Myers. Bubba. Pig. My 3 killer picks, forever and always. I dabble with others but those 3 i consisently do well with, for all the reasons Tyde said, so i guess put me down as one of the few who agrees with him.

There is no RNG. One box is the correct one, all others are not. Skill checks don't matter.
-
No good player will try to camp because it simply is a stupid tactic. Survivors with any brain will just do the gens while you are afk in front of the hook and leave. Comitting to camping will simply make you lose the game against competent survivors.
And what we see here is silly Survivor logic that doesn't fit with reality. This kind of thing is how you know they don't seriously play Killer and thus can't be taken seriously.
-
Yeah, at this point i just take salt in any game, especially DbD, as a sign of absolute victory even if i got 0 kills. They were mad enough to flip out and rage; for a time, i had control over their emotions and behavior. That is a win, and i'll take it.

Nope, people would just stop playing Billy and you'd see nothing but Nurses til she got nerfed, then no Killers at all. Remember how Freddy got nerfed into the ground a week after release and now he's a joke? That's what would happen.

Killers regularly getting 50k+ and the most I've seen any survivor get is 26k. Usually it's 15-20k lol.I understand killers don't need any secondary objectives but they could have made survivors be able to get a decent amount of BP.
Survivors can also keep their items and addons or even gain new ones in the game itself. Killers always lose their addons, and that's way worse because Killers rely heavily on addons to be effective. It's fine, and you're welcome.

I sometimes find that I will be so wrapped up in chases, hunting, hooking (lol) and other in game activities that I will go for an entire match\trial without taking a drink of my beverage (be it beer, spirits or wine).Almost every other game I play has almost built in opportunities for me to use at least one hand a grab a quick drink, but there are times when I finish a match and notice my drink is starting to get warm or the ice is beginning to melt because I have had to use both hands to play effectively.
I propose there be a built in 10(ish) second pause (for all players) every 5 minutes or so, so that players can drink more easily while playing.
How am I supposed to get tipsy if I have to wait for the match to end to drink?!? And why should I risk a loss by stopping my play to drink?
And before it is suggested: no, I am not going to rig a camelback or some other device to drink from a straw. I am a grown man!
Behavior, please fix this broken system as soon as possible!!!
Play survivor and you will get bored so fast holding M1 with your one finger while drinking that you will have to rush the games even faster next game when you realize you have drunken too much

Btw, considering how short the games are in DBD, you can have a drinknig pause after every game.
If you really feel the need to take a drink while playing killer and cant wait until the game has ended, wait until you have hooked someone and employ the tactic called "camping" while drinkingThis is what i do, seriously. A lot of time when i'm 'camping' i'm rolling and lighting a cigarette, drinking soda, or eating. More than a few times some brave survivor just ran up and got an unhook because my hands were full.

Secondary objectives should continue to be optional. When completed they should: 1. Help towards the primary objective somehow, 2. Be worth a good chunk of extra BP, 3. Take a bit of time to complete. From off the top of my head there could be motion activated spotlights though out the map, particularly around generators and exit gates, that really illuminate the area. Killers will not be able to trigger these. They will activate when survivors walk, run, crouch or crawl past a certain activation cone in front of them. When activated they make a distinct noise that scares nearby crows away (indirect buff to Spies?).
Survivors will be able to dismantle them from behind. It will take a bit of time and be a little noisy. Up to two survivors can do it together and it will be a bit faster and quieter. You get 1000 BP for dismantling one and it'll go toward Survival.
Weaker perks could then be buffed around this mechanic. Sabotage maybe increases the speed of dismantling. Technician makes dismantling silent. Resilient and This Is Not Happening could activate when you perform actions within the spotlight even while healthy, and maybe increase the values a bit while in the spotlight AND injured. Lightweight could make it so you can walk, crouch and crawl past spotlights without activating them (but not sprint).
This is brilliant, and i'll do you one better: The spotlights only activate when a gen is completed.

I don't have these problems, on any Killer. And I kill people with traps quite often. In fact, my Pig games rarely don't net me 1-2 kills, and are very often 4k's. The problem isn't the Killer, it's how silly people play her. It's a known fact that most people are bad.

