  • Despite knowing, who is opening the Thread, I try. I know, I will not convince OP, this is an hopeless task, but luckily there are also other and more normal people in this Forum:

Ingame Voice Comms are a terrible idea. Several reasons.

First: Discord exists-->Ingame Voice Comms would need to be able to be disabled, this should be clear. However, why should anyone use them when there is already Discord, which is an almost perfect programm for communication? So, if I am playing Solo and I am with a 3 man SWF, why should they include me in my communication? They will probably still do fine, but I am the one getting screwed, because they have their own comms (which does not make it necessary to have ingame Comms), and since the game is balanced around SWFs, the Solo will suffer in this case.

Second: Language Barrier-->Not everyone speaks the same language. I have experience with events on international level, so I know how it feels when you talk to people who will not understand you and when you need a translator. However, the possibility of getting a translator is not possible in DBD. And not everyone speaks english - like, I am German, I can speak English. What if I play with some Italians or French, and they dont know English or they dont want to talk it? Then we all are screwed, yay.

This might work for the US where English is the main language, but this will not work for EU. Like, I guess 2/3 of my games have Russian players in it, and often enough, the first thing I see them typing is Russian. This indicates for me that they might not speak English, so ingame comms would do nothing for them or their teammates, who dont understand Russian.

Third: Social Barrier-->I know some of those players and I know what they are typing in the Endgame Chat - you dont want to talk to them. The DBD-Community is really immature and not everyone likes to be insulted by 14yo with 5 Euro-microphones.

And last but not least: Immersion-->Even if all of this above would be solved (everyone using ingame comms, everyone speaking the same language, everyone being mature and friendly), there are still people who just dont want to communicate with everyone. Who want to have an immersive experience in the game without talking to anyone, just hearing Chase Music or Terror Radius while playing. And you also need to keep in mind those players, they would have a really bad experience when the game is balanced around SWFs. And no it is not "their fault" for not participating in ingame comms, they should not be forced to do that.

Since I know that not everyone will read as much (especially OP):

    tl, dr:

Ingame Comms suck because of already existing programs (which remove the need to use the ingame comms), Language Barriers, the "amazing" DBD-Community and Immersion.

SWF is not that big of a deal, people should stop blaming all their losses on SWF (especially if they try to mindgame safe Pallets on The Game or lose Survivors right in the open, because they are THAT bad at tracking...Both things which also happen when facing Solos).

What are the infinite loops? I'd genuinely like to know

Killers like to pretend that Infinites are back, when they can just break the Breakable Wall and make the Loop weak.

It's not that killers are mad abaut changing the meta, but just the fact that new overpowered perks REPLACE survivor meta. 90 second lucky break was hilariously broken perk. Can you imagine if something like brutal strength got buffed to 80% pallet breaking speed, it would change killer meta and also be extremely overpowered.

Again, you can hard-counter Iron Will/Lucky Break with Stridor. And if this Perk Combo is prominent, you can negate Perk Slots from multiple Survivors each game.

But, does not matter anymore now, the Perk is trash again, so nobody needs to worry that anyone will be using Lucky Break.

  • Nobody will use the Perk now. So, the change does exactly nothing, except making it worse for people who have already used it (like those two players worldwide).

  • @SunderMun said:

It's a joke, honestly. If they're too scared to make a useless perk viable, they shouldn't bother changing it at all.

Legit all they had to do was make it permanently remove all blood at tier 3 and it would be sorted, but instead they went with this questionable rework idea that led to it being overall even worse than before.

Have to agree on that one. They had the chance to buff a really weak Perk and maybe create a new Metaperk, but they got scared and nerfed it before it went live.

With that, they should have not bothered at all and they would have had no stress or discussions with the changes.

  • To the different Tome Levels. It is not a flat 10 Rift Fragments (aka 1 Rift Tier), but will be higher for each Level of the Tome.

  • I think reducing it to 45 seconds will result in the Perk not being used. So, the Survivor Meta will 100% not change (even before I was not sure if it will really change, but with 45 seconds, it will definitely not change).

  • With this, the Killer at least has to take a risk when they want to tunnel. This can pay off and they know that this Survivor does not have DS or they can get hit with DS. And they have to guess 4 times, if they want to tunnel everyone.

Without any Obsession, it is just a free information to tunnel, without having to fear any consequences.

