Rubbish, even some of the best players / streamers have a hard time against SWFs not because of skill but because of cheating on comms, don’t care what you say, it’s cheating.

SWF is not cheating. This was also confirmed by the Devs. Also, they offer the possibility to play with Comms on their own Discord-Server. If YOU think that it is cheating, this is one thing. But that does not mean it is cheating.

  • Overall, I like that they are taking a risk. They should do more of those, just buffing a Perk to a questionable amount and see how it plays out. If the Perk is fine-->Great. If the Perk is still too weak-->Need to figure out something else. If the Perk is too strong-->Nerf it again. Depending how fast they are doing it, this should be between 1 1/2 months or 3 months, depending if they want to wait a full Chapter or just wait until the Midchapter.

I have to say, I was also thinking that they overbuffed the Perk, but they have to do something like this to have a chance to change the Meta. Nobody will run Lucky Break if it is just buffed from "super-meh" to "meh". And if Killers want extra tracking because of Lucky Break, they can try out stuff like Spies from the Shadows (no Killer will do that, because they are too attached to their Slowdown-Perks).

I also tried it out on the PTB and the results were mediocre. I got away like 1 out of 6 times in total when using Lucky Break. Granted, every game was on Coldwind Farm, which is not the easiest Map to disappear.

Overall, I dont think that Lucky Break will have a big impact. Second Chances are still the better choice for Survivors, except for those who prefer stealth, for these Survivors, Lucky Break might be an option.

  • Only because you are using the one Killer which can apply pressure while still holding a Survivor hostage, does not mean that you are not holding them hostage.

    Still bannable.

  • Because the majority of Killers in this game are bad. And instead of accepting that they are the fault they are losing games, they blame other things. SWF the most prominent one. And even if the team are 4 Solos, they just pretend it was an SWF, because SWFs are COMPLETELY unbeatable, as we know.

Like, two people bodyblock for the injured guy at the gates? Must be SWF. Because Solos will never ever know what to do in this situation. One guy gets chased and others are doing Gens? SWF! The guy getting chased told them to do Gens. Because Solo Survivors will never do Gens unless someone tells them to do them.

SWF is just a scapegoat for bad Killers.

  • Do you mean funny as fun to play or how funny they would be when meeting them? Because Myers would probably be a lot of awkward silence.

    I WANT THE KILL

survivor mains wouldn't understand it's not about the points.

"I want the Kill". This shows exactly what I have seen when I watched a few games from your stream - you dont have fun playing DBD.

Quit the game. Really. You are not good at it. You dont want to improve, you want to blame your losses on literally EVERYTHING in the game. And on top, you dont have fun at all.

At least this should show you that you should quit DBD. Which is fine, the game is not for everyone. And I gladly accept that this is a Killer which is leaving the game, the only thing that would be mildly entertaining would be Postgame Chat-flaming when going against you.

Saying "I want the Kill" in combination with your rage shows that you dont really care about having fun. You just want your pitty 1K and rage, instead of just moving on and going into the next game. Like, you were blaming SWFs (with the same 4 words repeating everytime) for solid 10+ minutes after that game.

  • I have also beaten Otz while playing Solo or in a 2 man SWF.

Am I a god now? Otz is also just a player - a really experienced one, but he can lose games as well.

  • Have to say that I liked it more when DS worked on pickup. Because this way, a Killer was able to avoid the DS and simply kill the Obsession in Endgame.

However, since they changed it, I dont like Rancor too much. Randomly becoming the Obsession is just annoying and stressful, when it means that you can die without being hooked once. Also, I dont like that it is a thing with Undetectable. I remember people like to remind Survivors who complain about Rancor that the Survivor gets the information that Rancor is in play. Which is true, except for Undetectable.

I once got rancored by a Ghostface, because he never was out of Stealth when a Gen was done, so the information that he had Rancor was not available at all.

But I also dont think that the Perk really needs changes or anything.

I feel like you are either the new one. Or are just survivor main. Gen speeds are not fine at all. If we're just being honest here

Almost 5800 hours, playing both sides, always Rank 1 on both sides. So yeah, I have no idea what I am talking about, clearly.