I even got tunneled and camped by a pig that had Make Your Choice.
You miss the point of RBT's. They aren't meant to be something you slap on and then ignore the survivor. But i won't get into that; if you didn't understand that simple fact already, you aren't going to no matter what anyone says.

oh i dont really care to discuss with someone ive already deemed ignorant, but ill mention just one, F13.
F13 failed because it was never a good game to begin with and they got crushed legally. People weren't going to buy into a game that was never going to be successful. Its not because they didn't listen to their community.
Dead By Daylight has shown consistent growth since it was released. SteamCharts.com shows them averaging 23k players last month. The forum has a few hundred of the players, and most people who come to forums aren't the average player. We are not the majority on the forums.
no, f13 was rapidly dying since launch way before the legal issues, and the community told them every single day that they want to pick killer or survivor instead of being randomly assigned. this one thing turned players away far faster than any other issue.
Can confirm. This more than anything else made me stop bothering with F13.

That's called sandbagging, and most Killers will ignore everyone else and tunnel you out of the game for it.

Except if all gens are done you certainly wont be getting an iridescent in that category if you're stood around with insidious in the basement.
This is not true. I do it all the time, and people bring me enough points for chase to make it worth it. Even when I TRY to derank i can't, because survivors stupidly hunt me down and get in my face, refusing to do gens while teabagging in a circle and eventually forcing me to kill them.

Sure. Punish people for not playing games they don't find fun. Then you will be assured to get no games because all the Killers will just quit.

Forget it. You will get more points hooking different survivors than tunneling one. Only time you should camp the hook is you know someone is near or exit gates are powered
I play for the kills, and hooking typically leads to more kills as the rest of the survivors stop doing gens to go save one person. Points are your goal, killing is mine.

I'd guess saying BHVR supports DC is downright crazy. Sure they don't punish teabagging and other stuff that's considered "toxic" by some (whatever "toxic" means), bu they're clearly against DC-s. That said, I'm completely for a MUCH harsher punishment system for disconnecting, I've also had sometimes 8-9 games with at least one DC in a row. No excuse for that, be it "tunneling" or some other made up rationalization. We need many players for dbd of course, to keep lobby waiting time to a minimal, but we don't need those idiots who can't deal with being downed.
I'm a little sidetracked here, but I also gotta say, survivors should also receive at least a slight bonus BP- or pipwise when another survivor DC-s early on.
You mentioned jendenise: I'm not 100% sure, but I think she only disconnects around the end of the game, which does not make a lot of difference. Maybe someone can confirm it; but if this is the case, then it's an entirely different story.I know for a fact that BHVR does not care to actually punish DC'ers. Some people know exactly how manygames they can DC without repercussion, and they abuse it - DC x number of games, then play bad in a few more to avoid ranking up, DC more when its safe, repeat. They game the system and its obvious. I know one streamer that does it regularly and there's a BHVR employee who is a huge fan of his and is one of his top donators.

Its sad that you want me to intentionally make openings for you and play like an idiot because you survs are entitled. This is a copy paste message notifying you that if a killer KNOWS 1 or more other survs are within 20m of the hook they too are allowed to patrol said 20m instead of going wandering off so you guys can feel better about your fake altruistic selfves. Also non copy paste message. Spirit like the wraith has the problem of because of her stealth and mobility being seen to camp when shes not. she relies on mind games, switching targets and seemingly random, and hauling across the map. This means she will appear to be camping sometimes when in actuality she was very far away in mid chase.
This is a classic 'I didn't see you coming so you must've been camping' event that occurs for the pig, myers, wraith, and now spirit.
Also can I just say that I get really tired of the people that claim theres no skill involved in camping? knowing when to guard the hookl instead of making the game easier for survs takes a large amount of skill and awareness. managing the hooked survivor while 2-3 are all twirling around you actually takes some serious effort. especially when you know they're running borrowed time. In fact I would say far more skill than is required in your typical chase for most killers.
Quoted For Truth. Stealthy Killers get accused of camping no matter what. Just because YOU don't know where I am doesn't mean i'm camping.

