If only there was a reason why killers are running slow down perks... I guess we'll never know.
Yeah, mostly because they are bad. At least when they are running multiple Slowdown-Perks.
But its funny, they complain that tracking might be difficult with new Lucky Break, but they dont want to adapt by adding more Tracking Perks. Because stacking Slowdown-Perks makes the game way easier for them.
-
I doubt that Killers will use Spies from the Shadows. They are too attached to their Slowdown-Perks, sadly.

I'd like to see BVHR disable SWF for a day and survivors now have to adjust playing solo.
But that's a learning curve SWF doesn't want to learn.
And then you will still lose the majority of your games. Not playing against SWFs does not make you stop trying to mindgame super-safe Pallets or losing people right in the open, because you are not able to track them. You are the reason why you lose games.
Let alone that there is 0 reason for them to disable SWF, because they already are able to get Data from games played where all 4 players are solo, since this is already happening.
-
"I've also noticed that it's reportable, which makes me think that, whether or not anyone is actually ever punished for doing it, it's at least considered "against the rules" to the degree that the game has rules."
This is incorrect, the Bodyblocking you are describing is totally fine and intended. You can hit the Survivors as Killer so they lose Collision with every other player, allowing you to move forward. "But then I might drop the Survivor?!"<---that is the point.
Bodyblocking is a bannable offense when you do it as a griefing method. When the Killer or another Survivor is blocking a Survivor into a Corner without any intention to move. This is a bannable offense. Bodyblocking to avoid a player getting hooked or bodyblocking someone into a Corner to get a Hit in are not bannable.
-
To be fair, many Killers complained about that when The Twins came out, so they also did not understand that it is basically chasing two Survivors at once.
I agree to you, Survivors who keep Victor on their back are doing the wrong thing.
-
@HollowsGrief said:
You think the far stronger of the two perks should be buffed to fully counter the already weaker perk? Okay.
Iron Will is stronger than Stridor, this is correct. However, if it is Iron Will vs Stridor, Stridor is stronger, because it counters Iron Will. Let alone that the only reason to use Stridor is to coutner Iron Will, which is fulfilled at all time.
-
You are just not good at the game without any learning curve. Just accept that and have fun with your limited abilities and dont care too much about balance of topics which you dont understand.
Much better than just opening a Rant Thread every few hours. The game is not as imbalanced as some people claim.

I know many people complain about his PoV and animations. I am still confused what they mean, I don't really recognize anything, or do you mean the limping?
I did not see any footage (it would be nice to see the current state with the state when his animations were fine). And some point they redone the animations for Billy and Wraith (e.g. give Billy his limping when carrying a Survivor) and during the same Patch, his first person animations were janky as hell. Like, really horrible.
They fixed a lot of that, but he still feels quite odd. As I said, I cannot really put my finger on it, it is really hard to describe.
-
I mean, he is right on that one. Like, I am fine with completely gutting this Add On, it was in the game far too long. But the Nerf they went for is simply lazy.
Again, it is fine to do it that way. However, they could have done it far sooner, they said it 2 years ago (at least twitch is showing 2 years as a timestamp) that "Insta down Huntress is a goner, dont invest in Insta Down Huntress" and you dont need to wait for an Add On-pass on Huntress to make a change that it does trump other Add Ons and is limited to 1 Hatchet.

Id stop communiticating with this toxic community too if I was them. However the devs aren't entirely innocent. They do good work here and there..........but then there are times when I have to ask "######### were they thinking?"
Yeah, I agree on that one. I am also disappointed in some things which got changed, most prominent feature would be the HUD (especially if you look up that the UI Lead has years of experience..).
However, I remember that Almo was the one who talked a lot on the forums and everytime he got ######### on by people, sometimes completely unrelated to the topic he was responding to. And I can fully understand that at some point he is fed up with it.

I fully agree but they shouldn't just stop listening to the community because of some bad apples.
Communicating =/= listening.
They do listen to the community, however, listening does not mean that they have to react ASAP. Sometimes they are fast in reacting (e.g. when people complained about the Rat Liver Changes), sometimes it takes a while.
-
@Brokenbones said:
The biggest problem right now is the lack of communication, I'm of the belief something internal has led them to stop communication with the community as much. It still happens but not as much as it used to. Their priorities are seemingly around new content rather than fixing what's already there at times but credit where credit is due - they responded to the complaints about Trickster moderately quickly in BHVR time.
It didn't take as long as it did for Blight's POV to finally be what it should've been on release.
Also their seemingly tendancy to give a tacit 'okay' to people using exploits still baffles me a bit.
Well, considering that they get ######### on most of the time, I can understand why they stop communicating (and as far as I know, they communicate in their freetime). Communication is a privilige, not a right.

