  • Can we stop calling Perk Builds "small pp-builds"? They are Perks and in the game to be used. If you are upset about it (whether it is Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer or Unbreakable/DS) you should stop thinking that the other side is not allowed to use good Perk Builds.

Didn't Shelter Woods get breakable walls in this update? (Or maybe not? I know other maps in that Realm did but Shelter Woods doesn't have big permanent structures like they do I think?)

Nope, Shelter Woods did not get any changes except for a graphical Update. And the Tree cannot be used as a Balanced Landing-Spot anymore, but thats it.

  • Yes. I dont know, if I think about the theme, a snowy, creepy Mansion/Resort sounds awesome, but the Map does not look like it. And if they do more than a graphical Update, even better, it is the worst Map for Killer (I think its even worse than Haddonfield, since at Haddonfield you can at least get not as bad RNG, while Ormond is always busted AND Scratchmarks are bugged on this Map).

    @TheWarNung said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1724513#Comment_1724513

Really? Shelter Woods seems to be a bit more populated now than it used to be. Fewer dead zones for my Blight to dominate in. Even the "main building" tree has a pallet now iirc.

Trees might be annoying for Blight or Huntress, but usually they dont do much as defense. Even tho, with Blight it is even more frustrating, because half of them let you bounce and the other half just lets you slide by.

  • @TheWarNung said:

I'm all for Ormond. Hopefully they reduce the size a bit, and reduce the clown-car menagerie of super-safe pallets that spawn 5 meters away from each other. And add some breakable walls to the MB to make it less nightmarish for killers. And fix the wonky scratch marks on snow.

But hey! I really like the new sounds they've added for survivors crunching theough snow, so... there's that.

Well, if they do Balance Changes to Ormond as well, nobody should call the Devs Survivor-biased anymore, because Shelter Woods did not receive any changes with the Graphical Update.

    @Topic:

Even if it is only a Graphical Update, I would prefer Ormond. The Map looks horrible, the most ugly Map in DBD IMO.

  • Insidious. Only used for camping, will never see use in a "normal" game.

  • They should work for all players, but the one burning a Party Streamers (or Anniversary Cake) should get a higher amount. So for BPS, 100% for everyone and the person burning it will get 200% (or 203%/204% when it comes to cakes).

This way you at least know that you get more extra BPs than that Huntress who just brought Iri Head, because those people seem to come to the surface during Double BP-Events. And it might even be an incentive to burn them outside of Double BP-Events.

Is it such a problem to ask survivors to actually slot a perk if they actually want benefit from that perk?

Is it such a problem to remind Killers that there are 4 people in the Trial and not only the guy who just got unhooked?

  • 100% agree on the BP-Offerings, made an idea long ago about that one. They should double the values, so you would actually get some benefit out of them.

    Regarding the other Offerings:

Mist is pretty pointless, because low settings exist. And even on Ultra, I dont have that much problem with Mist Offerings, I dont know if they were stronger in the past, but I dont think they are worth taking. Let alone that the Offerings which increase Mist make no sense in Killer Bloodwebs, except for maybe Ghostface or other Stealth Killers.

Regarding Oaks, those are 100% pointless. Hooks are so close to each other, the Killer has to massively mess up his Hooks to actually run out of Hooks in an area. It should not be hard to hook someone, but currently the Hooks are so close... Maybe they should just remove those Offerings and adjust the Hooks, because it seems like they plan it with the worst case scenario, which would be 4 Oaks by the Survivors.

  • @UMCorian said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1724073#Comment_1724073

I hear you and agree... but doesn't that fact alone reveal there's a problem with that perk? Literally the only thing preventing DS from being a mandatory perk is the fact you don't have to run it to gain some benefit from it existing, since a killer has to always play around it.

Is it such a problem that the Killer is not free to tunnel?

  • You want games with 4 DS? Because thats how you get games with 4 DS. Why would anyone not use DS at this point when there is a big "Tunnel me!"-Sign on their back?

  • "i find a survivor, chase him for a normal amount of time, catch him and put him on a hook. Great, while I was doing that 3 gens have been done and my game is lost"

If 3 Gens are being done in your first Chase and this is your normal time, then it takes too long. The thing about Ruin is that it benefits from applying Map Pressure. But if you overcommit to a Chase, your Map Pressure is pretty low since only 1 Survivor is not on Gens.

If you cannot catch the Survivor, you should leave them. Either they are too good or at a really strong Structure, for both reasons, you will find a weaker Survivor or someone who is outpositioned.

Besides, Tinkerer on Pyramid Head does not make that much sense. It is good on Killers with high mobilitiy to force people away from Generators so that they can regress with Ruin, but that does not apply to Pyramid Head.

