  • Depends what is in the Chapter.

E.g. Stranger Things was more expensive since it contains 3 Characters instead of the usual 2. If there will be one Killer and one Survivor, it will be the same price as most Chapters.

    Bugs? Yeah

    Balance wise? Very, very rarely.

This is why we see less and less people bothering to test out the PTB.

I mean, PTB is not even a good place to determine the strengths or weaknesses of a Killer. Sure, with Trickster and Twins the community was right, but I remember them calling Oni or Deathslinger weak as well.

Like, balance-wise, there is not really a point in PTBs, the Killer most likely does not even have a Perk Set, nobody knows how to play against them or how to play as them.

    @Topic:

It happens rarely. Mostly because there is not much time between PTB and Live Release, I think, the Devs have around 5 days to change something before it has to go live.

They said, point of the PTB is to gather feedback earlier.

But honestly, PTBs are just for the hype, nothing more. Just hype for the new Content, they are worthless when it comes to looking over the new content from a balance perspective.

  • I would double the amount of BPs the Category-BP Offerings give.

So brown 100% in the category, yellow 150%, green 200%. This would make them worth using.

  • Agreed. Its funny that people have a problem with those Cowshed-Videos. They are completely irrelevant, since they are far from normal gameplay (Powerless Killer, 1v1, no Perks, etc.).

Meanwhile, the 50 Winstreak-Videos of Otz, which are in far more realistic conditions, are fine. Like, it is really bad that a Killer can be run around for 3 minutes if you make the game as survivor-sided as possible, but completely fine that a Killer can win 50 times in actual public games in a row.

    1. I would consider myself a Survivor-Main, but I play both sides equally. I just enjoy Survivor more. I play basically every Killer, but mostly Demo, Pig and Billy currently.
    2. Yeah, most of the time. I am chill.
    3. Yes. I am a completionist, I want to "finish" every game, which means, all Characters P3-50 with all Perks for DBD. Its a pain.
    4. Rarely. I am not the youngest anymore and I dont want to die from heart attack when playing DBD.
    5. Yep, I have every Nea-Cosmetic and buy Cosmetics for other Characters, if I like them.

@Phasmamain he is lying if he said that it is really high IMO

Can you give me your Evidence? I mean, you should have some if you call other people liars.

  • I farmed for that Challenge. Really, I tried it for two hours, I dont like playing Plague and I was never close to getting it. Two games in those two hours, Survivors did not cleanse at all, I used one Apple, so I had two Shots at this to get it done.

Second challenge so far in all Tomes where I farmed (first one was to get two Gengrabs in one game). IMO too hard for being a Level 2 Challenge, should rather be Level 4. The other one (downing a Survivor 60 seconds after downing another Survivor while using Infectious Fright (two times)) is a cakewalk against this Plague-Challenge.

  • Self Care is not a bad Perk. The people who are using it are bad. Like, there is nothing wrong with using Self Care in a good situation, the problem are the people who decide to use Self Care in the Corner of the Map against Sloppy Butcher, while two Teammates are on the Hook and the remaining Teammate is being chased.

I wish I went against Twins. Gone against literally 4, ever, 2 of which were on release day. It's a shame because I know their power and what completely shuts Victor down, and I don't actually get to use that knowledge in favour of going against Legion #12.

After the third game I was about to suicide on first Hook against Twins. Really, they are just a pain to go against. I hate Victors giant Hitbox, his visual model can fly past me and I still get hit.

Like, they are a really creative Killer, but the Devs managed to ######### this Killer up so bad that it is weak and unfun to go against. Surprising how they managed this after releasing Blight, who is strong and fun to go against.

I would rather go against Stridor Spirit than against Twins. Luckily, I dont go against them that often, but 3 during one day was 4 Twins too much for that day.

  • Sadly yes. 3 Twins yesterday, very fun gameplay.

