But he mentioned that he had a 10 minute queue as solo survivor.

It looks more like we need way more survivors switching to killer.

    Happy hunting!

10 minute chase, not 10 minute queue.

  • Double-facecamping with Bubba would be the only thing I would do in this gamemode.

    @Topic:

2vX will never work. The thing is, who do you expect to play this gamemode? In regular games, Solo is already a pain, and you have to worry about 3 teammates. Should you have to worry about 5 or even 7 teammates when playing Solo?

The only people who would play it on the Survivor SIde would be SWFs, and probably nothing smaller than 3man, maybe even full 6/8-Stacks. And we all know how Killers love to go against SWFs and to blame their losses on them.

Obviously Killers who want to play with friends would play this gamemode. However, you would have to balance a lot to make it work. As already mentioned, a combination of Spirit and Plague would be a problem. Something like Nurse and Bubba would be a problem as well, if you have a good Nurse-player, the Bubba can have 0 hours in the game, they just need to camp, while the Nurse gets the Downs.

And last but not least, the reason why Nemesis only has 2 Zombies is because more would cause technical issues. I dont think that having 8 players or even 10 players on the Map (+potential Zombies if Nemesis is used) will really work out.

A better change would be recover faster from special attacks too, its get used ALOT if that was the case.

Although that may be abit too strong lol

This would have to be very inconsistent. A Demo recovering from a missed shred might be ok, but a Huntress recovering from a missed throw or a deathslinger from a missed shot would be too much.

  • Honestly, I cannot blame anyone who says that the DBD-Support does nothing. Because none of my tickets have been answered for at least half a year. I reported several players like a Killer who said that they tunneled me because of a Pride-Charm, calling me someone who does bad things to children because of it etc... Nothing, at some point, there was an automatic response and thats it. The player is still playing.

Reported another player who said a really racist thing (I dont really want to repeat it), again, automatic response at some point, player is still playing (but, to give the benefit of the doubt, maybe he received a Chatban).

And around 10 days ago I reported a Cheater. This Cheater had 63 hours when I reported them, now they have 101 hours. The video I send in did not receive any Clicks since I uploaded it, which means that nobody from Support opened my ticket in 10 days. I get that cheaters are banned in waves, however, I expect more than ignoring tickets for 10 days. I bet I will get an automatic response in a few days and thats about it.

So yeah, the Report-System of DBD is a placebo, nothing more. I will not bother reporting anyone, if BHVR spends less time reading reports than I am spending when writing them, I cant be bothered.

  • Probably more people playing Killer, because you get way more BPs as Killer so 1.5xBPs grants more BPs.

This means, less Survivors, so Matchmaking is expanding even more.

Yeah, SBMM is great. But Solo Q has always been miserable. And even if the Devs bring in those Icons which show what others are doing, it might not even change, because even if that Claudette in the corner of the Map sees that another Survivor is chased, she would not to do Gens, but this is not guaranteed.

If those Icons make it live at some point, it will probably be even more frustrating for Survivors, because you can see the teammates doing nothing.

it is not an impactful perk. Lucky break+Iron will already removes scratch marks, sound and blood for 60 seconds and it does not get used. Stunning a killer with a pallet is not common occurrence in normal gameplay. More-over, Smash hit is exhaustion perk that has far more reward for stunning the killer with a pallet.

People that use decisive strike use it for its second chance effect and do not really care about scratch mark removal effects. Quick&quiet+Head on is only realistic application for the perk but Dance with me is already a perk that removes scratch marks for 3 seconds upon exiting a locker and rarely anyone uses it. I doubt upping duration by 7 seconds (4 seconds now) makes much of a difference.

I can only assume it will be a perk that gets reverted by end the year if anyone remembers its existance to begin with.

Yeah, those are good examples. The Lucky Break + Iron Will Combo is stronger (and IMO Lucky Break is still overrated), however, you barely see it. And I have never seen Smash Hit outside of Adepts and this just shows that a Perk which activates on Stuns has to be way better than Smash Hit to be useable.

  • @Nathan13 said:

This perk could’ve easily been added to DS.

Yes, this was the first thing I wrote when it came out. And this was also something I have written on the Forums before the Perk was announced and I have read it from others as well that this (hiding Scratchmarks, Grunts of Pain, Blood) for a short duration of time would add to the Anti-Tunnel-factor of DS (and the Anti-Tunnel-factor of DS is currently very low).

