  • The devs once again prove how detached they are from the killer experience.

  • I agree. Dead Hard feels cheap when used to correct a mistake and gain distance to a safe loop.

  • I've gone against some 4 man swf try hard, gen rushers, stacking brain dead second chance perks (DS + Unbreakable), with keys, running oOo and coordinating Head Ons, very fun and well balanced...

I don't mind going against two man swf or pairs of two, but I've already had some very unfun and annoying experiences after having played for about 2k hours. I've grown tired and bored of going against swf teams and I feel I don't get anything interesting out of it, so I'm no longer interested in making my gaming experience annoying and unfair for no good reason.

  • I understand survivors need a perk to counter tunneling, but right now DS is not just an anti tunnel perk, it can also be an anti momentum perk. In my opinion the current state of DS is bad game design. This is coming from someone with 2k hours who plays both sides on a regular basis. Why do I think that it is bad game design? Because it has no counterplay, activates after the player was outplayed or after the player messed up, in other words it requires no skill to activate or to be able to use it and in some cases allows the survivor to make very dumb plays that sometimes pay off and sometimes they don't, either way it can make the game annoying and unfair.

  • They sure look nice, but aren't very good gameplay wise. I couldn't see where the killer hooked a team mate in Ormond during the EGC. I'm afraid to try playing Trapper with the new auras, worried I'll step on my own traps. I've also heard that colorblind people are struggling trying to see the new auras.

  • Been experiencing the same.

    Platform: PC

  • Start charging your power and leaving trails when you are right behind survivors at a reasonable distance, you can hit them before they reach a pallet/window if theu commit to it or you'll force them to run away from the pallet/window.

  • I haven't had good results using corrupt on him because it takes me longer to find someone on a gen and reach tier 2.

  • Doesn't sound like a good idea, it would make stealth killers too powerful. From a realistic point of view people can turn their heads to look behind them, but it's true you can't concentrate properly on what you are doing if you do so, so I'd rather see gen speed go a little bit slower while looking behind you.

  • Before the ruin nerf I played every killer, but now I mainly play Ghostface, Myers and Freddy. I still play the others, but I tend to give priority to these three.

I don't main any survivor, because none of them have anything in particular that I like or relate to, but I would probably main Cheryl if she looked better.

  • Myers, you can also play the hit and run tactic with him using the add on Dead rabbit (which reduces your terror radius) and the nurse's + sloppy combo, plus he also has an instadown ability. You could add Monitor and Abuse to your build for an even smaller terror radius, but I thibk it's not worth it if you are already using Dead rabbit, his other two perks should be for map/geb control.

And like @LordGlint said, his add ons allow a different variety of playstyles.

  • Try these;

    Ruin + surveillance + nurse's + sloppy or thana

Corrupt + thana or pop + nurse's + sloppy or thana

    Pop or Corrupt + thana + nurse's + sloppy

BBQ or thrilling tremors + pop + nurse's + sloppy or thana

  • Like some have some already said; if you are good at applying pressure like ending chases quickly or knowing when to drop a chase it is good, specially combined with surveillance which gives you a lot of information for free while the perk is active because you no longer need to kick gens. I still use it with most killers except Trapper, Hag and Freddy.

I think an effect that ultimately bypasses every hook based perk survivors have should be difficult to achieve

That's why I'm on the fence wether his range attack should inflict torment or not, but It's not easy to torment a survivor if they know what they're doing; it's possible to prolongue a chase and get downed without getting tormented.

Also, I would only agree with your statement if the aura of the cage remained visible to the killer.

  • Ghostface is a good killer, fun to play, even more fun if you use map offerings for Lery's, The Game and such. I personally use thrilling tremors in a lot of builds, it has good synergy with pop and ruin, whichever you prefer.

  • You can't loop Pyramid Head like you would loop any other killer, I think you have to either drop the pallet early or run to another loop, depending where he is leaving his trail.