  • The best thing to learn Killer is to blame SWF for your losses, clearly. If you start early enough with that, you will 100% improve and will reach Red Ranks in a few weeks.

No, seriously, it is just practice. Playing Killer is not Rocket Science, it is pretty easy actually. Survivor is easier (but IMO Solo Survivor has more potential to be miserable), but its not like Killer is hard. You should focus on what you can improve and not think about the fact that SWFs have an advantage over Solo players, because this is nothing which will change. MAYBE in the distant future, but I doubt it.

When it comes to BMing, just ignore it, really. There is not really any point in being upset about that, those are some Kids who dont know better. BMing also does not affect your gameplay at all, so you can still improve when they teabag or do whatever what (and from my experience, those Survivors who really try to "bully" Killers are mostly not even good - they want to be like their favorite Youtube, but skip the step of being actually good at the game. Just today when playing Clown I had a Nea who teabagged me after a Pallet stun, just to dead hard into a wall 10 seconds afterwards...).

  • Gameplay. The Killers I play the most dont even have great Cosmetics or I just use the Prestige-Cosmetics. Like, I have rarely used another Cosmetic on Billy than the P3-Cosmetic, and never bought any Cosmetics on Pig.

And other Killers which have awesome Cosmetics, I dont really play - like Spirit does not feel rewarding, I totally like the Oni-Rift Skin from the last Rift, but I suck at Oni and while Clown has some of the best Skins in the game, I rarely play him.

So I am more for gameplay. For me, the Killer can also be a textureless blob, if they are fun to play.

    • Happy that Bloodlust did not end
    • talking about "no skill blinds"

    Ok.

Glad that this Bug is fixed. Nothing worse than Killers just swinging at Pallets to not get stunned. The worst was some Wratih who hit me despite the Pallet already dropped, nodding his Head afterwards. Like, its one thing to get a undeserved hit, another thing being cocky about it.

Pretty happy that I dont have to experience that again.

  • Nobody has to farm just because a BPS is played. Not even with 5 BPS, anyone needs to farm, if the Killer or the Survivors dont want to farm, nobody should force them.

However, I would like it if the BPS gives 100% Bonus BP to everyone and 200% Bonus BP to the one using it. Its a really bad feeling if you put in a BPS just to be nice and others get more points (because they burn a Cake and Pudding), despite playing like donkeys.

  • This should not matter for percentages.

I dont understand what you want to say. If i get slugged and then picked up, i didnt get hooked.

I mean, if the Killer is bad, this will be the outcome. Some Killers slug without any sense and go for a long chase afterwards.

However, when you get slugged for a while and then hooked, you have the slugging on top of being on the Hook.

  • The logic in the OP is pretty flawed.

Like, you are not slugged INSTEAD of being on a Hook, you are slugged AND on the Hook. So there is even more time where you do nothing except of holding M1 (or not even that if you finished recovering).

I dont have a problem with slugging, as long as it is done in a reasonable amount.

Wdym? dead hard is super strong with no downside, it’s basically mettle of man on steroids lol. No way perks should be this strong. It also take no skill as well to press a button lul

If we go for Skill, every Perk should be nerfed, because they all dont need skill. DBD is an easy game in general, not a huge amount of Skill is needed to play it. And equipping Perks certainly does not need Skill.

But I was asking why they want Perks to be nerfed to almost useless - like Balanced Landing is.

  • @Blueberry said:

DH needs to be brought down to their level, not them up to DH. Head On and BL are probably the ideal level.

So you like almost useless Perks, eh?

Bringing Perks to BL-Level would mean that they will not be used at all.

  • Yes. Full loading bar, but no loading in into the actual game. This happened before on some occasions, most likely because someone has a weak PC or Console, which makes it longer for those who are already loaded.

But this is now happening every game, so it is most likely on BHVRs end and not related to any hardware.