  • Yes, the Tombstone Piece could get some Nerf. Tombstone is more fair, it has another Drawback and needs more Stalk than the Tombstone Piece. And honestly, I only see the Tombstone (pink) when people are trying to get the Achievement to kill all Survivors with EW3.

Regarding Rat Liver - the Add On got nerfed, but Demos base Shred got buffed. So overall, if you use Rat Liver, you wont feel any difference. (except that you are using at 100% instead of 101%, but I doubt that you can seriously call that a Nerf)

  • Not everyone is the same. Like, I could not care less about anything from the characters, I am not identifying myself with any Character, so for me, it is not important at all, I will play them, if I like the gameplay.

However, other people might want to play a character which is similar to them in some aspects. This does not mean that it is important for everyone that the Character is male or female, if the Character belongs to any ethnicity or if they are LGBTQ+ or not, however, there are people who would like representation in the game.

Gameplay-wise it will not change much, it is "just" the Lore.

  • Nothing announced yet.

  • I swear, Killers are just hypocrites. They complain about the Survivor-Meta being stale ("Every Survivor uses the same Perks!"), then another Perk might be Meta, but this is also not alright.

Just say that you want Survivors to have only weak Perks when you are against buffing Perks to become Meta.

Let alone that if you really have problems with Tracking against Lucky Break/Iron Will, equipping Stridor will counter both Perks (since Iron Will gets countered and with Sounds, it does not matter if Lucky Break hides anything). Two Perkslots negated for one Perk Slot sounds pretty good.

  • Should be kept in. At least other players can only spam Ready for 5 seconds then.

  • Yes, played a game on Ormond and the chest next to the yellow vehicle just opened when I was sprinting there with my Billy. No Survivor nearby.

  • Most of the time you will not be able to use it, but if you can use it, it might be a gamechanger.

Personally, I am not a big fan of Unbreakable, but it is a really good Perk.

  • Meanwhile you are complaining about Survivors doing their Objective.

    I love that irony.

  • The big problem with the cages is that PH does not have much control over it. Like, you can estimate where the Cage will spawn, you might even know if Survivors would be nearby.

While teleporting the Survivor to a random Hook would fix camping, it would also remove a lot of Control from the Killer, like hooking the Survivor in an area without Gens or without Pallets is an advantage, but with that idea, it might happen that the Survivor spawns right next to another Survivor, which drastically reduces the Map Pressure gained by the Hook (aka forcing Survivors into altruistic actions).

I think spirit is only overpowered on rank 20 or in the rank 1 with boosted solo teammates nurse is a lot stronger than spirit becuse you can end chases in like 10 seconds even if survivor isn't stupid .You can ofc end chases so quickly with the spirit but the survivor needs to do a lot of mistakes ,which obviously good survivors wont do them very often. Most of the games i play against spirit are 2k or 4 man escape becuse she is focused to much on the one survivor and other survivors can pressure gens really really fast

Of course Nurse is stronger. But why should anyone invest time in learning her, when you can do far less, "learn" Spirit and be almost as good as Nurse?

Ever play spirit against good survivors with iron will and no stridor?

as long as both perks exist, a killer that can't see and is all about sound IS forced to use it.

I look forward to your rebuttal that proves me wrong with facts.

Yes. Not that hard. Even tho, this is mainly because Spirit is stupid strong, not because I am good.

    @Topic:

If you have problem with Tracking, you can use Stridor, this will counter Iron Will and Lucky Break will be mainly useless, if you can still hear the Survivor via sounds.

1 Perk Slot to counter 2 Perks from the Survivor sounds like a good deal.

  • DS never was an Anti-Tunnel Perk, because it does nothing against tunneling. It buys some time, but thats it, if a Killer wants to tunnel, they wont care about DS.

And especially the strong Killers can basically ignore it, because they can catch up in no time.

But hey, you use the word "toxic" and that people "abuse" things which are IN THE GAME to be used...

I actually like the chest bug as both survivor and killer so I kinda hope it becomes a permanent feature(Minus the increased amount of keys being found).

Also as for others talking about the pallet stun glitch: I really haven't noticed as either survivor nor killer that it has effected out many times I or killers I have been facing have been hits through pallets.

It just means the killer breaks the pallet slightly faster or switches targets slightly faster which mind you is still a bugged advantage but how much it effects games is being overblown.

Remember a pallet stun isn't instant so there is a window for them to hit you if you mistime your throw.