I can't seem to find any counter to it. At all. With the exception of SS... And telling anyone to run this trash perk is like telling a Wraith or Mikey to run Distressing...(unless you're purely farming BP)
It took them how long for Calm Spirit to help counter The Doctor... but.. I'm sure I'm going to regret asking any type of questions regardless of my playtime. I feel like the dev is constantly kicking Solo players in the nads while doing nothing to SWF as both Killers and Solo players have mostly crappy games when paired against SWFs(the sandbagging etc)
The counter to rancor is to get the hell out...immediately. Don't dance around at the gates, don't go back looking for boxes, when the gates open leave. Counter it the same way you counter noED...LEAVE!
NOED can be broken and even if you are hooked you can be saved. Rancor cannot be broken, reveals everyone for 3 seconds and allows you to be moried instantly.
I never use obsession perks and for the most part some random player using D-strike will get it, but I have had games where I was never even seen until the VERY END of the game and instantly got moried because I randomly got selected for obsession. I do feel like it seems unfair if you become the obsession without having used any obsession perks.
I don't think the perk is over powered just a very anti-climatic/un-fun thing to have happen to you during a match. Something that can instantly kill you simply because the game chose you as obsession. Its different if you bought d-strike in and gambled with the possibility.
I find the perk to be fun trying to guess if the killer has this perk. Also wondering if it is worth saving the other survivor. This bring a great side to game far as horror.
You don't have to guess. You can see the Killer every time a gen is completed, and thus know for a fact he has it.

I’ve been noticing some killers leave the obsession down like a fool and never pick them up because they are running rancor and don’t want to waste it , lol that’s supposed to be a last line of defense at the end game, I don’t understand why they would let the game get to that point to use one perk and totally ignore the main objective
Thats what I have done pre-patch too. Usually its better to slugg the DS instead of losing momentum
No way man you’re way better off to try to finish everyone before the gens are done, when you leave someone down you’re offering second chances you don’t have as a killer, leaving the ds down and letting them get back up everytime is the equivalent of getting ds and them getting away everytime you catch them , you might as well give them a chance to waste it and hook them to put more pressure on the survivors.
You are, again, wrong. Most Killers slug or ignore obsessions because moe than likel they're using DS. Sometimes I just get the DS out of the way if i'm not using rancor, buy if I am i just ignore or leave them on the ground. i can always just kill them later.

What it does is make looping an even better tactic than before.Nope, he's absolutely correct. As survivors have more and more ways of being punished for brazenly hold Shift + W all game, stealth will become more and more important. those who refuse to adapt will find themselves losing more and more often until they either change their playstyle or quit.
But more likely, they'll just quit because as a great many survivors have told me: Stealth is boring, chases are fun and being immersed is for losers.

i thought this topic was about how they destroyed the maps? hook spawns are broken and have been forever. spread them out more. make a set spawning area on each map for hooks. discussion over.now onto these maps changes. tons of loops are gone now in every map. like 6 patches ago killers got a buff to vault speed, then came the clown who is a looping destroyer in himself let alone bamboozle. the pallet vacuum disappeared during the same patch and the changed the stun time to occur during the middle of the drop instead of the beginning (hence people getting smacked through pallets all day) pallets were "redistributed" or however they stated it like 4 patches ago as well then after that they completely took pallets away in certain spots too. god forbid im forgetting anything important here
everything i said in the middle paragraph can be found in the patch notes, they're all entirely true. i gotta ask you killers......how many more breaks do u need lol? can u not catch someone unless they're forced to run in a straight line or out in the open? generators are the issue. i've never understood why this game is one of the very few that DOES NOT balance gameplay around the objective. fix gens lol so killers have more time to m1 us
And you're as wrong as everyone else. No pallets were removed, the ones that did get taken from a spot just spawn elsewhere now.

