The only other objective I think would ever be fun is if it allowed survivors to dual and straight up kill the killer at the end like Home sweet home.
Otherwise its just hold m1 but, not on a gen
nah i dont think fighting the killer should be a thing in dbd. Doesnt feel right. I've always liked the idea of finding gen parts before you can work on the gen

It would be massively imbalanced with slowdown perks.
One thing to be balanced at a time. If all said things were put into play i think this is a great idea. Obviously the meta will have to shift after these changes and gen slowdown will be the next on the chopping block. I think more objectives for survivors will make the game more fun for survivors. Also assuming you take out time to do that second objective from gen times then gen repair times would be less anyways. Then Gen slowdown perks will be less effective by default.

I never shamed you for your interests, I have literally no idea what you're talking about. Unless your talking about my confusion for why you care so much, in which case it was never meant to come across as shaming. We literally play the same game, my dude.
It doesn't matter what you think, it doesn't matter what I think- It doesn't matter what anyone but BHVR thinks. Since they haven't changed SWF, even a little in the five years since they were added, I doubt they ever will. Especially at the glacial pace they balance at. And yes, it's incredibly difficult to do anything to SWF because for every sweaty, no fun SWF there are probably four or five SWF teams that don't play the game enough to be sweaty. And before you ask why I make that kind of assumption-
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AZTOJJZ35WID/image.png
Only 16% of people who have ever owned the game on Steam reached rank 10. Most people play this game casually. This doesn't even involve console. It isn't fair to simply treat those people as if they belong with the sweaty, unfun SWF group. Does getting a sweaty SWF suck? Yes, 100%. Will it ever get changed? Probably not. It's clear we aren't going to agree on this, so I'll probably just stop now. If I came across as rude, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to- When I get into arguments it turns off the part of my brain that's meant to be polite.
In your original post you came off as condensing and trolly. Which immisiately makes me want to dismiss what you are saying because theres a lot of trolls on these forums. No big deal its hard to tell over text how people are trying to come across.
I dont think that statistic takes into account most dedicated survivor players. Theres a bunch of games where half of the poeple dont get past the tutorial. That also doesnt take into account killer mains or people who tried it and then quit.
The swfs I am referring to are inevitably going to be in the high mmr. Those "playing for fun swfs" are still swfs and just displaying whos in one or not will hardly impact their game. I will only dodge swfs if i have played against a handfull of sweaty teams. Otherwise i will play against them. So the people on the lower end of the spectrum will se more killers because there will be more killers there. If those sweaty swfs want to play like that then they can wait a bit for a killer who is equally as sweaty. I see no issue with this logic
Whether or not behavior does something about it or not is a whole different thing, but if we dont speak up then they wont know we have issues with the game. Which i think is what part of these forums are for.

One of my friends has been playing this game for a while, and is...decent, but not great. Myself and another friend recently (within the past month and a half) joined him and started playing as well. We play together a lot, a 3-person SWF. We suck. We regularly get 4K'd. We honestly do TRY, but we're just not good. We try to get better, and we try to do objectives and help each other, and try to pick perks that have SOME cohesion. But we still get wrecked by good to great killers.
And your attitude to us is, "######### you, you can wait in a 25 minute queue getting endlessly dodged until someone feels like dealing with a team of friends who wants to try."
That's kinda messed up.
You're putting words in my mouth. I never said ######### you to casual swfs. If i ever swf its with my friends who dont like to play the game anymore because its a sweatfest. So they suck and we play to have fun. There is no proof that que times will be that long if killers can see swfs, however there is also no evidence showing that they wont be. Thats why i suggested a minimum of testing it. They tested SBMM for a year surely they can test this. Someone else also stated something to the effect of lobby dodgeing penalties and i think that would be a smart way to lower the mmr of killers who dont want to be placed so high.

