People playing survivors, does anyone else rush for a save when they see a first hooked survivor doing a triple pull to try and die? Like if I can get to them before second stage, great, but I at least want to get to them before they die so they are forced to either play, wait, or dc.
Killers- if you see someone do this do you kill them or make them play/dc. I am now beginning to think the best thing I can do with these players if they refuse to play is slug them. It gives other survivors a chance to get altruism/benevolence points and forces a makeshift dc penalty. (this of course is if its an early give up. If there are two survivors left or something like that I mercy kill). The only think I cant stand tho is if they let themselves get to crow stage, the explosions are so annoying.
When I've seen people suicide on hook at 5 gens it's almost always because the killer is camping them, which is freaking ridiculous because there are 5 gens still. Who wants to hang until they die when the killer won't leave to find someone else and won't commit to chase when someone does come to try and make a save. Dying by suicide or dying from being camped is no different in my eyes, especially if it's at the start since the outcome will be the same: 3 survivors vs a killer most likely with 5 gens left or maybe 4 if no saves were attempted and someone stayed on a gen. When this happens in my games, I get irritated, not at the survivor that was being camped (or usually tunneled if they were saved), but the killer. Dude has 5 gens left! Why the heck is the killer camping with 3 plus gens left? It's toxic and I totally get why someone would quit. Besides... who knows how many times that has happened to that survivor that day already. Probably quite a few if they got mad enough to suicide on hook or DC.

I play a lot of both roles to say: being overly altruistic is possibly the easiest mistake a surv can make, and a Killer can capitalize on.
just played a match as surv on eyrie where 2 of the survs were hovering around a hooked third while the killer was around. Giving him no reason to leave. The hooked surv died on first hook. At 5 gens because of this.
And this happens a lot. Just last week, I got a 4k on Haddonfield as GF because all 3 survs wouldn’t leave the hook. Survs think its cute but it’s just an easy win for the killer and a bad time for the hooked surv
Personally, I would rather survivors try to save me, especially if I'm on my first hook. There is nothing worse, imo, then dying on the first hook at the beginning of the game (something you don't even get to play because of it). The killer shouldn't be a jerk if there are 4/5 gens still in play and actually go chase someone else. When they're that sweaty it makes the game suck for everyone. This kind of conversation encourages teammates not to be teammates based off what sounds like a hardcore camping killer (a toxic one if you ask me since there were 5 gens in play still). Now, I'm not saying that everyone should be there trying to save the person. There should always be at least one person on a gen, but that's hard to make work in solo when no one can communicate. And, of course, every game is situational but if I know if I got hooked at the beginning of the game and died that way on a regular basis I'd go play something else.

I posted about this in Feedback, too. So glad other people are annoyed by it. We need an auto-allocate button to speed things up.
Edit: I had to add that it should be optional. That way people can decide when they want to use it and when they don't.

It would be intense to play against or as old Freddy. I'd be down for that option, for sure. it would be cool if they added a way to switch between the two.

Poor twins. I love the concept of them and when someone knows how to play them without being toxic it's really fun and even as scary as a jump scare Myers. One of my favorite games I ever played was against The Twins. I didn't even survive, but the laughs and screams made me not care about the loss. 🤣 I wish people gave them more love. I haven't played against The Twins in months.

You can't say he/she is all talk "if not" because they never claimed they were 99% with scratched mirror Myers without stalking and with no perks. They said they're 99% [the way they play]. It's a BIG difference. Let them prove they are THEIR WAY, which is what they originally claimed anyway, if they want to prove it. Don't try to change the terms and then state they're not good because they won't do it your way when that's not what they were claiming from the start at all.

I mean, in the case of being able to boost someone's reputation, I don't think the killer would be in the nicest spot either. A lot of people in this community are bad sports and would not Thumbs Up the killer. I actually think a neat thing could be doubling the individual Thumbs Up reward for killer when a survivor gives it to them despite having been killed/4K.
I don't think there are enough farming games to warrant a fear of the system being abused from them honestly. I do agree though that you shouldn't be able to Thumbs Up your swf members. That would be abusable so easily, and also it wouldn't feel very rewarding wondering how many people actually thought you were good vs your friend giving you props every match.
But yeah I really wish they did something with this feature. I use it sometimes but it feels meh when you know the player won't know you appreciated them.
I would be all for killers getting double points for thumbs up since it could be more challenging for them to receive any. They need to do something to make the game less toxic. Punishing players isn't working.
-
I don't even bother with flashlights because I'm on PS4. It feels almost impossible to get a blind in any situation other than a killer breaking a pallet.

