^ this. Demo is a good Killer, not the strongest one, but not weak either. And the best Killer to use STBFL.

If they add Rat Liver as Basekit and rework some of his Add Ons, he can be even better. But its not like he is in need of a full Rework.

Is there confirmation on the ormid rework?

Graphical Rework. There is no confirmation at all that there will be Balance Changes.

IF there will be Balance Changes, I hope they will also do them to the Autohaven Maps, Resting Place is horrible Killer-sided with the narrow Corridor.

  • I dont think that this is needed. The thing is, the Perk might be too strong when it comes to Hex-Totems, but basically useless, when the Killer is not running any Hex-Perks. So if the Killer is using Ruin/Undying, they can lose it in seconds, but if the Killer is not using any Hex-Perks, the Survivor has a dead Perk (yes, Dull Totems exist, but aside from the badly designed NOED they dont matter).

So if you are unlucky as Killer, you might run into a Survivor running this Perk and lose your Hex even faster. Which also removes the passive Slowdown those Perks bring, because the Survivor does not spend so much time cleansing the Totem.

A Skill Check does not change it, because they are easy to hit.

While I think that Undying does too much and can indeed be nerfed a bit (I think the idea of Otzdarva to let Ruin die as well, when it was relocated before when Undying got cleansed is quite nice), I think going for a Perk which either has the potential to be too strong or too weak (without any real middle-ground) is not that good.

But maybe with a bit more adjustment, it would be possible, at least it would be a unique Perk which I can imagine to be in the game (or at least some Perk which interacts with Totems).

  • Ah, Killers leaving again. Like it is claimed every week.

Maybe, at least one time, we can wait with feedback when we have actual footage?

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

i like the look of them but im more concerned about how they will be changing the maps

Ormond is a very big map with a design that lets you get to loop to loop with little skill because you can just circle around the main building to find pallets and such to waste the killers time. combined with its huge size the map is one of the worst to get as killer in the game so i hope they reduce its size at least.

as for autohaven that map is actually pretty ok but i always feel like its a waste to protect the gens to the left of the main building since thats behind the huge wall of cars because it makes it difficult to patrol if you don't have 3 gens along it. I'm not sure how they will change that map but i think i will still be ok with it even if they just update its graphics.

Ormond isnt that big to be honest. I guess it looks bigger, since it is clustered with Loops which are connected. But the raw size is not that big:

The Realms are semi-procedural locations within the World of The Entity . Each Realm was the site of a violent tragedy in the past and they now serve as the Arenas for The Entity's trials. 1 Overview 2 Lore 3 Realms & Maps 3.1 The MacMillan Estate 3.2 Autohaven Wreckers 3.3 Coldwind Farm 3.4 Crotus Prenn Asylum 3.5 Haddonfield 3.6 Backwater Swamp 3.7 Léry's Memorial Institute 3.8 Red Forest 3.9 Springwood 3.10 Gideon Meat Plant 3.11 Yamaoka Estate 3.12 Ormond 3.13 Hawkins National Laboratory 3.1

When it comes to Reworks, I hope they just dont rework Ormond only. While most Autohaven Maps are fine, it would be nice to update Azarovs Resting Place, since it is so killer-sided because of its narrow Corridor. And some Deadzones from Wretched Shop can be removed, because the Map RNG is quite big there (ScottJund made a video where the Map had 17 Pallets in one game and 8 Pallets in another game).

But if they just rework Ormond, nobody should complain that the Devs are Survivor-sided anymore, given the fact that they also did nothing to Shelter Woods.

    @Topic:

Those are concept arts, I would need to see it ingame, but the Art looks nice. I hope for Ormond that it is way darker, because a snowy Lodge sounds really great on Paper, but the current excecution of Ormond does not really look good, mainly because it looks like the Map is in bright Daylight.

  • I think, if I would witness this conversation, I would quit DBD after that match.

  • You know, those people who complain about DS/Unbreakable are using Ruin/Undying. So its not like they are playing with Meme Perks.

    And well, ######### Killer playstyles.

In the end, use whatever you like, but dont complain about the other side using good stuff (because they can use whatever they like as well).