  • Seriously, I rarely see campers. But if you are coming across too many for some reason why don't you try this build; Deliverance + DS + Unbreakble + Tennacity or Slippery Meat.

  • I assume you already know the basic; hiding your red stain.

I also assume you know the difference between safe pallets and unsafe pallets, which pallet you need to break and which pallets you don't need to break in order to put someone in the dying state.

A basic advice that I think is valid for every killer; if a survivor doesn't give you a free hit before wasting a pallet, break the pallet and then go chase someone else; if you manage to get a hit, but don't get a survivor downed after two pallet drops, break the pallet and go chase someone else. You just want to commit if you see them running to a dead zone or going to an unsafe pallet.

Another advice is trying to focus on getting 9 hooks instead of 12, which means focusing on sacrificing two survivors first, while injuring the other two or making them waste pallets, however you might want to commit to a chase if you see the other two running to a dead zone or to an unsafe pallet.

Also, try using map offerings to avoid survivor sided maps if you are still learning how to play. Maps you'd want to avoid are Ormond and Haddonfield. Best maps  to learn how to run tiles are Mcmillan State maps and Yamaoka maps in my opinion.

And in some situations you might want to let the survivors finish a gen that is too far away from the others to make your patrol route smaller, sometimes it's not worth to defend a gen that is too far away.

Each killer is different, so might have to change your playstyle with some of them, but I think this tips can work with most of them.

  • See, the thing is thay you can't view each issue separetly because the game is more than just the sum of its parts (yeah, I agree with holism). With that being said, aren't killers supposed to apply pressure to counter a genrush in the game's current state? I'm not saying that slugging isn't an issue, what I'm saying is that it might be a symptom of a more complex problem, seeing it from a holistic perspective.

  • Pac-Man would be Op, he would eat all the pallets without getting stunned and eat the survivors too.

  • I haven't experimented too much, but I use Ruin + surveillance + nurse's + thrilling tremors.

  • I think Midwich will become my favourite one, but right now it's Lery's.

It's hard for me to choose what map I don't like, there are a few I dislike pretty much equally; Red forest, Ormond, farm maps, Haddonfield and Badham.

  • I would like to see Alma Wade, she could start in her child form with the undetectable status effect and stalk you to reach her adult form and increase her power. I have no ideq what her power could be, but I assume she should be able to teleport like Freddy does.

  • I don't know, maybe let Legion see scratchmarks while in Frenzy? I don't understand why some killers get penalties for using their abilities. I understand the penalties for missed attacks, but I see no reason for him to not be able to see scratchmarks.

Maybe get rid or Bubba's slowdown and cooldown when he is charging his chainsaw? That would give him more anti loop potential.

  • oops didn't mean to post anything.

    But nice work.

  • Some more blood and gore would be nice. I really like the gory and disturbing stuff on the new map. Freddy will fit very well in it.

  • I always tell them to come cry here (and ######### off).

She looks substantially better than Quentin. What are you talking about? If anyone is the female equivalent to Quentin, it's Laurie.

Oh, right. Forgot about Laurie. We didn't need another one of those. I hope they fix all of them at some point, including Quentin.

I believe it was stated Konami lost the source code of SH3 plus its asets. I do think they could've made her eyes alittle small and make her jacket's pokets stick out more.

I think they've also made her look thinner than she actually was.

Honestly, do these two look like the same person? I don't mean to be negative, I love the DLC and I think it's overall a good one, but I think they could've made a better job. She is like the female version of Quentin to me.

Oh, I knew something felt off about her. I think you nailed it.

  • I think he needs a buff, it should take longer to break free from the chain.

  • Obsession perks; you can only know who the obsession is by associating the name to a character, I assume that's a valid reason to show their names in case your strategy will be to avoid chasing or hitting the obsession.

  • "Imagine killing in the PTB"

That's what I got. Sounds as stupid as "Imagine doing gens" or "imagine not letting me sacrifice you". The entitlement is real.

