Next up to ride the nerf train because she's 'unfun' (i.e. able to win consistently against Survivors): the Spirit.
-
My new rule is: Never press 'Play as Killer'. In fact, its not even that. Now it's: Never re-install Dead by Daylight.

But it's still wrong and horrible game play. All trolls have to do is run the basement aura perk and there is one free salty kill right there. Catch two in there trying for a rescue and you just killed half the team.
"People should never play in a way that prevents me from doing what i want without any consequences whatsoever. I'm entitled to never be threatened or in serious danger of actually being punished for my mistakes."

You might wanna listen to Orion. You DID lose credibility once you started screaming casuals.
Then refute my claim. Show me why this casual, non-competitive, not-gonna-try attitude demonstrated across this community isn't a cancer eating the game alive. Because every justification i've ever seen for DbD's major mechanical screwups boiled down to 'I had to try, and trying isn't fun'. Even the poster i quoted said as much. And they're not the only one.

Here's why I'm addressing you, and not the other guy. You made good points, with the exception of what amounts to "communism is ruining gaming". Now, I happen to agree with you on those good points, but this one absurd notion makes you lose credibility, and by association, it makes all those who agree with your good points lose credibility.
I'd rather not have good points be ignored just because someone whom I happen to agree with also made some ridiculous statements. Yes, association is a fallacy, but it is one that is often used to dismiss criticism, and I'd rather avoid that if at all possible.
So, not just for your own sake, but for the sake of everyone who makes good points, don't bring communism into this.
'What amounts to?' now you're attributing things to me i didn't say at all. You are dismissed until you aren't setting up strawmen and starting fights that have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

You all wanted dedicated servers to be the ultimate solution, but as many people said they won't be. You're still going to get hit when you stand on the other side of a window teabagging or vault too late; you'll still see lag, but now you can't blame the Killer for lag switching. You're still going to be just as bad as you were, but with less viable excuses.
Keep up the work on the dedicated servers, devs. I'm going to enjoy all the people who still suck finding new reasons why they can't grasp basic logic. My bet is on 'it's bad netcode!'

Tip: If you want to be taken seriously, don't bring political ideologies into opinions on playstyles.
What political ideology? Casual and communistic are not in any way strictly 'political; terms, and in the case of casual not at all. Why don't you have anything to say about the poster quoted who stated that people who don't play as they do are actually terrible human beings? You have a problem with one word that can also be used in a political context, but you're okay with 'all these people who play a game in a way i dont are bad human beings?'
Where are your priorities?

I only want to discuss the issue of people hanging around inside the gate. The reason people do this (at least, up until now) was for two reasons: to see if anyone else needed help, and to 'say goodbye' to the killer. It was a good game, take care, have a free hit as I leave for some points, etc. If I know everyone is safe, I go right out (I don't want to lose my item to Franklins).
I hope people still behave this way in the future. Sometimes, when I get saved from a hook at the end, I have no idea where the exits are. I run away and hide so I don't get killed right away, then look for a safe exit. If I might need another rescue, or a heal, or a bodyblock, I hope there are still people around to support me. It's the sign of a good teammate, a good player, and a good person. It's why I sit inside exits many times, only to run in and die so someone else can live. That's a win to me, it's why I play the game.
I don't think people should teabag, however, especially if it was an easy game. It was likely since the killer didn't camp, tunnel, and played very fairly in regards to chasing healthy people over recent hooks. You had a good game, don't gloat over it and just leave in peace. I know during the game some people do it just to irritate the killer so they'll remain the chase focus, and that's... a strategy, I guess? But at the end when you've won, just bow and leave respectfully. Imagine that player who didn't get any kills, but still tried and doesn't want to see people adding insult to injury.
This whole post reeks of a disgusting degree of casualness and nicely highlights the mindset of so many Survivor players. You even think it makes you a bad person if you don't sacrifice for others. Its so communistic that it's no wonder survivors believe any Killer who tries to win is just a horrible person. This game is just a lost cause, precisely because of people like you who want to be entertained at someone else's expense.
So yeah, Killers aren't destroying the game. casual, carebear, play for lulz no-skill survivors are.

The endgame collapse isn't supposed to apply massive pressure on survivors. It's supposed to fix holding the game hostage. Therefore, Endgame collapse is perfect and looks awesome.
Well it succeeded. It relieved presssure on survivors. Now they have an easier time at endgame.

I mean, i already uninstalled. Been meaning to pick up Warframe, and doing so now.

Legion was garbage pre nerf too. Legion has garbage game mechanics from a garbage design that will always be garbage no matter how nerfed they get. Legion is still annoying to play against. Annoying doesnt mean too hard to beat, it means not enjoyable in the slightest.
Except now Legion isn't fun for anyone, ever. So you got what you wanted; Killer deleted, a lot of peoples' favorite Killer dumpstered, the game worse for the people that actually provide said game.
-
Killing all Survivors. If i got less than a 4k, i failed. If it happened because i'm just not playing a meta Killer, it feels awful. Pips mean nothing, points mean nothing; just kills.
-
legion wlll never be fun to face. No Killer will be, because the problem isn't the killers, the problem is.....
LOSING ISN'T FUN
And it shouldn't be!
-
You knew BHVR was gonna do this. I mean, endgame collapse could maybe in some tiny percentage of games make survivors actually be under pressure, so it had to be rendered pointless by survivor buffs. Same reason pig got her endgame destroyed, same reason Legion has no ability to use their power in a chase.
Stop being surprised at things you knew were gonna happen. Just play EZ mode survivor and get everything you want, on demand.