Because it's been five years, and SWF hasn't gotten any 'nerfs'? In fact, they literally made it easier to invite people to your own lobby? And they have literal SWF voice channels in their official Discord server? Why would they embrace it so much if they viewed it as a problem?
first off it is without a doubt an issue and they should do something about the imbalance of it. However I'm not even suggesting they "nerf" it. I just want to see whos in it. Optimistic me wants to think that the devs are afraid to do anything to it or its difficult to do anything to it. Thats why its taken so long. The skill gap difference between solo q and a swf is massive and time has made that worse.
How about you dont shame others for their interests and maybe I wouldnt be so abrasive in a conversation about that interest from the start.

I never said anything about comms or stretched res.
And yes, SWF's not getting to play the game because they dared to play with their friends is a punishment.
BHVR has no reason to test it if they don't view it as a problem. Which, judging by the fact that it's never been changed, they don't.
We dont know what the devs think. why would you assume you do? I am purposing a simple change. We don't know that this change will increase swf que times into oblivion theres no proof for it. So test it

I care about it because it's a game I've dedicated a lot of my time to. I want it to better to its audience, but in my opinion, that means more effort put into the actual game and optimization. I don't give a single ######### about balance. I'm not butthurt at all, actually. Like I already said, I am just genuinely confused.
In your original post, you say
"Show whos in swfs so im not constantly facing them."
So you want killers to be able to see who's in a survive with friends so you, and other players, can avoid them. This would punish them for using a feature that is in the game. Your original post is all about complaining about SWF and the fact that you have to play against them because a good portion of them are sweaty. And no, they aren't different. You're asking to see SWF which is a 'built in aspect' of the game. You can literally invite people from the Survivor lobby. SWF is just as built-in as Killers are.
I don't play in SWF, and the very rare times I do it's with one single friend, and we play it only to ######### around. I play Killer 65% of the time, and the other 35% is Solo queue.
I think they should lock Survivor items past a certain threshold, but that isn't at all involved in the conversation.
You're asking to be able to avoid survivor groups you don't want to play against.
I'm saying that if that happens, the inverse also has to happen- Survivors don't have to go against Killer's they don't want to. Both are terrible ideas.
Is there a portion of SWF's who break the game? Yes. Does that mean we punish everybody that uses the system? No. That's foolish.
Coms on swf is not built in the game. stretch res is not built into this game. It is not a punishment to wait longer and theres no reason that behavior can't test this. They tested sbmm for the past year

Gee this is the only game were paying with ones friends is an issue 🤣
Anyway it's not cheating sorry... Playing with your friends is a feature of the game. Until they say it's cheating, then I will believe you.
I said felt cheated not that they are cheating. They use outside coms, which is not a feature of the game, to give them an unfair advantage over killer and solo q survivor. It is unreal how many times i have to say this. I'm not advocating for them to do anything but let us know that we are facing it.

Ah, the classic, "You don't agree with me so you're a troll!" This is a public forum, I can comment on any discussion I want. You don't get to say where I am or am not welcome. I've been playing this game since 2018, clearly, I care about it.
I'm not trying to say you can't care about this, I just genuinely don't understand why you do. If you want to care about it, then you know, fine. I don't get it, but I'm not you.
The fact of the matter is BHVR has already shown they have no intentions of punishing people who are playing with their friends. They put the mechanic in the game a few months after it came out. They have literal voice channels in their own Discord server for SWF.
If Killer's get to see who's in an SWF so they can dodge any game that isn't the easily stompable Solo's, Survivors should see who the killer is. RIght? That's literally only fair. Unless, of course, you're extremely biased.
Why do you care about it? its just a videogame. Sounds like you're butthurt because I'm making sense and you dont like it so you have to act like you're above the conversation. Thats proven by you not understanding what im even talking about in the original post. I'm not even advocating for them to "punish people for playing with their friends" Which phrasing it like that is loading the argument about swf to be "not a big deal".
Who is biased? I think you are but only against this concept. Most likely because you play in swfs. I'm biased against swf yes. I play solo q and killer. Swf use outside coms to play this game giving them an unfair advantage over solo q and killer. What in any way is that the same as seeing what killer you are facing. Thats a built in aspect of the game. Two completely different things.
How about the survivors being able to switch last second to a key? they lock what killer you are why not lock survivor items? See how dumb that is? thats what aboutisms. Its the same as you suggesting the survivors see what killer they face.It has nothing to do with what is being said