To the team as a whole, as long as they aren’t complete morons and don’t feed he camper, it’s a weak strategy.
Its all on the Survivors not to be idiots and feed a camper.
With ruin etc. it's not.
It's one of the most powerful strategies of the game and if you feel otherwise, you just are simply wrong.
Getting a survivor within 120 seconds out of the game is powerful as [BAD WORD].
You just have to camp properly, knowing all the survivors locations and know when to leave the hook, even when only for a short period.
Guessing you’ve not faced the high rank Survivors like myself, who just blow through Ruin hitting all the Great Skill checks like it’s nothing?
Camping only works against bad Survivors.
Then i've played against nothing but bad survivors for the past two years from rank 20 to rank 1 every damn game, because the only time it doesn't work is when I make a mistake or just get screwed by RNG. Survivors cannot resist being altruistic; hook one, and you'll get at least one more, guaranteed. Properly 'camping' is actually not standing in one place, its maintaining control of the hooked person and the map at the same time.

Rancor can't disable the exposed status, but no recover or speed boost. On top you see the survivors for a few seconds every time they finish a gen. with the trade off you see them for 5/4/3. when all the gens are done you can Mori your obsession though.
Personally I'm not a great player but I'd say Rancor beats NOED.
NOED is the best perk you can have in my opinion
Nope. Rancor makes the game a 1v3 from the srart because you can just ignore the obsession, tunnel the other 3 down, and finish them at your leisure.
NOED just lets you clean up at the end of a game or come back from a bad game (if the totems don't get cleansed before or after, and you can find and catch someone before the gates open).
Both have their place, neither is superior to the other, but I give Rancor the edge because it has benefits for the entire match rather than just the endgame and it can't be taken away before it ever even activates. And honestly, you could just run both and nearly guarantee yourself a few kills.

• All teachable perks can only reach tier 2
• When playing survivor the game is darker than killer
This, and the Survivor info hub would go away in an instant. No notification of Exposed, no idea how hurt other survivors are unless you see them with your own eyeballs or get told via voice, innate aura reading gone. if you want to read auras, take the perks -if somebody gets hooked, you physically look for them. if someone is slugged, you have to find them if you don't have a perk to help you see auras. Less information for Survivors gives Killers back some control of the game and brings back some fear and uncertainty.
I'd also eliminate Bloodlust and introduce a stamina system that made survivors lose speed the longer they run, though they'd never drop more than about 10-15% speed. The current exhaustion perks would burn stamina very, very quickly when used.
Next, every Killer would get one 'free' totem perk slot ONLY usable for totems. Survivors would get a slot for choose one of their personal teachables for free.
Hooking would no longer be the only viable option for Killers. Getting slugged to death would still award the sacrifice points, and after two downs the Killer would have the option to Mori a survivor. Moris would go away as an item.
I'd fold DLC killer maps into other mapsets - add the game to the MacMillan maps, Haddonfield and Badham would get combined with Lery's.
Rebalance all the maps to be fun and fair for BOTH sides. This means more stealth options, less pallets and more mobility options for both sides.
last but not least, crutch perks like Self-care would get balanced and healing would become far more time-consuming and difficult. More stealth options would be added in, such as going prone. Some environmental objects would be destructible by Killers; taking the time to destroy a window to prevent vaulting would be valuable time spent. Taking time to go around and destroy pallets would be worthwhile.
-
Self-Care is the problem. This is a mechanic i've suggested before, but the existence of Self-care as it is now ruins it. A mechanic where injured Survivors bleed out and eventually go into the Dying state would be a fine solution to many of the shenanigans we see in this game, and bleeding faster while running would promote stealth as a viable tactic again. Alternately, revisit the idea of a 'weakened state', wherein once you've been injured or downed it takes longer and longer to heal each time. Then Self-care could stay as-is and injury would actually matter. Maybe after 3 hits or 1 down you just plain get mangled for the rest of the game, and ONLY a medkit can remove it, not self-care.

