Only RL-stuff or high Ping.

I would not say that 2K is the most common result. If you look at all the games played, the result should be around a 2K/2E.
However, I think either 4Ks or 4 Escapes are the most common games, it is all about snowballing. Either the Killer cannot apply pressure, so the result will most likely be a 4 man escape. OR the Killer is able to apply pressure, which results in an Survivor being dead too early, which results in a 4K (you cannot really come back from an early Kill as Survivor, if there is not a huge skill gap between the Killer and Survivors).

That is not under BHVRs control. If they would be able to add Jason, they would do it probably immediatly. But it is not possible at the moment.
I dont know if it would have been possible when the game first launched (dont know since when the Lawsuit is going on), but it would have been far too expensive at this time.

Funny, I thought exactly of her when I read the Thread. She is probably a super-nice person, but I dont need to go against her in a game, not the most enjoyable experience, lol.

I don't know if you have money to waste. I wouldn't be surprised if they bought it just for dbd.
I mean, everyone can spend their money on whatever they like. But I dont see any reason to buy a 2400 Dollar-Headset just for DBD. For games with an actual competitive scene and the opportunity to win a lot of money, sure, but not for DBD.
(Like, my Headset is 80 Euros and it is more than enough for DBD or any other game I usually play)

I had the pleasure of going to shelter woods as blight 3 times in a row and 5 total one day. Was practically a stick o' butter. Still came out on top tho.
You should have played on Shelter Woods a few months ago - half of the trees you were able to bounce, the other half not. Was like a lottery if you will get to use it or just slide at it.
@Topic:
The Maps I hate the most are the Swamp-Maps. However, I think those are quite hated in the community.
So I would go for the Saloon. I dont like it with either side, I hate the short Loops, I hate every Breakable Wall, I hate the bushes, I hate the Mainbuilding...Basically everything.

all killers need to be buffed to match SWF
nurse and spirit are the only 2.
There is no more than 2.
You repeat the same incorrect nonsense all the time.
All Killers are viable in Red Ranks. No, you dont go against SWFs all the time. No, not every SWF is full of good players.
Those are the truths you have to accept. And all your complaining about SWF will not make you play any better, even a bunch of Rank 18 Megheads will win against you, when you play bad.
-
I would not change much. I decide mid-game if I want to change my gameplay, but thats it. And this is completely independent if I play against SWFs or not, if I feel the need that I need to slug to get some pressure (as an example), I will do this. But I wont start just when knowing that I play against SWFs.
I would also not change anything on my Loadout. I would do however if I would run Perks or Add Ons which might become less useful against SWFs. But not doing that, so my build always stays the same.
(I used to change my Loadout a lot a few years ago when I played against 4 man SWFs, I even switched the Killer to a strong Killer - just to find out that it was not needed and I stomped some really chill players with Spirit + strong Add Ons..)
-

Why hasn't SWF been nerfed yet?
there is literally only TWO killers viable at red ranks, nurse and spirit. Freddy was a close third but he's now B tier.
Why the ######### do you want to nerf 1 out of the 2 only killers viable at red ranks?
Do you want this game to die because no killers want to play in red anymore?
There are more Killers playable at Red Ranks.
I mean, you will probably lose most of your games even when playing Spirit. Does this mean that she is weak?
I won all of my games yesterday with Demo (yes, also against SWFs, two games were 4man SWF, at least one other was against two 2man SWFs). Demo OP?
-
Yes, this is an amazing experience. 11/10, would die again.
But I hope that this person did not buy such a Headset just for DBD but is also active in Comp-FPS-games or stuff like that. Such a Headset for DBD is a big waste (especially since you dont need to have such a good Headset for playing Spirit, a decent one is enough).
-
If you dont want to play Small Game or Detectives Hunch and you are playing Solo, just dont care about Totems. There is no point in breaking them, you will not know if all are broken and it just wastes time for a Perk the Killer might not even have.
Without any way of knowing where and how many Totems are left, you might just end up cleansing Dull Totems so that there is one left, which is the most hidden one. Especially because you cannot trust other players in Solo Queue, so every second on a Gen is valuable.
I guess you are better off with just memorizing where you have seen Totems and checking back, when the Killer indeed has NOED. But other than that, cleansing Dull Totems is a waste, as long as you dont need the BP (which is likely, since it is Boldness, which is pretty easy to get).
-
I guess I would delete DBD, would turn off my PC, go into a corner, curl up like an Embryo and start crying.