The thing is, I can accept that I am the reason why I lose my games as Killer and not Genspeeds, SWF or whatever cheap excuse most people make up for their losses.

And personally, I would consider myself a Survivor Main, because I like that role more, despite playing both roughly the same. And I would also not say that I am good at Killer, but if I can do fine and dont complain when I lose, this makes me question how bad players are who complain on a constant basis.

But even without having over 5000 hours in the game someone should know that Gen Times of 2 minutes are way too much. (And even if they would be that long, there would still be some people who struggle and demand more...)

Mk ill test that (were doing it in customs btw i don't do stuff like this in main game even if its funny to do).

I never tested it myself, I am not running Tampered Timer, I refuse to use it. (IMO Pig is capable of being played without Add Ons)

But Scorpionz talked about it in a video:

    https://youtu.be/fJF1WPKUu8A?t=626

I also added a Timestamp. He tested it together with Otz.

  • Double all Category-BP-Offerings (green-->200% per Category, yellow-->150% per Category, Brown-->100% per Category) and remove the Category Cap, but keep the 32k Cap.

This should be the very least.

OR, just double all Score Events, let Survivors get 100 BPs/600 BPs for Skill Checks on Gens or Killers 600 BPs for Hits, etc. up to a Maximum of 64k BP per Trial.

  • Either works, if you want to have cheap RNG-Kills. With both it is impossible to remove the Headtrap if the Survivor is unlucky (aka last Box) and is not going from Box to Box as fast as possible.

  • I will buy the Chapter 3 times just to annoy you.

  • @Brokenbones said:

Because survivors run the same 4-5 perks and the meta is stale

You can say they are "too powerful" but killer also has strong perks, so survivors should also be allowed strong perks too.

Both sides should have strong perks and both sides should be able to have variety.

    ^ this.

Like, Exhaustion Perks are an awesome example. You have 6 Exhaustion Perks in the game currently (I dont count Adrenaline). From those, only 2 see use frequently, with Head On being seen now and then, but only because it is a fun to use Perk and not because it is actually good.

3 Perks were used some time ago, but Balanced Landing was nerfed into being mostly useless, so we only had Sprint Burst and Dead Hard left. Now, if Killers get their will of nerfing Dead Hard, only Sprint Burst remains, which will make the Meta even more boring - and Killers will complain again, because it is frustrating that Survivors can do Gens while being completely save, since they can get away with Sprint Burst while the Killer is approaching (no real need to run early).

Now, there is a new Perk, Smash Hit - however:

    • It is really situational
    • It only works against Killers who are more likely to get stunned, e.g. it does not really work against Nurse or Spirit and most likely Deathslinger and Huntress as well
    • It is only useful on unsafe Pallets, since you dont want to leave safe Pallets as Survivor
    • Because of this, the Killer can counter it by respecting the Pallet, which will lead into a Hit (most likely)
    • It promotes bad gameplay (camping Pallets)
    • Latency will ######### you over
    • And, as a cherry on top, it got released with a Bug (which is not fixed until now) which made Killers ignore Pallet Stuns

And a Perk like this should add variety to the Meta? Like, it is good that there was a new Exhaustion Perk, but if it is way too weak to begin with, nobody will use it.

And this is the case for many Perks which are released. Survivor Perks are only Placeholders to promote more Skins IMO, there is no real incentive to buy any Survivors, as long as you are not a completionist or like the visual design.

  • Survivors did not get a Meta-Perk since years ago. If you want to play Survivor, it is enough to get the Basegame and Halloween-DLC (even if some people think that DS is bad, but if you dont want to use it, there is 0 point in buying any DLCs as Survivor, since the Perks are not good enough). Survivor Perks are mostly just "to have", but nobody needs new Perks as Survivor, because they are all too weak.

Changing Lucky Break is a step in the right direction IMO, I like that BHVR is doing risks with stuff like that. They should do that all the time, buffing a Perk by a good amount and see how it plays out. If it is too strong, they can nerf it again, if it is alright, it is fine, if it is too weak, they might consider buffing it even more. Like, the game will not die if there is a busted Perk for 1 1/2 - 3 months, depending on how much time they want to give it.