The thing is, at unsafe Pallets, you need the stun to get distance. Not getting the stun means that you will get hit at the Pallet, same like a Killer respecting it, except that they can just swing at it and either get the Hit OR at least dont get the stun, which will result in the hit afterwards.

Let alone that the Pallet can also be dropped and the Killer can still get a Hit and not even a stun.

I agree with the Chests, tho. I am not as lucky with them anymore (like, for me, they are fixed, best thing I got was a green Flashlight yesterday and all the Keys I got were green Keys), but having higher rarity Items to make Chests worth to search would be nice (except for the Keys).

Not true, you can now get hit through pallets that have already been dropped.

Yep. Happened 3 times during the last two days, was fun. Even more fun that this Wraith who hit me through a dropped Pallet was nodding his head. Made me even more mad than the Hit through the dropped Pallet, like if you get an undeserved hit, dont be cocky about it.

Hopefully this is fixed in the upcoming Midchapter-Patch.

Neither Outlast nor Amnesia were anywhere near good enough to be put on a pedestal next to Silent Hill and RE. Both were good games, but they didn't become the foundation for horror games. Fatal Frame is the last of the holy horror trinity, and there's no way in hell that DBD should get to piggyback off yet another IP since they suck at original concepts

While I agree that neither Outlast nor Amnesia are really compareable to Resident Evil or Silent Hill, Amnesia was the pioneer for a bunch of Survival Horror Games (including Outlast) where the Main Character is helpless against monsters and enemies. At least this is the earliest popular game I can think of with this concept. (Technically, Penumbra Black Plague, also from Frictional Games (and a really good game) was before Amnesia, but it was not really popular)

  • Funny that you ask this, while having access to a Perk (which you are even using) which counters Iron Will 100%.

  • Thats not really something that should be a question. Regression is 1/4 of Progression, this is already known.

His points still make a lot of sense though. I still play billy and enjoy him but his overheat needs some tuning

He is honestly just repeating what was said when Billy got nerfed. I mean, I could care less, for me, they can remove the Overheat, I dont have any problem with it either way, the onyl time I overheated since the Nerf was, when I got matched against Rank 20s during the very first MMR-Test (which was quite common for Billy, Tofu had the same problem) and just went for long-range Chainsaws with the Steering Add Ons, trying to snipe people from across the Map.

Other than that, as long as you dont try for every Chainsaw, even if they are impossible to land, you wont overheat.

  • Yay, Scott is becoming a Forum Killer.

  • Honestly, the last 5 Keys I found were only green Keys. And other than that, I mainly find brown Items. So at least for my games, this is fixed, lol.

  • I agree to @Kebek , DS should focus more on its Anti-Tunneling-Aspect.

I still use DS and I get it to use, because Killers dont respect it anymore. Like, yesterday I had a Huntress, she was hit by 3 DS (myself, my SWF-Mate and a random Survivor), because she tried to tunnel each of us. I only got hit by it once since the Rework, must be something like 55 seconds after the Unhook, but this also meant that this Survivor did nothing to keep their DS.

But, as said, a strong Killer like Spirit or Nurse will not care about DS at all, they are at the Survivor right away. And in general, if a Killer wants to tunnel, they will do it and DS will not prevent it. So removing all tracking tools for 10 seconds should allow hte Survivor to actually gain distance, so even a Spirit or Nurse would need to locate the Survivor.

I also think we are currently at the point were more people are starting to use DS again, at least I see an Obsession in around 30% of my games as Killer, right after the Nerf, it was like 1 out of 10 games with an Obsession.

  • I have played quite a bunch of games on The Game and it is my go-to Map for "Break X amount of Pallets"-Challenges (alongside Hawkins) and I dont think it is that bad.

IMO they should (like 100%) remove the Breakable Walls on this Map, because sometimes navigating is a pain on this Map and probably remove some of the Pallets, which should compensate for the Deadends caused by Breakable Walls.

Like, I had breakable Walls which forced me to go upstairs to get pass them and another time, the room under the big drop was completely shut down except for one entrance, the Bubba we faced had it really easy to get downs there, when someone unhooked, since there was only one way out.

But even in its current state, it is alright. Not the most exciting Map to play on and it never was a really good map gameplay-wise. However, it is not as bad as some people claim. The only Killers struggled with on this Map were Nurse and Trapper. Nurse was entirely on me, because I suck with her and Trapper was not good on The Game before, since you cannot really hide his Traps, so both are unrelated to the Rework.