Then how do you know it's bad? If you haven't even tryed it yet hmmm? Instead of reading the patch notes give it a try first. Yea IM just as shocked as you and puzzled as to way they nerfed her. But give it a try before you post this. Thx
A straight-up nerf is a straight-up nerf. No need to try it; they removed ALL the teeth from rbt's.

You want to focus on survivors and rarely puke on anything else, don't pay attention to the fountains either, if one is close might as well use it but don't go out of your way to go get one, the power is strong but making survivors struggle to find a clean fountain is stronger.
Sort of. Having a corrupt purge when you know survivors are in an area is invaluable, ad you can easily get two hits on a survivor with it if you do it right. Its basically an instadown, plus once they hit a fountain you know where they are, can go there and get corrupt again and down whoever just used it after a short chase. Having all fountains get done and getting corrupt purge at a time of the survivors' choosing is a losing state; don't let them dictate how you use your power.

Infecting things lasts 35 seconds, so you're wasting so much time that I suspect you're playing in low ranks if you think this is her optimal play.
K. Never let it be said that no one tried to help you; just keep assuming you're right. That'll make you better for sure.
-
Been doing fine with Plague. Change your playstyle, OP. If you aren't infecting everything while you traverse the map, you're doing it wrong.
-
Just play survivor. It's honesty easier and more relaxing.
-
Yet another 'Nerf NOED' thread. Haven't you people gotten enough nice things Killers have nerfed? When will it be enough, when Killer is completely miserable to play? I mean there are two top-tier Killers as it is; do you really want to make them even more mandatory?

Are you sure?
I dont think that's how it works
I'm very sure. Every game there's at least one and usually two or more DC's if i'm winning, especially early on. Do you really think all these Killers upset about the DC epidemic are just making this ######### up?

@BigBlackMori are you trolling? I'm obviously not a survivor main. I became neutral a few days back, from a KILLER MAIN. Get your facts straight before assuming. I gave a simple fix for an issue @Orion brought up, I never said he has to, I never forced anyone to do that. Gave a FIX for an ISSUE. You obviously didn't read his comment.
Guy assumes wrong. I'm not going to bother debating with you since you're obviously trolling right here.
It's a poor fix, and i don't give a flying ######### about you 'becoming neutral', because what you said was still ignorant and biased. Wrong is wrong no matter who says it.

If all killers are brought to Billy level then watch 90% of survivors leave the game.
90% of them DC when they're losing right now anyway. So nothing would change.

So, Adrenaline can be destroyed but the survivors know. NOEDS destruction can be known using Thrill of the hunt and on top of that, you can protect the totem. Ez fix.
"You can bring a perk to keep track of your other perk and only have two perks for the entire game."
This is typical Survivor rhetoric. 'It's not broken because a perk can kinda-sorta counter it!'

@Carpemortum said:
Awww some people still see the balancing changes as that detrimental?
Man I guess some people just cant adapt or play killers as intended and have to rely on cheesey bullshit to get things done....
Can't wait for all the "Legion mains" that were cheesing to cry and moan while the rest of the Legion players enjoy a decent killer.
Nobody's gonna play Legion after this. Survivors succeeded in getting the Killer deleted, now let's move on to the next brutal nerfing. I hear Pig is up on the chopping block when Endgame Collapse comes, and Freddy is getting a full rework too which will likely also make him even more garbage than he already is.
After that, i imagine BHVR will get to work on Billy and Nurse, and just keep nerfing until no fun or decent Killers remain. Which by the way, will kill this game.
-
So, i don't play much survivor but today i played a few games with a streamer friend. I'm very, very bad and died more often than not. And yet...all but two games i pipped, even when i died. On Killer, i'm lucky to black pip if i get three kills, kick a bunch of gens, win several chases and keep gens uncompleted for several minutes.
Yeah, survivors have it real tough.
-
Camping doesn't need to be fixed, because it is fully intended. The sooner you comprehend that, the happier you'll be.
-
@BillyIII said:
Face camping has been fixed a looong time ago btw.
Most survivors don't actually know what facecamping is and just use the word like braindead little lemmings.
-
@Coriander said:
As opposed to what we have now? I think it's a fine addition and doesn't require speeding up. The Killer doesn't deserve free easy kills just because the gens have been completed. Not to mention a lot of people in lower ranks are going to suffer, so let's not go crazy with backlash about changes we haven't tested yet.
What's free about it? If the endgame collapse has begun, multiple ways to leave exist and if the Killer catches someone at that point...mistakes were made and punishment should be forthcoming.

