Seems pretty fair and balanced - allow me to hold the gate for you, good sir/madam.

Seems like it was buffed just to placate the people complaining about new DS, but it's still not enough to deter actual tunneling.

Even ignoring endgame, it will be easier to farm weaker players for pips/mmr (the weaker player will still be tunneled, particularly if they're down a hook state on the rescuer...unless the rescuer is also injured) due to the guaranteed safe unhooks.

On top of that, it makes SWF stronger than ever.

It's a good thing in theory, but once again, you can't account/change player agency.

In Europe. Between 6 PM and 12 AM GMT even the solo queues are over 10 minutes. SWF can only dream about queues less than 20 minutes. Europe is known to be more sweaty anyway so playing killer against sweat teams almost every match gets tiresome unless of course you have Otz's level of skill. We also get mixed with Russian and Middle Eastern players. I can tell you those matches are almost never fun. I myself stopped playing killer about 5 or 6 months ago and then I stopped playing DBD altogether over 3 months ago. I'm just waiting the game to get better.

I have never experienced Queue Times like this as Survivor in Europe. And in the evening, I mostly play SWF with a friend of mine. Killer on the other hand I sometimes have Queue Times of 10+ minutes, depending on the time of the day.

But nice to hear that I am as good as Otz if I dont have to sweat that much while playing Killer. I knew at some point I will be good at some game at least!

(And honestly, the guys I get in my teams as Survivors, I cannot understand how ANY Killer can struggle against those people. Like, I was onehooked 3 times yesterday. And one time I was almost onehooked, but got saved by my friend - at this point, we had 3 Survivors on Death Hook with 0 Gens done against a Clown... Killer is really difficult /s)

By making it inefficient? As I said, it's bullshit that it's even a thing in game. In what kindof horror movie the characters survive by splitting up? I'm talking about how it's unfair and that survivors come and act like it's not a problem to be able to do 4 gens (80% of the match) in 80 seconds.

The game should reward teamwork, not have slow killers and big maps so you hear 3 gens pop by the time you get your first hook and then, surprise, there was no late game to snowball in because they all escaped through the hatch.

It is not unfair, it is smart. There is a difference. If you dont want to git gud, dont try to change the game that you have your ez 4Ks.

And dont bring up Horror Movies. Otherwise, can we please remove moonwalking? Never seen a Horrormovie where the Killer was walking backwards.

  • Why should it not possible to do that? Like, Survivors are human players as well. And they also have a brain. So how do you want to prevent them from splitting up, if this is the most efficient thing to do?

I primarily take issue with it being both active no matter what for how long it is. It hurts stealth killers a lot and makes exit escapes almost a given as well

It only hurts Stealth Killers if they want to camp. And the change does not really change how it works in Endgame.

And personally, if a Killer has more than 1 Survivor left in Endgame, they already lost. At least I consider it a loss at this point.

Usually when it's not a swf there's always atleast 1 person playing on ps4 too but when they all play on pc they usually are swf plus I know for a fact their on coms cuz there's no way they have everything coordinated that well and have every piece of info

You know that there are more consoles than just PS4 and PC? If you see Crossplay-Survivors, they dont have to play on PC, they can also play on PS5, XBox, Switch... or PC.

Let alone that teabagging is not a SWF-Thing, I can perfectly teabag you while playing Solo.

  • While it would be great to have something which helps players who have difficulties when hearing things, I doubt something will be done anytime soon. We got Colorblind-Mode just recently (after the game was out for almost 5 years) and with hearing, it would also be something that could be a problem for balance, because players without any disability would be able to use it to gain advantages.

There would be a fine line between a useful and needed tool and something which makes it unfair.

