probs like false reporting and such. dont wanna ruin someone's reputation or sumthin. but yeah even tho i dont like L***-T*** cause he was a troll , i dont think he should of been banned. mabye a warning. tho he should of followed the rules
I agree with that, its less about that person banned and more about the example it sets. Thats why i felt like it needs to be addressed.

The hacker will just change their name.
If they're the killer, you can't possible know who it is until you see the flying ghostface.
No one's going to obsessively check every single profile just in case it's one hacker they once heard about on the forums.
And no one is going to be banned from Dead by Daylight due to the forums getting pissy about them.
yeah they can most def do that. The point is to make someone who can do something about it care. The forums are the vocal part of dbd why wouldnt we try to address this? What it seems like you're saying is "oh well"
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
they got banned cause they did it in normal discussions, putting a report and reporting it with the fourms report area will probs not get u banned
unless theres some legal reason not to name hackers i really dont see why we shouldnt name them. As it stands it just looks like the mods are defending them

Why?
What's throwing their name onto a post and saying "look at this piece of trash, everyone get mad at him" going to do?
It won't solve the problem.
It will make the community aware of a hacker so they can avoid them. Simple logic. Or someone with the right power could ban their steam account or people at behavior can finally do something about it. The more people complaining the more attention it gets. Squeaky wheel gets the grease

im not going to unless the mods do. which i dont expect. Its still bs

To be fair, without getting into spoilers (please people, play Silent Hill 2 and understand why it's one of the greatest games ever made), it would be sort of difficult to know exactly how James would fit in this game, what would attract the entity to him.
Reguardless of said spoiler, I don't see how its any different from any other survivor. Slight spoiler -> The fact that he fights through his pshyche to get to that point says a lot about his ability to survive. Also if we are talking about the same thing, lore wise the entity could have just decided that James hasn't suffered enough so it would deny him of that spoiler.

James Sunderland. Unbelievable they added Alessa and lisa and not James

Fair enough, even I when i suspect a swf when i see 4 pc gamers, bring my strong build BUT, if i lose to them i don't come here to cry in the forums about them cause before that match I was in a 5-8 win streak with normal matches and my normal builds.
The balance of the game imo is the most important part. Once the balance is fixed, if ever, all other issues could be addressed. So I think people have a right to complain about it. Just as you have a right to complain about them complaining XD.
I wish the meta drastically changed so that my builds dont have to be focused on gen defense. The most fun I have in DBD is when i bring non meta fun builds, but those builds are almost going to guarantee a loss at high level play. When I am beaten I want it to feel like I was beaten, and then I'm fine with it. When the games unbalanced nature beats me I have issues with that.
The worst games are ones where i smoke every survivor in chase but the still manage to do all the gens and/or escape. Survivor gameplay is so relaxed and inconsequential when compared to killer gameplay. They can make many many mistakes and all get out. The killer makes one and it could cost them the game. Its not a good thing for the health of this game.
-
@Wedeguy said:
Dear oh dear, how I love how people are crying here about swfs while guess what, after 2k hours, as a solo survivor, you will get a sweaty killer in pubs with all gen regression/tunneling 1 guy out of the game startegy once in 2 games, while your clueless team mates are running around the map, not doing gens and have no idea who's doing what.
Killers are facing sweaty SWFS once in a while but solo q survivors need to face the sweaty ruin/undying/pop/corrupt killers every 2 games in red ranks.
So please stop crying about "BUT BUT THEY HAVE DISCORD THEY CAN TALK", try and play solo Q survivor and I pormise you that no matter how good of a looper you are, once you get these noob team mates who just roam around the map and waiting to unhook asap you'll see how sad it is.
there is a direct connection between solo q and killer but this isnt it. The devs refuse to balance for swfs so killers feel like they need to play like this because they do not know if they are facing a sweaty team or not. So the ones who suffer most are solo q but its because of swfs ultimately. Play both at high level and you will see what i mean.
The real fix for this game is to nerf down swfs and then after you've brought swfs down to solo q or solo q up to swfs level. Address scummy killer tactics, but as it stands those ways of playing are a killers defense to an unbalanced game

Agreed! I think if they do more silent hill they'll do just like Midwich, like as if the map would be between the fog world and the otherworld instead of choosing just one or doing variations. My favorite picks would be Lakeside, the mall, and Woodside apartments, it would also be pretty cool to just have the streets as a map.
i think even foggy midwich would be neat

Thank you for your time, and farewell.
I think that you basing wether or not you will enjoy the game on other people getting what they want is kind of dumb, whats one chapter? on a side note. All this fnaf hate is really hyperbolic and unnecessary. I'm an old school horror game fan and dove a bit into playing fnaf but after that kept up with lore bits. and its a well established and thought out franchise with a unique take on gaming and horror. Its just adds variety to whats out there and theres nothing wrong with that. I have also got into game development :D

