Attempting to save a teammate is fun. Just leaving them to die is not. Just rushing gens is not. The killer in this case is promoting the gameplay response from the survivors to just rush gens/leave immediately which is not fun.

To be fair, rushing Gens against a camping Killer (especially Bubba) is the best thing to do. No need in giving those players points, sucks for the person on the Hook, but thats about it.

Even tho, I dont think that this pushes Killrates (like I said, I dont get OPs point), because from my experience, Killers who are just facecamping are pretty rare. A good bunch proxycamps and tunnels, and this can be dealt with by using BT, but Killers like Insidious Bubba are rare, so I dont think that Killrates get pushed at all.

(To push the Killrates, it would mean that this is happening quite often)

  • I dont even understand your point.

  • "Simple. To get the most Blood points you have to focus on all survivors not one."

Not really. You can tunnel out one person ASAP and still get your Bonus BPs. It tries to encourage going for different Survivors, but if the Killer does tunnel one person out, they still can get the reward.

Its basically like telling a Kid not to do something, the kid does it, and then you give him the promised sweets anyway.

IMO the Killer should only get Stacks on BBQ as long as all Survivors are alive. However, this would mean that there needs to be a system to see if someone is killing themselves on Hook (or DCing), because in this case, the Killer should still get BBQ-Stacks.

But since it is not really a problem (more of an annoyance), I dont think it ever justifies to put work into something like that to make BBQ really encourage to go for different Survivors.

  • To me, this happens basically instantly - first I have somewhat normal Matchmaking and then suddenly the Matchmaking becomes odd. Happening around 11 PM and later that it changes. Most of the time Console Players are involved as well.

Yesterday had a game against a rank 10 Oni with my friend (both Rank 1) and two Rank 20s from Console. And they were legit Rank 20s, the David got grabbed by the Oni from a Gen and Claudette repaired a Gen next to me while I was slugged, blew it up two times and then walked away to the other corner of the Map.

    This was an experience.

  • Keys will get changed, Devs confirmed it. No date given for that.

But honestly, I would not care that much about that. Today I also only got a 3K because one Survivor found a Key. I would have won with a 4K (2 people alive, 2 Gens left), but one of them found a Key in a Chest without using Plunderers. Nothing I can do about that, so why even bother?

Its just a game, after all.

Bhvr stated there would be no pallets spawning within 16 meters of eachother. which means that's a huge lie

Syringe. combine it with the reduce charges and healing speed to lower the time it takes to heal with it. still strong

Bnp. 25% of a Whole gen which is huge. or 15% / 20% still a huge thing to get done.

Meta Perks. Ds / Unbreak / Adren / Bt / Dh / BL / SB . been in the game for a VERY long time without much drawbacks or nerfs.

BHVR also stated WHY Double Pallets exist. It is exactly how I explained it to you. If you dont believe me-->Search Function.

Syringe is also affected by Stuff like Sloppy Butcher. But like I said, it is one of the few Survivor Items/Add Ons which did not become useless, but you cannot compare it to old Insta-Heals.

Meta Perks not nerfed? Exhaustion being put into the game? Exhaustion not going down while Running? DS nerfed twice (with Chapter 19)? BT nerfed (and later buffed, but old BT was busted)? BL removed Stagger Reduction?

All of this stuff was busted and Nurse is from the same period in the game. But she gets to stay as busted as she is, eh?

Like I said in another Post, the only thing what "balances" Nurse is that she is hard to learn and most players dont bother. If they would bother, Nurse would become a problem.

But I feel, this discussion does not lead anywhere. (And as I said, Nurse will not be reworked in such a way that she is more in line with other Killers and not completely standing out like she currently is)

  • Undying would have been nerfed when Crowd Control would have been released. This Perk is totally worth being a Hex and having it up all game would really be too much.

  • @REL1_C said:

You forgot about smash hit. I would probably pick that cause it sounds OP. A 2 second stun and a sprint burst, although it'll be harder to activate, it seems like a reliable new meta.

Smash Hit is outclassed by Dead Hard and Sprint Burst at least. And most likely Lithe as well.

