  • 3k?

Imagine de-pipping with a 4k, because it's a real thing to do your job too well as a killer.

  • Killers usually have it rough early game in low ranks (3 skilled survivors working on gens while one is being chased), which means that most likely at least 2 of those gens will pop if the chased person is decent at survivor. Keys take away late game potential, which is an issue.

Mori's need to be looked at as well, but the topic was on keys.

  • Vigil in my opinion is a pretty good perk, but then again that's just my opinion.

  • The issue is that any killer that can't pull off mind games (with or without a mindgaming ability, like Spirit) with a decent red rank survivor is left having to chase them across the map loop after loop. Even if you do abandon chase, that's valuable seconds that the rest of the team might use to work on generators.

Against a really coordinated team, most likely they'll fan out if they spawn together and start working on 3 gens while the chased guy runs you around. You finally down him, and 3 gens pop. That leaves 2 gens left, so another survivor is free to be altruistic and help his teammate while the other 2 survivors are working on generators. Ruin usually goes down really fast (I've seen small game a lot more than I'd think on those teams), and any killer with low mobility still has to get to the generator to apply pop.

    Stressful? You could say that.

I am a Korean. I have some complaints about the Oni patch, so I'm going to turn the translator around and ask you Please understand me even if I say it strangely. First of all, the angle at which the Oni could spin after the patch became too stuffy. I think it's a big nut. The character is also gone bad because there are limited parts that can be said to be an advantage to the Oni. Now that we're only listening to survivors, we're not expecting much. Secondly, as I said before, the rotation rate is a big advantage for Oni. But I was very disappointed to see that the keyboard and the mouse were simultaneously used to make it impossible to rotate. Then I think this should apply to Hillbilly as well. And unlike Hillbilly, Oni have limited time to their abilities. I think this patch is unreasonable for a Oni user. That's all I have to say. Thank you.

Agreed, although he isn't what I'd consider a "big nut" in his current state although manageable.

Pretty certain S and W have no effect during his dash. You're just talking about strafing and turning your camera as hard as you can.

Dunno, seems like it slows me down quite a bit and makes him a little easier to control while dashing. Maybe S doesn't do anything, but W might speed you up. A mod would have to confirm though - maybe I'm just imagining things.

  • Yes, Bamboozle is a great perk to run on him since windows and vaulting spots make him easy to juke. Also try pressing S while dashing and taking a turn a little wider than normal - it doesn't take long and gives you much more control around those tight corners so you'll end up where you want to be.

  • @Exerlin said:

Wait, S actually does something?? I can't believe I never tried that. Does it just decrease your movement speed?

Yeah, it makes you move a little bit slower and gives you a bit tighter turning.

  • Thanks for clearing up the ambiguity. Is the turn rate ratio applied when he's at the end of his sprint, or is it his turning ability while he's sprinting?

  • You have to actively farm blood orbs off of an injured survivor, which slows your movement speed down considerably. Your reward when you fill up the gauge now? You can't punish survivors if they're not mindless robots and run in a straight line. Never mind if they run around a corner while you're tailing them.

Oni's now a high risk (terrible early game) and horrible reward killer. Myers has stealth, can feed his stalk with injured/uninjured survivors, and is very easy to punish survivors while he's in tier 3 with the right addons.

So, yeah - it is a big nerf heck.

  • You have to be an M1 killer to even get to power up, and now it's pretty much the same ordeal. Survivors can loop you around willy-nilly with windows, and coming out of the sprint still gives them a solid few seconds to jump through the window. Welp, GG Oni.

The devs are being radio silent/pretty vague on this, so I think it's going to be an issue that'll be tucked away for a long while.

  • Myers is now much better than Oni. Increased vault speed cancels out a lot of safe windows, and you can hold your tier 3 until you get right on a survivor. No need to go through any battle cry animation or charge up, just stab and they're down. They try to 180 you? Just flick your mouse. You don't even have to injure a survivor in order to stalk them.

For a killer that makes you play as a regular M1 killer in order to even get your power boosted up, it seems like a measly reward when survivors can now just dodge your charge out in the OPEN. You miss the charge attack? You'll suffer the same cool down as Billy, but now with less time on the clock - and you'll need to charge up your sprint ability again in order to make up for lost ground.

  • Thrilling Tremors and Surge work great together.