Blank statement. Pyramid head is last year, and nemesis fits precisely into my definition. RE chapter reeks of being added becouse it's big franchise and not something devs wanted in the game themselves. They didn't choose a character who has potential for fun power to be in dbd, just went with boring and predictable nemesis for cheap hype. Deprived 3 killers of their own maps to make that RPD atrocity, again for cheap hype. Well, that hype is gone, and now we have a killer from resident evil, an iconic horror franchise, who people barely use becouse of how utterly unenjoyable he is. The few times I actually see nemesis they're using anniversary cake, probably the only reason people still play him. Oh, and there are a few fist-punching fanatics that make themselves be known I guess.
Should I be happy about wasted potential, in your opinion? Allow me to be not

nah i dont see it, what im saying is coming off of PH and silent hill is a pretty massive high. Blight is a fan favorite. twins and trickster suck but are not bland or uninspired, they are actually unique and i applaud the team for consistently adding to the roster. Then theres no denying the legacy of RE that translates to Nemesis as well. Which added a completely brand new concept into the game with the ai zombies. Bland and uninspired is not what this last year was. Lazy is what it was more like, but they were also updating the game and rebalancing it. Mixed bag but i think you are kind of being hyperbolic

Seriously, with hints as clear as what they gave us(burned maps, bunny on a rock, TRAPped ace, matching letters revealed in the same manner as springtrap name was revealed for fnaf3, ciircus baby, classic animatronic AAAAAAA scream) there's one thing I can be absolutely sure of - they know goddamn well what they're doing. And although i'm not the biggest FNAF fan, Springtrap is so likely to break a year-old trend of bland, uninspired killers that barely fit into dbd at all, that I actually got extremely excited for new release and for the future of the game in general. If they announce anything else, I will not be able to perceive that as anything but an arrogant mockery and a literal spit in a face.
Wonder if anyone else feels the same way?
“Springtrap is so likely to break a year-old trend of bland, uninspired killers that barely fit into dbd at all” are you serious? We got two of the most iconic horror gaming franchises added into dbd within the last year.
-
more silent hill please. I wouldnt mind like 10 locations from just the first 3 games. Treasure trove of horror there. More specifically. A city map of different blocks would be cool. They could add variations of either dimension. Others I would consider are the apartments from 2, brookhaven and alchemilla hospitals, the theme park, the mall from 3, the prison from 2. I'd even take locations from 4 downpour and homecoming. Even if Downpour and Homecoming are considered bad theres no denying the uniqueness of some of their locations.
Same for RE but im waaaay more into the idea of getting silent hill maps

In short, the Candyman actor is hinting that he appears in Dead by Daylight, as it is now the horror hall of fame. I spoke for a long time saying that he made voice recordings for a project, I think that makes sense since it also happened with the episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, I think the wait is over and it is time to know what his ability and his perks could be.
i agree. going to go in hand with the movie i think. Unless tony todd is talking about a stand alone candyman game. Which i highly doubt. This would make sense if the candyman chapter was delayed and the binding of kin/allkillchapter were pushed up. It would explain the lackluster chapters lately

It needs to be extended. Will it? Who knows at this point. Behavior isn't really great at making up for their mistakes, and they aren't getting any better and fixing mistakes either. For years now the developers of this game can not keep it up and running without issue. It's always something whether content is broken, not releasing at the scheduled time, the servers are down, etc. and I doubt it will ever get better. I know things happen, but the fact they are still this bad after 5 years really sends a message.
they extended last years, also i think its getting worse as time goes on. Maybe they need a quality of life team to focus more on game health. Besides that I think the direction is pretty good, they are slowly balancing the game and addressing everyones issues one at a time. Its what they said "Hall of fame for horror" Just need a working game lol
-
@[Deleted User] said:
They should just give some sort of compensation for the affected platforms. However i doubt they would extend the event for everyone though because then other people would get too many event items, and that means less playtime overall
they extended last years though

its not in rotation proper they are still testing stability as far as im aware. The map offering is not playable. Plus I'd like a time where the map is in front of rotation and pops up more like with the previous new maps and reworks.

I think they should pretty much double the event timeframe since consoles arnt getting fixed during it. I'm pc but i dont think its fair to them. RPD hasnt been up since chapter release. Now the servers are crashing. Kind of lame if im being honest. really enjoy most thing coming out just wish the game would work. Whats your thoughts?