This is most likely not possible.
It has to be that strict, otherwise, people would abuse the system and just pull the Plug (as an example). There would be no way for the game to know if this happened on purpose or not.

I need to know where the haddonfield basement is okay!!!!
I mean, that is even the bigger Joke. You burn an Offering to spawn the Basement in Shack and you end up on Haddonfield (or any Map without a Main Building/Shack or fixed Basement Spawn). Yay.
Those really should be removed, I cannot see a purpose. The Killer should just see the Basement Hook by default for 20 seconds at the start of the game and thats it. Nobody would miss those Offerings.
-
Indoor Maps suck. IMO they are only enjoyable when playing a Stealth Killer with a fitting Build (like Mirror-Myers or Wraith with Silent Bell).
Main problem is the poor visibility. Like, I cannot see in the distance if there is a Survivor or the Killer, whichever role I am playing. However, I think they did a good Job on The Game with opening up the middle section (upstairs), this should happen on every Map. Just something where you can look further than just the corridor you are in.
-
Personally, I really hate Survivors who just try to go for Flashlight Saves instead of being productive. Like, I have seen Survivors go into second stage because someone was trying that hard for a Flashlight Save that they did not unhook the person on the Hook (which would be the same points..).
And it is just frustrating if I get downed and see that one person was hiding the whole time in hope for a Flashlight Save, just to miss it by a mile. Or the good old "I blind the Killer while he is walking, he will drop the Survivor"-people.
And as Killer, if a Survivor is under a Pallet and there is another Survivor next to it with a Flashlight, I 100% know what is gonna happen - they attempt to CJ-Tech. So instead of hitting Space, I just hit M1 and get either a Hit or a Grab. My favorite part was a Survivor who tried it two times in a row, going from Healthy onto my shoulder, just because they thought I am stupid enough the second time they try it on the same Pallet...
While I understand that Flashlights are fun to use, I feel like most players with Flashlights just waste their time and hurt their team, when they are really overcommiting. Going for a Flashlight Save when nearby is completely different of course.
-
Whenever someone burns those Offerings, I am always happy that they dont show up on the Bloodweb anymore.
At least we have useful stuff like Basement-Offerings now. /s
-
She will be nerfed in the future. I am 100% sure about that. If they nerf Billy, they will also nerf Spirit, who is far more problematic (and stronger as well).
The thing is, BHVR is taking A LOT of time with stuff like that. They nerfed Spirit in November 2019 and this did not really make her that much weaker, because her Basekit stayed roughly the same. So MAYBE we can see a Nerf this year, but I would not bet on that one.

Couldn't you go the opposite way though? Make nurse/spirit as weak as say trickster and balance the gens and survivors accordingly? (Aka no more god loops, infinites, god pallets, smaller maps so gens aren't going in like 3 minutes. Ect.
"And when everyones weak....noone will be"-said someone (probably)
I mean, in theory, this would be possible. But there are some problems:
First of all, players will not like that their favorite Killers get nerfed - even if it would be for a greater good and the game would be balanced towards low Tier Killer-Characters.
Second, for some Killers you would need to do a lot to water them down. Especially the strong Killers like Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Oni, PH... Some would probably be changed completely.
And, last but not least, this would result in stuff like longer Cooldowns for Killers or less impactful powers (e.g. Hillbilly would lose a lot of his mobility, since sprinting with 230% m/s would not be suitable for the new Powerlevel), which will most likely overall suck the fun out of many Killers.