I think thats a good thing for him, i love clown but he cant do very well on big maps so maybe a form of pressure could be added? Like you can rig bottels on gens and over locations?

I think the biggest killer for the clown is the fact that his reload speed adds up to a LOT of time lost that could be used traversing the map.

  • I'd have the clown's basekit start with an extra bottle (soda bottle addon) and either the fingerless parade gloves addon or Ether 5 Vol%. THere'd need to be adjustments to his addons of course, but the basekit buff would make him much more viable IMHO as a clown main.

Unnerving presence is the one that shrinks skill check... overwhelming is the crappy one that increases item usage while in terror radius.

Shoot, I always get the two swapped. Yeah, in that case it's garbage

  • Nope, that's the way it's always been - it's part of her mind-gaming potential.

  • If you're in the Spirit's terror radius, you can't hear her phasing.

Would definitely ditch overwhelming presence... its trash.

Easy DCs if the survivor misses their DS skillcheck because of it.

  • I agree that the new map is way too dark in general as a killer - it's even worse playing as a nurse and having to deal with fatigue on top of how people can vanish when they're 5 meters away from you. Any killer that doesn't have a stealth ability will have to find survivors, who will most likely hide when they hear the terror radius.

  • The ever lasting issue for Dead By Daylight is that if a killer is fun to play, then the killer is also overpowered. If survivor is fun to play, then survivors are also overpowered. Nobody's going to be happy no matter what - even if Behavior released a magical patch that made everything and every single aspect of the game balanced, people are still going to complain because they lost.

How many people in general do you see posting positive things here on the forums? Not many.

Yea lets make trapper traps dont injure anyone for example, a very good buff in my opinion

Lol, he literally has 3 other addons that would be viable and you chose the meme one. Comon man

He needs a lot of things. His bottle is broken half the time when throwing it and with dedicated servers they seem to explode randomly on their trajectory towards your target. Had 5 games in a row varying from 30-60 ping and they would not reach the target I'm throwing them to half the time EVEN if it was an open field.

Personally I'd give direct hits with bottle some effect on survivors and increase his movement speed while reloading to 110% and outright rework the reload movement speed addons. Also I'd remove any slowdowns Clown receives when throwing bottles. That's my bias of course.

I do hate when I throw a bottle and since there's an obstacle that's knee-height the game decides that the gas will spawn directly where I am at but the bottle still flies on and does absolutely nothing.

Wait, Nurse got a nerf? I say this because as a Nurse main, I don't feel it.

I can still 4K in most games because the cool-down just delays my downs by a few seconds. 😁

That's not going to stop me and other great Nurses I'm sure.

Anyone that's already good with nurse before the changes isn't as affected by the nerfs, because you're still able to place your blinks well while in a chase. Basically, most people are complaining about the barrier of entry to the nurse (if you miss a blink and aren't running addons, RIP) as well as the extra cool down. A pain if you miss, but fine if you still land your blinks.

  • We should give all survivors the after-piece tonic! When thrown at the killer, the killer suffers from:

    *500% louder breathing noises*

    *100% louder chase music*

    *Severe camera disorientation*

    *Inverted controls*

    *50% movement speed*

Even Nurses with 1k hours can be juked. Sorry to tell you, but they are not Nostradamus, they won't predict every survivor move. Also, a Nurse without perks or add-ons will get destroyed by a good survivor team, no matter how good she is. Nurse kinda lacks mobility and map pressure without add-ons, so you can just gen rush and she can't do anything about it, especially if she gets a big map like Rotten Fields or Red Forest.

Any well coordinated survivor team will wipe the floor against pretty much any killer, especially if they spread out and do generators individually. Even killers that can teleport/travel to a generator relatively quickly can only place pressure on the person repairing the generator they teleport/travel to. That's why perks that affect all 4 survivors ability to repair generators are so important.

No she didn't. That was the addons that where the problem. Her base kit was fine. Now she has no map pressure and a weak chase on most maps.

I wouldn't say she has weak chase, from my experience. I do agree that her map pressure is much lower now, so she's much more reliant on information perks and making the most out of her blinks.

  • @Venom368 said:

The reason you don't see Nurse as much anymore is because of how high her skill-floor has become. At the highest level, Nurse is the only killer that can still 4k with no perks or add-ons if the killer makes no mistakes throughout the game.