Anyway, taking the game hostage is annoying as #########, not sure what I would've done in your situation and I don't know what's wrong with some people who play this game, some of the people in this community are real weirdos.

They don't need to effort a lot to get kills like before. Literally every patch and this one was strong af (they got rid of God pallets) and killers when they got well runned even with this nerfs they got mad and camp or tunnel.

Sorry, but that doesn't make too much sense to me.

I'm not sure if I understood correctly, but it seems that you're telling me that survivors can prolongue a chase and make a killer so mad that he will camp you once he finally hooks you. Did I understand correctly?

  • What do the nerfs have to do with camping? What survivor nerf has made camping easier than it was before?

  • I'd say Ghostface or Myers, stealth killers are very good with certain builds (nurse's and sloppy combo) and playstyles; for example when I play Myers I don't chase every survivor, I use a couple of them to feed my power until it's 99'd, maybe get them injured with sloppy or get a pallet drop and then focus on hooking the other two until they're dead. My favourite add ons are dead rabbit (which reduces your terror radius, works well with the nurse's + sloppy combo) and Scratched mirror. Throw in good map offerings like Lery's, Hawkins or the game and you get all the benefits of playing a stealth killer.

  • Yup, most games as survivor are really boring. That's why I'm a killer main now or maybe I play both sides equally, not sure. I still have my doubts about this so called bug, I also believe it's due to a lack of killers, but whatever the problem is I hope it's fixed soon.

  • I'm guessing it's this way because it would be harder to power the exit gates in a scenario in which there are only three or two gens left and only two or three survivors left, considering the fact that gen slowdown perks like pop or thana exist.

  • Don't lunge, do a quick attack instead, you'll have to turn a little but that's basically it.

  • What I find more weird is survivors playing stealthy, avoiding chases, but whatever. Not sure what people want to exactly test, but I'm interested in chases from both perspectives; I already know how to play stealthy.

  • Taking the game hostage sounds worse. I've actually had some scenarios in which two Claudettes hide and refuse to touch a gen when the rest of the team is gone. Makes me want to slug them and let them bleed to death, but I don't have time for that #########.

  • At first glance they do not look sexy to me to be honest. My point is that they fit better in a horror game, because they look more disturbing than the other ones, who make me have mixed feelings...

Just a matter of personal taste, I have nothing against so called "sexualized characters" in particular and I actually find that term kinda redundant in itself. I personally never use it.

  • Wraith.

I imagine he would remain cloaked and not move at all until one killer is left, tired and bleeding to finish him off.

  • There are some gens next to lockers, so that means you either eat the ds or let the survivor work on a gen for about 40 seconds or so, assuming you come across a survivor who was recently unhooked. Eating a ds in some scenarios can make you lose momentum and so can letting a survivor work on a gen for 40 seconds.

For me the problem with DS is not the locker tech, it's the fact that it remains active even when you are clearly not being tunneled.

I've never played Silent Hill, but weren't the nurses in SH2 deliberately dressed provocatively to symbolize James's sexual insecurities or something?

I think so, but they took it to another level on SH5.

  • If you are stressed the first you wanna do is to relax your shoulders, check if your muscles are tensioned and if they are try to let go, it's hard to explain what I mean, but hopefully you get the idea. Then check your breathing, try to breath normally in case you are breathing faster than usual.

Besides that; I like to listen to relaxing music, lay on my bed and not really think about anything, just listen, enjoy and feel the music. Playing the guitar also helps, so you might wanna play an instrument in case you know how to play one.

  • I say you wait for the new DLC, unless they nerf Pyramid Head, then buy Cursed Legacy. The Deathslinger isn't very good in my opinion; my main problem with him is that it's too easy for survivors to break free from the chain; it doesn't feel very rewarding to play as him, unless your shots are accurate and done at the right time most of the time, but that takes practice. Oni is easier to learn in my opinion.

  • I'm not sure, but I came across this and it sounds more similar to SH in my opinion.