Meanwhile, Killers get useful Perks basically every Chapter, since Killers all play different and some Perks are actually useable. This has decreased over time, but up until a few patches ago, usually Killers got one very useful Perk and one situational Perk, while Survivors usually get 3 Perks which are not good at all.

  • Ormond is not even that big:

The Realms are semi-procedural locations within the World of The Entity . Each Realm was the site of a violent tragedy in the past and they now serve as the Arenas for The Entity's trials. 1 Overview 2 Lore 3 Realms & Maps 3.1 The MacMillan Estate 3.2 Autohaven Wreckers 3.3 Coldwind Farm 3.4 Crotus Prenn Asylum 3.5 Haddonfield 3.6 Backwater Swamp 3.7 Léry's Memorial Institute 3.8 Red Forest 3.9 Springwood 3.10 Gideon Meat Plant 3.11 Yamaoka Estate 3.12 Ormond 3.13 Hawkins National Laboratory 3.1

It is slightly above average (156 Tiles, Average is 154 Tiles) and there are Maps in the game which are bigger, but nobody ever complained about those Maps being too big. Like Ironworks or Wretched Shop are bigger, but nobody complained about that.

  • @RenTheCat said:

They need to force teamwork to fix gens. It's extremely stupid that each survivor can pick a gen on each corner of the map and that's it, in 80 seconds they finished the game, they don't even need the last gen because of the hatch.

Make it like, if 3 survivors are in a gen it takes 60 seconds, if it's 2 it takes 90 and if it's just one like 120 or more. If the killer doesn't feel like tryharding and getting 5 hooks on the very first minute of the match, 3 gens are gonna pop by the time he gets his first hook unless the first survivor you find is trash.

The whole thing is even worse in big maps with slow killers.

Sorry to say that, but you seem to be pretty new to the game if you think that Gentimes of 120 seconds per Gen are ok. 80 seconds are fine, the Gen Time does not need to be increased.

Also, on a sitenote, if all Survivors are still alive, you wont get the Hatch with 4 Gens done.

  • There is no date yet. It COULD be live in around 2 weeks. But this is pure speculation, most Patches took 3 weeks to be released after the PTB, the latest one took 4 weeks.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2125798#Comment_2125798

    It's not fine.

It doesn't matter if the pallet is safe versus unsafe. That only applies to mindgames and stand-offs. If i had 32 of these things lying around a map with 4+ to a local tile I wouldn't need to. Good lord, how long would it take to run a killer through 32 predropped pallets? You don't even need to do a mindgame. Even if you dropped four a minute, that's EIGHT FREAKING MINUTES of throwing lumber in this dude's face.

Sorry to say this, if you cannot play unsafe Pallets, you are bad at the game. Unsafe Pallets are fair for both sides - until Bloodlust kicks in.

Ormond Pallets are fine, really. Especially because predropping unsafe Pallets is even bad, because those can be played. You need Stuns at unsafe Pallets against decent Killers. And the Killer does not even have to break unsafe Pallets, so Shift + W into predropping unsafe Pallets does not do anything.

  • Ormond-Pallets are really unsafe. It is fine that there are a lot of them, because most cannot really be played by the Survivor.

If you struggle on new Ormond, thats on you, not the Map.

(And IMO that is how Maps should be. Lots of unsafe Pallets and only a few safe Ones. If Bloodlust would be removed as well, those would be really interactive Maps for Killer and Survivor)

  • I always die inside when I see a Swamp-Map. Also Saloon, I hate it with a passion with both sides.

  • Git gud and stop blaming your losses on SWF.

Really, it would be nice if players would actually accept that they are most likely the reason why they lost and not SWF or any game mechanics.

  • Obviously not. Casual players are the reason why this game is alive, since it is a casual game. If casual gamers would not be a thing, at least 95% of the playerbase (if not more) would have a miserable experience and only the Top 1% or something like that would have a challenging and fun game.

  • Thats RNG.

Otz having so many Iridescent Queens does not mean anything, because Iridescent Queen was a yellow Add On before (one of the Tapes).