Maybe this helps, I have found this some time ago in the Twitch-Description of a Streamer (deafgirl_gaming):

She uses this Headset, because it is able to use vibrations:

Amazon.com: ABKONCORE Shoker Gaming Headset with Noise Canceling Mic - PC Headset with Dynamic Sensory, 7.1 Surround Sound, Soft Memory Foam, RGB Light for PC, Laptop, Mac: Electronics

And she is also using the program breakaway audio:

Copyright © document.write((new Date()).getFullYear()); Claesson Edwards Audio LLC. All Rights Reserved.

"I use a program called breakaway audio, which gives me some sound ability, kind of like having a built in hearing aid. I also use vibration capable headsets to pick up more sounds I cannot hear."

Maybe this can be an option for you, too.

  • I dont think that a 2 Killer-Mode would work. (or most likely 2v8, at least this is the most common thing I read, so I will referr to this mode)

First of all, it would be a hell to balance this. Lore-wise, two times the same Killer would be strange. But you also need to avoid things like Spirit to catch people combined with Bubba to camp those to death, while still being able to apply pressure.

Then, who would play that? Obviously Killers with their friends. But do you think that any Solo Survivor would play this mode? In regular games you already have to worry about 3 people, who wants to play with 7 randoms? I can assure you, I would get a heart attack if I am on the hook and see more than 5 people urban evading around the Map.

So most likely only SWFs (either full 8 or 2 4 mans) would play this mode. And we all know how Killers love to go against SWFs. So I am pretty sure that soon after implementation, nearly nobody except for some Killers and huge SWFs would play this mode. If even those groups are playing it.

  • Someone had a bad game.

  • I dont see any difference between mornings and afternoons when it comes to Survivor quality. Evenings are also mostly fine. It only gets difficult at night, but this is not happening often for me, since I very rarely played in the middle of the night.

  • To avoid this, you have to run No Mither as well. You will be surprised how many Survivors want to heal you then.

It's a bug related to Hex:Undying. Numerous bug reports have been made already.

It doesn't always happen so fixing it might be hard for the devs. Here are a few examples that happened to me.

The corn one, despite being in the most obvious spot and seeing survivors running there left and right it never got cleansed

I noticed Hex-Totems like this but did not know it was caused by Undying. I have stared at a Hex-Totem directly and did not see that it was lit, I only noticed it later when I heard that it was lit.

Hopefully it gets fixed soonish, I am fine with Hex-Totems being less noticeable, but that is a little bit too much, lol.

  • As others have said, the main reason is to remove mashing Spacebar (or the respective button on a controller). However, I agree, there should be a suicide option.

Two times already on PTB that the guy who got unhooked just ran to the Killer to get killed ASAP. Yes, it is PTB, but this will also happen on the Live Servers. Someone who wants to suicide will not play normally when getting unhooked.

It's the second time this week i see this thread man people are boring

Exactly. Yes, the Devs look at Stats. But, the Nurse Nerf shows that they are not only looking at stats, at least this one time.

(Same like people claiming that "being overused" is the sole reason why Perks get nerfed. If that would be the case, we would have had Nerfs to BBQ already, lol)

  • Nope. Most likely you are focussing more on it when a TTV is hooked.

But Streamers, for the most part, are just regular players when it comes to their Skill. Especially TTVs most likely only stream for like 1-5 viewers (which is a reason why they are advertising their stream by using "TTV" in their name), so they are pretty close to regular players.

  • This Bait was not funny the first time someone brought it. Doing it the 50th time does not make it more funny.

I mean half the characters' names are censored, and you can't even say 'the pope' lmao

Meanwhile, writing insults with spaces in between the letters seems to work for some things, best Chat Filter 11/10, would like to get insulted again.

(Not saying that now everyone should try to avoid the Chat Filter, but it is just laughable that it triggers on harmless words or Killer Names, but does not trigger when people are actively trying to avoid the Filter...)

  • Because the Chat Filter does not make sense in a game like DBD. Usually, something like "Kill him" can easily be censored, but it does not make sense to censor it in a game, where one side is killing people from the other side.