  • I guess I have seen 10 Cheaters total in over 5000 hours of gameplay. So they are rare.

A few weeks ago, I encountered a Cheating Huntress (still felt the need to use Iri Head), she had a Speedhack. And a Survivor, who seems to be messing with the Server, because everytime he was nearby (like in a Chase) the whole Server freezed for 1 second. Was noticeable for me as Killer and for other Survivors as well (had a talk with another player in Postgame Chat).

And quite a long time ago I had like 4 Cheaters in two weeks. Survivor Perks on Killer (Billy with Kindred); Speedhacks, Offerings which should not be possible (3rd year Anniversary Cake on Zarina)...

But overall, pretty low amount of Cheaters, so they are not common at all.

My personal highlight was a speedhacking Ash against an Oni. He was only speedhacking a little bit, if I had to guess, he was moving at 105%, 108% at max... It looked odd for me, because that Oni looked slow, but the Survivor was only fast. Despite hacking, that guy died - which should show how bad he was.

There's a challenge to kill 12 survivors by any means. That could be the reason.

Yeah, people seem to think that it is hard to get 12 Kills without a Mori.

  • They are a failed concept and should be abandoned. And I am sure Devs know this, but they want to stick with them.

How does it giving bloodpoints effect anything gameplay wise?

To be fair, you can run the most broken stuff and still get a big profit. Had a Wraith in one game, using All Seeing and Silent Bell + an Ebony. He camped everyone and got a 4K due to NOED in the end (2 Survivors camped, the other 2 killed with NOED), so he got 4 Hooks in total. Had 20k BPs investment, got 19k BPs, but BBQ gave him more BPs than any Survivor had afterwards. And I think if you run those builds with that playstyle, you can also lose BPs overall, that is fine.

So something like that the Killer can only gain stacks while all Survivors are alive would be nice to have, but you would need to think about something to avoid not getting stacks because of DCs or Survivors killimg themselves on first Hook just to deny future stacks, so it is not really worth the effort to change something.

But Double-BPs can affect gameplay, but in a more minor way.

  • The Notebook is way too strong. Usually you hit Survivors with your second Blink anyway, adding an Insta-Down is way too much.

Not sure about the Matchbox, but I dont think that someone would like to become a 4.4 m/s Killer with 1 Blink. Would be faster than now, but still not good, I think.

I just bought Plague a few days ago *sigh*. If only I knew corrupt would be in the next shrine...

Plague is not a bad Killer. And you get Infectious Fright, which will be useful for the Hillbilly-Challenge in this Tome-Level.

  • Crouching and dropping the item for example.

But honestly, as Survivor you should not try to bring the Killer to farm. If they dont want to farm, you just give them an easy Hook which can already screw over your team.

  • There are only two possible interactions where a Flashlight can be used, because the Killer can look up or down when he is free.

This would be Pallet Breaks-->This CAN be annoying, but overall, Survivors who use a flashlight at a Pallet (especially injured without Iron Will) are doing the Killer a favor, because you can still hear them and instead of gaining distance, they just use the time to get a Blind in.

Picking up a Survivor-->Looking at a wall should help. If there is no wall nearby, turning around 180° before picking up might work as well.

Also, Lightborn is a thing, so if Flashlights are too annoying, this Perk (from Hillbilly) can help since it negates Flashlights completely.

  • Speed-Limiter

Infectious Fright (might need a few games)

    Farming

  • Its a Bug, currently everyone has them. They will be removed in a future Update.

  • Of course they wont. I was speaking against Breakable Walls since they got introduced, but after they added them to Badham and Yamaoka, it was clear that they wont go away form this concept.

  • Devs know that the Walls are bad. Or, to be more precise, I cannot imagine that they dont know about it. But they are bruteforcing them into the game at this point.

But aside from the Storehouse, I dont think that the Walls on MacMillan are that bad. On Coaltower they are actually pretty nice, since the Map did not need to get a Rework to begin with. But really needed or asked for where they not on MacMillan.

I hope they will stop doing those Walls in the future. I hate them.

  • You did correct. If I get camped, the best thing I can see is someone doing Gens. And I hate those Survivors, who are crouching next to the Hook, because, you know, maybe the Killer will go away after he camped for 1 1/2 minutes.