But even with 10 seconds, there is not really a point to waste two Perk Slots on this, the Perk was already pretty bad. But now that they changed it, it will be even worse. Which is not entirely terrible, they are nerfing an already weak Perk, so the complaints will be quite rare, but still, they should have added this to DS in the first place.

  • Ranks dont have anything to do with Skill (not that Matchmaking has anything to do with Skill either, but hey...).

Grades just show how much a person is playing, nothing more.

Devs stated that mori's and keys would be removed from all character inventories. In its place a system that allowed survivors to earn keys by accentually bullying the killer. Once a survivor earned the key they became mori'able.

Long story short, the idea is dead with the current hatch changes.

I have never heard something like this, do you have a source for this? I know that they were talking about making Moris (and probably Keys) a Basekit mechanic which you had to earn, but I have never heard any concrete idea.

    @Topic:

I dont think they ever talked about a change to BP-Offerings. But they should really at least double the values, it is laughable to get 3k BPs max for a green Offering.

  • @PeaceNGrease said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2829314#Comment_2829314

So that people can have blood points stocked for the new killer and survivor?

The BP-Cap is still one Million. You dont need 1.5x-BPs to get this quite fast. It sure helps, but it mainly helps with the current grind (aka everything except for Sadako and the new Survivor-guy).

  • Two factors:

You are competing with other Survivors for the Points and Emblems. If you never be able to get an Unhook, you will have a hard time to get Altriusm-Points or Benevolence Emblems.

If you are chased all game, you will not get Objective Points (but Lightbringer-Emblem). And the other way around, if someone else is tunneled all game, you get a lot of Objective and Lightbringer, but almost no Evader or Boldness.

Second factor is the Unbroken-Emblem and Survival-Points. If you die, you cannot double-pip (in Iri Grades). No matter what you do. And usually, if you die, you are missing out on a big chunk of BPs, since the Survival-Points are the hardest to get (but it is getting better).

  • They just released News about Sadako being buffed while an already weak Survivor Perk on the PTB was nerfed.

    Sounds very survivor-sided to me.

  • The White Glyph-Challenge grants a lot of BPs if you can escape with the Mirror.

  • You dont.

Can we end this us vs them-Thread now right away?

Feels bad that they fixed that, guess opening lockers was just too strong :/

They did not fix that, they nerfed the Add-On. Because before, it was also in the description.

It is a very minor Nerf, but I dont really know why they would do that since the impact of opening Lockers faster was almost 0.

I feel like all I ever hear is "I wish I saw more Twins" or "I've never played against them" the "unfun" aspect of potentially slugging with Victor is also completely countered by circle of healing which is in most games nowadays. I personally love playing against them as it requires me to use a different playstyle compared to most other killers.

Only someone who never played against Twins would say "I wish I saw more Twins".

  • @Azshhh said:

Didn't they once try making a gap in the white fence by the school? I thought that was a good change, dunno why they reverted it

    This was a Bug.

  • "Wraith: Shadow dance addon also increases your locker opening speed even though the addon doesnt has this in the description."

Nope, it does not do that anymore.

  • Which combo?

  • You cannot heal yourself to healthy when you are broken by any means.

  • When it is not mentioned anywhere, I would assume it is a Bug. Because the Stun for Pallet Saves is a Stun of a Survivor escaping the Killers grasp and not a Pallet Stun.

42k player for 24 hours. And that's just on Steam. So this looks good to me.

@Aven_Fallen is right. Resident Evil is great license, so it came with so much new players. So people looked game, some of them loved and still playing. And others left.

If we get another big license with next anniversary, you will see bigger numbers again.

Yeah, exactly. Many players were new, some probably returned as well.

And some already left and probably old players left as well. I would not deny that players left because of SBMM or other things, but with 42k players playing at the same time, the game is far from doing bad.

  • To be fair, the big numbers are because of the Resident Evil-DLC.

And compared to the years before, there are still more players playing.

You do not help people do challenges... Because they might actually be playing the game normally a few days later and kill you? Rofl... What in the? Survivor mains, bruh.

Luckily for me I do not want or need the help. But I feel bad for the garbage killers who are likely survivor mains to begin with who have to deal with their own kind from the other side. As if it wasn't torture enough playing with them on your team, imagjne playing against them as someone who doesn't know how to Billy. Feels bad, man.