  • Finally a November-Challenge I can win!

  • Funny, my opinion is the complete opposite. I dont think that Midwich-Breakables are bad, since you can basically break them "on the way", but I dont think that they are "meaningful choices", because you want to break every Wall, since they otherwise block quite strong Loops (like the two Walls with the Window between two rooms or the Wall next to one Exit Gate which allows a strong Window Loop).

I also think that the Walls which open a path between the two Floors are the worst on Midwich, since the mobility between floors is one of the bad things on Midwich, and you basically want to have the Walls broken every time.

The School Walls are actually quite good, because they are not "break that to have an ez game" or "break that to actually have a decent game" (like Saloon-Walls), because they are actually a choice - want to break them to have better access to a Hook to open a strong Loop? Or risk that you might not be able to hook someone who goes down in the Basement, for keeping the Loop closed?

On MacMillan, I only think that the Storehouse Wall is pretty dumb, since they also removed the Pallets inside so the Building is Survivor-sided while the Wall is up, but becomes Killer-sided immediatly after the Wall is down. So for the mandatory to break Wall they removed two playable Pallets.

The other Main Building Walls are not big Deal, tbh. Can even imagine, they added them because the Main Buildings were too weak, which is fine IMO.

  • Because you still DCed and the system can not differentiate between a DC because you are getting sandbagged and a DC because you are salty.

  • Yep, spent 600k BPs when the event started to get 4.

  • Rework. As long as Legion is able to vault windows and Pallets, they will not be able to make a strong Killer out of him.

  • Yeah, saw this happening to a Nea yesterday. I got her out of it and left her slugged near the Hill. Later, when she was full health again, I hooked her (she was my 4th stack) and she died on first Hook because nobody saved her. This wasnt her game. :/

Also can confirm what @bm33 and @BeerFarts are saying, there is an invisible Wall in the Basement.

At least on Storehouse, noticed both (Hill Bug and invisible Wall) on this Map.

  • Well, Losers who are upset that the game is not going their way cannot DC anymore. So there are Hook Suicides and AFK-Killers. Is expected, but according to BHVR, the number of Hook Suicides on first hook did not go up (I can second this from my experience), so I would guess that the number of AFK-Killers also did not rise up (I have not noticed any AFK-Killer, just a DCing Leatherface after he went on a 3 Gen-Chase...).

  • I would like to have it, and I watched some Streams a few days ago. But currently, due to Double-BP, I rather play myself instead of watching Streams.

Yeah this addon is the dumbest thing ever. You either use your medkit to get a heal and the addon can't be used or you use the addon and ur still injured and your medkit is gone...

Or you make a big brain move, equip a Medkit with enough Charges for at least one Heal and the Serum. But yeah, not the most useful thing in the world, gimmicky at best.

  • Hillbilly does not need Chargetime-Add Ons.

  • I am pretty sure that the number of Billys will go up again in the future. Players are once again overreacting, when Spirit got her Add On-Nerf you also did not see that many Spirits anymore (good times).

Personally, I dont really like his animation changes. I cannot even say what it is, he just feels weird since they bugged him a few months ago.

But I also have to say, I see at least 2 Billys per Day.

    Thank you very much :)

If I have to think about it, I would say I really like to read the posts of @twistedmonkey , even before his red Profile Picture and I was sure he will get it.

Also, shoutout to @Poweas , sadly he got banned, but his opinions were really valuable for this Forum.

Also, thank you to @Boosted_Dwight :), I cannot quote your post. D:

  • Well, my first game today with double BPs (and I burned a 104%-Cake) was against an Iri Head Huntress, so I can understand the frustration. Players who bring stuff like Moris or Iri Heads to Double BP-Events simply dont want the Survivors to have fun, while still getting profit from their Offerings.

However, having an Offering just for that is not really the correct way IMO. Why should anyone burn BPS then, if only one side would get the BPs with another Offering?

    I would rather prefer this:

BPS gives everyone in the Trial 100% Bonus-BPs, but the one who is using it gets 200%. This way someone who burns a Cake/Pudding does not get more BPs than that guy who burns the Party Streamers. Also, it would encourage people to use them outside of Bloodhunts, because Party Streamers are rare, so they only really get used during those events, since the chances are higher that other players will use them as well.

But with 200% Bonus-BPs (or 203%/204% for the Event Cakes), players might want to use them more often.

It's not that I wasn't getting Bloodpoints, I only needed one bloodpoint to finish the challenge, and I swear before I clicked on it it still had 20,000.

Most likely some band-aid fix. And it makes sense, it is a grindy challenge anyway, so nobody loses something special and it helps that people get it done before Level 2 drops.

I know how long I have. I could have 3 months to complete it, that's largely irrelevant to my point. I'm giving the devs my feedback.