They took an immensely fun to play killer and made nobody want to play him. Sounds like a gutting to me.
IMO the bigger problem are his animations and the POV changes. I stopped playing Billy entirely when it was completely bugged, because it was really disgusting to play as him. It is not disgusting anymore, but it feels weird, I cannot really describe it, but if you played a lot of Billy before they changed (or messed up, would be better) his animations/POV, it just feels really different and weird.
Like, you dont really feel the Overheat and as long as you did not rely on Add Ons too much before, you also dont notice the Add On-Nerf.

Would be nice if they change her creepy Meg-Breathing as well.

They said when they nerfed him they were happy with how he performed. Then gutted him for no reason. Everyone agreed his addons needed changed, but his basekit was fine.
Saying that they were happy how he performed does not mean that he should stay the same. This was ONE sentence out of their Dev Update and everyone really only used that one sentence for their "arguments". He had (and still has) one of the best of not THE best Map Mobility in the game and an (somewhat, with practice) easy to use Instadown. He just became more punishing, because his BS-Add Ons got removed and the Overheat was added.
But its not like he was gutted. (Even tho I know that Killers like to use this term for every slight Nerf which happens to the Killer Side)
-
Only because Otz is saying something does not make it true.
Freddy currently is easily A-Tier, contestant for Top 5 Killer. After the Nerf - at worst, he will be high B-Tier I guess. Maybe still A-Tier, in the end, not much has changed and his Chaseplay will be roughly the same as before, except that you cannot really spam Snares, but placing a snare on both sides of a Pallet still should grant a Hit.

Yes but replacing a green charge time addon with one that increases rate of cooling when flashlighted? Really?
Thing is, what do you want to give him?
He already has Turning and Speed Add Ons for his Chainsaw, he has a range of Cooling Add Ons/Overheat Add Ons. If you dont want to give him Chargetime or Cooldown, there is not much left to give.
-
@Moxie said:

Changing his chainsaw was one thing.
Absolutely destroying his add ons is another.
An add on that only works if a flashlight is shining on you. Hard to believe they even play their own game sometimes.
I never cared about Add Ons to be honest. I used Hillbilly without Add Ons since forever, and I am not starting to use Add Ons now. I tried Engravings and the brown Overheat Add-On, but the extra Chargetime messes me up all the time, but other than that, I dont use Add Ons. So I did not notice the Add On-Nerf at all.
The thing is tho, Charge Time and Cooldown-Add Ons were pretty problematic on Billy, and they had to find an replacement. He has quite an easy power, there is not much they can give him without making the Add Ons too good. Which results in a lot of "fun" Add Ons.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
What an exaggeration. He still has the 2nd best mobility in the game and a solid antiloop. I wouldn't put him anywhere other than low A. Just because you can't backrev with instasaw anymore it doesn't mean he's on the same tier of Legion.
Overheat barely affects someone if you're not running double engravings. What drives people away from Hillbilly are his new annoying POV and animations (Shadowborn is basically mandatory on him now), but his basekit is almost the same.
"What drives people away from Hillbilly are his new annoying POV and animations (Shadowborn is basically mandatory on him now), but his basekit is almost the same."
YES, the POV is really, really annoying. I am playing a lot of Billy lately, but I still hate his POV and animations, I just hate them. And I dont really want to use Shadowborn, I am fine with the build I have and I dont want to get used to Shadowborn too much.
What they could change tho are the Engravings, maybe let them also provide less Overheat to compensate for the extra Overheat due to the longer Chargetime.
-
"because according to the devs he was the most balanced killer" - nonsense. The Devs never said it like that, the Community made this up. And Billy was called "the most balanced Killer" for at least two years. But if Killer gets easier and easier over time, something which was called "the most balanced Killer" in 2018 cannot be "the most balanced Killer" in 2021.
His Nerf was justified. I also would disagree with Billy being that low on the Tier List, he is still a force when used by someone who is decent with him. Probably not against really strong Survivors, but then again, this goes for almost every Killer.

Going against Iron Will as Spirit can be frustrating which is why I think Spirit and Iron Will should be reworked at the same time.
You mean going against the only thing that somewhat "counters" (and is not even a real counter) her is frustrating? Eh.
@Topic:
When she does not have Stridor, it can be quite fun, even if she is decent. At least there is a chance to do something against her with Iron Wíll. And if she is bad, it is funny to make fun of her being bad, but thats about it.
Killers who play Spirit dont want the Survivors to have fun, so I also dont have fun when going against her with Stridor.