Nurse will be the strongest killer in the game until she either gets deleted or reworked to have an ability that isn't 'blink'. A nurse that doesn't miss blinks does not have a counter. Juke all you want, but a nurse with 1k+ hours is going to predict you correctly every. single. time.

I'd imagine this is why the developers raised the skill-floor higher. The chances of you running into a nurse is lower since she's much harder to pick up and play, so there will be less people playing her overall (and thus getting better at playing her). I feel like she's going to be like hag - not many people play her, but the ones that do are great with her.

  • I just 4Ked 2 games in a row with Nurse. Granted, I've been playing her a while now and have gotten pretty good at placing/predicting blink locations, but it's not impossible to have fun with her.

I think her game play really comes down to snowballing and information - I run BBQ and Chili as well as Iron Maiden, so locating people after a hook is pretty easy as long as they're outside the minimum range of BBQ. She's still great at ending chases early if you've built up a muscle memory of her blink timing, and if you manage to have 2 survivors on hooks, the game is pretty much stalled. Discordance is also a handy perk for the early game.

I do understand that it's a much harsher penalty for missing blinks, especially if you're still learning her. It also hurts her a lot more after the nerf if you don't know where survivors are and spend precious blinks moving towards generators with nobody around them.

    Just my $0.02.

  • Sound has been acting up recently with DBD. Even running the silver spoon addon for Nurse with Stridor stacked on it, the audio for injured survivors is extremely muffled if they duck behind a medium-large object even without iron will. With iron will, this effect is even worse - top it with chase music, you'll lose them real fast.

I'd much rather run Bloodhound, which highlights the blood trails and makes them last longer. It is especially nice to keep track of survivors during Nurse's fatigue.

Yep yet survivors dont realise thats wraiths whole thing hes one of those killers you have be looking around for like my favourite tactic is hitting someone chase them for 5 seconds go invisible and head back to a gen and because people think im in a chase they dont realise until spine chill lights up or see him faintly or hear his bell which is why people assume your camping as him because they cant see so obviously if they cant see you you're instantly camping

Not much you can really do about a person's initial judgement of a killer. I've had times where I've played against P3 Claudettes and expected them to do the normal routine of flashlight clicking, tbagging, etc. Turns out they played very well and were good sports win or lose.

A thing you can do is be the shining example of a good Wraith killer. Sure, not everyone will be happy regardless of how you play ("You camped" even while you were halfway across the map). Also, people are naturally feisty when it comes to competitive games (Us VS. Them mentality), so don't take it too seriously.

I personally like to try to make the game fun and challenging for everyone, even if it means losing a pip or having someone toxic in the endgame chat say "GG ez". Just brush it off and have fun playing the game how you like it.

Yea because Behavior is a low budget indie company right? They totally don't have the resources to fix ranged combat, like how I dunno every other shooter style game in the past has.

With game development comes resource allocation. It'd be much more fruitful from a business standpoint to focus your game development team on creating new and exciting content to keep the player base engaged and growing. Just look at how much excitement the new chapter has garnered! If Behavior Interactive focused solely on balancing the killers/working on the servers to perfection without adding new content, people would get bored and move on.

While I'm sure that the huntress will get tweaks and changes just as every other killer has, I believe that there's not too much that can be done with hit boxes/latency as of currently.

  • In response to the OP, it seems that many more people become agitated when I play wraith than other killers. I believe the issue is that the Wraith is a killer that you always need to be on the lookout for while other stealth killers have easier counters to their stealth element (Myers - break LOS, Pig - run away while she's crouched, etc.). I think many people get upset when they feel like the killer gets a "free" hit on them while they weren't paying attention.

  • As snozer said, latency issues can and will mess with hit boxes. You'll get hit while you're ducked behind cover because the latency shows you still running for cover on the killer's screen as she throws the hatchet.

Not too easy a fix, sadly.

  • I think it'd be neat if they decorated the gens with different charms of larger size (maybe attached to the light post), similar to how the hooks have the large charms. There'd need to be a restriction of course on how many charms can be on a specific pole and how large they are.

Otherwise, I don't mind how small the charms are on character models. If they get too large, then they'll look clunky and disproportionate to the character models.

    Just my $0.02

  • Not to mention if you're running any totem perks it's a less of a chance that a survivor will spawn on/near a totem.
