Whispers is really good.
-
Yeah, some survivors that are slugged bleed to death because I wasn't able to find them. Not fun for anyone.

Personally I gave up on the ranking system a long time ago.
But I don't find using the most overpowered things and stomping four survivors through unbalanced offerings and add-ons exactly enjoyable either. If I use the most over-powered add-ons with a mori, did I really "win"?
This is also the problem I have with survivor right now. Half of my games, I'm out of the exit gates and I maybe got chased by the killer once if I'm lucky. Sometimes I don't get chased by the killer at all. Did I really "win"?
The developers can't even define what a "victory" is in this game. Until we can define a victory, we'll never be able to have a good ranking system. I've never played an online game before with a ranking system where there's several ways to win, ways to lose even when you should have won, and ways to win even when you should have lost.
I understand and I agree with you. It's hard for me to take the game seriously for all these reasons.
I don't think the game is properly designed and properly balanced, so I only play "fair" when I use a map offering on a map that I consider is balanced, otherwise I bring a mori because I know I won't have fun playing on maps that I consider to be broken.
-
Well, I'm still having fun juggling with Wraith, Ghostface and Myers and using map offerings or moris.
Also, Unlimited evil within 3 with Corrupt intervention + Nemesis + PWYF + infectious is hilarious.
-
I feel the same way. After the update I've stopped playing survivor.

If a killer uses a mori, chances are even if they 4k, they're going to black pip, or even worse, depip because the chaser emblem on some killers is trash.
In terms of what the game considers a win I know it's a lot easier to pip as a survivor, it doesn't even matter if you die. You could say the game is survivor sided under those terms.
I personally think the ranking system is a joke, I can hardly take it seriously; because it's kinda broken and there's nothing rewarding about it once you get to rank 1 and get the achievement. I personally have more fun using moris than worrying about rank and I mostly play because I want to have fun, not because I want to rank up. What about you?
-
It's only survivor sided because killers don't use moris, but actually killers have a very strong tool at their disposal they simply refuse to use for different reasons.
But I know what you mean, playing survivor has become much more boring after the ruin nerf to the point in which I'm barely touching survivor. I had more fun trying to hit hex skill checks to avoid the regression penalty, that made doing gens more interesting.

Wraith for me, I have no idea why, it must just suit my playstyle - always if I have a bad streak, I stick on Wraith and I play better...I think it's probably because I'm more used to playing this killer than any other, and it really suits my playstyle.
Same here. When I depip twice or three times playing other killers I'm returning to Wraith to get my pips back. What's your build? I've been using two:
Ruin + surveillance + nurse's + sloppy
And nurse's + nemesis + pwyf + stbfl
Add ons are always bone clapper and windstorm.
I seriously haven't lost a game with any of these builds yet. Before the ruin nerf I played almost every killer and hovered around rank 4-5, but after the ruin nerf I've played mostly Wraity and reached rank 1 again.
-
I think it was originally a 3 second stun, but enduring countered that so they increased the stun to 5 seconds. They later nerfed enduring but left the 5 seconds stun, maybe because 3 seconds wasn't enough for the survivor to gain some distance.
Anyway, I think ds isn't that strong against Spirit and Wraith.
-
Running to me trying to bait bt when they're dead on hook (I wait 15 seconds) already used their ds or when I brought a mori.
-
I'm using ruin + surveillance + discordance.
I save the forth perk slot to experiment and try different things; so far I find these useful: nurse's, sloppy, make your choice, knockout, deer stalker, noed, bloodwarden, remember me.
-
The devs want to balance around 2 kills/two escapes. If two gens are finished you still have a fair chance of getting 2k or even a 4k if you focus on hooking two survivors and on juggling the other two until you get one of those two out of the game asap.
I still think gens can get done too fast tho, because you can lose three gens unless you play dirty and survivors don't ######### up, but I don't think that's fun for anyone.