  • This is correct. IMO the "highest level of play" is only an excuse to keep stuff like Spirit as she is, because most players will never compete against those "highest level of play"-Survivors. Like, there will be a dozen tournament teams in the whole world. This is not much. The chances to go against one of those are pretty small, going against them multiple times is near to impossible.

Against the usual Red Rank Survivors, every Killer can compete. Like, I played tons of Trickster lately, because I want to prestige him and I am doing fine. Granted, I dont go against tournament Survivors, but this is because those are rare. I have faced a tournament team exactly once (in the middle of the night, 4 AM, the only time I played that late in the night), and it was not even that bad, but I guess they played pretty relaxed. And this is in over 5700 hours of playtime.

So people with 1k hours or less who come to the forum and are saying they verse these kind of Survivors constantly are either lying or overestimating their opponents (and their own skill as Killer). You can win with every Killer in the game, no Killer is too weak for Red Ranks.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244080/daily-reminder-that-the-game-map-has-37-god-pallets

    It’s really not that bad.

I’m not trying to condescend you.

I genuinely feel it’s not that bad.

There are so few safe vaults on Gideon, that once many pallets are gone, the map quickly becomes very dangerous for survivors.

You may not be able to mind game many of them, so just force the pallet drop and get rid of them.

Basically this. I played on The Game a lot, sometimes I even requested the Map for the "Break X Pallets or Generator"-Challenges, and it worked out fine. As long as I am not playing a Killer which I cannot play good enough, I dont struggle on that Map. And if that is the case, this is more likely because I suck with that Killer and not because of the Map.

However, ideally they rework The Game completely. To give it less Pallets and more Vaults, the gameplay is pretty boring for both sides IMO. But at the very least, they could remove the Breakable Walls and some safe Pallets (I still think that those were increased because breakable Walls create Deadends, which make some Pallets unuseable until later in the match).

  • @Dragonshensi said:

Nurse and Spirit are the only ones who can counter and have a chance at high ranks. You want to nerf Spirit? Ok. Well prepare to only face Nurse forever. Instead of asking for nerfs, you need to ask for more buffs for killers. Except those two killers, it’s almost impossible to have a decent match in high ranks.

Every Killer is viable against High Rank Survivors. Against really coordinated groups, probably only Spirit or Nurse, but against the standard you will see at Rank 1, every Killer will perform decent.

And Spirit 100% deserves a Nerf.

  • IMO the only thing which might be questionable is Adrenaline, since you cannot really be sure that you will get any use out of it. But this goes for all games, but especially for Solos.

Other than that, I think especially in Solo Queue you should bring the best stuff possible. And you also need to be way more efficient, you cannot trust random players at all.

  • "Genrush" is the lack of pressure. And no, this is just a made-up thing by Killers who are not as good at the game as they think they are.

You cant expect Survivors to be slower on Gens, there is not really anything they can do when not in Chase.

The only thing I would consider "Genrushing" is if Survivors dont care about anything else except for Gens. If they basically let people die on their first hook to do Gens.

  • @Blueberry said:

It's not busted at all, it's even bad. It's just a meme perk and it doesn't need changes.

If he even gets enough stalk to start instant killing people y'all played terribly. Playing bad doesn't mean an addon needs nerfs.

Realistically against people even remotely decent all the gens will be done before he gets to use it.

The Tombstone Piece does not need that much Stalk. You can easily use it quite early in the game combined with the Memorial.

    @Topic:

I would not mind changing it in a way that it does something completely different. Gameplay above Lore, yes, it is fitting, but it is really busted and outdated.

However, if we want to keep the Insta-Kill, maybe only allow it on fully-stalked Survivors. Those at least fed Michael so much Stalk that he was able to do the Insta-Kill. The most frustrating thing currently is that Michael can get his Evil on any Survivor and the guy who did not see him the whole game will be killed because of a 99ed Tombstone.

  • Just imagine a player who is not a streamer has a friend sitting next to them watching them play.

Those are most TTVs for you.

  • I mean, that should be obvious. Capcom will want to have something unique, like, you should not get Content from the RE8-game for 7 Euros in DBD, this would be stupid of them to do.