Pro tip for anyone struggling with this challenge. Instead of playing nice, find the weak link, hard face camp them. Do NOT kill them, slug them when they get to stage 2 and proxy camp the slug. Easy. That is how I did it before I learned how to Billy, back when I would literally struggle to do his daily and need exit gate hits. Anyone can do it. You do not need to hope for a helpful survivor main.

Oh, it is more the second part. That Legion was one of the Killers where I helped with Challenges, died for it.

And the part with the tunneling-example... Eh. I think only being nice when you want something is not really a good move.

That being said, I also dont expect that someone helps me with my challenges.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

I'm kinda amazed that survivors would rather get minimal Bloodpoints and de-pip than help me get this Billy challenge done. I show I'm friendly, we nod at each other a bunch, I bring out my chainsaw, and they scatter. Well, okay, if you won't stand still and let me get the chainsaw hits, then I'm going to go stand at the exit gate while you do gens. Those are your options. I have no pips, offerings, or add-ons to lose.

When I play survivor, I'd much rather take the chance and help the killer out than only get to do gens and leave. Doing gens and leaving is always a de-pip because it's impossible to get altruism or chase if the killer refuses to interact and it's frustrating as hell. Where are the survivors like me when I'm playing killer??

I can only speak for myself, but I stopped helping Killers with Challenges. The guy who got his challenge because of me can be the guy who will tunnel me out of the game a few days later.

Also, I already helped Killers and got killed for it. E.g. I got killed by a Legion while helping him with his "Stab 5 people"-Challenge, the other Survivor and myself got sacrificed by him.

Sucks for those who are actually nice and need the help, but if a Survivor is nice enough to help with a Challenge, dont sacrifice them. At least for me, those people spoiled it for others.

  • Easy choice.

If I play Killer, I know the person who is responsible for messing up. It is me.

As Solo Survivor, I can have 3 people not knowing anything and I dont have any control over them. And nothing will fix it (even if the Devs will come up with additional information in the UI aka "Who is getting chased?" and "Who is working on Gens?", this does not mean that players will actually react accordingly...).

In fact, I dont play Solo Survivor anymore. I only play SWF with a Friend, if I am alone and I want to play DBD, I play Killer.

  • @sulaiman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2824650#Comment_2824650

Yes. The question is, would you disagree with a group of good players on game balance, just because you know the game mechanics?

Yes. Because stuff like this will always cause problems. Even if someone is good at the game this does not mean that they will be good at balancing the game. Some ideas I have seen from Content Creators are just terrible. (e.g. the frequent idea of one Content Creator to put a Debuff on SWFs)

And while I think I have some decent knowledge of the game, I know that others would find some of my ideas terrible (and some will probably be terrible, because I am not really able to see the whole picture of the game aside from my own matches as Killer or Survivor).

And then, if you have Content Creators with those good players, you will have the problem with their communities. Why is Content Creator A in the position to balance the game but Content Creator B is not?

    @kate_best_girl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2824650#Comment_2824650

I mean game balance is pretty different from cooking or simply knowing basic knowledge of a game. If all it would require to balance DBD is someone who just know the basics of the game then literally any player who has more than 10 hours would be able to balance it according to you. You should at least be able to hold your own against high level opponents when balancing a game especially when you're only balancing around your own skill level.

And you think, for being able to balance a game it is enough to just play it a lot and get good at it? This is really wrong.

Personally I think that the Devs have way more knowledge in game design and game balance than every Forum Warrior (myself included).

Sister please tell me you didn't just say "We don't have to be good at the game to balance the game."...

They dont have to be. Only because you are doing one thing frequently does not mean that you can do the same thing on the other side and have to be good at it.

E.g. I am pretty good at eating, but this does not make me a good Cook.

I am also very knowledgeable in a Trading Card Game, because I am organizing and Judging this TCG. But that does not mean that I have to be a good player as well.

You mean back before mmr was a thing and you had a chance of getting potato survivors without having to play at night or trying to lower your mmr. Right. Not a fight, just a fact.

Does not change the fact that not every challenge has to be super-easy. I know that DBD-players really want as many participation trophies as possible, but it is fine if at some point you have to do a little bit more and dont complete a Challenge in the first trial.

And I dont really think that MMR has that much of an impact, if you get good Survivors in one game, you will have Potatoes in the next game, because this system is not working.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

His teleport ability is fun to use. Most killers does not need skill already but yeah Freddy is really so boring killer to play as or against.