Would totally be possible, even tho it would most likely be a Survivor-only Chapter, except someone wants a generic Zombie as a Killer.
However, I personally dont want a Survivor-only Chapter, they would just release it with a Cashgrab-Perk again to give people a reason to buy it (who are not completionists or simply like TWD), which would get nerfed shortly afterwards anyway.

Just out of curiosity, are you okay with keeping regular tombstone if the piece got removed?
I do agree Myers is addon dependent but I kinda like that about him honestly.
I think the regular Tombstone is fine. It takes more stalk than the Tombstone Piece and has a Movement Speed-Drawback. IMO the Tombstone Piece might also be alright if it would only allow to kill fully stalked Survivors. This way at least it does not happen that the guy who did not see Myers the whole game dies, just because the teammates did not pay attention.

I think the thing people fear with myers is theyll fix his problematic addons that actually make him a menace and actually make him very good. But they won't change his basekit at all leaving him as a literally d tier killer since the bs addons are the only thing that really carry him. (Otz addressed this in his tierlist as well that myers is the definition of addon dependant)
You neither need the Tombstone Piece nor the Tuft of Hair to do well with Myers. But his range of useful Add Ons is pretty limited, I mostly run the Hairbow and a stalking Add On, which is already a very strong Add On-Combination. But the bullshit Add Ons are not needed IMO.