  • The Glyph-Challenges are the worst so far IMO. They are boring and take time. Like, finding 5 Glyphs is basically "play at least 5 games". It cannot be more boring than that.

I saw that however if we don't say anything about it they will think its fine and actually think that it is going to solve the problem with keys

Pretty sure the Devs already know what they want to do with Keys.

Changing it to 10 seconds instead of 30 seconds is already an improvement which can be done quite easily - it requires all Survivors to be at the Hatch to actually escape and it helps that the Killer is not forced to close the Hatch. So for the start, it is a good change.

  • Did you not read the next line on purpose?

"Please note that this is not the final change keys will be receiving. We’ll share more info on the future of keys as soon as we can."

Basement hag with the iridescent was basically death since she could tp even if a trap wasnt triggered.

Yes, this anyway. But in general, a Hag with Mint Rag and Rusty Shackles is a pain to go against, lol.

But even without that, you either have the choice to run out of the Basement (and trigger her Traps) or crouch and let her come back. With the BT-Change, at least there is an option to run out of the Basement, triggering the Traps. The Hag will still be able to do something, but she will not get a guaranteed down again.

  • @Bwsted said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2103867#Comment_2103867

It matters because high mobility killers would work around a distance condition. The TR is already a pseudo-distance condition for them.

If you're on the other side of the map and can't immediately make it back, it doesn't matter if it procs. You're not camping and you're not gonna get hit by it. On the other hand, if you can show up at the hook in no time even if the unhook was safe formally, then you should be subject to a BT proc.

Another prime example would be Hag - she can camp Hooks from a distance. If someone is hooked in the Basement, they are basically dead, because either a Trap is triggered or the Hag comes back. With the change to BT, you can actually get people out of the Basement against Hag. She will get a Hit in and maybe a down, but it is not guaranteed that the person who was on the Hook will be down again.

I would be more interested in getting to know what happened to additional prestige rewards, which was mentioned in the 4th anniversary stream, I think?

As someone who prestiged every single Character, yes, I would like to hear something about that as well. And I also hope that it is not only something which helps people to prestige, like keeping Perks or something like that.

But I am pretty sure it will be something minor. In the end it could just be a Charm.

  • Not added so far. They should be a thing when MMR is active to give Rank some purpose.

I dont know why they are not implementing it already, while Ranks are used for Matchmaking it would be nice to get something for actually reaching Rank 1.

  • As Survivor: All 75% and above (except for Survival).

As Killer: If I have BBQ at Tier 3, all 75% and above. If I dont have it at Tier 3, I just burn the 100% Offerings (so BPS or Puddings), because I can better play a Killer where I have BBQ at Tier 3.

"Exhaustion addons should be removed" - People who need exhaustion to play survivor. Perhaps try learning to loop without crutching on your exhaustion. If I can do it, so can you.

By that logic, totem perks should be permanent. Because you don't even need an addon/item to destroy those. And THOSE go away permanently.

Come on, you cannot deny that those Add Ons are heavily outdated.

  • @Haddix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2102412#Comment_2102412

yeah I don't really get the mass amount of hate against exhaustion addons

It really sucks to go against a huntress with them when I'm running deadhard, but she's using an addon slot for it, and it's not like dead hard is basekit. I can play without it. I just have to play well.

The only thing that makes it kinda gross is when I know I'm about to get hit behind a wall and need to Dead Hard for it, but eh. Overall, I think exhaustion addons with a timer of about 10-15 seconds would be fine honestly.

An Add On should not disable Perks. Like, those are 3k BPs, yes, she is using an Add On-Slot, but this is way too cheap for such a strong effect.

Exhaustion Add Ons are outdated. And it is good that they get rid of them. They were introduced in a time where Exhaustion recovered while running, this is not the case anymore and so an Add On for 3k BPs is simply too strong when it gives Exhaustion.