The irony of complaining that nobody would go against Nurse/Spirit if survivors could see who the killer is while simultaneously advocating for the ability to know if you're against a SWF so you can dodge them...
it's not irony at all. Those are killers built into the game. A swf has coms and it gives a massive advantage over both killer and solo q survivors. People who dont want to deal with this shouldnt have to. Like I said to others I wouldnt always dodge nor is this about dodging. If i am beaten by a team and they are solo q I will be impressed if they are a swf I'll know why i was beaten or at least there was an aspect that was unfair against me.

How is it 'cheating', by the way? It's been in the game nearly since its inception.
I just genuinely don't understand why people get so pissy over a ######### videogame.

I always check their profiles. I am curious who i play against and how many hours they have. And if they are in a group. If i see they are some 500ish hours i usually play more chill as i would play against 6K hours swf.
And saying that i dont have a problem with swf indicates that i dont have a problem with survivors in general. Does not really matter if they are in the same team or not.
For sure they have an advantage if they have voice communication but that does not mean i will loose the game.
I also check profiles. But hours dont mean anything anymore. One of the teams i went against i thought were not one of these sweaty teams because of the hours. They had 100. They were smurfing and admitted it in post game.

@lemonsway said:
SWF has no place in a Ranked Playlist or as is now the case a Competitive MatchMaking system. SWF destroys MatchMaking.
That's like having Call of Duty pro teams in public Lobbies. Public lobbies have no chance. Public players are the lowest denominator in terms of skill, for every game. Having these people play against someone who is doing everything they can to play optimally and win makes no sense. Even when CoD puts Pubstompers vs actual Pros, the Pros win, because the mentality and preparation of Pros is not just playing, it's knowing every single detail that there is to know, about everything. Pubstompers are just above the Regular skill level but without turning Pros they can't compete against Pros.
Not every SWF in DbD is Pro/Comp but SWF compared to Solo is a world of difference, think about Builds. Builds from an SWF standpoint and a Solo standpoint are completly different and offer far more coverage in all aspects of the game. A Solo can try this but without knowing who they are playing with, what they are bringing and what they are doing as a match progresses it becomes really hard for a Solo to be as effective as they can.
The better each Solo is the better the survivor team gets, which is the point of MMR and the results speak for itself, MMR is helping SoloQ Survivors the most. However every SWF benefits from SoloQ help since each SWF member is also considered a Solo. SWF's benefit from everything a Solo benefits. 2 Man high MMR SWF is very likely to get 2 high MMR randoms, meaning those 2 randoms will know how to play the game. That boosts the SWF aswell.
The is heavily designed towards Survivors since it's the bigger and most vocal audience but BHVR has failed to keep Balance between what they need and what the game, more than killers, needs. Killers need help but simply buffing killers doesn't solve RNG problems, performance problems. Map design problems. Maps are heavily survivor sided but even so the maps are not fun to play, you're just abusing loops because you know you can. They need to focus on making the game better not 1 side better. Some killers need changes, that would be deemed nerfs, and some killers need really big buffs or full reworks to be interesting and fun to play.
I can give GF as example. He needs help, his reveal mechanic is the biggest weakness any killer has in the game. His 30 second Nightshroud cooldown wouldn't be a problem if he could stay in Nightshroud longer than 3 seconds... 32 meter radius of weakness is too much, especially for a stealth killer. He can even get out stealthed because survivors crouch more and can hide while having LOS on him. AS GF if you crouch behind something you only see what you're crouching behind until you lean. How is this killer fine as is and hasn't been changed yet?
I'm an idiot GF main, he sucks but the reason i play him is because he is the only killer with a gameplay that is my identity. Tell me a stealth game, i've played, i've been playing them since i was 7 and in DbD GF is the closest thing to a stealth killer. Pig isn't a stealth killer, she can't chase anyone while in stealth, she loses too much speed and visibility, Wraith isn't a stealth killer, a stealth killer doesn't anounce his presence before attacking and neither does a stealth character has to stop being stealthy to attack, the reason a stealth character is stealthy is because they can attack unanounced, and Myers definetly isn't a stealth killer, a guy whose power is standing there squinting at survivors at a height over 2 meters and the inability to hide whatsoever. Myers's stealth is Sractched Mirror on Lery's, Hawkins or Midwhich. GF is the only killer that is stealthy, he is mobile, as in he can move, his stealth doesn't mean being stationary and can attack from stealth and he can plan who to attack ( stalking isn't always possible yes but the concept is there, he can prep victims for an attack). As Mindgames go GF wins aswell, he has the ability to lose Red Stain and still attack unanouncedand crouch and he does this faster than everyone else.
What can GF do against SWF? absolutly nothing. It's riddiculous, as soon as 1 survivors knows where he is, everyone knows and that kills stealth and that makes revealing him that much easier since survivors can use 3rd person perspective and just reveal him easily from basicly anywhere before he can see them.
this has been boiling up for awhile huh? lol