    @Topic:

IMO it is Dead Hard, but the big difference for me is simply that I can run with Dead Hard equipped and dont have to pay attention to Sprint Burst. Whenever I used Sprint Burst, I just wasted it at the start of the game. So it is more of a preference that I went for Dead Hard, overall, I think they are pretty similar when it comes to strength.

  • Most likely not a bug, but two very hidden Totems. Those exist, people just dont mention them often, mostly they complain about those who are not really hidden.

The Saloon has some pretty nasty Totem Spots, you will probably have missed two of them.

Why should killer with less then 100% speed be a mistake or unblanaced ? I don't think such killer would need to bypass looping completely like nurse does (which is still fine as she creates her own counters), just have power unique and strong enough to warrant slow mm speed.

It has to be in that region of Power. I mean, look at the Powers of Killers who are on 110% Movement Speed. Powerwise, those are some of the best Killers in the game. And 5% Movement Speed is not that much slower, you can still chase people as Huntress without a Hatchet in SOME (really need to stress out this word) situations, even tho it can be painful to do so and should not be done, if there are alternatives.

If you have a difference of 15%+ to a "regular" Killer, you would need an even stronger Power than for example Hag or Spirit.

  • MacMillan:

Great Rework, the only thing what bothers me is the Storehouse Main Building, they added a breakable Wall and removed the two Pallets inside. I would have rather kept the Pallets and have no Breakable Wall, the Pallets were more fair for both sides and they were not gone if one Wall is broken. Also I was disappointed that Shelter Woods did not get any Changes, this Map is really outdated and you see it.

    Autohaven:

I dont think that the Map is too dark. Compared to old DBD (when the Realms looked really good as well), it is bright. I dont like the Deadzones. I think that Resting Place is better now, but overall, not a bad Realm Rework.

    Crotus Prenn:

After playing quite a lot on Disturbed Ward lately, I dont like it. From a gameplay-POV I think it is ok, even tho the Main Building might have too many Pallets (I have seen 3 spawn in there, I think it is 2 on the uppor floor and 2 on the Lower Floor, 1 on each would be better). I dont like that there is so much stuff outside, it is good that they added something (before it was very empty), but it looks too clustered for my taste.

Chapel looks alright, even tho people said that there are strong Loops in the Main Building. I have not experienced those yet, but when they can be solved by breaking a Wall, they should be ok. So far never had a problem on that Map.

    Springwood:

I think some of the best Maps, some of my favorite Maps as Killer. I like the unsafe Loops, it is fun to outplay the other side on them. IMO since they reworked them since the Freddy-Rework, those Maps are alright. Most of the time, I give Survivors the Gen in the house of pain for free, I dont care about that one.

    The Game:

IMO very bad game design. From my understanding they added more Pallets because they added Breakable Walls as well, which can result into Deadends, so not every safe Pallet is actually useable as long as the Gen next to the Wall is unfinished or as long as the Breakable Wall is not broken.

My biggest problem before on The Game was that it was always pretty boring to play there, regardless if I play Survivor or Killer. Pressing W around safe Pallets is no fun for either side, for me, The Game always started survivor-sided and shifted to killer-sided, because there was not much except for Pallets.

This did not get changed. Since they will probably not do some gameplay changes in the near future (aka removing some Pallets or make them unsafe and add more Windows), they should at least remove ALL Breakable Walls from The Game and reduce the number of Pallets, which were added to compensate for Deadends. Not every Map needs Breakable Walls, The Game would be better off without them.

    Yamaoka:

Eh, not much has changed for me. They were never my favorite Maps to begin with and this did not change with the Rework. I always thought they were alright from a gameplay-perspective, I never had a horrible experience when playing on either side.

    Ormond:

This was a great rework and I would not call this Map survivor-sided anymore. Ormond is also not a big map, if you check the size of DBD Realms you will see that Ormond is just above average and right in the middle of Map Sizes.