I mean, just imagine this: Old Ruin (Hex-Skill Checks which make the Gen regress when not hitting the Great Skill Check) with the new Instructions (no Skill Checks while using a Toolbox). Sounds not right to negate a Perk with a 3k BP-Add On? Yes, it does not sound right. And this is why Exhaustion Add-Ons are outdated and should be removed.

I think its permanent immunity until you've gotten hit. But you have 30 seconds before getting hit will put you in dream. That was my understanding anyway

Nah, you are immune to get back to sleep for 30 seconds. This means that you will at least have 30 seconds of being awake guaranteed, which makes the Clocks more worth to get. Nothing is more annoying than running full map to get a clock, just to put asleep by a Hit 10 seconds later.

I don't know what I'm going to do if rat liver jumps a few tiers of rarity. Don't they dare.

Yeah, same here. But I doubt that, for now. But I would be fine with Rat Liver not being Basekit when there are more Add Ons to actually be useable. Because currently, everything above yellow is basically a waste of BPs for him.

  • @Profezia said:

No rat liver basekit for demo, meh, still one addon slot for him.

Yeah, this was the one changed I hoped for as well. But I need to see the complete Add On-Pass, maybe at least there is more variety for the remaining Add On-Slot, because currently, all of the Add Ons are "meh", aside from Rat Liver.

    @Adjatha said:

The ONE change I didn't want to see was "move speed lowered while placing traps." Reducing number of traps and entirely removing the slowdown addons were not unexpected, but slowing way down to use your stupid power feels so BAD on Pyramid Head, Myers, Wraith, Plauge and they've done it here too. That's awful. Wildly over-reaching nerf

Its fine. Makes reverse-bloodlusting aka Snare-Spamming less effective. Reducing the number of Snares would have done exactly nothing, because they are replaced anyway.

Console’s can’t change brightness setting and are stuck with default settings. PC gets an advantage in this regard

This is correct. And IMO it should not be possible to make the game brighter by playing on low Settings in the first place. Settings should not give an ingame advantage.

Maybe it just me or my tv but is it really that dark? I have no problem seeing on the map.

Sometimes Maps look darker for some people. Like, for me, Brightness is always fine, IMO the Maps are too bright already. I am perfectly able to see everything. In fact, I find Blendettes funny, because I can see them while they think they are invisible.

However, when I see videos or Streams, I notice that some people have really dark Maps. And it is not because of Settings, currently I have to play on Medium because of my graphics card and the game is around the same brightness as it was on Ultra, what I had before. Only on low the game is brighter by default.

  • @Yords said:

So you are telling me that they made the corn even thicker?

Shouldnt be a problem, youn will spot Survivors full Map away with that brightness (when on a higher position).

  • @ukenicky said:

Actually I find it odd it gives you a boost to healing slugs yet not a token for picking up a dying survivor. That could and should generate a token imo

Yes. At the very least, this should grant a Token. The thing is, there should be more ways to generate Tokens.

As OP has said, BBQ is simply playing the game. For WGLF, you have to rush for Unhooks or take unneccessary Protection Hits. And regarding Unhooks, you compete with 2 other Survivors at this point for them.

And yes, there are Flashlight- and Pallet-Saves, but those are really rare.

At the very least, healing someone up from the Dying State should grant a Token (because of the synergy with the ohter effect). Maybe full Health States (16 charges) should grant Tokens as well.

  • Context:

    https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1381623249558249476

IMO way too bright, really. Like, this is something I would expect in a walking simulator.

I mean....a map offering or ward will do it; but other than that spine chill is about it.

Jump Scare myers is actually kinda strong on certain indoor maps; it's absolute hot garbage on any other map.

I don't know why you would ever want to counter it though; it's probably one of the few rare enjoyable things to happen in DBD.

"I don't know why you would ever want to counter it though; it's probably one of the few rare enjoyable things to happen in DBD."

I agree, as long as the Myers is not just camping. Sadly a good bunch of them are doing it like "I have 0 TR, so I camp". It is not enjoyable by default, Mirror Myers can be very fun to go against, but depends how they are playing.