I dont know, i dont have big issues with those SWFs. Most SWFs are not that great. If they are to good for you, the sbmm is actually doing you a favour and you should be glad it is coming (at the current form i dont see it working at all, but again, we can hope it will be sucessful at some point).
Just take it easy, take the loss and hope the system will rank you against less sweaty teams in the new furture.
How would you ever know? You don't know they are in a swf if they are bad. There is no evidence. The only thing i have to go off of is the solo survivor experience and my teams and my killer games are still just conjecture. However I would argue i have more evidence on my end then you do. Why claim the swfs that are playing for fun are not that good if you cant prove you are going against said swfs?
-
@Akito said:
You could add an swf/solo player icon to the match result screen after a game but doing it pre game would force the devs to enable the "lobby dodge"-penalty. Beside that, knowing it's a swf would create a bubble. Were only top tier killer would be fine with playing against them. I don't have to go further on. That's just not an option.
It's not an option for survivors to know which killer they go against and it's not an option for killers to know if they go against a swf or solo q.
I remember ranks being shown in the lobby and people were dodging increasingly often. Won't be thing, ever.
Whats wrong with those swfs going against the sweatier killers? Killers dont have a difinitive advantage over other killers like swf does over solo q. Knowing what killer it is a completely different thing. That will break the game. Because no one will go against nurse/spirit. Thats different then a team that has an unfair advantage over killer and solo q. There is no defending this. Whether they do it or not is another issue. At a minimum they should test it. They tested mmr for the past year they can test this too.

Welp, but those regular SWF teams are definitly beatable. I hope the MMR will work one day and everybody will be matched on his skill level. Then nobody wont have to worry about super sweaty teams if you are a chill player.
Even if those teams aren't a "comp team" they will try to play like them and a swf that trys to play sweaty at that level is at an unfair advantage. I'm beyond expecting this game to balance for them I just dont want to deal with them all the time. I feel like thats a small thing to ask

this is repeated argument trying to diminish the effectiveness of a swf. communication vs no communication is very noticeable at high level play. I am aware when i'm going against a swf. They know tricks im trying to pull after 1 time of using it when in solo q it would have worked more then once. They know my location at all times. Theres even a signifigant difference in gen times.

