You got a point (as usual).

I think the reason I tend to be more understanding when it comes to rude killer behaviour is quite simply my personal experiences.

I personally rarely come across a killer who is just blatantly trying to be an arse when I play solo.

However whenever I play killer my first game is usually against a tbagging, clicky clicky Object of Obsession team so I'm honestly just biased in the way I judge toxic behaviour based on the "frequency of arses" I encounter.

I mean, in general, people who are playing toxic are quite rare on both sides IMO. Its just that the negative games stick more to the mind. If I play 10 games against Survivors, I will remember the one teabagging Dude, but I wont remember all the other Survivors who did nothing.

But from my experience, often enough when I had a rough game I end up in another game with the most casual people you can ever imagine. (rough in the sense of annoying Survivors, not that the game is difficult. Losing against some good and fair people is way less annoying than winning against some toxic people)

It would be just unfair to let out frustration on them.

One more reason to despise toxic SWF teams.

They mess with the killers and it's the solo queue afterwards that has to suffer for that.

Everytime I verse a killer that facecamps first hook I'm just like "aaah yeah... They probably faced some cocky SWF teams earlier".

As if solo queue wasn't already a roulette but then we get to face killers that are going into the match with a hostile mindset because of toxic SWF teams.

Just curious, why trying to justify the behavior of some Killers? Like, whenever a Killer player does something which is not nice, people go like "Yeah, he probably had a bad game before", instead of just assuming that this player might just be a dick?

And, in theory it is possible that the same happened to the SWF-Team - maybe they had a bad experience with a Killer before and then needed to vent?

I mean, I had two Ghostfaces lately who were really not nice. One used Agitation and Iron Grasp to get me into the Basement and then camped me while leaning with leaning Add-Ons, meaning nobody could get me. He had 10k hours, so he most likely was bored of the game.

And another Ghostface got run for two Gens and then proceeded to keep me slugged for almost 4 minutes while teabagging me the whole time.

It is quite unreasonable to think that all players who facecamp or do similar stuff got "bullied" in their games before. Especially since some players feel bullied, just when they lost the game. I have seen threads here where Killer players complained about "being bullied", because they got looped for a long time.

Don't even try man, it's like talking to a brick wall. You just have to accept that there are genuinely people in this world who get mad at someone for making their character crouch rapidly.

And the fact that for some reason the majority of those people play this game.

Yeah, I dont know why I even bother. In the end, an idea as bad as this one will never come into the game.

Yes, toxic gameplay should be punished. It is unhealthy for the game. And this suggestion, while difficult to implement, could be a step towards making killers feared.

We are talking about giving one of the most OP things in the game to Killers by basekit, because they are unable to grow a thicker skin. I have never seen a game like DBD where people are constantly complaining about other players spamming a button. There are so many games where teabagging is possible and DBD has the most offended players by that.

The idea is obviously completely unreasonable.

  • Break one of them and you have a really unsafe Loop. Not a big deal.

  • How can someone be so triggered by stuff like teabagging or vault-spamming? Teabagging and vault-spamming has no gameplay-purpose, no reason to punish it with a severe gameplay-penalty.

People want to play like Myers in the Movies, but complain when the Survivors vault-spam or teabag...

    Here's Objective:

The perk does nothing except to endanger one-shotting survivors already in the Healthy State, that get found, and hit, and don't make it to the hatch.

    Situations where NOED does nothing:

    • Against already injured people.
    • Games that end before gens are completed.
    • Games where you don't reach any survivors before the gates

NOED hate is from bad players that can't avoid the Killer at end game, especially those that rely on Adrenaline as a "crutch".

    • "Against already injured people."

Are you seriously ignoring 4% Movement Speed? The Movement Speed is probably more problematic than the Instadown.

    @Topic:

Yes, it is unhealthy. They either should rework it to a Perk which helps Killers who did well during the game, but does little to nothing to those who failed the whole match OR at the very, very least give a Totem Counter. If I know that there is only 1 Totem left, I am more inclined to search for it than when I have to guess how many Totems are left and have to check every Totem Spot, just to find out that there is still the best hidden Totem left, which turns into NOED.