First a DbD 2 would have to do one thing as the foundation of the game: make it a real horror movie experience, as close as possible while still being fun to play. This means:
1.No frustrating mechanics on either side. Killers and Survivors both at no point are rendered useless or helpless by game mechanics.
2. Survivors' best option is always avoidance of the killer via stealth, with direct confrontation being a failure state. The word 'immersed' needs to be the watchword for both sides; if you're doing something that makes no sense in the context of a Horror movie, then its breaking immersion and needs to go.
3. Different maps with different objectives. On Some maps, hooking all survivors will be the way to win. On others, keeping generators down for x amount of time/as long as possible while survivors try to repair them is the objective. Some maps might have survivors gathering items to take to central points and make their escape, and on some maps you just hunt them down, down them and kill them.
4. Every Killer and Survivor should be unique and viable at all levels of play. Every character option (perks, addons, offerings) should be potentially valuable. No must-have perks or items that are basically resource taxes because you cannot succeed without them.
5. Separate Ranked and Casual modes.
6. Dedicated servers. I'm tired of getting accused of cheating/lag switching because some Survivor had a ######### connection.
7. Customization! Offer tons of cosmetic options to customize Killers and Survivors.
8. Frequent balancing. when something is overpowered, underpowered, or working incorrectly it should be fixed quickly, not after months or years of being broken.
9. Atmosphere. This is crucial - survivors should never feel completely safe and Killers should feel like dangerous murder machines.
10. Balance the Survivor side with solo and group play taken into account. Voice comms should not give such a huge advantage that solo players may as well not bother. This means survivors should not have so much information that all sense of uncertainty is eliminated.
10. Fun. Both sides should be fun at all levels. I want to enjoy Killer and Survivor without feeling like either one is easy mode. -

I'm with you here @S0ckenSchuss. Well , I might tunnel more than you'd like to, but I don't enjoy it particullary ... and I wouldn't do it if I didn't suck as a killer, and I wonder why I can't practice and get better playing survivors with roughly the same skill level as me. Anyways ...Since there seems to be a lot of videogame nihilistic players out there, thinking that honor and respect are useless, I'd recommand an in game self-ban button. In real life, when you play cards in a club, no one is obliged to play with people who are rude and disrepectfull. There is no need for a written codex ; all you do is not playing at the table with rude people. In DBD there should be a button to prevent being paired with a specific toxic player. That way, there would be no need of moderation whatsoever, because rude kids would be recongnized by each players and be banned individually from their games. After some time, we can imagine those bratts having fewer and fewer people to play with, until they find themselves waiting too long for a game, and quit the game entirely.
But this is also a double edged solution, since any self rightous player might bann too many people for no reason and slowly exclude themselves from the games.
Playing to win is not being rude or disrespectful. You seem to think that survivors are entitled to have infinite second chances, but nobody cares about their made-up rules. Hell, give me a ban button - i'd never play against an SWF'er again, and be happy to wait as long as I had to for quality games.

'Camping and tunneling...strategies' oh my godWhy do you moan? According to devs they are strategies as well.
I was the one who wanted something that will decrease camping and tunneling in the game. I said that killers had no benefits if they let survivors escape and try to choose other targets. Here is what I have said.
I generally play survivor and tunneling is very frustrating for me. So when I play as a killer, I deliberately try to avoid tunneling but hooking different survivors rather than focusing on a single survivor and eliminating him from the match doesn't feel rewarding. Do you have any plan to reward killers who do not camp and tunnel?
Here is the link. 5th post is mine.

You can go and watch what devs think about camping or tunneling. They think we should not force people to do something.
You have this clear evil killers who try to drain survivors' fun. Nope killers are generally not like that. They try to win and even though camping is not a great strategy, tunneling is the most efficient way for the killer to eliminate his targets. At the end of the day, every single player will try to play optimally.
You sure require massive amount of skill and you doing nuclear theory in your head to be efficient while straight up looking at the Survivor on the hook, i'll say it again, camping=no skill required or 'strategy', tunneling=again, it's really hard and resourceful action to do, following the just unhooked Survivor like a mindless sheep until you catch up to him, which is most likely instantly because camping/tunneling go hand in hand
Preach baby, preach !

But as long as it works, Killers are still gonna do it. And you know why it works?
Because Survivors allow it to by making bad plays. In no competitive scene in the history of ever has anyone who actually wanted to win not capitalize don their opponents' mistakes. So...too bad, so sad. Go reviewbomb the game til the devs give survivors invulnerability after being hooked or something. That always works.

I enjoy camping and tunneling Survivors, and it gets me wins. It's fun for me. So i'm gonna keep doing that. If you don't wanna die, don't get caught. If you want to kobe, you better be able to escape me after you do. Otherwise no quarter, no mercy, no second chances.