Your Survivor Mates did not understand how to play against a Camper and the Killer was salty that he did not get a 4th Kill with his method. You did right.

  • It should have been added from the moment Deathgarden became free.

(Also its the only tolerable Meghead-Cosmetic)

  • Yes. But only because Scorpionz (who I watch quite regularly) threw them out on Monday.

5 Codes on Screen for Console, 5 Codes on Chat for PC to copy&paste. So I got mine. Before, I tried to type it in and never got it.

I would prefer to not have to do this again, especially because I did not want to hang in Streams during a Double-BP Event.

Becuz it is not just 'spamming the crouch button'.

U obviously have not played killer long enough to be bullied yet.

It is extremely annoying becuz u feel like u are forced to walk all way across the map to look at them make fun of u as they leave.

It's the same reason a survivor is on a dying state, but waits forever for u to find him, just so the survivor can go thru the hatch in front of u.

As a killer, it's prefer if u just leave. Survivor does it becuz its annoying. Why does the killer gotta be mature and go thru this? Why can't the survivors be mature and just leave?

To counter this, u just start breaking pallets and walls for points while the survivors sit at the gate. If the killer doesn't show up, it's a huge let down for the survivors.

And its annoyance to the survivors is working as someone made a post about it as this one.

As other complaints made by survivors, it is another way to make killers play a certain way. But it seems like killers are refusing to do so.

I have 5000 hours in this game and I am Rank 1 on both sides (not that this is impressive with 5k hours, but its not like I am playing only Survivor). So I have been teabagged more than enough.

As Survivor, I mostly leave immediatly once I know that everyone is safe, but I dont mind to force Survivors out. I would rather do that than have to wait 2 minutes before I can go into the next game. I value my own time more than the Survivors time.

  • @LuffyBlack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1727481#Comment_1727481

I'm going to assume your post isn't in bad faith, but it's the universal sign of disrespect. Literally anyone who has picked up a controller knows that teabagging is meant to humiliate your opponent. It's been a thing since the popularity of shooters, I believe.

It's less about that than the survivors wasting time when they could move onto the next match. It's gotten to the point where the End Game Collapse was released because they held the game hostage. Don't even get me started on the harassment that follows at the end game chat.

If you don't think it's a big deal then that's cool, but this behavior is not only rude but uncivil.

The thing is, forcing Survivors out did not do anything against those who wanted to take the game hostage, because they did not need to wait at the Exit Gates. They could just stealth around the Map.

While I completely understand what teabagging means, I will not understand how someone can be that upset about it. When I get teabagged at the Exit Gates I mostly say "gg, teabagging isnt necessary tho" and often enough the Survivors who did not teabag are on my side (same when I play Survivor, I dont like to see teammates at the Exit Gates teabagging). But in the end, it is a game, and it is up to the person playing Killer if they really want their mood to be worse, because some Survivors decide to teabag.

In the end, thats what those Survivors want.

Relly?? because they mostly DC after I vault the fence. So that could be true, but why do they not just vault the fence too?

Vaulting the Window allows the Survivor to gain Distance, since the Killer Vault is slower than the Survivor Vault. Also Survivors gain some more distance around the Corners of the Fences, since the Killer Hitbox is larger.

This might AT LEAST cause the Killer to have to vault the Window 3 times in order to block it off, which is a) a big time-waster already and b) allows the Survivor to use another Structure afterwards without even using a Pallet (since they used the window). At worst, the Killer will lose enough distance so that they are not in chase with the Survivor anymore which means that the Window will never be blocked and can be used forever.

Even without the bugged Fences, Haddonfield is really survivor-sided and Killers have a lower chance of winning on Haddonfield. And honestly, burning a Haddonfield-Offering somewhat suggests that the Survivors dont want the Killer to have fun during this game. Not going against you with this one, you might not have any ill intend, but Survivors usually know what they are doing when they burn Haddonfield.

I'm pretty sure the killer is breaking walls and pallets for extra points. Or afk and do something else. I'm pretty sure killer isn't literally doing nothing.

Or, they can just show that they are mature and force the Survivors out so that they go into the next game as well. I will never understand why some Killers are so upset about a Survivor spamming the Crouch-Button.