Like, if I create a game, I will not sell the most recent content to other games, I keep it unique for a time so that people who want to play this new content will have to buy and play my game.

(Let alone that it works the same in a more negative way - if BHVR does a poor execution of new content, people might not want to buy RE8 if they see it in DBD, Capcom will not want to take a risk here)

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

"In other words, something must be done."

Yeah, it's your job to stop them.

^ this. The Killer should be responsible for slowing down the game. Not any Perks or game mechanics. And every Killer is capable of doing so, every Killer is viable for the vast majority of games.

I really wish people would stop blaming the game when they had a bad match and finally accept that it might be them who messed up.

But the problem is that devs says that it is ok to abuse breakdown, but other killer glitches were bannable and were quickly patched.

I'd never intentionally swing on pallet to avoid stun and did not see people doing this

In all my time playing, I have only seen one Bug being bannable and this was Infinite Mending Legion. For all the other Bugs happening (see @SunaIIanu s Post for examples), no bans were given out.

  • @Zucker_Schock said:

They said something about a reveal at the end of may. Dont forget the PTB, thats probably also what they were talking about with that "reveal".

About the teasers, well we already got a big teaser. I wouldnt expect much from BHVR. Most of the time the teasers dont really give much information either.

The biggest and most anticlimactic reveal is always the PTB, full of bugs and basically nothing changes from the start of the ptb to the release a month later.

Anniversary will be on the 25th and there they also want to reveal the Chapter. I guess, PTB will start at the same day (it is also a Tuesday), they did the same with the Silent Hill-Chapter last year, even tho, RE is not a surprise like Silent Hill was, due to the RE-Showcase.

  • @Seanzu said:

I play dbd a lot and had no idea about this bug until about 3 hours ago when i read another thread about it, people shouldn't be abusing it but you're not doing anyone favours by bringing it up in the forums it's just making users more aware and more likely to use, it's best to file a bug report and hope it's fixed in a timely manner.

    ^ this.

I am thinking this whenever I see a Thread about the Bug. People complaining about it in the wrong section of the Forum are just spreading that this Bugs exist. Like, if you look closely you see three other threads writing about that Bug, there is no need to open a 4th one in General Discussions.

The Devs know about this Bug, it is acknowledged. This is all that can be done so far. Posting about it every few minutes just results in more and more people knowing that this Bug exist. But I refrained to write that, because then I am the "evil Survivor Main" again who is fine with people abusing Bugs.

And I also only know about this Bug because of the Forums. I would have never known about it without those Threads.

    @Topic:

The Bug is acknowledged, we have to wait until it is fixed. Opening Threads really just makes the Bug more public. So far, I have not seen this Bug at all in any of my games, I have seen 0 Breakdowns so far. So either I am the chosen one and someone who is really the exception, OR the Bug is not as prominent as others are making it to be (most likely the latter one).

IMO the Devs may also consider banning about this, I think it can be considered gamebreaking. Not as critical like the Mend-Add Ons, but quite seriously. But thats up to the Devs, opening Threads about it every two hours will not speed up the process at all.

  • @RenTheCat said:

    • People will do this unfair and clearly broken stuff without thinking twice or considering the other side's fun.

    That's survivors for you.

Meanwhile, Killers try to swing a lot currently to not get stunned by Pallets. Also, when Bamboozle was bugged and did not give any visual indication, suddenly so many Killers were running Bamboozle.

Both sides abuse stuff if they have the chance to do so.

Let alone that The Game never was killersided in the first place. Actual Killersided Maps like Shelter Woods on the other hand are as terrible as they always were.

Honestly wonder how small his tr can get since slingers can use both his addons to. So far myers i think has smallest tr at 6 in tier 2. Literally he can facecamp by backing out of lunge range lol.

The Add-Ons reduce by 8 and 4 meters. So in theory, you should be at around 2 meters, but thats probably the same as camping with Insidious, since you will be super-slow when doing that (67,5% Movement Speed while aiming).

  • I bought it, buying every Rift. But I also completed every Rift so far.

And personally, I would have probably paid the 10 Euros for the Oni-Skin alone.