  • One Survivor Perk will be called OP of course. Remember those other OP-Perks we got? Power Struggle, Desperate Measures, Soul Guard (even if this can be used, but far from OP), For the People and Breakout? Good times!

But I guess the Survivor Perks will be mediocre at best. Probably another "Get a Character to 40 and get their Perks on your Main"-Chapter for Survivors.

For Killer, I hope for some decent Perk which everyone can use, Tracking or Chase. No Slowdown please, we have enough Killers who already rely on too much Slowdown.

Then I guess there will be some situational Perk, which might be good on some Killers and not useful on others. And there will be one Perk which is like "Eh, I guess it exists".

Oh, and somewhat unrelated - cannot wait for the players who call the new Killer OP or too weak after playing exactly one game with them/against them.

  • @PlaysByShady said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1983813#Comment_1983813

Because it prevents the killer from achieving their objective... they've found a survivor, but cannot do anything to that survivor because they're standing still. Which forces them to having to keep coming back to check if the survivor is still there or not (and wasting time doing so) because for all they know, the survivor could now be active and doing gens.

So you seriously think that Survivors would stay still for at least one minute so that the Killer cannot hit them? Despite the fact that they are doing nothing even if the Killer is not nearby? And when they are nearby, they have ~60 seconds to find and hit the Survivor, who is doing nothing?

At this point I dont know anymore, lol.

  • I get the feeling of some maniac who got burned in the fire, looking for revenge - his Magnum Opus.

But probably I am as wrong as most of the people will be when the PTB goes live.

    Agreed.

Even when not seeing the Cages, you can guess quite reliable where they will be. And that guy will be on the hook in no time.

I still think it is bad from the Devs to introduce a Mechanic which ignores all Hook-effects but still counts as a hook when progressing the game.

If you play 50/50, which I know Tru3 does but am unsure if Otz does, how could you be a main of either? You main a side if you play it quite a bit more than the other.

Just listen what he says and you know that this "I play both sides"-stuff is simply to hide his bias.

  • There are good and bad Totem Spots.

Why does nobody open a Thread about all these good Totem Spots?

No, it's not. Franklin's is a trash perk for meme'ing. You wouldn't actually bring Franklin's if your main concern was winning.

Also, the only thing we know of being reworked out of those lobby issues is keys. That's it.

Keys are also the only problem in this list. The rest can be done with preparation or not being scary about SWF:

Same platform + Profiles-->SWF, most of the time it is whatever, does not even mean that they are good.

Flashlights-->Either face walls or equip Lightborn

Maps-->If you run Hex-Perks, adjust your build. Someone who brings NOED against a Survivor-Team with a Map (especially when there is a challenge for Totems in the Archives) cannot be helped.

Keys are the only real problem and those are being nerfed at some point.

It's not an overreacton. Killers really do this.

Lobby dodging has been a thing for a long time.

^ this. There were already people on the Forums who dodge players who use Prestige-Cosmetics.

The only thing that makes lobby-dodging somewhat acceptable is that the Survivors dont need to queue up again.

    @Topic:

But I agree, at least the names should be hidden. I am fine for items being shown, there are still Killers who dont chicken out when they see a Flashlight (which are the weakest Survivor-Item anyway), so it is fine if they at least want to prepare and maybe equip Lightborn - you know, preparation, the thing why Killers are allowed to see Survivors in the lobby in the first place - to prepare, not to dodge.

But names should be 100% hidden. There is no purpose for gameplay why names should be shown.

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

Survivors should get the benefits of making the killer think have Decisive Strike when not one of them is willing to use a perk slot for it? 16 perks, not a single DS, but the survivors deserve the killer to be fooled into thinking they have it

This might be the most entitled thing I ever read. The simple fix is to bring an obsession perk. There’s one called Decisive Strike, it’s pretty good you should try it.

I mean, as long as you are not complaining that all Survivors bring the same Perk, if they are basically forced to run DS (or any other Obsession-Perk), just for the sake of the Killer not knowing that they are free to tunnel?