    @Topic:

You need to be aware. This is the first thing, need to be aware were he might be. Also, listen, Myers is breathing very loud, so you might even hear him.

What is important is, when he hits you, get as much distance as possible. Mirror-Myers is super-slow (4,2 m/s, just 5% faster than Survivors) so you can basically loop him around every Pallet, because he has a short lunge as well. Like, some Pallets which are weak can become a problem for Mirror-Myers.

Being aware and keeping in mind that he is loopable are also two things when it comes to healing - dont heal in some Corner, heal somewhere where a Pallet is nearby and where you have a good view in every direciton. E.g. on Midwich, you can be in those long Rooms where a Pallet is in the center, if you are able to see both doors, it should be fine to heal. But if you heal somewhere without any Pallets nearby or when you cannot see in certain directions, he might just pop up from there and get you.

  • Serious question, did you ever open a Thread where you were not complaining? I read this all the time. And you never, ever ask for advice or anything, you just want to complain.

Like, you struggle with the game. This is quite obvious when you have to complain that much. Why not provide gameplay footage so that people can actually HELP? Or do you really just want to hear the hivemind and echo chamber aka the Forum Killers?

  • @lostboy said:

I used to stream. Had usually 1-2 viewers at any given time. One time I won a game against another very popular Spanish streamer which resulted in 80+ viewers coming into the stream all sharing insulting comments on looks, play style etc. Blurring out names or changing the name I think is a good healthy step.

I hope you contacted said Streamer about this. Most Streamers I know (from viewing, not personally), really dont like if some of their viewers go on a Witchhunt in another Stream and usually, those viewers will be banned from said Streamers Livestream.

    @Topic:

I think it is nonsense to even waste a thought about compensation or that your game might be livestreamed. Like, who cares? At worst, you get called dumb on a Stream. Most Streamers I go against have 5 viewers at max. And you want compensation because one Streamer, his second account, his grandma and his best friend are seeing how you are in the same game as the Streamer?

Same like notifying and asking for permission... Really, the DBD-Community is the most sensitive community I have ever seen in my entire life. "OH no, he is streaming! Everyone will see me :(((", really it is whatever. At worst, you get called dumb or something by the Streamer or their viewers, but who cares about that? (Aside from cases where smaller streamers get harassed by larger communities, but as I stated above, usually the larger Streamers are totally against this)

If anything, BHVR might include a note in their EULA that your game might be livestreamed and that you are giving permission to do so when accepting the EULA. This is the most what will ever happen.

Other than that, really, dont care about Streamers. Especially not about those with only a handful of viewers. Those are just normal players who like to show their gameplay, nothing more.

Yeah they nerfed DS so it won’t be abused now. So now it’s no longer free second chance perk. That’s why there is no reason not running it.

It is still a second-chance Perk.

  • And? What do you want to discuss when you dont want to make a statement and just throw in a Link?

  • I dont think that an escape should ever be a Depip. Even without just focussing on Gens, it can happen if the Killer is AFK or if the Killer overcommits to one Survivor and/or facecamps them afterwards.

Same like a 4K should never be a Depip (from my experience this happens only when using both Pink Add Ons as Michael and killing everyone, but if there are more cases, even more reason to not have this be a depip).

  • Doing it with Blood Echo is indeed really hard. I did it with Freddy and the brown Block Add-On. Done in one game.

I agree this change was killer sided, I just wanna talk about your edit.

If we go about everything that makes a survivor DC, the list would be huge. 3 gen strats, nurse (a balanced killer, and I will discuss this at length) and suiciding for hatch (a stupid thing that shouldn't have been there in the first place, that person has lost they shouldn't then get a win because that survivor loses nothing. If you want suicides on hook to be available, there needs to be a punishment because that survivor loses nothing by suiciding, the killer loses: 600 bp for the hits, 500 for the hook ,another 1500 for the extra kill and 2500 for the no escapes bonus. Meaning the killer loses 5100 bp, whilst the survivor loses at max 899 survival bp. And the other survivor gains 5k for escaping and 2k in objectives on top of this), all these things arent meant to be there, the hatch is balanced around it being a 1v1 with both sides having equal opportunity (killer having the time of 2nd hook that they have gotten). A few more unnecessary things like doctor will be changed.