Basically this.
The Devs use the Forums in their freetime. I would not give my freetime to get ######### on by people who understand less in regards to gamedesign than the Devs.
-
Gameplay-wise the changes have been minimal to Farm Maps. Just Breakable Walls got added.
The reworks are mostly on a graphical basis and aside from Cowshed, Coldwind is alright to play.
(However, I have bigger difficulty to see in the new Corn. Before I did not have any problems, with the new Corn, I sometimes lose Survivors now)
-
It will never happen that all Killers will have similar Strength. Like, you cannot buff Trickster to a point that he can compete with Nurse and Spirit, unless you make him unbearable to go against. Sure, you can buff him that he needs two knives for one Health State, this would make him A or even S-Tier, but nobody would want to play against him.
Like, it is impossible that Killers get on the same Level like that one Killer which ignores Windows and Pallets (Nurse). Realistically, DBD can never be fully balanced.
-
Corrupt Intervention helps you to get Map Pressure and win the game before all Gens are completed.
NOED means that you failed to provide Map Pressure and you just want your training wheels to get maybe one or two Killers in. Let alone that Killers who rely on NOED also dont really learn how to loop, if you only manage to get Downs with 4% extra Movement Speed, you still have to learn a lot.
-
My main problem with her is, is that she is boring. For both sides - as Killer, if the Survivors dont cleanse, you are an M1-Killer with Instadown but no power. As Survivor, if the team does not cleanse, you lose Bloodpoints, because you cannot heal people.
She is alright strength-wise, not too weak but also not too strong.
However, they really need to nerf her Corrupt Purge. It is just stupid strong, when she has it, she can basically ######### a whole team over, which is the reason why many Survivors dont cleanse. You see how strong it is when Survivors prefer to stay injured the whole game without any way of hiding their location.
So they should nerf her Corrupt Purge, but also give an incentive to cleanse. Something like going down after a certain amount of time (outside of a Chase) while being fully infected or a big Slowdown. Something which does not force you to immediatly cleanse, but makes you actually want to cleanse.
I guess, this would help her a lot, a Survivor Team would not get demolished if people cleanse and Plague would have more access to her Corrupt Purge.