Wraith.
-
He needs nemesis + pwyf + stbfl for now; faster clown, slower intoxicated survivors.
-
Some people just want to watch the world burn.
-
Honestly I think they are just doing what the important people are expecting them to do; which is make more money with the game.
-
It's kinda stunning that some players consider that in order to have fun playing killer some players seem to need to resort to some sort of group therapy. It would be even more stunning if the players felt they actually need to prepare mentally and emotionally in order to enjoy the game. This game really is quite something else if that's the case.
-
Mattieu is that you?
-
I just tried tru3's build on Wraith; nemesis + pwyf + stbfl + nurse's, game ended in a 4K (red ranks).
And one of the good things about that build is that you don't need to worry about getting stunned by ds because you'll get a pwyf ticket.
-
Long queue times, shorter matches, bad matchmaking have made me stop playing survivor, but I still play a couple of games as killer.
-
Yeah, I've noticed. Now everyone knows.

Insert: "Why not both" meme here.
I know end game builds are memes but if they are fun for them why shouldn't they go full meme?
Killer role is widely considered too stressful atm so who cares if they have fun.
I guess it depends. I think you still have a fair chance to pip or get a 4k if you play top tier killers (Spirit, Nurse, Billy, Ghostface). In my opinion noed is a wasted perk slot for them, because I don't think you really need it to down a survivor once all gens are done (but I suppose that depends on how confident you feel). Besides, Noed may not activate at all and it can be easily countered cleansing the totem. On the other hand; there's nothing you can do against rancor and you can open the exit gates yourself to activate blood warden.
But whatever, if you are going full endgame build, then why not use noed + bloodwarden + rancor, then? But I'm personally not a fan of endgame builds unless I'm play a killer with low mobility that barely has a chance now I guess.
-
I used to be a survivor main, but since the ruin nerf, everytime I hit a great skill check I feel that the game will not last longer than the time I spent waiting to get into a game and holding M1 to hit regular skill checks is boring and less challenging than trying to avoid the old regression penalty.
I'm still having some fun playing top tier killers and using moris tho.

3 gens down and 1 hook?
I guess if you're putting too much time into chasing someone or they're a really good team.
-
No, I wouldn't recommend it, I think bloodwarden or rancor would be a better choice.
-
Discordance might help more than nurse's.
-
-
I think we can all agree that when survivors dc their objective is to punish you for their own mistakes most of the time; make you depip, make you waste an offering like bps and such, I mean they obviously care more about punishing you than anything else. Of course there are exceptions, but I think the most consistent motive is to punish the killer.

Based on those five sounds like you enjoy a challenge, or at least surprising survivors. Maybe Wraith so you can have all the stealth killers under your belt? Hag is pretty sneaky too with M&A and certain addons.
Oh yeah, Wraith is also good, with bone clapper and windstorm add ons.
-
I'd go for Demogorgon or Hag. After the ruin nerf Ithink you better play killers that can move fast across the map .
-
In my opiniom survivors should also expect someone to die in the first two minutes of the game, because I think killers should start using moris more often.

lol imagine complaining about Clown, arguably the weakest killer in game atm.
The day they nerf clown, that's probably the day the ######### finally hits the fan.
-
Save them.
-
Ghostface.
-
I'm having fun with Ghostface, Wraith, Freddy, Spirit and Jumpscare myers before they nerf them.
-
Yes, there's a bug. I've noticed that if I crouch I start making noises again.
-
I just moried four survivors with Legion and got a black pip, I think maybe the dc is what made you depip. How many gens did they finish? Because these guys only got two before I killed them all.
-
I'd rather they make something similar to Fire Up basekit.
-
@The_Bootie_Gorgon said:
I've started not worrying about gens and instead have been focusing my perk setups on things that help me find/track survivors so that I can give them hugs...
Clown's new cosmetic sure fits with the current state of the game.
-
I am kinda nice to killers tho; I don't bring keys and I put away my toolbox if someone else has one, but not precisely because I want to be nice to them, it's because I want matches to last longer than 5-6 minutes after waiting 15 minutes for a lobby.