I want to see this so bad now. 😂

I like the idea of an endorsement system similar to OW. The only issue is that certain killers wouldn’t get any like nurse or legion even if they played nice due to how the community hates them
That's not true. I've messaged nurses to tell them how much fun I've had playing against them. I probably still have the messages on my PS4. I would have thumbs up'd them if it would have actually mattered. Personally, for me, Nurse is one of my favorite killers to go against (probably because she's so unique and rare to see) so long as she doesn't decimate the whole group before a single gen is done.

I feel like even mid-ish-tier-or-slightly-higher-killers who are just mildly annoying to deal with would also suffer this, like Artist (AKA my main) or Clown (AKA my other main).
I don't think suffer is the right word. "Miss out" seems more appropriate. I'm sure there's a way around it with a little brainstorming.

Having a system like this Killers would just be constantly down voted and you would never ever see a Killer player with mid to high rep. Just look at all the stupid comments Survivors leave on Killer Steam profiles. You would literally have to throw games as Killer to recieve rep from Survivors. I never ever see a Killer get praise.
Then don't have down votes. Just up votes. That way points aren't lost.

I love the idea of making the Thumbs Up button actually useful, but I don't like where you make farming/being friendly a reportable offense. If everyone is happy with a friendly game, there's no reason to make it reportable/bannable.
I do have reservations about making a reputation stat that would reward you things if it is publicly visible. I don't see the need for a Thumbs Down button as well, if your point was precisely to reward rather than punish.
I wouldn't want it to be a reportable offense either, but I can see it being abused and I think that would upset people. If it happened too much it would ruin the games for a lot of people (mostly survivors since its more likely they would experience it the most since killers hold the power there).

People think I'm capping with my 99% winrate.
So challenge me then. You can Live stream the games and I can show bhvr how strong killers can be. Apparently this is something impossible but that's what I'm doing for months in pub lobbys
I believe you. I played killer yesterday for the first time after a LONG break from the game (got sucked into a different one) because I wanted the event cosmetics. I got a 4k every single game. The first game I used Hag and I wasn't used to my camera speed or the buttons. Hit the air a few times trying to set traps 🤣. After that, it was smooth sailing. Played Wraith, Pig, and Legion.
There are tons of 4k challenges on Youtube that prove they're not that hard. You might get one team of sweaty survivors that give you a hard time but if you can 3 gen them, they're finished. A 3 gen situation is pretty much a guaranteed victory.

@Rulebreaker said:
First BHVR said they wanted to increase kill rate and shake the meta, which happened so buffs did their job and are staying (hopefully)
Second, the stats can be affected by ALOT of variables, such as map, swfs(swats and casuals), add ons and so on.
Third, saying people can't read stats, when they clearly can, undermines alot of credibility for you mate
Honestly we just wanted in on the madness 😶
You're forgetting that they supposedly don't even count DCs AND a lot of killer mains, especially those that decimate their opponents, let the last survivor go in order to "be nice" and it's safe to assume some do so purposefully to lower their kill rates (mostly people who know they're wrecking survivors and don't want their killer nerfed). So, if the stats can't be trusted it' s because the killer is probably doing BETTER than what we're seeing. Definitely not worse.
As far as nurse goes, it's logical why she's lower than some other killers. The average person can't play her. Yeah, she's deadly in the right hands (a special few) but most people aren't going to waste their time trying to "get gud" when there are so many other enjoyable options. Nurse is basically unplayable on console anyway, so that excludes a ton of people right there.
In the end, stats do matter. They are undoubtedly higher than what we're being shown.
-
I had a similar idea to this and love the thought of rewarding and not punishing (since it's obviously not working anyway). The only thing is I personally don't care about blood points. They just don't mean anything to me but that's because I have an abundance of them and the items you get with them. I'd prefer iridescent shard rewards, cosmetic rewards, or even a point/currency that I can save up to buy the battle pass with.

No one would play ranked.
I would. I'm in red all the time already. I would continue to play it because it would be the most challenging for me.
Edit: Also, it wouldn't matter if they did or not. The two modes would be a part of the same game. People would still be playing the game overall. No loss for the devs.
-
They just need two types of modes: Casual, where there are no ranks at all, and Ranked, where there are ranks. That would solve a lot of issues, I think.
But really, I don't think they're that concerned with the top players. The point is to bring in new people and get them playing long enough to buy some things. As long as they can satisfy the fresh blood and keep them playing for a while, or get them hooked since the game can be addicting, then that's what matters. If they have things that will scare away new players then they lose money. Money is the end game for the creators. Not our feelings.
Edit: For the record, I'm not saying that as if it's a bad thing. Anyone who has created something would want to make money from it. That's sort of the point in the majority of cases.