  • I would also guess that the Swamp-Maps are up for a rework rather sooner than later. This is pure speculation. The Maps are also quite messed up currently (floating Hatch, floating lanterns), I think they are currently messing with it internally and some stuff made it to live.

    But again - pure speculation.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2197104#Comment_2197104

It was. Besides personal experience, there were even video evidence.

The Legion without addons was not more or less stronger as any other killer to that time (if you have know the counterplay), besides obvious worse killers like the Clown and obvious better killers like the Nurse.

With that I don't want to say that the Legion was weak, but she was also not unconquerable.

She was strong with a few weak spots and that was why the addons were so powerful, because they had taken out the weakness of the Legion.

Also what I am saying was and is covered by the killstats of that time. If you search them, you will see that the Legion was in the lower midfield, no matter which rank and that was for reasons.

Nobody is talking about Legion being too strong. He was unfun in a 1v1-aspect, you WILL down a Survivor with Frenzy, no matter what, without anything the Survivor can do, even without moonwalking and even without Add-Ons.

You lose the game while doing so, which made Legion weak (he was never strong to begin with), but they are guaranteed to down the Survivor they are chasing.

  • Did you throw those Perks randomly on the chart or are you really thinking that Alert, Phamarcy or Desperate Measures are good Perks?

  • I will never understand the Hate of this community against Streamers. Until they have a huge following, than they just follow their words no matter what.

TTVs are most likely usual players. Most of them dont even have many viewers, most TTVs I see have under 5 Viewers.

  • Well, too many people complained about this Perk. Or at least those who complained were too loud.

This is the onyl way how you can change the Meta - buff Perks A LOT so that they can compete with Meta-Perks. BHVR was scared and nerfed it, before it even went live. Now nobody is using the Perk and it is probably worse for those who used it before. Yay.

Honestly, I dont have any hope in Perk Changes anymore. Either they are not enough or if a Perk MIGHT become Meta, they nerf it before it goes live.

  • @Crowman said:

    Here's a thought

Maybe if you spent less time trying to make every balance change into killer vs survivor you might enjoy the game more.

Especially if OP does not understand balancing in the slightest.

    @Topic:

This was asked for for years, even when DS was at its strongest. It is not something that got introduced "because Survivors complained" for a few weeks, it was something that was wished for for years.

Let alone that it mostly does not matter for Killer Perks anyway, most Obsession-Perks are pretty obvious and already give Notifciations. Or you simply see them (like STBFL).

  • I am around Tier 30. I guess I will have finished the Rift after Level 2 is released, pretty sure I will be finished before Level 3.

Dark Devotion Challenge-->Did it with Ghostface. I tried first with Wraith (and The Ghost-Add On), but it only hides and does not give Undetectable, so it did not work. Ghostface worked just fine.

Really? I thought its always been a thing that the shards glow when shes phases in her normal outfit?

btw:Personally i use the oni armor set. With the white flowing hair headpiece. Looks fricken cool.

The thing is, I am very sure that it is not an intended feature where you should see if she is using her power or not. Otherwise it would not be that subtle. And it would be way more consistent.

  • If that would be the case, Spirit would be less complained about.

  • @Crowman said:

Just because the perk is meant to dodge a hit, doesn't mean that you can't dodge a hit and then use the small distance gained to reach nearby safety. The perk has always had a small dash attached to for it.

Using Dead Hard out in the open has very little point as if you aren't nearby anything to use, you'll go down shortly later. You basically want to turn Dead Hard into a perk that turns everything into an open field for 5 seconds allowing the killer to down you regardless.

With this change, why would anyone run Dead Hard over another exhaustion perk like Lithe, Smash Hit, or Balanced Landing?

"With this change, why would anyone run Dead Hard over another exhaustion perk like Lithe, Smash Hit, or Balanced Landing?"

At this point, I think the goal is to make the perk completely useless.

Otherwise I cannot explain how someone can think that giving a 5 second restriction of vaulting windows or dropping Pallets can be anything else than destroying the Perk.