  • No, they are not. There are more Survivors than Killers, so it is logical that you will see more Survivors who are misbehaving, but Killers are not the cute little Angels some people claim to be.

Like, today I got insulted by an Oni because he thought I was lying when stating that we were not a SWF. That guy got really mad, because for him it was impossible that we always were able to find the slugged guy with Knockout. But must be SWF and not the fact that it only works on basic attacks, nono.

Or yesterday a Ghostface said to us that he is happy that the Coronavirus will wipe us (the Survivors) out. A really wholesome guy.

But does that mean that more Killers are toxic? Or that even all Killers are like that?

Nope - but there are people like that on both sides. Also, and this is quite an important factor, you will most likely remember the negative things instead of the players who did nothing wrong. If there is one Survivor who is being a dick and three Survivors who are playing normally, you will remember that one guy, but not the three normal guys.

Same with me, I remember those two guys I wrote above, but I dont remember any of the other 20 Killers who were nice and not "toxic" at all.

But the notification time was the only complaint, so again, why add the distance requirement?

    ?

To have a difference in Perk Tiers. Tier 1, 2 and 3 cannot have the exactly same effect.

  • @chieften333 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1726911#Comment_1726911

But even those cover the majority of the map, it just seems like a useless mechanic tacked on to a perk no one complained about.

There were "complaints" about Discordance, because Tier 1 was better than Tier 3. So they changed the seconds to the Tier 1-value on all Tiers (now 4 seconds instead 8 seconds, so it got another Buff), and to have a difference between Tiers, they added a Range Requirement.

So they basically pleased the Community and even 96 meters was enough in 99% of the cases, but Killers said that the Perk got gutted (not that I am against buffing the Range more, like I said, it was barely noticeable that it was not map-wide before).

  • @chieften333 said:

So If it already covers 100% of every map why is there a distance requirement in the first place?

To have a difference between Perk Tiers.

    "Just don't do gens KEKWKWKEKWKEKEKEKWKEKWKEKW!!!"

See? It makes sense. Like yours makes sense. Wait, it doesn't. Neither does yours.

    RIP you.

Quite a weak post. You know, you can chase a whole different Survivor while the other person is on the Hook. And not even be near the guy who is unhooked so you dont have to deal with BT or DS or Unbreakable at this point.

But I guess its pointless, when I see your response.

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

Except, the circumstances are different, which breaks your argument.

DS/UB/DH/BT has been around for years, and STILL has no counter.

Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer has existed as a build for *not even two months*, and HAVE counters, even as a combo, they have counters.

Different circumstances entirely. So no. Nobody has a right to complain. It's not broken, like the survivor counterpart.

The counter would be to accept that there are 4 Survivors in the Trial. But I know, only the guy who just got unhooked seems to be in the Trial at this point, at least from what I read on the Forums.

When the rework dropped it absolutely was.

The original range of 96 meters is OK for some maps, but on maps like Ormond it wouldn't give you the original effect of being alerted at the very start of the game about anybody who spawned in a pair on a gen if they were on the opposite corner of the map.

More importantly, the initial version of Discordance had a massive bug. It only triggered if the survivors started a co-op repair within range. If they were already doing it when you got close enough, it did jack #########.

The Bug aside (I dont count Bugs to Balance), the 96 meters were no big problem. They mostly were in effect when you were on one side of the map and the Gen on the complete opposite site. Most people said that the change was not noticeable.

But I know, it could be understood as a Killer Nerf, so something got "gutted" again.

  • Discordance was never gutted in the first place.

  • Neas P1 and P3-Cosmetics are bugged since 2018. I could imagine that it is easier to fix more recent cosmetics than older cosmetics with that Spaghetti-Code.

  • Interesting.

"Mooom, I made it! I am a Streamer and Team Member of BHVR now!".

  • Sure, why not. My favorite would be Negan as Survivor tho.

  • @Creepa99 said:

Someone please explain how when I'm playing survivor this always happens to me, they get bs hits on me. Yet when I play killer I just end up smacking the wall.

You probably have a good Ping to the Server. You have to keep in mind that the Ping from the Survivor to the Server and from the Killer to the Server is important.