A really hot topic I see right now is about MMR and that it's not working or that basing it off of just kills is a bad idea. Well I actually agree with the devs in that kills are the biggest indicator of skill. Not the only indicator, but the biggest.
So a big argument I see against this is that hooks actually matter more than kills. Well do they really? I totally get that 8 hooks with 0 kills doesn't mean you're terrible at the game but if you can't actually get the kills, you can't get the kills. At some point you have to decide a hard win condition. Is this the goal of the game to get X amount of hooks or X amount of kills? Well I think basing it around X amount of hooks is not a good idea. The reason for this is because you are a killer trying to KILL people, not just hook them a couple times and then have them escape in your face. I saw a streamer say that 8 hooks with 0 kills should be considered a tie. Really? 4 survivors walking through the exit gates is a tie? You were a very bad killer in this killing horror game if you can tie while letting 4 people escape.
Let's take other competitive games as examples like fighting games. In Street Fighter or Tekken if you get your opponent to 10% health but die it's not a tie, you died. There has to be a a hard win condition, it's not based around how much health you've taken off. You can still be a good player while getting 8 hooks but if you can't secure the win well there is an issue there.
Another argument I've seen is how could a Bubba that got 3 kills by camping and tunneling be better than a Nurse who got 9 hooks but only 2 kills. This goes back to the first part of what I was talking about. If you're a Nurse and can't out kill the average Bubba well I'm sorry you just aren't a good Nurse. If you can secure the same amount of hooks but less kills it's because you didn't play as smart, that's it. I don't understand how people can totally agree with something like Otzdarva's 50 wins condition which is based on kills, not hooks, but then disagree with kills being used as the main metric for SBMM. It's a logical leap that doesn't make any sense to me.
The last thing I want to say is that MMR is totally working. There are so many logical fallacies about this and I just really want to clear it up. Even on these forums I see people all day say that MMR doesn't actually work right next to posts about how the game is so much more challenging now (mostly as killers). So which is it? Is MMR not working or are your games much harder than the old ranking system? You can't have it both ways. Even Otzdarva said that he couldn't get 50 wins in a row anymore, it's just too hard. The SBMM system is definitely inconsistent but it is definitely working, I know basically everybody is having a harder time as killer and if you aren't, well you're just a god player I guess because even Otz is having a harder time. Long post, I know.
I have to disagree. Hooks matter. For both killer and survivor.
For example, you WANT to pair up survivors who get hooked the least amount of times with killers who get the most hooks. Why? Because those survivors are amazing at either running or hiding, possibly both, and that killer is amazing at chasing and catching. That's how the system gets balanced out. Kills don't balance anything because some survivors suck at running/hiding, sorry but it's true, and some killers just camp and tunnel right off the hook, which takes no skill. Sorry but it's also true.
Having a system that goes off hooking would probably fix this game. The strongest survivors (best runners/hiders) would actually be paired up with the strongest killers (best chasers/catchers). Getting hooked the least in a game or getting the most hooks means you're really freaking good at the game. It's at least worth trying. It can't be any worse than it feels now.
Edit: I had to add that kills also can't be counted because it's too easy for games to be thrown. Survivors can just give up and let killers kill them, giving them a free pass up the ranks, and Killers can just camp/tunnel one or two people allowing the other survivors to escape, giving them the same free pass even if it wasn't earned. Hooks matter (getting or avoiding them). If anything kills should just add a bonus to hook points.

Yes it's that easy to get Alchemist ring and blackward that I'm practically using it every match.
Well, that's silly to me. Pink and purple add-ons should be difficult for EVERYONE to get. They shouldn't be in the majority of matches or in every blood web. And maybe they should even expire if not used in a certain amount of time. Especially if they're super powerful and tilt the game severely to one side.

That's right. Those blood points are important.
The blood points actually are important otherwise he wouldn't be able to get the add-ons needed to make a video like that.
But, obviously, auric cells are something most people would want more, I assume, because of all those cosmetics in the store that you can purchase with only them. That is, until you have everything that you can possibly get with them. Then it's back to BP.

Oh, yeah. I've gotten plenty when I play survivor (as well as killer). I have a friend who got hate mail and still does to this day by the same killer. They have an ongoing feud of who can stay red rank 1 and just talk made crap to each other. And no, they're not friends but they'll randomly send each other screen shots of their ranks to see who's better. It's actually pretty hilarious.