But why does every challenge have to be super-easy? Like, they lowered the difficulty A LOT since the first Tome, in fact, most challenges are boring. They dont even deserve the word "challenge". This one is a little bit harder.

I'm still confused, admittedly. What exactly ended up being teased in the end?

Nothing. But once again, someone expected a lot, the expectations did not met and now they are disappointed.

  • You will lose all your Add Ons, Offerings and Perks on your Trapper, and will gain a piece of Clothing. P1 will be the Weapon for KIllers and the Top for Survivors, P2 will be the Body for Killers and Bottom for Survivors and P3 will be the Mask/Head.

The cosmetics you get will be bloody, those are the standard Cosmetics with Blood on it. So if you would like that, you can prestige and grind again. If you dont care for this, dont prestige, it does not give you anything beside the Cosmetics.

They talked about giving rewards for Prestiging, but there is no information or any date, so prestiging and expecting an awesome reward will not really work out.

  • Classical DBD-Community.

    Expect lots without any evidence.

    Expectations are not met.

    Be disappointed.

    Write on the Forums.

Instead of just expecting nothing and maybe get surprised.

    Yikes.

I've made all of them playing solo. This one took me a little longer but it wasn't difficult. I usually save the ones that look "harder" for last and then play normally with it activated and end up completing it without even noticing...

    ^ this.

Taking the difficult Challenges at the end is the best way. I did the Objectives-Challenge last (since it was bugged), but going for the 2 Gens in TR-Challenge last is the best way.

Yeah I know they're all possible to do lol. But if it's a lot of luck then it might take 1 trial or it might take 50. It's not fun.

You have two weeks to complete the Challenges until the next Tome Level comes out. And it is good that the Challenges provide something to do for more than a few hours.

I guess it starts in 48 minutes from now on. Since 11 AM EST is the usual update time to activate things in-game

EDIT: Because of the timechange it might be 12 AM EST

    Which is kinda odd tbh.

11 AM EST was the Login Reward, which I got. And starting time for the Bloodhunt should be 11 AM EST as well. So, I guess 11 AM EST is not 11 AM EST in this case.

    O_O

  • Started 11 minutes ago.

  • Why should it be removed? Quite happy that someone who either DCs on purpose or crashes out will not be in my game for 48 hours.

Dont DC, then you dont get a penalty. If you DC because the penalty is low, the Devs may take this as a hint that the penalty is TOO low.

If you crashed because of your internet connection, this is up to you. The other players in your game dont care if you DC intentionally or your Internet crashed, it is a 3v1 or a finished Match (if you were the Killer) at this point. You have to ensure that your connection is stable.

  • Seems like they fixed the Objective-Challenge for the Tomes.

Jokes aside, I am amazed what Bugs exist.

  • @SMitchell8 said:

Watch all the horror films over the next few weeks. You won't see people trolling killers and tbagging them. Pretty sure nobody does a decisive strike against Jason.

Because the people in the Horror Movies are fictional characters. You are not playing against a Killer who can actually harm you, it is another human, so no need to be scared.

  • "First of all id like to talk about Nurse. I feel that nurse should be buffed for sure, but not crazy buffed. She's meant to be a pretty tough killer."

Her Bugs need to be fixed. Afterwards it can be checked if she needs some Buffs. I dont think so, people seem to forget that Nurse is just one of the stupd things in the game which were there in the early days.

"Fourth, soooo uhhh pyramid head... He didn't necesarily need a nerf but in the right hands I can see him being very powerful."

It was mainly so that using the power is more worth and cancelling the power is less good. Because having a Power just to cancel it for Lose/Lose-Situations isnt really the pinnacle of gamedesign.

"Last let's talk about my main, profile picture and most played character, Clown. Clown is a tough cookie meaning that he is quite complex... I don't see too big of a problem with him if I'm being completely honest. I would like to see him have a default larger gas spread but only moderately. With that only I see him being at least somewhat better."

Clown is next for Changes. But no Date is given yet (if I had to guess, I would say next Midchapter-Patch, but again, no official date given). Even tho, I think that Clown is a hard one to balance, since his power should not get too oppressive. But seeing that other bad Killers like Doctor and Freddy got buffed and were strong afterwards, I doubt that Clown will not be stronger.

  • "except for that "sliding off objects" problem that I hope to be fixed at some point."

Apparently they are on that. Worst thing with that are trees, it is a gamble if you can actually bounce of them or slide at them. Overall, he is the best designed Killer in a long time.