  • "I can easily admit that All-Seeing Blood (which imo is much stronger than All-Seeing Spirit) and Coxcombed clapper need looked at now. Especially when paired with the right builds, or The Ghost (which is stupidly powerful for a brown add-on). Same with Bone being only Yellow. I also think he may need a general add-on pass as a lot of his add-ons are just bad when compared to others, which forces uses of the stronger ones."

Maybe this is the case while some people complain about Wraith now. I have not had that much of a problem so far with Wraith, but I have not seen that many since his Buff.

However, if we consider that he does not need Windstorm anymore (which was basically set before the Buff), he can use some other of his really strong Add Ons. And having the silent Bell and purple All-Seeing might be too much, who knows. At least I can understand that people complain about that, if they face a lot of Wraiths using those Add Ons combined, because they can do this now, since no Add On-Slot is needed for Windstorm anymore.

But I dont think that they need to be looked at just now. MAYBE in the future, but not anytime soon.

I don't recall OP ever implying they wanted an easy game. Could you fill me in on this?

Ruin/Undying on Nurse (especially a good Nurse, what I would assume is the case with OP) is basically "wanting an easy game".

    @Topic:

As others have said, MMR is not active. Either the Matchmaking had a hickup (which would explain the Rank 17, they probably waited a very long time already for a game, so they got into your game) or it was a full SWF.

  • I dont care about Survivors escaping that way. If they only escape because of a Key, it is not my fault that they escaped, so I am not upset about it. It is not like I could have done anything better at this point.

I would not count it as a win either as Survivor, because they did not finish their Objective, but if they want to see escape = win, totally fine with that one. In the end, the game does not really tell us what is considered a win.

  • "ds in egc is basically a free ticket to play as dumb as you want, you can run in and get hard read by a rank 20 killer and THEY get punished for grabbing you, survivors can play as dumb as they want without consequence, its dumb and i definetly think they need to do something to ds during the egc, but since its bhvr and it took them 4 years just to nerf ds, tell me any ways to counter ds"

What makes you say that the Survivor got "hard read" by the Killer? Like, I go down like a Rank 20 Survivor if I have DS active and want to use it. And I dont think that the Killer outplayed me, when I go down near a Pallet without using my Dead Hard, which the Killer knows I have, so that he can pick me up and get stunned by DS. It is the other way around.

  • Several reasons:

    • smaller (which I would say is not the main reason, I would guess, otherwise we would not see so many colorful cosmetics used)
    • free, so people are most likely starting with one of those Characters
    • better Cosmetics than male Survivors, at least in my opinion, females get more cosmetics and prettier ones, so you have a larger variety and more chance to be unique with your looks
    • Old Characters, players who are playing for a longer period of time will most likely play those characters for a while and they are less likely to main another Character, because they would need to get all Perks again.

It's funny how things change when the community gets better at using something.

Nah, the real reason is, because other things got nerfed. I remember when they nerfed DS and added the Unhook-Requirement, the Forums were filled with Threads to nerf Adrenaline (a Perk nobody talks about nowadays), because Killers instantly went for the next Perk, after one was nerfed.

DH is basically the same, at some point, the Devs will maybe even nerf it (to please the loud Killer playerbase..), and what then? The Killers will go for Sprint Burst, because it will be really annoying to go to a Gen with a Survivor sitting there, getting close and they still get distance, despite sitting on the Gen as long as possible. (Which is IMO more annoying than a DH for distance, because they ACTUALLY get distance...)

EDIT: And lets not forget that Killers are the ones who are complaining that "every Survivor uses the same Perks", while they want to nerf those Perks constantly (nerfing DH will just let the majority of people who use DH today switch to Sprint Burst, which will be less variety and another Exhaustion Perk used) and are against buffing other Perks (Lucky Break)... Does not really work out to have the opinion that there is not enough variety, but on the same time, this variety should be even less or should not increase.

Yeah it isn't too bad anymore my only gripe with it is the size. If you arent running a killer with mobility/you don't run slowdown it doesnt really matter how good your chases are since you have to speed so long to just get to the other gens.