Okay so, I'm a Killer main, I've had the game for two months now and made it to green ranks, however, at the moment, I'm having trouble picking out what perks I should use for my main three killers to make the best I can out of them: Ghostface, Spirit and Demogorgon.
At the moment my perks are:
Ghostface - Thrilling Tremors, Bitter Murmur, Surveillance and I'm All Ears.
Spirit - Rancor, Spirit Fury, Iron Grasp, Hex: Haunted Ground
Demogorgon - Spirit Fury, Surge, Thrilling Tremors and Iron Grasp
Anyone know what perks I should swap out and replace for better ones?
Ghostface - Ruin, Surveillance, Nurse's, Sloppy. This isn't really a build meant for long chases, it's meant for hit and run tactics, sneaking up on injured survivors that are healing or repairing gens. You can use the same build and tactic with Wraith.
Spirit - Ruin + Surveillance + discordance + Nurse's/Sloppy/Pop/Noed/Make your choice/Or whatever you find useful.
Demogorgon - Ruin, surveillance, discordance. Very useful if you place your portals near gens.
-
Because survivors are Freddy's bitches when they're asleep.

My point is at your direct statement about Hag being easy. You're deliberately misconstruing the context of the discussion.
I'll put it simply.
Survivor is easy because gens are easy to find and repair. They do not actively try to prevent survivors from repairing them. This makes gens easy to repair. Repairing gens is a survivor's primary objective. A survivor's primary objective is easy, which means the job of a survivor is easy.
Killer is not as easy because survivors can be difficult to find. They actively try to prevent killers from downing and sacrificing them. This makes hooking survivors more difficult than repairing generators. Sacrificing survivors is a killer's primary objective. A killer's primary objective is more difficult than a survivor's which means the job of a killer is more difficult than the job of a survivor.
Survivor is easier than Killer.
/thread
And it just became more boring, it was fun trying to hit the hex skill checks.
-
I'm pretty much done with the game for now, I used to main survivor, but the game has become so unfair that I don't feel like playing anymore, I feel like me and my team have way too many second chances. Escaping doesn't feel challenging or rewarding anymore and playing survivor feels more like grinding/farming for bloodpoints and messing around with the killer. I wonder if that's what playing survivor is about now? Grinding for the rift? Because it sure feels like that, but I don't care about unlocking anything right now.
I will still play killer, just not as often as I used to.
-
Not at all.
-
I've been trying surveillance and discordance, I think they work pretty well with his ability if you place portals near the gens.
-
I don't know if you're interested, but I just tried ruin + surveillance + discordance on Demo, ruin didn't last longer than two minutes but it still gave me some information that allowed to me to pressure the gens early in game, injure a couple of survivors and get a hook right after a gen was completed. After it got cleansed surveillance and discordance were still giving me useful information and I placed my portals near the remaining gens; survivors either gave away their position or wasted time closing the portals. In the end one guy rage quit to give his swf buddy the hatch and I didn't get the pip I deserved. Feels bad, but whatever.
But I think it's necessary to point out that I've completely changed my playstyle since the update; I no longer try to hook everyone three times, instead I focus on hooking two survivors 3 times (6 hooks) while injuring/slugging the other two or at least making them waste a pallet.

you shouldn't need to ue 2-3 perks together in a combo to make 1 useful, especially when one perk in the combo is a hex
I agree.
But I already started running surveillance with Wraith and Ghostface before the update to track down survivors working on gens and sneak up on them. I see the new ruin as a buff to the build that I was already using.
Injuring three or four of them is very similar to having three stacks of Devour Hope without having to hook anyone, if survivors don't waste time healing or looking for the totem they become extremely easy targets. So, I think that at least in this scenario the new ruin works in your favor; they either become extremely easy targets or they have to waste time healing or looking for the totem. I honestly think it's a small buff to the playstyle and build that I was using.
As for for Freddy and Spirit; I already ran surveillance and discordance with them ocassionally and I think you have a similar scenario; if the survivors don't waste time healing or looking for the totem they become easier to track down which allows you to pressure the gens more effectively.
However, even if I managed to get a 4k with Clown and Legion running the same build, I still have my doubts it will be a strong build for low mobility killers. I need to play some more games.