However, before the Rework, for me, it was the most survivor-sided Map in DBD, even more than Haddonfield. It still has safe Loops, but way less and more unsafe Loops, which is great. Before, it was safe Loop into safe Loop all the way.

IMO Ormond was a really good Rework (and it is a shame that they reworked that one gameplay-wise, but ignored Shelter Woods..)

  • Such a Killer will not come into the game anymore, the Devs are better at Balancing than they were in 2016. They will not do the same mistake like they did with releasing Nurse.

Not busted but ight my guy, There's still map spawns that can spawn double pallets, still got the syringe in the game, Bnp and alot of survivor perks / meta perks that haven't been touched in a Really long time compared to killer,

Double Pallets = mean that there is the minimum of Pallets on the Map and there are not many Maze Tiles with Pallets (aka more T/L-Walls than Jungle Gyms). A Double Pallet is good for the Killer.

Syringe = nerfed quite badly, but I agree, one of the Survivor things which is not useless

BNP = only the strongest Toolbox Add-On because the rest got nerfed into Oblivion (rightfully though)

Meta Perks = You mean those Meta Perks which were not released for Survivors for years already? Last Meta-Perk was either DS or DH, dont know which came out earlier.

    Oof.

    @Topic:

Character Models will be reworked as well. Maybe it will be faster after the Map Rework, even tho, they will probably rework every Cosmetic as well, so it will take quite a long time I guess.

But even if I main Nea, I have to say, the Cosmetics with masks are usually her best ones.

At least this Cosmetic was the first one released for Shards since the red Leather Jacket, if I am not mistaken (I get them all on release, so I cannot check that).

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

I have an explanation for that actually.

If you really think about it, nurse is the only killer that, if played correctly, is completely uncounterable. But yet, nurse players get praised, why that? Because of two reasons:

#1 She requires a lot of skill to learn and master, you need to play so many awful games as nurse to get the hang of her, and you need to keep doing this over and over again until you become unstoppable. It's like an investment. So, there's a built in respect for nurse mains since they didn't give up and learnt how to play her extremely good.

#2 Because it's so hard to learn nurse, there aren't many nurse mains out there. I myself have given up on learning her because she's so hard. And because it's a rare killer, nobody thinks of her that much.

On the other side, there's a lot of hate about spirit. And the reason behind that is, that just like nurse, she doesn't have a lot of counters. Playing against her is basically predicting or getting lucky. Just like nurse, everything you've learned as a survivor doesn't work against the spirit, looping normally is simply not an option. The spirit doesn't require the same amount of skill as nurse, not even close to her learning curve, but she has the same payoff. And since she's an extremely popular killer, you see a lot of spirits. So the combinations of lack of counterplay, the fact that she's not hard to learn, a bit difficult to master tho, and her being in a lot of games are the reasons she's so hated, imo

Thats basically it. ScottJund made a video about it that losing against a Nurse feels more earned from the Killer than losing against a Spirit.

You are right, against a god Nurse, there is nothing you can do as Survivor, you will die. But that person had put so much effort into the game to learn her at this point. And running into a god Nurse is basically the same probability to run into a tournament SWF - it does almost never happen.

    @Topic:

As said before, Nurse requires more effort. But if the Nurse is just "good" and has not mastered the Killer, the Survivor has more counterplay than against Spirit. Also, there are way more Spirit-Players out there and you dont have to do much to get good Results with Spirit. With Stridor it is basically idiot-proof.

And if we think about it - what is more frustrating? Losing against a Nurse because she predicted my movement or losing against a Spirit, because she has ears?

  • @Verconissp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1999502#Comment_1999502

You do realize that If they removed Nurse. this game would actually hurt majorly and would die out because there is no top killer that can dominate a good swf. Nurse Deserves to stay, She's already fun to verse than spirit... the main issue is also that This game is 100% purely survivor sided,

Nurse is one of the few busted things left in this game. She is on one Level with true Infinites, Double Pallets, No-Hook Moris, Insta-Heals... The only thing that makes her "balanced" is the fact that she is hard to learn and not many players want to do that (because there are more than enough alternatives which can get the Job done, unlike a few years ago).