I honestly didn't mind Huntress's iri hatchets but I can see why people hated them. But I do think they went overboard on the nerf (would prefer make it 2 and cap at 2 instead of 1). Id honestly rather them just remove them at this point and give her a different ultra rare.
The only thing which annoys me with Iri Heads is that the Nerf is really lazy. This could have been done a few years ago, they knew before that this Add On was a problem. I mean, I dont mind, the Add On can be completely butchered, but it was a lazy Nerf.
@Topic:
When I think about Add Ons, I think about Pig and Myers.
Pig-->Changing outdated Add Ons like Tampered Timer, it is 2021, no need to have an Add On like this which basically only awards cheap RNG-Kills (combined with the purple Crate or the purple Sketch, it is impossible for a Survivor to do all the Boxes when disturbed only a little bit). That is the biggest one IMO.
Then they should rework the Add Ons which give Mangled and Exhaustion, because they only promote to tunnel people with a Trap. Hemorrhage might fall into the same category, however, I think giving it to her at Base would be neat, since the Survivor has a Trap attached to their Jaw, obviously they are bleeding.
Also outdated Add Ons like the ones which give more Skill Checks or make the penalty bigger should be reworked. They dont have any synergy anymore (Lullaby/Unnerving were patched years ago to not work with Jigsaw Boxes), so no reason to keep the Add Ons, which make it easier for experienced Survivors to get the Traps off (because of the increased Skill Checks), but harder for newer Survivors (because of the bigger penalty).
When it comes to replacements, I would like to have more Add Ons to promote her Stealth and Dash, because her Traps are not her only Power. They could also add stuff which increases Movement Speed while crouched, Ghostface has it, so no reason why Pig should not have it.
Myers:
Tombstone Piece and unlimited Evil need to go. People are saying it is hard to get to Tier 3, but it really isnt, especially when using the Memorial. They are simply outdated Add Ons.
Also, many of his Add Ons dont really see use, stuff like increased Movement Speed while stalking is not really useful, you just go from super-slow to less super-slow. The god awful Vanity Mirror also needs changes, it is a horrible Add On, there is no point in using it over Scratched Mirror (you only get 2% more Movement Speed and a bigger lunge, but have a smaller Aura Read, a Terror Radius and have to tier up first... Not worth using).
In general, I hope they give Myers some love, he is the prime example of a powercreeped Killer, when I started playing, Myers was ranked as low A-Tier all the time, now he barely makes mid C-Tier.
-
One Example would be, if the Killer has Tinkerer, it makes more sense to use the Toolbox when Tinkerer triggered - this way you have a higher chance of completing the Gen before the Killer arrives.
Another example would be to use Toolboxes on the last Gen instead of one of the early Gens. The first Gen(s) of the game are the easiest, every Survivor is alive, the Killer has low Map Pressure and all ressources (Pallets) are still on the Map. In the Lategame, the Killer might have a lot of pressure, Survivors are on Death Hook or even dead and there might be a lot of Deadzones. So it makes more sense to save the Toolbox until this point, to make repairing the harder to repair Gens (aka the last Gen) faster.
-
They said that they want to make Events for Anniversary and Halloween. So who knows what they planned.
Personally, I am fine with having a Lobby, Cakes (105% for every player) and Items. I would like to have the Crowns back, they were fun to collect, however, I hope they are not doing something different (like Crowns, but they are not Crowns), because I really dont want to collect them all again. Just for new Characters would be fine.
For the Livestream, I expect a lot of annoying Viewers on Twitch who just write "skip" to see the RE-Trailer. Also, I expect to see the winners of the Cosmetic Contest.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/246128/should-swf-be-nerfed
No, they don't need to be Nerfed. What needs to happen is Solo and Team need to be separated into different Queues. The Killer fighting against a SWF needs a 5th Perk Slot opened up, only available in these Team Matches to offset the SWF's 5th Perk (Comms). This should be tested for a bit to see if it is enough; it might be. If not, another objective, i.e. a 6th Generator can be added for SWF teams.
*Even if they didn't break the Queues apart, they could simply set the system to give the Killer the 5th Perk Slot whenever 3+ people enter from a Team Lobby. Problem solved.
Its hilarious that you want to give the Killer a super-huge advantage by giving them a 5th Perk Slot and then have the audacity to say that it "might" be enough. Or adding a 6th Generator.
SWF is not a problem, that should not even a discussion. People should learn to stop blaming their losses on SWFs. Like, here is a screen, few days ago, full SWF-group (I dont censor their names, because no point in doing so, nobody did anything wrong, they were all nice players):
Yes, they are not all Red Ranks, but this can happen in SWF, they were just friends playing together. How much do you want people like those to be demolished if I can equip a 5th Perk Slot (like PGTW or Corrupt Intervention) and maybe they even have to repair a 6th Generator, despite not being able to repair 5 in the first place?
And those games are really no exception, lol.
-
Because Spirit was not strong enough, so there had to be a counter against something that "counters" her power. :^)
Yeah, I dont know. It is simply math, at least for DBD.
-
Yes, you can. Dont do it.
-
I am just like "Woah, stretched res of doom" and then I dont care, because I dont care about stretched Resolution in general.
(It should be removed, however, as long as they are not a Streamer, I dont know about it anyway, so I dont care. And I will not start giving a ######### about it just because I saw that they were streaming)
-
Who should play a 2v6-Mode? Let alone that Balancing is a pain in the ass for that, who do you expect to play it?
Like, Solo Survivors will not play this mode. Solo can already be a mess when you have 3 Randoms, if you have 5 of them, you dont want to play anmore. So if anyone, SWFs will play this mode, either full SWFs (6 people) or smaller SWFs like 2 3 mans or stuff like that. And we all know how much Killers love to go against SWF or how much they blame their losses on them.
So in the end, the only people who would like to play it are probably Killers and maybe SWFs. Queue Times will probably horrible for Killer in this mode, so I guess, while it might be quite popular for a while, it would be dead rather sooner than later.
-
IMO no player should depip when someone DCs. This goes for Killer and Survivor. Just a Blackpip should be the minimum in this case.
-
Yeah, it is too easy on both sides. IMO Killer is a little bit easier to get Pips, but Survivor is easier to play.
Like, as Killer, I get more Double Pips than Pips and more Blackpips than Depips, when compared to Survivor.

I still remember that Tome one challenge of using NOED to take out 2 survivors endgame. Those were tough times! :D
I prefered the single challenge ones that required certain perks to the "earn 5 devout emblems in silver" ones as they were more involved.
I'd like to see some more unusual ones, such as completing the gen in the main building; find a glowing cell batch in the arena or even taking a hit yourself whilst saving a survivor off the hook in the endgame collapse. Killers are a bit trickier for variety, but maybe defending the main building gen or discover some lore within the realm.
I know there are better suggestions, but I think either more things need to be added to the trials (even as a one off, such as those red thingies), or even allow a set amount of trials to use perks that player may not have to complete a challenge using it.
There wont be that much more unusual challenges. DBD-players want it as easy as possible, so they complained about the Challenges in Tome 1, when it takes them more than 1 game to complete them.
So we will have more Challenges which are like "Break 25 Pallets/Generators" or "Repair 15 Generators" and stuff like that. Because those are easy enough for the standard-DBD-player.
But because the Challenges should not be done in 2 hours, they need to be grindy. So yeah, thanks to the players who are not willing to go out of their way (or their Perk Build) for more than 1 game, we have those super-grindy and boring Challenges.
-
Meanwhile Killers get more BPs by default, have an easier way to get Bonus BPs and have way less Junk in their Bloodwebs (aka are more likely to get their good stuff to use more often).
Yeah, totally unfair.
-
I am not sure if this is still in the game. The last days I get yellow Items at max and also brown Items, when the bug appeared at first, I never got brown Items.
I also dont see any Keys pulled from Chests in my games. But can be a coincidence.
In general, I would like higher rarity stuff in Chests. They are not worth to open most of the time, unless you really need a Medkit. Except for Keys, more Items of higher rarity would be nice.
-
4 - Clown, Kate, Adam and Spirit. Everyone else with real money. (Which is kinda a shame, because I would love to have the white Shirt on Kate, but I wont buy the Chapter just for that)
And nowadays I pretty much only buy Cosmetics with Shards or sometimes Perks in the Shrine, when I want to click some Bloodwebs.

