the idea from some Twitch streamer.

Lol, his chase music still sounds like an old beat up dryer, just now with a 3-year old plucking at guitar strings.

Nurse is still worth the effort, albeit if you're not good playing as her then the extra cooldown just seems like the icing on the cake in terms of being punished for a misplaced blink. Perks like Bloodhound and Stridor that can help you actively track an injured survivor (and this is in hopes that you'll land the first hit outside of the corn fields) more often than not help you get rid of the "corn blindness" that killers encounter. Not to mention that Stridor prevents people from just crouching in the corn field in attempt to end the chase.

Yes this will give him map pressure. How again?
By making him be able to hook survivors faster and apply hook pressure. It shouldn't be the case that only a survivor's vaulting speed is lowered.

I love Detective's hunch, especially since now it works after any generator is repaired, not just the one you're working on. Synergies well with Open-Handed

There's no reward for hitting survivors with your bottle (no longer intoxication or slower speed for survivors, but thank goodness they have a slightly more blurred screen!). Pinky finger makes clown a little more fun, since you have to get close to a survivor and hit them with the bottle like huntress.

Good lord. You can, and should be, dropping chases within 15-20 seconds if you know it's not going well. Chasing a strong player, in a strong position, is one of the easiest ways to lose the game as a killer. There should be almost no commitment to any single player. Treat everyone as objects.
But sometimes getting the down can mean the difference between forcing survivors to come off gens to rescue the hooked survivor and can have a significant impact on the game. Even after leaving the survivor, you just basically handed them a get-out-of-jail free card and they'll start working on gennies while the rest of their team could be halfway across the map.
-
Probably the hag. Just imagine a creature just shooting out of the floor in front of you. It's a pretty good jump-scare in-game, so what about real life?
Oni would be pretty scary to hear in the distance, especially when he slams his kanabo around and you can hear it thud and roars.
-
I feel this is an issue of the maps being the size of America + Europe combined.
Smaller maps and indoor maps, albeit harder on survivors, keep the killer close and make you think on your toes since there's lots of blind spots while working on a generator. There's no suspense/excitement in knowing that the killer is all the way across an open field map.

@Fibijean said:
Did I miss something? When did they say they wanted to remove totems as an objective or make the games shorter?
I edited my post to hopefully clear some things up.
I'll argue the age-old argument that the current Ruin is needed for killers that lack mobility/power for the initial portion of the game. We both already know the rest of this, so I'll spare you the reiteration.
The reason I stated that developers want shorter games is due to the fact that there is no other option for low-mobility killers to turn to that has a quick impact on early game generator progress (Corrupt Intervention is decent, but people more often than not hide for the duration and it still leaves some generators open for repair). Did they explicitly say that they want shorter games? No, but that's the way they're taking the game for most of the killers on the roster.
Sure, as survivors we can all hunt totems for the juicy 1,000 BP. But there's not really any pressure to find a totem early on, since all totems now have prerequisite goals you (or the survivors if NOED) have to complete before they start having an effect on survivor game-play, and that's if they aren't found before then.
End point is that the match is strictly controlled by the survivors skill and whether or not they're goofing around. When I run discordance on any low-mobility killer (Clown, Huntress, etc), I can't apply pressure on a generator that's halfway across the globe (and when I get there, it's pretty much done).

I think it's a challenge for both survivor and killer. Just run around the map and scare crows away. Sometimes you can work on a generator and repeatedly scare a crow away, which also counts.

Monitor stacks with dead rabbit?
Yes, but it has a lesser return (Since dead rabbit is based upon % value, while Monitor is a set 8 meters). So you'll not get as much value out of dead rabbit if you are running Monitor with it - but it still does work.
-
Here's my stuff for my mains:
For Nurse, I'd say Wooden Horse and Dark Cinture (Use wooden horse with Unrelenting to deal with not losing those pesky DHers).
For Oni, I'd say Bloody Sash for the extra movement speed while absorbing, and Wooden Oni Mask/Splintered Hull for the extra blood orbs.
For Clown, either of the feather addons (it's quite silly to be slowed down while throwing by a power that is supposed to slow survivors down) and either reloading addon.
For Myers, I like the Dead Rabbit and Monitor combo, as well as any of the addons that make gaining evil faster.

First, even if only one survivor DCs unless the killer is bad or the remaining three are God like and the killer is only okay, then those 3 survivors are done for. You don't need "most" survivors to DC for there to be an effect.
Second, if you regularly have a survivor DC as a killer then you should know how much it screws over the other survivors. Why do you think DCs and suicides on hook snowball? Because nobody wants to play a 3 man game, never mind a 2 man.
When people only consider things from their perspective, that's how bias is made.
I strongly agree with your points, and yes, the thread is biased towards killers. However, I simply didn't have a screenshot/video to argue the survivor's side of things.
Really, all I want is to have both sides at least safety pip in the event of a DC. From the first post it seemed you were attacking me for making any argument at all, which is why I got defensive.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
Everyone is punished when anyone DCs. Stop focusing on me, me, me.
I never said everyone was not punished in my argument.
I can only form arguments in the case of the games I play or other games that people record/stream. If I played a game as a survivor and had most of the team DC, then I'd argue the case that survivors get punished for DCing. In this case, the group was a SWF that DCed so one of their teammates could get the hatch. What am I supposed to do?
Sorry for only being able to speak/argue from my perspective.

Even after Nurse's nerf, I am still a Rank 1 killer and main her. More often than not I get some Brown and Purple ranked survivors in a single match, which sucks for them.
Although playing as a Red rank survivor, I'm rarely pitted up against red rank killers now, which is a bit saddening.

I never thought about it, but iron maiden might actually be a 200 IQ pick. Think about how survivors often jump in a locker to juke if the nurse blinks within hit range. Iron maiden completely erases this option as a counter to her, as locker juking her will now result in an insta-down.
That's actually pretty insidious if you ask me!
That's the idea. And most of the time when people realize that you're running Infectious Fright, they'll jump in lockers when they're in your terror radius. Also, people don't know if you're running BBQ, so a lot of times they'll hide in a locker after the first hook.
Franklin's is equipped just to deal with potential chest looters, who more often than not pull out a red key and can outright end the match mid-game. Not to mention that it is a form of pressure, especially when survivors don't want to lose their items and have to remember and go back to where they dropped the item.

@HatCreature said:
I think the new Ruin is interesting but like everyone has said, Hexes don't last to the end game.
I'm not playing the PBT but I'm assuming the Survivors have a notification you're using Ruin so they go look for the totem and then because totems have horrible placements they get destroyed instantly, I frequently spawn on Hex totems despite the amazing line of sight check that ALWAYS WORKS. This is because the old maps were not designed for totems while new maps like Hawkins were created with totems in mind so it was easier to find good spots. I haven't been to the reworked Lery's so I am assuming the new totem spawns are amazing and fun, if not then my previous statement is false.
If all possible totem spots were covered with leaves or boxes and then Survivors had to move that object to find if a totem is there or not then it would take longer because
1---they're wasting their time interacting with a fake spot
2---the amount of fake spots is the strength and outweighs the obvious locations which BHVR can't get away from so this is a win for them 100%
I'm not saying Ruin shouldn't be a Hex totem but I am saying that no matter what the Devs say, totems are inherently flawed because of their inability to put them in spots that aren't super obvious and in direct line of sight of spawns and near Gens.
This is a very good idea! However I'd imagine that Bhvr. would put this idea on the infinite back-burner as of right now since there's a lot more pressing demand to buff the weaker killers on the roster lineup.