The thing is, the Teleport is fine by itself. And I think it would have been something which old Freddy could have gotten as well.

But the Snares dont really feel fun to use. You basically pick Freddy up and know everything he can do at this point. He is just really dull to play as and play against.

  • @Tranquil_Blue said:

Personally, I have such a hard time getting value out of dream snares. I really enjoy using Clown's bottles and Pinhead's chains in chase, but the dream snares are rarely helpful for me. I have much more fun with the dream pallets.

To be fair, the Bottles and Snares take more to be used. The Snares are very easy to use, so it is quite fair that they are weaker than Clowns Bottles or Pinhead Chains.

And granted, both are more fun to use.

  • Freddy.

When Skill Floor = Skill Ceiling, it is not really a fun Killer...

  • This is exactly the same Challenge like in the Hillbilly-Tome before. This was also at Level 3 of the Tome and players managed to do it.

Not every challenge has to be super-easy...

  • It will not die. But I guess the queue times for Killers will be longer, since Survivors are more inclined to drop DBD for some time to play different games. Mostly because of SWF, if two players of a SWF usually play together and one of them is playing a different game, the other one will probably not play Solo-Hell.

Big content creators leaving will also not really change anything. And honestly, DBD could be at its best state ever with everyone happy with the game and players would drop during Elden Rings Release.

  • "everything goes", but apparently this does not go for DS?

  • @Smeagolthevile said:

Its not very rare, atleast not according to rarity, its just uncommon.

While its not as good as the very rare one that shows everyone what you are seeing w/ the map, its still solid for pointing out specific places, basement, gens being worked on, hex totems, etc.

I think that BHVR needs to impliment something for these kinds of items/perks/addons. Something akin to what you see in horizon zero dawn, or other similar games. When you hover over the item, you click a button to see a short little video of it in action, how to use it, etc.

Like you look at the Anti-Hemorragic Syringe, you'd click the button and you'd see a little video of someone going up, using a medkit, the prompt appears and it pauses and focused on it (with the correct keybinding/button mapping for the user) and then plays the sound you hear when it works. Something like that.

It is not very rare when it comes to the ingame-rarity, but it is very rarely used.

The thing is, you need a Rainbow Map for it, because the default Tracking ability of the Maps is pretty low (only 8 meters), so you want a Range Add-On. And since the green Map only tracks Generators and needs another Add-On to track something else, you cannot really use a Glass Bead with it.

  • I have 7k hours and I guarantee you that I have not seen this Add On being used by other Survivors for more than 10 times. And I did not use it myself more than 3 times.

It is a very rare Add On, you dont really see it often. So many players simply dont know what it does.

I know, wouldn't it be awful if they added a mode to make the game more accessible so everyone could enjoy it.

Nah, it is part of the experience to have a somewhat difficult game. And personally, I think the difficulty of Souls-games is hugely exaggerated. They are challenging, this is for sure, but they are not really the hardest games ever.

But I have also tried to play games like I wanna be the guy, and IMO Miyazaki makes casual games compared to this ######### who created I wanna be the guy.

If you haven't played Cuphead before, you should try it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2821460#Comment_2821460

I really hope they don't make the game too easy or add an easy mode.

I dont know, I just did not enjoy it in general. Not even the gameplay itself, but it just felt weird to play a From Software-Game which such a low amount of customization, e.g. I want to try out different weapons and the excitment to find a new weapon and test out its moveset makes a lot for me in Fromt Software-Games.

I think I will try Cuphead at some point, but I really struggle to start new games. I am that kind of guy who dumps in lots of hours in a few games instead.

  • The Game has always been full of safe Pallets. Funny enough, people called it a killer-sided Map back then and the gameplay was the same like it is nowadays - run around a bunch of safe Pallets.

It has so many Pallets because it does not have many Windows at all. And those which are there are not really good.

Also, it has breakable Walls and those Walls make some Pallets useless, because they lead to Deadends, unless the Gen next to it is done or the Killer breaks the Wall (which will never happen). So they added a few more Pallets to compensate for it.

IMO removing the breakable Walls and some Pallets would be the right way to do in the short term.

In the long run, I wish they would completely rework the Map and add more Windows to it and make some Pallets unsafe.