  • Are you sure you are not mistaking Lithe for Dead Hard again?

And well, thats what you get when Survivors have like 6 good Perks...

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2186711#Comment_2186711

I was still able to get a hit in here and there before the pallet bug if i lunged at the correct time. Now it is just a magical barrier. I have even been stunned by it mid lunge when a survivor didn't even run through and just dropped it on the same side as me.

As I said, for me, it feels like before. Before the Bug and now I can get a hit on rare occasions. Sometimes I wonder why I get stunned, because I think I am far away from the Pallet, but this was the case before the Bug as well.

Regarding Survivors dropping the Pallets on the same side like the Killer, this happened two times yesterday and both times I got a hit (but one time without getting stunned, so I guess, this one should not count, because I was too far away from the Pallet).

So for me, it looks like the pre-bug version. Sadly you always had the short stick when having good Ping (not that I want to get strange Hits, but I receive too many of them..).

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2186677#Comment_2186677

So i should be punished for having sub 20 ping?

Please justify how me having good internet and not using a vpn should be at a disadvantage to people who are.

FYI the bugged pallets never allowed me to get unfair hits either and worked just as they are now but with no stun.

the stun was moved to the half way point because instant stuns were too punishing on the killers and made pallets safe af.

This has always been the case. If you are Killer and have good Ping, you dont have any advantage, in fact, you have a disadvantage compared to Killers with high Ping.

For me, Pallets behave like normal. I rarely got Hits through it before, unless the Survivor screwed up massively (up to a point where they did not drop the Pallet). But most of the time, I was not able to hit through Pallets, because I have 40 Ping at max. Meanwhile I still get hit by high-Ping Killers during Pallets, like it used to be.

So from my perspective, Pallets are like they have been before they were bugged. But I guess some Killers got too used to just ignoring Pallet Stuns, and calling it a shadow-buff now..

  • I dont think that Doctor needs such a Buff.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2184343#Comment_2184343

I'm about the same to be honest, I usually bring it in my normal builds, just so feel like I'm not gimping myself out of potential gains.

I guess I should ask a different question then, what's your main build then? My build currently is Wglf, BT, DH, and Spine Chill/Iron will depending on how I'm feeling. But if I wanna go full blown farming for items and bp I use WGLF, Plunderers, Prove thyself, and Bond.

I just wish they'd do multiple things to help with the grind, many many more x2 bp weekends... minimum once a month. Maybe trade in unwanted items for BP or make prestiging worth it by having the perks tiers already unlocked correlate to your prestige. What I mean is like if your killer is prestige 2, every perk in the web would be level 2. I think a combination of all the above or just a few would help so much.

My regular Build is DS/DH/BT and Iron Will. And I am running this for long (except that I used to run Balanced Landing, before they nerfed it, instead of DH). Complete Meta-Build, but I dont see any reason to not run it. First of all, Killers will not run Meme-Builds either and second, I have already done everything - no Perks, random Perks, No Mither... So I just run strong stuff.

Regarding the grind (and more on-topic):

I think there are several possibilities to reduce the Grind:

    • Remove Category Caps, but keep overall Cap of 32k-->So that players are able to get more BPs in the Categories. Like, some Killers have a harder time to get Deviousness, but max out on Hunting pretty quick. Or, Survival-BPs as Survivor, if you dont escape, you usually dont get many, meanwhile you max out in Boldness or Objective pretty quickly.
    • Double all Category-BP-Offerings-->Brown Offerings bring 100% in the Category, yellow 150% and green 200%. This would make them actually worth using, to get the value out of a green Offering, you would need to get 5k BPs in that Category. And even if you max out, you just get a Bonus of 3K. With doubled value (so 200%), you would only need to get 2,5k BPs to tie and with max points, you would actually get 11k profit.

Those two can be done together or at least one of those.