And what is the problem with the Killer having an incentive to not tunnel? Especially since DS will be nerfed next Patch so that the Survivor who might have DS cannot do any Objectives without losing it.

  • @PlaysByShady said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1983655#Comment_1983655

Wait wait wait... you're honestly saying that survivors should develop automatic immunity from the killer just because they happen (or are pretending) to be AFK?? Are you for real?? That's so ripe for abuse! It punishes the killer for something completely outside of their control, and puts them at risk of the survivor "coming back to life" and proceeding with objectives completely unaware to the killer.

Suppose two people are AFK, how is the killer supposed to end the match? That's essentially holding the game hostage.

It takes 1 minute for the first Crow to appear. How is a Survivor not doing anything bad for the Killer?

The Killer will not notice anything from that, unless they are the one blocking the Survivor.

  • And still there is no way to escape those situations. Once the first AFK-Crow appears, the Survivor loses collision. Thats it and it is fixed. Neither Killer nor Survivors can take people hostage with that.

  • @SocialDistomancy said:

I'm confident it won't, that they'll make it something that sounds good on paper as part of their hustle but ultimately it will not have much of a beneficial impact for the killer in gameplay. They'd lose too much swf costume parties if they actually made the perk bearable for killers. Remember the goat see guy has said before that somebody is always supposed to feel frustrated after a match. they would rather it be 1 killer than 4 costume buying swf.

I am pretty sure that they will stick to the Object-Rework. Most of the Survivor players are not using the Perk, so they wont be affected anyway. And from those who use it, a good portion knows how busted it is.

I think there is only a really small amount of players who will actually be offended that Object is getting a Nerf. And an even smaller portion of players who actually think the Perk is fine.

  • Whats the problem that they run good Perks? Why did you not show your Perk Build as well? Probably because its pretty similar as well?

There is nothing wrong with running good Perks on both sides. Object is the only dumb Perk I see in your picture and this will, hopefully, getting nerfed.

  • Serious question - how long did you think about your idea?

  • @SocialDistomancy said:

you don't remember what happened to queue times for survivors the last time they did that? On a WEEKEND? It got bad on a WEEKEND... so if you enjoy 20-30 minute queues then shoowah ting bwoss

you'd only get the sweatiest killers after those waits btw since those would probably make up the bulk of the killers still willing to play within a few weeks of that

"Dead by Daylight is the most popular and innovative lobby-builder/simulator game of 2021." - Steam Awards

    It wasnt so bad.

But it was good that the bad Killers in Red Ranks were not able to "outplay" a Survivor at unsafe Loops by just pressing "W".

This is a terrible take to have. People don't "cry about every problem the game has" because they are complaining. People talk about those things because they like the game and want to see it get better for everyone.

    *for them. Not everyone.

    @Topic:

Fog Whisperers are Marketing, nothing more. However, the Devs know that some Fog Whisperers put out videos and watch them. E.g. I know that Tofus Videos get watched and Otzdarvas as well (so probably some more as well).

  • And next game they will complain about getting teabagged.

  • No, I would not say that this would work.

First of all, PTB would need to be a permanent Entry on Steam. Second, most people will most likely not play the PTB, PTBs are usually only played for a short amount of time and mostly with significant changes like a new Killer or bigger Reworks of Perks or Killers.

Also, it would only be accessible for PC-players.

I would rather say that they should just throw a few things in on Live whenever they are doing a Chapter. Like, dont make a big fuss about thinking if Trapper should start with more Trap, just throw it in. If it helps him, but does not make him oppressive, keep it. Otherwise, patch it out during the next major Patch.

Patches are usually 6 weeks away from each other, so if they test small things each time, this will not break the game at all. And if something turns out to be too strong, it will only be in the game for 6 weeks and will be patched out by then.

E.g. if all Maps are reworked, bring back old Balanced Landing - when there are Drops next to each Window, it should be fine to have the Stagger Reduction even with exhausted. Test it for 6 weeks - it is fine? Great, keep it. Balanced Landing is still too strong? Ok, removed.

This can be done for small changes (like Wraith Invisibility, Trapper having two Traps, etc.) or some bigger things (BL Stagger Reduction). For bigger Reworks, it would make more sense to monitor over a longer period of time without changing it, like they currently do.