But that does't happen. Once a team is waiting for like 15-20min the new MMR, and the old system, widen the skill gap and after like 25 min throw in the next available killer no matter their skill. The devs have always considered queue times when coming up with their changes, not wanting to punish anyone in either role.
We have never seen what would happen if they did this, there is no way you would ever know that ques would be that long. At a minimum testing having it on would at least let us see what kind of environment it would bring. They've been testing mmr or sbmm for a year. they can test this too.
-
@JPLongstreet said:
The chief concern in showing a SWF in the lobby is them being dodged into oblivion, which is what you wish to do I think. Or worse yet their long af queue times get them matched with any killer available, often a rookie.
When they last put out stats (over 2rys ago now) it showed half of all survs in at least a two-man team. With how wonderful solo queue is these days there's no way the number of SWF hasn't grown since then.
So you're talking about most of the surv playerbase here is going to be put on blast and dodged repeatedly, far more than they likely are right now. Think through what you propose will do to the community.
I think they can suffer to wait until they find a killer that wants to deal with it. They are playing at a massive advantage already so they can wait for a sweaty killer to want to play with them. I will even face swfs from time to time willingly but the consistency that I'm seeing it during SBMM is dumb.

It's so funny people think it actually works. This is from the same studio that left clown bugged for a month straight after Nemesis was released and has put out some of the most broken chapters in gaming history.
Even Pinhead is bugged to F. Crashes the game regularly, and his lunge is so jacked he feels like a beta character sometimes. Not to mention him being potentially the weakest killer ever released but that's a whole different thread.
And you trust it to work as intended? Lol.

Are you new? SBMM should make it so that your teams skill level is around yours and the killer. After you get some wins under your belt you should get away from the potatoes.
I think you should just take a break from survivor. Even if you become a killer main then becoming really good with survivor will help you be a better killer.
I play every killer at a high level and i find variety keeps this game not boring for me. I dont understand people who only main 1. So 2 things I would consider when learning killer. 1 If you are wanting to eventually get everything or Aim for the most bloodpoints you're going to want BBQ and Chilly. It doubles your BP for the match if you hook every survivor. So Bubbas not a bad place to start. 2 You are best off learning how to mind game as an m1 killer because all killers benefit from you knowing how to play like that. With that in mind I think Wraith Trapper Myers doctor freddy legion or clown would help you learn that.
If you're looking to just have fun then watch gameplay of all killers and decide based off that. My personal favorites are Oni Doctor PyramidHead and Huntress.

You should play solo survivor sometime, especially with Pinhead. And I'm a console player, so it's funny to hear a PC player talk about poor optimization. I couldn't play earlier today, it was stormy where I live and I didn't want to get banned from this game if my power went out. Genuis.
i play exclusively killer and solo survivor. On PC I'm currently having issues with phead and thats it. Prior crashes seemed to be fixed since this update. Further proving it was poor optimization. idk anyone would buy this game on console considering the devs track record on optimization

What diagnoses have to done to confirm its not your software/hardware?
Have to talked with BHVR support about the crashes?

I have never ever seen this pop up for me when DBD crashes. Is this a PC-only thingy?
yup

@ArchAbhor I worked in an IT Store both as seller and repair man. There could be a myriad of problems and programs you have enabled that could cause such a crash. I'm sure @KhaineGB would love to help you troubleshoot the problem over in Technical Issues. But just because you threw a lot of money into a PC, does not mean whatever error happens is the developer of the Program's fault. That not how computers work.
The truth is name-calling just makes people less likely to want to take you seriously. It has nothing to do white knighting or that you are somehow exposing truth that we don't want to hear and that's why its offensive., this is just how a civilized society kind of has to act.
The Haddonfield rail exploit does not get you out of the map. its a minor issue honestly.
I work on pcs. Its a software issue not hardware, what you just said tells me you or your friend doesnt know what they are talking about. I'm willing to be proven wrong thats not what this is about, but i doubt you can since i have pretty good idea as to why they have these issues. I think people need to grow thicker skin. All of what i said was harmless. Derogatory, but harmless. If they cant take the bad with the good thats on them. It would be different if i JUST talked ######### but thats not what i did. I guess its more venting that caused the "namecalling" but still they can get over it