So after some insanely frustrating games as Myers, I decided to let the Demogorgon out for a walk as I'm pretty confident on him these days. First two games - someone DCs instantly, then people give up. Ugh.
Next, get sent to The Game. Oh joy, looks like a full stack SWF. 4 cakes is always an indicator.
Actually end up doing pretty well with my 'sonar' build (Whistle+Lining) and wind up with David DCing on his second hook and everyone else on their last hook at 2 gens left. Some really fun chases, so I decide 'what the hell', I'll give them all the gate as they seem to be playing together, I like everyone to get BP and I've likely already got my ruthless.
Postgame (edited for content, assume it was 1000% worse):

This community, I swear. Some people just want to watch the world burn. And guess who's going to sweat that extra little bit tomorrow...
They sound like awful, miserable people with egos are too big for this planet. Don't listen to them, though. I know it's hard but what you did was really nice and there are people out there who appreciate when killers show mercy/kindness like that. Whenever I've been spared by a killer I usually give them hearts. 🤣 And, of course, thank them. This situation reminds me of a saying "bad people turn good people into them" . Don't let them do that to you!
-
Yeah, I'll agree the killer had skill, though an advantage immediately knowing where everyone was. I personally just don't get matches like this. I don't see how it's fun for either side. I guess the killer gets to show off and brag about it? But I don't know. Playing out the match, experiencing the challenge, having those clutch moments, and most importantly the game lasting for more than a minute... 🤣 that's what makes the game fun to me. Kind of feels like a waste of time otherwise.

Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not something that happens. Your experience isn't the sum of everyone else's. Just as mine isn't yours. But I have played other games with tons of bugs like this. We've just been down different roads.
Edit: The difference with the other games I've played is the errors are almost always fixed in a very timely manner.

Exactly what I was saying about actually fixing the errors. I play other games that have a lot, too, but they're almost always fixed within 24hrs to a couple days. Never lasting more than a week. The time it takes to repair the game busting errors is the real issue and it should be a huge priority for the developers. More than cosmetics and new content, imo, but fixing errors doesn't necessarily make them more money either. -shrug-
-
I'm sure coding and all that isn't as easy as we all like to believe it is. Unless you've done it you can't really hate on them for making mistakes. They are human, after all. However, having said that you can hate the fact that they don't fix them quickly (or what feels like at all when it comes to some things), especially if they have a serious impact on gameplay. But really, the complaint should be how long it takes to fix the errors. Not there being errors. No one is perfect.
-
Survivors get significantly less points than killers most the time. I think it's because people believe "well, it's four against one" but are neglecting the fact that each of the four is an individual with their own bloodwebs. Nothing is shared between people playing survivors. It's not like they can exchange points. Survivors should be rewarded as individuals, not as a single entity, and be rewarded more for what they do. Running a killer for prolonged periods of time is actually really hard and the person usually does get camped/slugged afterwards or can't do anything else, no choice of their own, and so shouldn't be punished but rewarded for their effort and contribution to the match.
-
Maybe due to work/school there are just more people on at night? Or because it's dark people can't do much outside (especially considering what's going on in the world right now) and so jump on the game systems. That's my guess.

I don't like how they think of moris and keys as the same. Dying a different way compared to losing unexpectedly is completely different.
Dying a different way, as you put it, is losing unexpectedly for a survivor (at the very least one) and can feel just as unfair to the survivors as a survivor hatch win feels to killers. Besides, it could be really cool and fun to have some kind of interactive mori challenge - like both sides getting skill checks and whoever misses first is the loser, all the while there's animations happening (like a fight - like in RE 6). That would be bad[***]and fun as long as it didn't take up too much time.
But having played both killer and survivor a lot, for years now, both those things could use a tweak. People complain about them all of the time because no one likes having a win stolen and that's what BOTH things do for one person (or more in the case of survivors).

As soon as you start solving the box, the Chains will stop spawning, you kept tapping it and running, then tappingit again. The final set of chains you were attacked by were from Pinhead himself, likely using a build I figured out.

Reading the description on the Pinheads power it sounds like it is supposed to work that way. It is also best to not wait until it has started the chain hunt until you try to solve it. Don't pick it up too early though. I say when it is around 3/4 the way full.
Okay. I'll definitely try that next time to see if I have better luck.

I must just suck because I did try to dodge them throughout the game and so did the others. We just couldn't get it done. No one managed to complete the puzzle even one time after the chain attack started. Also moving starts the box's progress all over and you can't move while actively solving it.

So, first off even though it says it in the video I just want to say sorry for sounding like a whiny B. This is after dealing with this in several games. This match alone went on for nearly 26 minutes. Yes, it was that long. I can't upload the whole video because I'm cussing through the whole thing. xD In this attempt you see, I'm trying to do the box and almost finish it before I'm attacked by chains. Not once in this match was anyone ever able to complete the puzzle and that's all anyone tried to do since we couldn't really do anything else. This was the closest I personally got. Most the time I never made it past a quarter progress. Also pause on the last image after my character gets hit. It's hilarious. lmao