But overall, I am for more tests, but I dont think that it will really be useful on a PTB.

  • Sounds like wrong category. What did you pick? If I am not mistaken, you should pick "additional player report information" for that one.

  • @WestManTooth210 said:

If that's take away from this, then that's not right.

Look, there also been times as well where I had longer penalties due to outside interference. I had one crash match DC, but also two neighborhood street internet outages which resulted in two additional penalties. And therefore, the penalties were out of my hands entirely.

While it indeed was out of your hand, you cannot really do anything about it. If the DC-Penalty would only apply on manual DCs via the "Leave Match"-option, people would be able to avoid them by pressing ATL+F4 for example. Or by pulling out their internet.

There would be no way to see if someone did that manually or if it was out of their control. It would just open a cheap way for players to get out of games for whatever reason without a penalty.

Hold on. Think about it. The two match crash DC's occurred "after" the bad match DC's. And so, penalty's are longer from match crash DC's. In no way is that justified or fair.

They are so long because you ragequit the games before. If you would not have ragequit, you would have had a lower penalty in your gamecrashes.

  • @WestManTooth210 said:

It shouldn't matter. If I said I was banned for 3 or 12 minutes of said reason, no one would blink an eye.

Imagine DCing twice because of bad matches. Then DCing twice again because of game crashes. You'll end up with a hour ban. Is that fair? Is that justified?

    Yes, it is fair.

You can argue that the two times because of crashes might not be fair, however, the two times DCing because of "bad matches" add up on your time.

You cannot Ragequit a couple of games and then complain when your game actually crashes, that you have a high penalty.

I got it to work once with Flip-Flop, DS, and Tenacity during the endgame — it wasn't bad, but I feel like the perk could be less dependent on other perks! 😅

I mean, yeah, you can get it to work. But if we look at the good Perks, they all can be used by themselves. You can equip DS without any other Metaperk, same for BT or Adrenaline or stuff like that.

However, for Power Struggle, you need to dedicate a full build around that. A Perk like that cannot be strong.

I have been hit by it exactly once, but it was useless, since it was in Endgame and the Hatch was closed... So the Survivor was able to get their Power Struggle off, but without any real benefit.

  • No, it is completely OP. It was chosen to be the OP-Perk when the Twins-Chapter released. This is tradition here, every Chapter one Survivor Perk (which will not be used a week after the Chapter released) HAS to be called OP.

    (No, seriously, it is garbage)

  • I mainly went for 2020, because there were more female Characters than male Characters, even tho, this is the same for 2019. But 2020 felt like they really wanted to catch up on female Survivors.

  • I think the main reason for that is that the Devs wanted to catch up with female Survivors. There were quite a lot of female Survivors coming in 2020 (beginning in 2019 with Yui, followed by Zarina, Cheryl and Elodie at the end of the year), which took up spots for Survivors. Now it is equal in terms of male and female Survivors, so I can imagine that now there is a higher Chance of having a male Survivor of color sooner or later.

But yeah, probably the Devs wanted to have an equal distribution between male and female Survivors before going for more males. Would at least make sense IMO.

  • Corrupt Intervention is a great Perk. And totally worth the Perk Slot.

  • Original Killers are more creative and usually better for the game. The Team has some high creativity, if we look at the last year, everyone of the 3 original Killers was really creative (and, aside from Twins, quite similar to Pyramid Head when it comes to power).

    Personally, I prefer Original Chapters.

  • I got it done in my third game, just changed my Build a little bit so that I can use Empathy (needed for the Challenge) and Unbreakable. And it worked out.

Its fine that there is a harder Challenge, you have two weeks before the next level. And if that is left as the last Challenge to do, you will most likely have 1 week+ to do it.

  • I dont know whats worse - this idea or that people actually upvoted it...

  • And I get green Ranks as Red Rank Killer. Maybe we should move your Killers to my games and vice-versa?

  • They are less smelly. Take it or leave it.

I guess nerf is the wrong word, he's definitely stronger now but with madness being his whole focus the passive madness stacks were a really unique aspect.