That logic on its own shows your bias.

I would not say that I want hook suicides. But I think the only way to minimize them is to remove or nerf those things which are clearly unbalanced. And as I said, you will never get rid of people DCing or suiciding, because some people just DC/suicide when they are the first downed, if they think they are sandbagged, if not enough Gens have been done, etc.

(That the Hatch is a 1v1 with equal chances - with one party being faster AND without any need to hide... I doubt it)

And well, as stated, the current steps for making getting out of a game harder for Survivors just benefit the Killer. And you cannot really deny that, it does not help the Survivors at all that they can unhook someone. I know from my own experience that this game can be even more unfun if you unhook the wrong person. From constant sandbagging via Bodyblocking or throwing down every Pallet on the Map, I have seen probably everything.

And I honestly dont care anymore for other Survivors suiciding, neither when I am Killer nor when I am Survivor. As Killer I will play more nice, but thats about it. As Survivor, I simply dont care, I play in a 2 man SWF at max, so I dont have control over at least two people who might suicide or DC at any time. If that happens, the game is most likely lost, but why even bother? Bothering about it will not change the fact that those people exist.

Catering to Killers to give them a better chance for the Hatch or more points for their BBQ-Stacks will not change the Survivor experience.

No, it doesn't sound right that you use suboptimal builds and playstyles and seem to believe that is worth bragging about. Seems weird.

It would take about 2 weeks to get a good impression of how often ds is actually being used. After that? Tunnel city. In the meantime every survivor perk that creates an obsession would be nerfed by the change, and the overall use of ds would plummet.

Nah, it is just not right that I am better off without using Perks which greatly benefit a Killer (e.g. STBFL on Demo), because then I would know when to tunnel and when not.

And as I said, the Obsession would at least give a risk to the Killer. If they want to tunnel and see that the person does not have DS, they at least took a risk before. But now they can just tunnel freely without an Obsession.

(I mean, let alone that DS does not do anything against tunneling)

    @Aven_Fallen

I was thinking the same thing 😂

Maybe if the devs would actually invest in giving survivors options outside of a perk that doesn’t even deter killers from tunneling, we wouldn’t see that many people doing it.

I’ve literally had killers say this to me in post chat after making sure they tunneled me out “Nice DS you got there” because it literally doesn’t do anything impactful to really make them not want to eat it.

    Exactly.

I mean, I was for an Obsession in every game before the Nerf, but now there is no reason to not have an Obsession in every game. Before I can understand that the person doing the Gen might have DS active. But now, if there is an Obsession, the Killer either really tunnels, the Survivor did not do anything during those 60 seconds, or they dont have DS anymore because they healed someone/did a Totem/worked on a Gen/whatever.

Currently some of my Killer Builds are even suboptimal, because I am using STBFL and create an Obsession myself. I would be far more efficient if I would not use Obsession Perks and just tunnel the first Survivor out of the game, which is stronger than any Perk. And this does not sound right.

I don’t know why it is hated, i could think of at least 2-3 games every day where I’d die without it but survive instead because I’ll be able to heal in a critical situation.

Btw, Botany Knowledge provides a bigger boost to healing, but Resilience boosts your vaulting speed too. Honestly try one then the other then both and see what’s best for you.

Self Care on its own is a great Perk. The problem are some people using Self Care. There have been situations where I would have been happy to have it, but I am not running Self Care. There is also nothing wrong with healing yourself when it is smart.

The people who heal themselves against Sloppy Butcher in a corner while two people are on the hook are those who give Self Care a bad reputation. And those are not rare at all.