    Another solution:

    • Just double all BP-gains and the Cap (64k). 600 BPs for a Great Skill Check, 600 BPs for a Hit, 1600 BPs for a Shred. This would half the grind. However, they would need to nerf BBQ and WGLF in this case. Especially as Killer it would be really bad if you would be able to get 64k BPs Base, 64k BPs with BBQ extra and another 64k BPs with a Pudding. This would allow Killers to run the strongest Add Ons every game.
  • @Nemmy_Wemmy said:

Yup the grind is definitely too much, I've had a few friends give up or never stick with the game bc they didn't get much unlocked, felt like an unobtainable obstacle for them.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2184011#Comment_2184011

Dang p3 all perks, all survivors? I guess you are the person to ask then, what's a good bp build or build in general that includes wglf? I'm always swapping around my surv build lol

Honestly, whenever I play WGLF, I just include it in my regular Build. But I guess, WGLF and BT together are fine, the other Perks as you like.

You can go full bonkers on Protection Hits and include Mettle of Man as well (and a good Medkit), but you basically have to throw a game to make MoM work, lol.

  • Probably when MMR is active.

  • @nursewannabe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2184011#Comment_2184011

You play survivor a lot more than killer though, right? Because a friend of mine who plays killer more, has a bit more than 4000 hours and maxed out everything.

Not arguing that the grind isn't real, it's horrible, was just wondering. It would also show the inequality in bloodpoints between playing survivor and killer

I used to play a lot more Survivor, currently, I am around equal. But since I only play Survivor in the evening with a friend, it might be possible that I play less Killer from time to time, when I am busy over the day.

But I was also not really optimal, e.g. at some time I only played my main Survivor, without spending any points in other Survivors, despite having maxed out that Character long ago. (Also, a bunch of Survivors was maxed out before it was possible to get 2 Perks per Bloodweb, so the grind was doubled back then...)

I've logged in this morning and I've been resetted from rank 7 to rank 11 (not rank 9).

Yes, Rank Reset is bugged. I have also ranked from Rank 1 to Rank 9, usually I would have gone to 5.

But usually it is how I described, but now it is bugged.

  • Yeah, went from Rank 1 to Rank 9 as well. But its fine, I have something to do and I will try some Adepts, as long as I am in green Ranks as Killer.

  • I have nearly 5900 hours and only have maxed out all Survivors and around a third of the Killers.

Yes, you might say the grind is too much.

  • You will go 1 Color back. So currently, you are purple Rank, you will go back to green Rank, so you will be at Rank 9 with 0 Pips.

It is not really a Rank Reset anymore, it used to be more (like 10 Ranks, at least when you were at Rank 1, you went back to Rank 11, if I remember correctly).

But current Rank Reset only brings you back to the highest Rank of the previous Color.

  • Why exactly do you have to escape as Survivor? This makes no sense. The main reason why other rewards were only awarded when escaping was so that Survivors dont suicide on hook after getting the reward (like the Crowns), even tho this made getting them as Survivor much harder.

But with that, it is already the end of the game. Really strange why BHVR went for that.

  • Not lately. I had one Streamer from China as Killer lately, but thats it. A few months ago, I ran into the same Chinese VPNer 3 days in a row. Was not really a nice experience, even a early dropped Pallet still resulted in a Hit 2 seconds later.

But even this was an exception.

  • Do you want to implicate that Spirit is healthy and fun as well?

  • Yeah, Spirit is probably the go-to if you want to have 4Ks - almost as strong as Nurse with a fraction of time needed to learn her. But not really something you want to play if you want to feel like earning your 4Ks.

  • Are you complaining that you dont get useless Charms you never use in the free track of the Rift? I mean, the one Killer Charm looks way better than most of the Survivor Charms in the free Track.

  • Does not have to mean anything. When Spirit got her first Nerf, nobody played her, because everyone thought she was weak. (Good times)

Same can be going on for Freddy. But I dont miss him.