So if you have a decent Ping, Survivors will notice that by not getting hit from far away on their screen. However, if you are Survivor with a decent Ping and the Killer has a high Ping, you will get those strange looking Hits on your end.

  • @stvnhthr said:

Weren't latency problems fixed with dedicated servers? That was the plan right?

Nah, it made them worse. Before you would at least know that you have high Ping to the Killer, if you see a Ping of 150, you would be able to back out. Now you only see the Ping to the Server, so if you have 40 Ping but the Killer has 150 Ping, you will get questionable Hits on your end.

I got a slight little correction: i doubt they are working on the fixes for all the nurse bugs.

    This is on Almos Profile:

"We're aware of bugs in Nurse gameplay. They're on the list, we're working through it and fixing stuff as we can. The base kit rework is something we're happy with at the moment. When I play Nurse and miss a double blink and then can't again for a bit to get the second charge, it feels like the Survivor deserves that extra space. This doesn't mean it won't get further tuning, but it's unlikely we'd remove the charge system."

I mean, you can still doubt it. But I can only tell what I have seen written.

    @LuffyBlack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1725287#Comment_1725287

I ran a Nurse around high out of my mind then escaped with the rest of my team because I rescued them. I think this has to be a bit of an exaggeration. There's no killer in this game that's an instant win button. Never in my lifetime have I picked up a killer then won every game without effort. I think this is insulting towards people that put the effort into learning how to play them.

That aside, what would satisfy you? People want the killers to be harder to learn and when people learn to play them, it's a problem. I'm asking this in good faith. What would be a satisfying design for the killers in this game gameplay wise?

Its totally fine if Killers are complex and strong. Blight is an example, Huntress as well, even tho, she is not super-strong or compareable to Freddy or Spirit. Freddy on the other hand is strong and not complex at all.

But Nurse is over the top, because she ignores everything the Survivor has as defense. And like I said in my other post, she would not be released today and thinking that the concept of Nurse is fine, is simply not correct. Like, back in the days when Nurse got released, they had Infinites, no Window Blockers, way more Pallets, perma-sabotaged Hooks and all the stuff which got removed. So people who brought in this broken stuff also brought in Nurse.

  • @sudintlink said:

I am still to find a good nurse I can only listen to the legend of how shes op but i've escaped against most nurses I've played against cause nurse has to guess where you are behind a wall and if they miss you can make some distance.

There are not many really good Nurses in the game, but those who are, basically dont lose. And there is nothing easier than winning against a bad Nurse. Good Nurses also dont swing, which gives them a longer fatique, so the distance gained against a good Nurse is worse than against a bad Nurse.

Before her Rework, it was possible to compensate the lack of skill with Nurse by using more Blinks and/or Range Add-Ons, also one of the reasons why you saw more Nurse-Players.

But as I said before, highly unlikely that the number of good Nurses will increase, because a) she still has Bugs (which are known and being worked on) and b) there is not really a point in learning her, when you dont need her to win games. You can basically 4K with every Killer, and Killers like Spirit or Freddy are far easier to pick up with similar results.

  • Its not OP, but if you need 4% more Movement Speed to catch Survivors and an Insta Down, you are not good and will most likely not improve.

And well, while NOED is not OP, it is not good gamedesign either.

  • It makes more fun if you can exclude somebody.

  • The Devs are thinking about prestige Rewards, but you can expect those to be really minor things, because there are players who put 1000s of hours into the game without every prestiging and a really good reward would totally make those players upset. So something like better Perks should not be the case, this would be too much of a reward for players who did not bother prestiging, since there was nothing special for it (if you dont want the cosmetics) for years.

  • This is correct. The people who always say "Nurse is fine" seem to forget that she is from a time in DBD where a lot of broken stuff was in the game. And Nurse would not have been released to the game during a later point, e.g. since 2018 I am pretty sure that the Devs would not have implemented a Killer like her.

But she is in the game, so there is not anything you can do, except for nerfing her into the ground, which would create big backlash. So its ok that she is in her current state, that you really need to put time into her (which is not really needed IMO, since you can just pick up Spirit and have almost the same results with a much easier access to her).