Not giving people clicks who want to promote exploits, but two things:
McLean said that you should not get used to the Flicks, aka it will be patched at some point.
And second, it is only possible to do on PC. Things which are only possible on one platform but not the others should be called exploits by default.

Oh the irony. Whenever someone like Otz does a kill streak, people take that as proof that killers need nerfs.
But whenever someone shows survivors do a escape streak, people claim, that not everyone play like this.
Big difference:
Whenever Survivors get a long Streak it is because they bring really strong stuff AND are in an SWF where their teammates are dying for them. This does not happen in normal gameplay, even with a full SWF. As long as they are not going on a Streak, they are not throwing themselves at the Killer to get one person escape.
Killer Streaks can be done in normal matches.
I dont think that either is a problem, because both are edge cases. Killer Streaks are more telling that Killer is not as bad as some people (including you) are claiming it to be, but thats about it.

And, I'd like to ask how frequently you see a Clown, much less a Clown with RHPF.
I really don't have a problem with it.
What people should be complaining about is the synergy between the Gloves and the RHPF, which basically turns bottles into Huntress Hatches.
I mean, this is the main reason why there are not many complaints. You rarely see a Clown (even after the Rework) and you even less see them using Pinky Finger. But only because a really strong pink Add-On exists, does not make players play the character more. If more people would use Clown, you would hear way more complaints about the Pinky Finger.
I think you can say they are almost as strong as Iri Heads (if we only look at the Add On alone), however, Huntress is stronger than Clown at base, which makes Iri Heads overall a stronger Add On. And this since you dont slow down anymore after a Bottle Throw.
But yeah, it is probably low priority or no priority at all, otherwise the Devs would have changed it when they reworked Clown.
-
@Pulsar said:
Well, Iri Head is being nerfed.
Redhead's Pinky Finger is fine imo, you have to actually aim and it's fairly hard to get a direct hit with Clown.
I dont think it is fine anymore. Since he does not slow down anymore after throwing a Bottle, it is really easy to get consistent Hits with Pinky Finger. If you get the Gas effect before, you have it quite easy to get the Hit afterwards IMO, sure, it costs 2 bottles (if you are quite close), but it is not hard anymore.
-
Hex: The Third Seal (I dont think that everyone knows your abbreviation instantly) can be strong, yes. But only against Solos. Which is the biggest weakpoint of this Perk.
And even against Solos, they see the Bubble were someone is hooked. So at least they should know where a hooked Survivor is (if they are paying attention, but thats on them).
-
"Do you remember the legion mending bug? Killers who used it by mistake or abused it got banned."
To be fair, there was an ingame-message which said that the exploit is bannable. And it was the only exploit where Killers got banned for, no Killer got banned for exploiting the Tinkerer-Bug a few years ago (for example). Killers also did not get banned for using Basement-Builds when it make Survivors getting stuck in the Basement (Survivors got set back into the Basement when trying to leave it sometimes, meaning they would be stuck the entire game in Basement).
The only exploit which was bannable was the Mending-Exploit. And they warned that it was bannable. If someone used it "by mistake", they did not read the Ingame-Message, which would be their own fault.
-
IMO it is decent on some Killers. I run it on Doctor, Clown and Huntress. Doctor and Clown, because Survivors tend to drop Pallets early against those Killers. And on Huntress, because I dont have any better Perk to run (Whispers, Corrupt Intervention, BBQ, 4th Perk is either Brutal Strength or Nurses, I cannot decide really).
But in my opinion, it is good on Clown and Doctor.