I am pretty sure that they removed the passive Madness because it was confusing for new Survivors. You are hiding and suddenly you scream. With the Static Blast you have an indication why you are screaming.

BMing Killers should not exist, same for BMing Survivors. However, whenever a Killer complains about teabagging, I tell them to grow a thicker Skin, same goes for Survivors who get BMed by getting hit on the Hook.

I personally count this one as a win, if the Killer gets mad enough to do that while I was not toxic at all, it seems like I did good enough for my team.

There still seem to be people affected by silent slugs yeah. Some are more often affected than others.

And additionally I noticed Iron Will sometimes not working, either for me or a teammate when playing survivor, don’t know if the killer hears it as well. And no, Stridor was not used in those cases.

    @MadLordJack said:

I just had that in a trial an hour ago. Got a lot of salt in the endgame chat, too, because the Dwight that bled out thought I was BMing (he was 3 feet away in some bushes when I alt tabbed out).

I felt bad, but what the hell can you do? Advantages can backfire.

Thank you. Like I said, I did not have this Bug for a long time.

Another Soundbug which just came to my mind when reading about Iron Will - sometimes I did not hear myself when the Killer had Stridor (I am running Iron Will), which resulted in me getting downed. I always "fixed" it by crouching once, but I dont know if this Bug is still in the game because I crouch automatically once I get hit by a Spirit.

Should pay attention to that one in a future game.

  • @HellDescent said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1972791#Comment_1972791

I bring it up because it's a bug that never got fixed. So what survivor bug has been in a game for over 3 years?

But again, what is your point? It is not fixed because BHVR has not found a way to fix it yet. Not because it is a Killer-Bug. If they would know how to fix it, they would have done it.

  • Did you die or did you escape?

If you died, the Unbroken-Emblem (Emblem Number 4) is incorrect, because it should be silver at max.

I get this Bug as well where it shows a Gold-Emblem upon dying, but the Emblems are calculated correctly. So I guess you got Bronze instead of Gold, which resulted in a Depip.

(Under the assumption that you died)

  • Gen Count can be a bit bigger.

Power should be smaller (the only important thing is the number for Killers like Huntress or the Powerbar for Killers like Nurse, Spirit, no need to show me that big that I have Hatchets as Power).

I dont get why the symbols need to be in vertical order. There is no reason to do so. Biggest problem for me.

    Character portraits dont look good.

  • @MadLordJack said:

With the exception of survivors being silent on the ground, sound isn't broken. Not that I think making footsteps almost impossible to hear was a good decision, but neither was making half the pallets in the reworks almsot worthless.

Is this still the case for some people? Because for me, this was fixed months ago. The only soundbug I had recently was Elodie either being way too loud in screams or not screaming at all.

  • I mean, I can understand them. Camping is never fun, especially not for the guy on the Hook. But there are more than enough situations where you cannot get the Survivor. Endless trading is one of them, at the very least the Killer gets lots of points and most likely at least one person will die anyway.

Same with some camping Killers, you cannot save against a Leatherface or Freddy or when NOED is active. And I just hate to see that a potential 1K for the Killer turns into a 4K, because some Survivors cannot leave people behind (which is noble in some situations, but often enough dumb).

  • @sesawyer3127 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/230208/if-you-dont-want-people-to-camp-stop-giving-them-additional-kills

Way to put your cheesy way to win by camping off on survivor players LOL. When people like you tunnel then camp it makes the game impossible and there are ALOT more of you then you think. In a 4 hour game play half of them tunneled and face camped,,,really c'mon??

If you do Gens, the camping Killer will get at max 2 Kills. The camped guy and most likely a NOED-Kill, because this Perk is so fair and fun /s.

But if you crouch around the hooked guy, the Killer wins by doing exactly nothing. Really, when I get camped on the Hook, the worst thing I see are some Survivors crouching next to me, waiting for the Killer to go. "He will probably go away after 1 1/2 minutes of camping!"

Against Campers, doing Gens and getting out is the best thing. If you throw yourself at the Camper, trading every Hook, this just results in the camping Killer getting Kills feeded to them.