IMO she should be reworked, increased Movement Speed and drastically nerfed Power. But I also know that this will never happen, so chill. Nurse will stay the same as long as the majority of players dont bother to learn her.

  • @Verconissp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1992557#Comment_1992557

I mean. i wouldn't mind a new killer that could Rival Nurse. it'd be a actual killer devs put time into anywho,

A Killer like that will never be implemented again. Nurse itself should have never come into the game in her current state in the first place.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I disagree with Nurse being placed at the bottom, but that may because I'm biased and think her design is pretty good. Personally I'd stick Spirit in her place and have Nurse be doing with some tweaking- she completely ignores the major gameplay mechanics but at least there's always stealth and I don't actually think there's that many people that would say she's their least favourite killers to face.

Also I wish I didn't agree with Pyramid Head's placement haha.

The thing is, the only thing which somewhat "balances" Nurse is that she is very hard to learn and therefore, the number of good Nurse players is really, really low. You also dont have to learn her to get good results, back in the day she was basically the only Killer to compete with the insane Map design, but nowadays, you have plenty of options, which makes it not needed to put any time in Nurse (aside from maybe bringing her to Level 40 for her Perks).

If more people would be patient and would really try to learn her, she would be talked about more I guess.

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

Really don't agree. Nurse's power design is great, being able to teleport through walls is fun!

Nurse is from a time where No Hook-Moris, Insta-Heals, real Infinites, Double Pallets and real facecamping where a thing. Of course her design is not great, she is a big design failure.

  • Devotion 31 from CoconutRTS.

But I am pretty sure there are higher devotion levels out there.

  • Like 1 out of 10 games?

Its the worst Exhaustion Perk, so it will not be used much.

    @MadLordJack said:

I see it a decent bit, though I find it amusing that people keep calling it bad beause it doesn't create infinites and near-infinites any more.

IMO the Balance-Nerf has changed exactly nothing. Maps where BL was indeed problematic are still a complete nightmare for Killers. And Maps which got released since the Rework (Sanctum, Saloon and Midwich) would have been fine with old Balanced Landing as well, since next to every Window is a Drop.

  • Cosmetics provide no gameplay-content, Characters do. I prefer cheap Characters and more expensive Cosmetics than vice-versa.

Cosmetics are basically the best thing to make money - nobody feels the need to buy them, Characters are different, if you want to play a Killer, you have to buy them. And then it is good that they are cheap.

  • IMO there are no abused Perks. Perks are in the game to be used, so both sides dont abuse any Perks.

And only because Perks are popular, they are not being "abused", because people run them.

(The only exception might be, if a Perk is bugged in a way that it is stronger than it should be and people are running it to gain an unfair advantage)

If They give new ds a ability to say remove grunts of pain and scratch marks for 10 seconds after the killers been stunned, then that kinda prevents the killer getting back on you after getting Dstriked since you kinda leave a trail back to you after Dsing basically right now. So they could test some new stuff to buff it now that its abusive side is mostly gone.

Yes, something like this. 10 seconds no grunts of pain, Scratchmarks and Bloodtrails. Even the strongest Killers would need to locate the Survivor before going after them again. Currently, a Nurse can blink after a Survivor immediatly, with changes like this, even she would not be able to do that (if the Survivor is actually acting smart, if they are just running in LoS, its their fault).

Sure it would still not prevent tunneling completely, but it might give the Survivor the chance to actually get away.

Hah, now that's just pathetic, honestly.

At long last, the DS perk has finally been taken off it's throne.

Maybe it's not that far down, but now, it's an actual anti-tunnel perk now.

It is not an actual Anti-Tunnel Perk. And it never has been, a Killer who wants to tunnel will not be prevented by DS at all.

  • No, Blood Orbs only increase when using the Add Ons. (Sloppy Butcher is still useful tho, because it keeps the Survivors injured for a longer time)

Personally, I loved the "Improved performance" line in the PTB 4.6.0 patch only to find out I'm playing at 30 fps

30 FPS are only in the Lobby (it is capped at 30 FPS for whatever reason).

The Memory Leak happens when playing against the new Killer. I always started at 60 and during the match, it went down to 20ish. Really enjoyable /s

Hopefully it is fixed for Live Release.