Why it would be toxic? That word is overused by this community and it has lost all meaning. Only post game chat is toxic when there are death threads, racial insults etc..
The definition of toxic is "very harmful or unpleasant in a pervasive or insidious way" the dbd community uses the unpleasant in a pervasive or insidious way side of it. It doesnt have to be something so extreme as you are pointing out

Your attempt to get personal because you dont like the facts I presented, is unfortunate.
It will never be someone elses problem that you got salty at something they did ingame. You need to get your feelings under control.
My emotions are fine I just dont like people trying to justify people acting like this. You're essentially defending people who act like this. Makes you said toxic person. most likely a troll

Me personally, I cant imagine catching some emotions because someone clicked a flashlight or the crouch button, or wasted their own time swinging at someone on a hook.
That would be embarrassing.
ok so you are said toxic person, because you have no empathy to those who would have said emotions. How about we just not be nasty to one another and all enjoy the game? Do you enjoy making people feel that way? I think people like this are embarrassing not those who react rationally to people antagonizing them.
-
@MegaDwight said:
There is no such thing as toxicity from ingame actions.
There is only salt generated by peoples fragile emotions toward ingame actions.
Keep your emotions out of it and just play the video game.
so clicking the flashlight and teabagging, or hitting the survivor on hook and slugging all 4 or tunneling someone at 5 gens isnt toxic? riiiiiight

If you wrote a proper bug report, with all the details, then that will make them aware of it. I'm asking you how additional threads complaining about the issue (and you essentially advertising how to abuse this bug) are supposed to help them fix the issue. What's the connection between the number of threads and how quickly a programmer can find and fix a bug?
Its about awareness, it has nothing to do with actually fixing the bug. The report as you and I agree are pretty much ignored, I'm assuming because of the volume of reports. One person saying something may go unnoticed but if a bunch of people start pointing these things out it might be seen.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2340213#Comment_2340213
If you're so sure, then please explain your thought process. Why does it take less time for programmers to find the source of a bug and fix it if people complain more? What's the actual connection between the two; how does it work?
what are you talking about? As opposed to the report function? that gets most likely thousands sometimes bunk reports? They obviously dont know the hit box is messed up there since they put it in there like that. So obviously people point it out and they become aware of it and fix it.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2340183#Comment_2340183
I know it wasn't the volume of complaints that had anything to do with the change. As @burt0r already pointed out, there's a big difference between remotely enabling/disabling a function and finding/fixing a bug in code.
If you're right, it should be very easy to show a correlation between the volume of complaints and how quickly something gets fixed. Again, as @burt0r pointed out, there have been many complaints over the years about pretty much everything.
No the complaint was to do something about it and people were vocal enough to get the devs to do something about it. (The game crash with dc penalty on) My original post was complaining about the dc penalty being on while the game was busted. Like i said you didnt understand what i was saying. No overall game balance cannot be addressed very fast but glitches and bugs with hitboxes can. It doesnt mean that they will but being vocal about it will increase the chances of it being fixed. You guys aren't disproving anything by saying "but they wont balance all of the games issues that we have been complaining about for years so what makes you think they will correct a small hitbox?" Its whataboutism

And a hyper-specific bug for the Switch was fixed despite having no loud complaints.
What you saw there was just a coincidence. It's a fallacy called "post hoc, ergo propter hoc". Means "after this, therefore because of this".

Flipping a known switch for the penalty mechanic will obvious be way faster than finding a problem in Mountains of marbled code, unrelated to the uproar each problem causes.
Half the community on this forum is asking for hatch spawn changes, buffing solo to swf level and much more stuff for years by know, quite loudly and it doesn't get addressed. So much for the power of the community.
Those things are going to effect the whole balance of the game this is a minor change that can be addressed quickly. they are not the same

Yes, like I said, throwing gasoline in a fire. The time it takes to find and fix something in a program has no relation to how serious it is, how often people abuse it, or how loudly they complain about it. It doesn't work that way.
I disagree, many people complained about the dc penalties being active while the game was crashing so frequently and because of it it got turned off immediately. Power of the community

That will just guarantee more people abuse it. It's like throwing gasoline in a fire to make the problem bigger than it has any reason to be just so people "pay attention".
So we just ignore it and hope the devs just fix it? I'm in favor of making everyone aware. Louder the complaint gets the more attention itll get

I can't remember any big issues that popped up around that time. At least nothing that was so bad as to actively detract from the average match. I guess they nerfed the bajeezus out of most of the new perks and introduced breakable walls back then, but that was about it.

I have no issues traversing the map. If you hold w and not plan routing then yeah the map is going to beat you. Also id say there are worse maps as far as traversal. Seems you're just regurgitating whats been said by others
-
Yeah im among the minority that actually loves the map. I think the mentality of hating the map comes from lazy streamers who just want to focus on their chat and not the match. Midwich requires a bit of attention to form proper game plans. Its a popular opinion because a lot of dbd player regurgitate they're favorite streamers opinion