I haqve only ever seen that deadend like once per map but that might just be my experience
So far I have seen multiple Deadends, the most prominent one was with Boxes left and right on the Pallet in one of the larger rooms on the outside of the Map (Downstairs). Have seen this in about half of my games.
Lately I have seen that even the very small Rooms, which only have two doorways have the possibility to block one door, which resulted in two downs for me in this room. Was pretty nice, sucked for the Survivors.
As Survivor, I had one half of the Map blocked downstairs, so that I needed to go upstairs to get around the Walls.
And, quite unfun and annoying: At the big Drop (with the Pigs, I dont know how this is called), one side downstairs was blocked completely, meaning there was only one entrance. The Bubba we faced had it pretty easy to defend this Hook, because we always had to run into him to try to escape.
And those are really unfortunate things, so I really think they should remove the Breakable Walls. And remove the extra safe Pallets which they added as compensation for Deadends.
Ideally, they should rework the entire Map, because it is very boring to play on (and has always been very boring), since the majority of gameplay has always been "Run around safe Pallets", which is boring for both sides and results in the Map starting really survivor-sided and shifting to killer-sided, once the Pallets are gone.
-
You should ignore the Breakable Walls as Killer, breaking them is only bad for you. I also dont think that this Map is that bad for Killer, I am burning it for those "Break X Pallets/Gens/Walls"-Challenges, if I dont have a Hawkins-Offering.
IMO the safe Pallets exist because some Pallets are not useable, due to the Breakable Walls, because they result in Deadends, until the Gen is done or the wall is broken.
It certainly could do with some less safe Pallets AND the removal of all Breakable Walls (The Game is a very good example of a Map where Breakable Walls are absolute nonsense), but it is not like it is unplayable for Killer.
-
This only works when all 4 Survivors are doing that. Like, I have seen two Survivors next to a blocked Gen with BBQ, meaning I was chasing and downing one of their teammates and they still did not work on Gens.
Also, I have seen Survivors doing that against Hags or Trappers...Which is the dumbest idea.
Personally, I dont do that, because a) I cannot really confirm what my teammates are doing and b) I queue up to play the game and not to hide.
-
Personally, I like the following Prestiges:
Nurse (looks amazing since the graphical Rework)
Myers (only mask, I like the detail that he has the blood on the eye which got stabbed in the first Halloween-Movie)
Bubba
Legion
Plague
Deathslinger
Pyramid Head
Those are the good looking prestiges IMO. Some look weird (like Trapper or Hag) and some others have way too less blood (like Oni, a Killer who mainly focusses on Blood, he should be soaked in it, but especially Twins and blight are lacking).
But overall, just go for whichever you like. I guess you can find pictures easily on the internet.
-
Iron Grasp is a free Perk, everyone has it. So it might be possible that the players in question did not have many Perks unlocked or on that Killer.
When it comes to worth running, not really. Agitation is better than Iron Grasp when it comes to carrying people.
-
Are you at Rank 1? Since two (?) Patches ago, it does not give +1/+2 when you are already at Rank 1. And if you are at Rank 2 with 4 Pips and get a Double-Pip, it only shows +1 (since you reach Rank 1 afterwards).
-
Have to agree on that one. I tried them out in a custom game on the PTB and they were nutty.
I also think that they lower the skill needed for Huntress. It is easier to get Hits close-range, due to the faster travel speed, which leads to less reaction time on the Survivor Side. However, if you go for long range Hatchets, because you are good at Huntress, you cannot really use this Add On, because it messes with your muscle memory.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH ok then that explais it....yeah but isnt that the point of the basement? one way in and one way out??? if killers blocking it just focus on doing gens and getting out??
The thing is, the Killer camping the Basement and making it very, very hard for Survivors to escape is fine. But the Killer camping the Exit, making it impossible to leave it (because their Hitbox is big enough to completely block the entrance) is not ok, so they disabled the Maps and will enable them again, when it is fixed. This has been done multiple times in the past (mostly because there were areas where Survivors can go through but Killers not).
Obviously, only if this is really the reason (as I said, no official statement), but it would make sense, since it has been brought up before.
-
Yes, both Maps are disabled in Custom Games. I got Thompsons House this morning.
But I have also read that the Maps are disabled. Sadly no official Information about it, as far as I know. (Apparently because Killers were able to block the Basement Stairs on Thompsons House and Rancid Abattoir)
-
I have watched the game and honestly, that guy played horrible. I was even surprised to see that he was Rank 2, but maybe he is quite amazing with other Killers and does not really know how to play Bubba or M1-Killers, so I dont really want to throw ######### at them.
However, the game cannot get more balanced than Coal Tower IMO. If you lose as Killer on Coal Tower, that is most likely on you. Same if you lose as Survivor, this is on you. Coal Tower is basically the pinnacle of balance, it is a small Map without crazy connected Tiles or without really problematic Deadzones.
And if we really balance around the fact that players like this Bubba should get Kills when playing like that, we can have the Killer start the match with a 2K at this point. Like, not every potato needs to win every game as Killer.
-
The popular Survivors get more Cosmetics. You get more for your money (aka paying the designers) if you let them create Skins for popular Characters.
Like, there are thousands of Meg-Mains out there and around 3 Adam Mains in total. So you would rather create Cosmetics for those Survivors who are played more (in my example Meg).

Yeah I really wish Behaviour would add a toggle for back objects like backpacks and Kate's guitar.
I just wish they would stop with the Backpack-Cosmetics at some point. Like, it started with Neas Harajuku-Outfit and since then, there were so many Cosmetics with Backpacks, seeing one without anything on the Back of the Survivor is becoming pretty rare.
-
It looks good. But I am really tired of Backpacks at this point.

No, the Characters itself are cheaper, because they are part of the Tome.

I like bully squads. Most of them suck at actually playing the game and it's so fun to make them rage quit.
Most of them see a Youtube-Video of some Survivor who plays like that and want to be like them, but skip the step of getting actually good at the game.
Those are my favorites as well, basically the easiest games you can get as Killer.
-
It is not that horrible. That one weapon of Wraith from one of the Rifts is around the same size and playing with it is just fine.
However, this shows that there should be a first person-view for Killers in the Shop to avoid exactly that. In the end, the first person is what the Killer sees most of the time of their Skins so it is important to show it beforehand.