@ArchAbhor What makes you think the crashes are BHVR's fault? My game is running fine and I have not crashed for a long time.
Calling people names is uncalled for, rude and not productive. Don't go there.
Also I love Haddonfield as Killer and Survivor, so you barking up the wrong tree.
The reason those maps are turned off is because exploits were discovered on those maps and that has to be removed.
nah you dont seem to get it then. They are 100% on behaviors side. Otherwise whos side would it be? I've already stated that my pc is high end and can run the most recent AAA titles and that i go though periods where the game is fine and where the game is prone to crashing. This is 100% because of optimization case and point with the console issues. I will call whoever is at fault names because they need to wake up. This is unacceptable for a game as old as this. If they take offence then likely they know its true otherwise they shouldn't take offense. Get it? Stop white knighting for them they need to own up to their mistakes.
Also I threw them a bone. Like I said I love this game and these devs but that doesn't exclude them for criticism. These same people who i would call out on bs i will praise for fixing or doing the right thing.
I don't care about your like or dislike of the map. It still doesn't excuse the lack of tlc to the map and the imbalance to it. As far as exploits are concerned which are you talking about? Haddonfield has the dead hard over a rail exploit. Sounds like you are biased

Really? Most games I play do not account for crashes or internet down relative to just leaving. I mean, I would assume you could tell the difference, but literally every online game I have played treats them the same.
they have a screen dedicated to asking you to report the crash. What prompts that? If they can make that pop up when it crashes now you know how easy it is to train their dc system to know the difference

Im not hating on this because I use it alot as killer but I do want to point out that using this combo literally takes away from the pressure aspect. These perks do most of the work for you and allow you not to have to pressure gens and what not. I think that this combo should not be a thing and killer should (including myself) get bett at creating map pressure without the use of perks that do most of the work for us. this is my honest opinion.
its almost like the devs should consider changing the meta. To bad they are hacks when it comes to game design. I love them but these are facts

Again - you can think what you want, but just because you think it - doesn't make it reality. Your friend either couldn't be bothered to read the rules or knowingly broke them - reality. There is no discussion to be had since your original post was accusatory & inflammatory - without merit. You chastised the mods for enforcing the rules - but yes please continue to try to come across as someone trying to have a mature discussion.
Just because you perceived maliciousness does not warrant your accusations. A more level headed approach would have been to ask a simple "Why?" but you chose instead to degrade the mods for doing what they are supposed to do. You inferred they were being biased towards hackers which is not productive and overtly hostile to their character. That type of behavior is the epitome of petulant.
You are here to argue arnt you? lmao. You are correct this was asking why because from my original perspective it seemed like they were defending hackers, which is malicious. I got my why answered by others on here and that is that. Why you insist on trying to white knight so hard for the mods is bizarre to me lol

It really doesn't matter what you THINK - it is the rules. The rules which people agree to when they create their forum account. If you don't like the rules - don't click that you accept them - simple as that. There is a process to report in-game as well as create a support ticket - THAT is how you deal with...and get rid of.. hackers. Instead of acting like a petulant teenager - maybe people should just follow the rules?
if you don't want banned - don't break the rules - it's actually a very simple concept.
I'm bringing up a percived issue which originally seemed like a malicious treatment of members by mods. After said discussion we came to some conclusion. Which was the point of the discussion. I think calling people names because they want to discuss a serious issue is more like said petulant teenager.

The mods don't want witch hunts. Any salty player could come on these forums and accuse someone else of whatever, and that's not good. This game has a habit of making players very salty, and it'll go from accusing someone of being a dirty camper to being a dirty hacker in the blink of an eye.
There is an official way to report hackers: report them in-game and then file a support ticket. Support tickets are not public.

In most cases, before a forum member is permanently banned, they go through three other stages: 1. issued a warning, 2. put in those prison bars, 3. banned for a month. Pretty sure the forum member you're referring to has gone through all three, because I remember him being gone for a month.
Unfortunately, the way these forums work, you can be warned for breaking one rule three years ago and then get imprisoned tomorrow for breaking a different rule. There's no way to put your account back in good standing.
I think this is a good enough answer to the post even without the mods answering, the word of mouth thing. Ill add it to the topic.