  • Just for fun, most of the time. Once had a Legacy 2-Nea in my Lobby, she matched her Outfit to mine and followed me the whole game, reparing Gens, healing other Survivors etc.

It just has wayyy too many downsides

    1. Gives essentially the same progress as brandnew part at max but brand new part doesn't take out a perk slot and can be used instantly.

    2. You must hit great skill checks to use it

    3. If you are playing a slugging killer the perk is useless

    4. You can only get max potential if all of your teammates are hooked 3 times, which they will all be dead and you don't need gens anymore.

    5. Tokens reduce its effectiveness so once you use the tokens it's a dead perk slot

Honestly in my top 10 worst survivor perks imo

IMO the only way to use it really effective would be if 4 people have it and save it until Endgame. This would give each of them 18 Tokens (6 Hooks x 3), so 72 Tokens in total, meaning 72%. Using this for the last Gen could be strong, because the longer the game goes on, the stronger the Killer will be.

    However, this would mean that:

    • all of them are on Death Hook
    • all of them are still alive
    • Neither of them is being chased
    • they all meet up on the same Gen

Also, if doing it that way, the overall efficiency would be a little bit smaller, since they cannot hit Great Skill Checks on Gens up to this point. So the total benefit will be less than 72%.

I would not say it is one of the worst Survivor Perks, but not worth running at all. But people see Bonus Progression on Gens and instantly freak out.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1993566#Comment_1993566

Yea I mean per hook / total. It's a pocket brand new part lol :)

Comparing it to a Brand New Part should show you that it is not worth a Perk Slot at all.

Killers can equip Ruin, Pop, Corrupt and Lullaby right now. But even that won´t stop the insane speeds at which gens are done right now.

Because a Build like this would be dumb as hell. In general, someone who uses Ruin and PGTW or Ruin and Corrupt does not put much thought into their Perk Builds.

    It can mean different things.

If I’m not running Kindred, I wave my arms when nobody is coming to get me. And I see most other survivors doing the same.

It does not have a meaning anymore. It was originally used for what @hatchking has written, if the Killer is camping, wave your arms. But as you see in OPs post, they thought it means the entire opposite.

And because of that, I wave my arms when I am camped (nothing else to do), but I dont really pay any attention what other are doing, since most of them are not being camped. It has no meaning anymore, so I dont interpret it as camping or not camping.

This coming from a Blight main who is pretty damn decent.

Some people like to call strong Killers weaker as they are to fit their narrative. Blight is a strong contender for one of the Top 5 Killers (with Nurse and Spirit being Number 1 and 2).

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1992738#Comment_1992738

    You're missing the point.

For survivors it's less because they are playing badly.

For killer it's literally the limit of their capabilities.

One is limited by skill (IE in your control) one is limited by game balance (IE out of your control). This is also an example of why you balance from the top down, not middle down like the devs do.

I mean, if you want to kill the game, you can balance it from the top down, if you like. Balancing Killers on the strongest SWFs would just result in the game being miserable for 99% of Survivors.

And if we balance for the Top Survivor players, we also need to balance for the Top Killer Players - so that Killers also have a miserable experience.

    Sound great.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1992557#Comment_1992557

Strong against players who play bad and make mistakes isn't strong. Strong is being able to make plays that are unreliant on survivor mistakes and you have a decent chance of winning when it's a good killer vs 4 good survivors. Very few killers meet that criteria.

Most killers can be played perfectly with zero mistakes and still lose against equally good survivors.

    And even less Survivors...

  • What is a strong Killer for you? For over 2 years the Killers which came into this game were at least decent.

Ghostface, Demo, Oni (very strong), Deathslinger, Pyramid Head (very strong), Blight (very strong) were more than decent. Even Plague is not terribly weak. Twins might be an exception.

If you are looking for a Killer with the strength of Nurse, this will never happen. And should never have happened in the first place.