  • Yes, he is viable. However, I feel you have to be good at FPS to make good use of him. Like, I never really played any FPS, so I struggled a lot (and still am struggling) with him. But I have seen some amazing Deathslinger-players, he is scary to go against.

    For Perks, I use:

    BBQ-->for stonks only

    Corrupt Intervention-->Best Slowdown-Perk

Monitor&Abuse-->IMO a No-Brainer on him, he has 24m Terror Radius by default, reducing this to 16m is simply too good.

STBFL-->Just because I can be on 6 Stacks, since you get the Injured State on the Obsession without wasting any Stacks.

What evidence do you have for doubting them going against a Depip Squad at least once in their playtime? Are you assuming that they have low hours or something?

Nope, but those are seriously rare. Yet players claim all the time they go constantly against those really coordinated Squads. Which simply cannot be true.

  • @bm33 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2120017#Comment_2120017

Honestly I'd take the hook suicides over being camped by killers just wanting to prevent glowing survivors getting a crown or survivors bring useless hanging in corner waiting for hatch. Maybe a "survive in match for 2 minutes", would have survivors atleast second guess a hook suicide and stop killers from being able to prevent a glowing survivor from getting a crown.

I doubt that BHVR wants that. There is a reason why they went away from harvesting Nectar on Halloween or why you had to escape with a Lantern to get points during one of the Moonrise-Events.

I mean, I also did not experience that Survivors killed themselves during any event to get their progress faster, and I would take this over getting camped or simply dying due to normal gameplay and getting a crown again. But it seems like BHVR wants to avoid suiciding once players got their event Items.

But either way, I am fine with either being Crowns again this year or something new and getting to keep them even while dying. Either of these would make it way more enjoyable.

Uh, yeah there is a need for that, surv main. I would rather know that I'm going against 3 TTV's that are an obvious depip squad.

I highly doubt that you have gone against a Depip Squad at any point in your playtime. And you will most likely never go against one of those Squads because they are super rare. Only because you lose games does not mean that the other side was a Depip-Squad.

  • @2bitfeller said:

If the names get removed then there needs to be a symbol for who's in swf.

There is no need for that. You also dont get any information if someone is in SWF or not when the profiles are private.

    @Topic:

Yes, should have been the case since long ago. Gameplay-wise there is no reason why the Killer should be able to see names or profiles in the Lobby before the game.

  • @bm33 said:

The camping to prevent survivors from escaping with crown and survivors becoming useless hiding for the match so they could escape was so annoying. If they did it again I would hope survivors would just need to complete match like the killer.

Yeah, but if they just have to finish the match, you would have the risk of Survivors suiciding to get the crowns as fast as possible. This would suck equally.

  • Depends.

If the Team is doing Gens, I agree. But if the team is crouching next to the hook, thinking the Killer will go away after camping for 1 minute and 40 seconds, I think that suiciding against facecampers is more than valid. The Gens are not being worked on anyways and at least I dont have to see them crouching around, waiting for the Killer to leave.

  • Personally, I would be fine with the Crowns returning for the next Anniversary with Crowns for the new released Characters. I dont really want something similar which is not a crown, because it felt quite annoying after a while to collect those Crowns last year. As Killer it was fine, just getting it and you had it.

But as Survivor dying a few times in a row with a Crown was kinda frustrating. So to collect everything from the upcoming Anniversary, I would be happy to have more Crowns to collect, because I dont need to collect everything for every original Character again.

Oh, thats fine. You can think that only 4Ks are a win or open a Gajillion Threads about the BT-Change that does not even change that much.

But this does not change the fact that most of your examples in your opening post are basically just proxy-camping and not some "Skillful Endgame Actions". Like, using Deathslingers 16m-TR (obviously everyone will use M&A on him) to be near the Hook without triggering (current) BT is not really a mastermind-move. It is camping. (And this is just one example)

I am not sure I understand what you are saying.

I am sorry if my topics about BT cause you distress in some way.

You are making the BT-Change a far bigger problem as it is. And personally, I consider it already a loss if I have multiple Survivors alive when the Gens are powered/Gates are open, so I dont really care about BT-escapes at this point.