@ShyN3ko said:
The timer should be faster, if someone is hooked or injured.
This. It should go faster when someone is downed and way faster when someone is hooked.
-
It slows down when someone is hooked or downed, and anyway you are not entitled to save everyone. Never have been. You don't get to wait out the killer and have ample time to bait out all his limited-time abilities and keep trying, getting hit, running off to heal and repeating until you succeed. You have a limited time - do it in that time, or die.
-
Legion is basically dead if this goes through as-is. There's not reason not to just play plague and instadown people with vomit, or Billy, or Myers, or literally any other killer. So nice job i guess; after this, Survivors will find new reasons to DC constantly and something else to get nerfed into the ground.
-
Thanks for selling me a product then making it completely worthless a short time later, Devs. I appreciate your dedication to screwing your customers. At least you're consistently #########.
-
Damn. Another fun Killer bites the dust. I guess its back to having only slow, plodding killers who can get run in circles for ages.
-
Marth, tru3, Zubat and Ardetha are all ######### terrifying Nurse players. Each one can show you a thing or two about playing her well.
-
Amazing, ain't it? What are the odds that every single one of those DC's were right when they got downed?
-
Nahh bruh, it ain't a game issue when all 4 DC on first down because they got rekt by a leatherface then stay after to tell you they did.
-
I'm doing fine in red ranks. Y'all are bad.
-
WHY can't this happen to me!?
DEVS! KILLING SPREE MODE WHEN?!?!
-
If you fail (By failing to lose the Killer) you depip. That simple.

" there is a great deal of skill in successfully and effectively using a baited hook to lure in and catch more victims"
I'm sorry but what? There is no skill in this. It's luck that people fall for it. Good survivors aren't stupid to fall for obvious bait. If you see a good survivor going for a save on a camped hook it's because they want points and nothing else. They don't care if they get caught usually.
Camping in DBD takes about as much skill as camping in a shooter. ZERO. Literally anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can sit in some corner of the map waiting for someone to walk by and pop them. Just as anyone can put someone on a hook and walk around the hook waiting for someone else to show up. There's no skill involved here, just dumb luck.
According to survivors being on the same side of the map as a hook is camping. And its been working for me for years now, so forgive me if i don't believe a word of what you're saying. You seem to think Killer players are braindead AI-controlled bots who can't put two and two together and figure out that no gens are being done so the survivors are probably going for the unhook. Thats your failure.
-
I just played a game with a camping Plague. She hooked a Claudette in the basement and I went for the save.
Translation: I went for a stupid basement save and wasn't allowed to just walk out without being punished for bad play.
@PunL said:
I heard its a bannable offense to block the basement stairs, dunno for sure though...
I got blocked by a pig once while having a head trap, she just turned around to let the chase drop and simply waited until my head exploded and there was nothing I could have done (other than to report her afterwards for exploit).
Translation: The Killer can actually kill me if i get caught, and that's just not fair.

Well, its one thing to go after someone with a toxic setup, its another to go after someone and tunnel down people off the hook with no gens done.
Then you have those who DC after being tunneled. Which I honestly can't blame them because they earned nothing except for their first chase, another 100pts for being in a 0.2 second chase where they get downed and then struggle points, which is at max 700? So, less than 1000pts, maybe a little over depending. Yeah i'm not staying either. With all the crap i've lost due to in game DCs and infinite loading screens, i'm honestly fed up. Killers lose the "but thats being a poor sport" argument when they intentionally tunnel off the hook when there is 3 other people to go after.
There are only 3 instances where I find tunneling is acceptable. teabagging, bullying, and end game where the exit gates are powered, open or not. Same goes for camping. Everyone is trying to have a good time for the most part. I can honestly say in the 2k hours i've played, I've never bullied the killer or BMed them with the exception of calling them out for it post-game.
Why are Killers required to give you extra chances to win? You are not entitled to points or fun if you're bad at the game. Points and fun are for winners; sadness and embarassment is for losers. EIther get better or be a sad, embarassed loser.

@Warlock_2020 I agree completely.. it does Seem that Way at times.
There you go, assuming everyone enjoys the same things as you. How many thousands of times will this thread be made? For some, winning is what matters no matter what so long as they aren't cheating. And as i've also often said, there is a great deal of skill in successfully and effectively using a baited hook to lure in and catch more victims. If the game was intended to be nonstop chases and nothing but, then they wouldn't have bothered with a chase-stopping mechanic like hooks. It'd just be 'x hits then you go down and die'

If you actually believe that then you're in for a world of surprises as a killer because now without the crutch of latency you're going to show your true lack of skill.

I wanna see the looping meta finally die and enjoy a stealth/hide and seek meta for a while.

I have a prediction: Dedicated servers won't change anything, except survivors will realize how bad they are and then proceed to blame the servers when they still get hit at windows and pallets. Seen it in lots of games, and DbD won't be any different.
Lots of people are gonna get humbled by dedicated servers.
-
Thanks to DbD i can hear the most minute sounds, especially rustling grass and footsteps, from the dozens of yards away. My kid hates it.