  • @Anara said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1992338#Comment_1992338

How can you say Deathslinger without western map is strange but Twins without french map is not ? Its not because you dont know well french culture that the Twins dont deserve a new map and Deathslinger can get one.

The real problem is graphical update, making new content with old content. Behaviour is not the first studio to do it, and its very bad when it take us real new content.

A video game compagny should do both.

Im a big fan of dbd but since Blight im quite disappointed of their commercial strategy with maps.

What is a french map for you? Like, I cannot imagine anything under a french Map. But if I see a Cowboy, I totally know about the environment they are in. Let alone that being french is not really a distinct feature of the Twins.

When it comes to reworking old content into new content, this makes more sense than releasing new content AND reworking old content. If they would have created new Maps AND reworked the older ones, reworking the older Maps would have taken way longer (1 Realm instead of 2 Realms per Patch, most likely). So in the end, when they would have finished all old Realms, they can basically start over again for the next graphical overhaul.

  • Not only those. Aside from maybe Twins we had Killers who were at least decent for more than 2 years (Ghostface, Demo, Oni (really strong), Deathslinger, Pyramid Head (really strong), Blight (really strong))...

Trickster does not look like a bad Killer at all. He certainly will not rival Killers like Oni, Pyramid Head or Blight, but he is far away from being the worst Killer.

His Perks are also quite nice, Hex: Crowd Control is really strong and therefore worthy of being a Hex and No way out is a decently designed Endgame Perk (even tho, it can get some Buffs IMO, a full minute on Tier 3 will be fine as well).

The Survivor-Perks are mediocre, but most of the time you cannot expect them to be good anyway. But aside from the Perk which hides the Scratchmarks, they are also not horribly bad.

I can't imagine a neon or studio map with a lot of pallest and space to jump trought, so I see their point.

Twins and Blight are too specific lore killers to have a map

I would agree on that one. Blight, Twins and Trickster all came without a Map, but for all of them, it does not really hurt. Like, you can stretch a Map that might fix for Blight or Twins, but it will not really fit. Like, Deathslinger without a Western-styled Map would have been strange, basically you can look at most of the Killers and see what Map they fit with a general idea how it can look. But that does not apply to Blight or Twins.

For Trickster, I think a bright Neon-Map would look really strange in DBD. And who knows how much it can affect the performance on some older systems. What they could have done would have been a multi-floor building connected to The Tricksters lore where his former band members burned. But that is also quite stretched.

So it seems like BHVR has pulled out the Killers who dont really need a map to fit in.

There were Maps to be reworked for this Chapter, those will come at a later point. It might be possible that they manage to rework all Maps before the Anniversary, meaning that this will most likely be a chapter with a new Map.

  • But he will move after camping for 1 minute and 40 seconds! So let me crouch next to you to get ready for the Unhook!

That doesn't feel right tbh...i know they buffed exit gates for surv to be 14 seconds

When EGC was introduced they changed it to 15 seconds, but reverted it before Live Release.

Actually. it's 14 seconds to open a gate. and only 16 seconds added with Remember Me.

Exit Gates are 20 seconds to open. Around 17 with Wake Up!.

But as others have said, No Way Out does not apply on closing the Hatch. Similar to Rancor (the difference between "Exit Gates powered" and "last Gen completed" is already in the game)

  • I have not tested it, but I would not say that it is too strong. At max, the Perk can generate extra progress which is around the same as a Brand New Part. This is not worth a Perk Slot IMO.

O wow that's significant. Might be possible run addons that arent windstorm

The Speed Increase is around 18%. So he got something between green Windstorm (16%) and purple Windstorm (20%) as Basekit. This is very good. So if you were using green Windstorm before, you can basically stop using Windstorm at all, if this speed was enough for you.

  • He is pretty good. His Add Ons are mostly trash tho, the best ones are brown. Best Killer for Save The Best For Last.

Do you know what 6.0 m/s is in percentage by chance

    150%. Sprint Burst-Speed.

    does this make windstorm base?

This is between green (16%) and purple (20%) Windstorm at base.