I didn't see it yet in any match. Survivors love their broken meta too much to use this perk i guess. I have seen only a few running small game in swf and totems getting destroyed really fast, devour hope is rip. I didn't get to use it a single time not even for the 3 tokens the whole night.
There is no reason to equip another Perk when BHVR is scared and makes it super weak again before it goes live.
-
@smart212 said:
lol this new perk is so OP for SWF, you don't need any detective hunch anymore. What are you doing to your killer player BHVR ???
Excuse me?
This Perk is in the game for ages. They just changed the Picture, because it does not have to do anything with Traps anymore, so a Beartrap is not fitting anymore.
Other than that, the Perk got buffed a little bit, but it is nowhere near OP. Let alone that SWF does not really need this Perk, since they can get the information, how many Totems have been cleansed, for free.
I swear, some people...
-
From my experience, something like this happens mostly when Console players are involved (from a PC-perspective).
I guess those wait for a really long time and then the Matchmaker throws something together. Most of the time it is alright in my opinion, most games end up with my SWF-mate and myself (both Rank 1) and two low (yellow at best) Rank Console-players, against a Killer around Rank 8-12. Which means that they can capitalize on two weak players.
Seeing that there was a console player involved confirms my suspicion that this is something happening with Crossplay.

So Pings or voice commands would be the perfect solution?
It would be a better solution, yes. So basically removing the information gap by giving Ingame Information. Like, a Command Wheel which indicates like "I am being chased" or "Doing a Totem" or "Going for Unhook" does nothing for SWFs, but would increase the information for Solos.
But, and this is a BIG but - BHVR will not do that. Just look at the Totem Counter we got - Totem Counters were asked for for years and we finally got it - bound to a Perk. They also said that there are no plans to make Kindred Basekit, which was also asked for for a long time (even before the Buff).
I also dont know why there is no basic Chase Indicator and you only know that another Survivor is being chased when they are the Obsession. So there are no plans for the near future to close the Gap between SWF and Solos.

There are some good points in here that I missed; I hate it when someone catches stuff I miss. :) I've already stated that I think balancing the competitive edge of SWF can be handled a bit more gentle simply by unlocking an extra Perk slot for Killers when they face them. I think this is better for the Solos too, because then individual Perks don't get juiced to try and deal with the problem. The extra Perk only comes out when appropriate.
It still bugs me that I missed the whole language angle. But then again, your posts are always pretty on the beam.
I will just post the screenshot I posted in another reply to you (which you ignored):
(Again, no names censored, nobody did anything wrong, they were all nice players)
This is a 4 man SWF. Yes, they are not all Red Ranks, but this can happen in SWF, they are just friends playing together. The game is able to see if Survivors in the Lobby are SWF, however, it cannot see if those people are actually good at the game.
A fifth Perk Slot for me in this case would just mean that those guys stood even less of a chance - I did not tunnel or camp anyone (everyone got quite some points, so nobody died early) and still they did not manage to do all 5 Gens. How exactly do you wish to demolish those casual players, if I get access to another Perk Slot (like Corrupt Intervention to give me an even better early game, or Pop goes the Braincell?)?
It would basically be frustrating for every SWF which is not full of tournament players, those are the only SWFs which make Killer hard. However, there is maybe a dozen of those worldwide, not really a problem.
(Really, "highest level of play" is just an excuse to keep Bullshit in the game, while nobody who is talking about "highest level of play" is actually experiencing it...)
So, as long as the game cannot really predict that I (in this case) really NEED a fifth Perk Slot, otherwise I would get demolished, giving such a high advantage to the Killer is simply wrong. It would just punish those players who would have lost anyway, but they would get even less done (like, those guys got 4 Gens done, I was in no danger of losing at any point... Should I finish the game with 5 Gens left instead?...)