I agree But I disagree that they are do survivor sided like people say. In a game where every choice matters you should be able to choose which wall to break with a good and punishing reaction

The Walls in the Saloon itself and on Midwich are pretty Survivor-sided. Midwich-Walls are better than the Saloon-Walls, since you can break them on the go (and in general, the map is terrible as a whole for both sides anyway). But the Saloon-Walls are basically "You need to break them or you cant play the game".

But yeah, not all Walls are Survivor-sided and the ones on the Saloon are probably the worst. Like, I dont think that MacMIllan needed Breakable Walls, but if the Devs thought that the Main Buildings were too weak after the Rework, I guess they are fine.

  • @douggie123 said:

Mate the games broken. We have lost half of the original killer Playerbase with ruin nerfs another many thousand of the Playerbase left very recently.

So, you know those half ot the Killer Playerbase? Only because someone is writing a Forum Post does not mean that they really gonna drop the game. Most of those posts are attention seeking. Like, fun fact - there was one guy on the Forums who said like 4 times that he will quit. And was still around.

And you can expect that more stuff on the Killer side gets nerfed, since the game is for both sides and if Killer is getting easier all the time, there will be some stuff which will be looked at (e.g. Devs talked about Bloodlust in their latest stream, even tho this is with a grain of salt, since they need to test it first to see that it will not result in Killers not being able to catch Survivors). Personally I doubt that Freddy or Spirit will stay the same, when they even add a Overheat-Mechanic (which, to be fair, does not matter at all) to Billy. Because thats how Balance works, the game becomes easier for one side and in return, some strong stuff which might have been ok 2 or 3 years ago is not ok anymore.

Ruin got brutalised, pop is getting screwed, discordance has been killed, Huntress lullaby now only affects certain skill checks.

    Oh my...

    Ruin is Meta.

PGTW is Meta and barely touched.

    Discordance is barely touched.

Lullaby should not affect Docs Skill Checks anyway (so it was a fix) and it did not affect Pigs Skill Checks for a long time (at least 1 year).

    So yeah, great points...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1714269#Comment_1714269

Oh well yes this is possible with nurse, spirit or Billy. Three killers out of a roster of 21 have good control. Why do I need to play top tier killers just to have a good match at this point they might as well only have those three killers. None of the rest.

I main Pig. I am sorry when you are not able to get your chases done fast, but Survivors have been nerfed constantly over the years. Not saying that those Nerfs were not justified, they clearly were. Killers on the other hand almost always got buffed (aside from the removal of some BS-Stuff like original Nurse or Spirit Add Ons). IMO since the Map Reworks, the Game is mostly balanced (aside from some Maps which are still to be changed like Ormond, Haddonfield or Midwich and Keys/Moris).

  • The thing is, Breakable Walls are bad when they

    a) make Tiles way easier than they should be

    b) are 100% mandatory to break

And I am also quite sure that BHVR also knows that Breakable Wall were a failed design, but they want to stick with it.

The thing with Walls for a) is that e.g. Shack does not need a Breakable Wall. It is a Tile which is strong, but playable for Killers. This obviously goes for every Structure which is like that.

Walls which fall under b) are equally bad. Like the Saloon-Walls, you should not have to break some Walls to play the game. Same for the Storehouse-Wall, even tho I think that this falls in a even worse category, because it turns the Storehouse from Survivor-sided into Killer-sided instantly when the Wall is broken, while you still have things in the Saloon to work with (some unsafe Windows or Pallets nearby).

Walls which are good are the Badham School-Walls or Walls in the House of Pain which cut off the God Loop. And this is how Walls should be, giving the Killer a choice. E.g. if you down someone in the Preschool, you can think about breaking one Wall, which allows you to have access to Hooks or to the Gen inside, while opening a Loop for the Survivors.

Clearly never played killer. A day in your life my mate. You think killer is easy chase one survivor for 2 minutes down them hook them bang 3 gens pop. Does that sound balanced and killer favoured

Why should I chase a Survivor for 2 minutes when I can get them faster? o_o

I see the threads, and I highly doubt many of them would be taken seriously. I seriously bought like 4 boxes of popcorn packs for the day they nerf Decisive Strike. It's on the list. They've mentioned it multiple times. It's all over the forums. Dev's see Decisive Strike being abused, they want to nerf it. It's coming. I hope all these sorry saps are ready for that smack of reality.

Once again you’ve failed to see the ramifications of the issue, breakable walls, which was the concern the entire time.

Oh, I see it, dont worry. I think Breakable Walls in MacMillan-Buildings are stupid and not needed, even tho I guess that BHVR thought that the Main Buildings were too weak after the Rework. Which is ok.

The only Wall I think is completely wrong is the one in the Storehouse. However, I also think there is way too much Drama (once again, like always when something is slightly against the Killer-side) since the Building turns from Survivor-sided into Killer-sided immediatly once the Wall is broken.