  • @derppug said:

There's already a lack of killers. Turning off bloodlust, like they did last year, would make finding a survivor game even more impossible.

It was not bad during the weekend. And honestly, it was fun to actually outplay Survivors instead of just winning a chase because of holding W. I got outplayed so hard by a Laurie at two unsafe Pallets, I would not have deserved to get a Hit.

And it also felt good to be actually better than a Killer at unsafe Loops, where they would have just won by holding W while failing every mindgame.

(Bloodlust only really matters for unsafe Loops nowadays anyway. The strong Loops have a Pallet and that will be kicked anyway, removing Bloodlust...)

    @Topic:

There is no reason for a week without Dead Hard. The reason for a weekend without Bloodlust was because the Devs want to get Data from it and Bloodlust is a game mechanic, which is present in every game. Dead Hard is not a game mechanic, it is a Perk and they can already see what it does when they look at games or Survivors who do not have Dead Hard equipped.

  • While I think all of them need changes, I think Insidious is the biggest one. NOED needs changes, some other Perks on this list are basically means (especially Monstrous Shrine and Sole Survivor), but all of them are at least not only used for one unhealthy playstyle.

  • People are really bothered by Flashlight-Squads in 2022? I prefer them, especially because most of them skip the step of being good.

But in general, if they want to go for Flashlights, you will most likely have an easy time, those groups dont play to escape, they are not efficient. The efficient Groups stick to Gens and are far less enjoyable to go against.

  • Yes, very excited for it. I did not play Sekiro (only a bit, but it did not really get me) and the last Soulslike I played was Code Vein over a year ago.

So since DS3 I have not played a From Software-Game. Really looking forward to it.

  • Buffing weak things is easier than nerfing strong things.

It also is better for the community. If a Killer who is way too strong is released and nerfed, Killer players would complain a lot. If a Killer who is too weak is released and buffed, the responses are more positive.

Same goes with Survivor Perks, bringing a OP-Perk like MoM and nerf it has a very sour taste. But if a weaker Perk is buffed, this is positive.

Ah, I dont use them honestly. I just collect them. Sometimes I throw in Haddonfield for the Archive which requires to jump from a high place during a chase, because I know that Haddonfield-Buildings are tall enough and there are plenty of them to get the challenge done fast.

So if you ever go against me on Haddonfield, just follow me to spare the next Killer a Haddonfield-Offering. :P

Thats a lot! I have 198 on my Survivors and 58 on my Killers (+probably some on Nurse). And I avoid them as Killer by any means and never use them and some of my Killers dont even have 1 Haddonfield-Offering.

The survivor meta saves people after the game should be over for them; daily.

You sucked at looping? Well there's DH to fix it. Made a bad save? BT. Went down too fast? No problems, DS.

    NOED is fine. Do bones.

"Do bones" is always the stereotype answer for that. If a Survivor would run around doing 5 Totems, they are not doing a Gen, which might mean that they dont make it to Endgame in the first place.

Cleansing Dull Totems for a Perk the Killer might not even have is not really good gamedesign.

And your examples...Eh. DH, BT and DS dont really cover up mistakes.

DH-->It allows you to play greedy. The Survivor who gets an extra Loop gets it because they have DH, it is not the case that they tried it, realized they messed up and have DH to cover their mistake. Survivors who are at least somewhat decent will just use DH for distance to get another Loop. And if they dont have DH, they drop a Pallet earlier or dont extend the chase by another Loop, in both cases, they did not make an mistake. The bad Survivors are those who use DH in the open, extending the chase by half a second.

BT-->It is a band-aid against Camping. I am using BT solely for the reason against camping, I dont make bad Unhooks. The only time I unhook in the Killers face is when they are camping. So, am I making a bad save?

DS-->Again, band-aid, this time against tunneling. It is not really my fault that the Killer goes after me after an Unhook. It is also not my fault if a teammate of mine unhooks me in front of the Killer without BT. (And, to be complete - it is also not my fault that my DS runs out because the Killer is too bad to catch me in one minute, but "Anti Tunnel Perk", eh?)

    @Topic:

While it is not ok to be toxic in Endgame Chat, I dont think the other person is the only one. You were not really better, you basically started immediatly to do the same, which made the argument even more intense. Not saying that everything said was alright, but you did not really do anything to avoid it...

Besides, regarding Perks... You say that you are "pretty noob" with PH. This is fine, but running NOED will not really help you to improve.