The Realms are semi-procedural locations within the World of The Entity . Each Realm was the site of a violent tragedy in the past and they now serve as the Arenas for The Entity's trials. 1 Overview 2 Lore 3 Realms & Maps 3.1 The MacMillan Estate 3.2 Autohaven Wreckers 3.3 Coldwind Farm 3.4 Crotus Prenn Asylum 3.5 Haddonfield 3.6 Backwater Swamp 3.7 Léry's Memorial Institute 3.8 Red Forest 3.9 Springwood 3.10 Gideon Meat Plant 3.11 Yamaoka Estate 3.12 Ormond 3.13 Hawkins National Laboratory 3.1

Ormond is slightly above average with its size. Average is 154 Tiles, Ormond has 156 Tiles. And it is smaller than Maps like Ironworks, Gas Heaven, Torment Creek and many others. But I have never seen complaints about one of those being too big.

  • The Characters will look roughly the same, the Reworks are not aimed to really alter their appearance. So there should not be any problem with reworking the faces of licensed Characters, but they will not look that different from their current state. Like, Quentin will not look more or less than Kyle Gallner than he currently does.

  • Edgy.

Ormond is fine tho, you should have no problem playing on Ormond. Since the Rework, the Map is alright for Killer.

  • Nobody would play 2v8-modes after a while. Why should you play it, aside from KYF-Matches?

Killers might want to play it, because they can play together with their friends. But Survivors will most likely only play it as SWFs. Like, Solo is already a mess, I cannot imagine to play with 7 randoms who urban evade around the Map while I am on the Hook.

And we all know how much Killers would like to go against 2 4 man SWFs or one 8 man SWF.

Let alone that it would be a pain in the ass to balance this Gamemode... They should rather focus on their one 4v1-Mode they currently have and dont open any more gamemodes which would need work.

  • Yeah, you should report her ingame and also write a Support Ticket and add the VOD as proof.

This is a bannable offense. Will most likely not help in that specific game, but maybe will get her banned.

That argument is nonsense as Stridor and Iron Will were in the game, and had those interactions, long before Spirit was even an idea.

    This was sarcasm.

In fact, Stridor is only a thing because they removed Collision from Spirit when she was phasing. When she still had collision, the Killer did not even need Stridor, because they can simply bump into the Survivor. (Which was even worse)

  • Nope, you are the problem. I have seen you play, you are not good. I wrote what you do wrong, and even 4 Solos will beat you easily if you try to mindgame safe Pallets.

But yeah, stay in your dream world.

Yes killers with multiple slowdowns are bad but survivors with 4x second chance perks are good players :eyeroll:

If lucky break ends up being spammed I’ll probably play some broken addon legion / Bubba for a while and enjoy a good lols at the totally wasted slot.

IMO the only good Perks for Survivors are either Second Chance Perks or Perks which help to complete the Objective faster. Killers on the other hand have Tracking-, Slowdown- and Chase-Perks which they can use. But most Killers decide just to stack multiple Slowdown-Perks, because it is the easiest to play this game as Killer.

    @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2152169#Comment_2152169

Or, more accurately, killers would just use a better tracking perk.

I dont think that there is any better Tracking Perk for close-range Tracking (which would be the case for Lucky Break). Maybe Stridor, because Survivors who run Lucky Break will run Iron Will as well.

But from my experience, it did not really work to disappear on the PTB, however, I am not good at stealthing around and all games were on Coldwind Farm, which might be "a little bit" too bright to try to lose the Killer. But if Lucky Break is actually used and changes the Meta a bit, the Devs did a good thing IMO.

(Remember, many people complain that all Survivors use the same Perks, but if the Devs buff another Perk which might be used, this is also not right)

    @Entity_Lich94 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2152434#Comment_2152434

Well considering spies is the only one that will work against lucky break, which in itself can be negated by calm spirit, a lot of people are just gonna feel like there's no point in taking them. Its a little bit arrogant to claim that any killer who uses multiple slowdowns is bad. On spirit, nurse and blight sure but surely anyone who has played plenty of killer will get why they get used as much as they do, even if they can be a pain to face as a solo survivor.

Stridor could be a working Perk as well, since most players who run Lucky Break will run Iron Will as well. But regarding Slowdown-Perks, from my experience, Killers who used more than one Slowdown-Perk are worse than those who used one or less Slowdown-Perks. Killers who dont rely that much on Slowdown-Perks are usually also more scary, because they are more confident in their abilities and will probably more likely be able to catch the Survivors in a fast(er) amount of time.
