I really don't get the anger here, I would piss myself laughing if survivors did this to me, especially if I took lightborn. I've done similar as a duo where one brings a green key and one brings a green map. Would it be less "toxic" to just bring the ultra rare versions?

Rin-chan DOES move grass, you filthy survivor mains have doctored this footage, is there no level to which you creatures won't sink? Spirit is basically d-tier against actually good survivors you just have to run back and forth to bamboozle her with scratchmarks or hope she has her sound muted
LEAVE RIN ALONE

Enlighten me on how to make Spirit harder to play? I'm kinda interested in your idea(s).
Because from my pov, sounds are always breaking and scratch marks are unreliable. I can't see a way to make her more difficult.
That's the tricky part. Removing breathing audio and giving some other, more complicated way of tracking survivors maybe. Messing with her movement when phasing, maybe speeding her up but making her more difficult to control.

@MigrantTheGreat said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/248793/why-hasnt-the-spirit-been-nerfed-yet
Because theirs no way to nerf Spirit without defeating the purpose of her kit.
Everybody wants some kind of indication about when she's phasing, and that defeats the purpose of her kit.
Rather than focus on making her weaker they could try making her more difficult to play/learn, which would make her fit with the other strongest killers better

Sounds like you need to git gud

No. Survivor can bring whatever rarity key they like for whatever reason they see fit, including bringing a green key to bait out Franklin's.
Correct answer. Not only is it not toxic, it's extremely amusing
-
Here's a more interesting question - is it toxic to bring green keys to make the killer waste a slot on Franklin's?

To make Survivors happy. There's absolutely no logic behind it, so it has to be because the other side of the 4V1 equation yelled loud enough.
If you'd polled all survivors at the time and ask who they'd like gutted out of Billy, Freddy and Spirit I'm pretty sure Billy would be the bottom pick. Also bhvr doesn't require logic behind their decisions, they have statistics.
-
Well he needed a punishment for missing chainsaws even though he already had one, and rank 20 survivors went down instantly to every chainsaw which they still do
Most importantly Billy was missing the most fun aspects of killer gameplay, i.e. micromanagement and m1ing
-
DS is actually better as a guaranteed endgame escape perk because people won't waste it earlier by trying to get grabbed off a gen or something
Which was obnoxious but never the best use for it honestly
-
Tapping a gen when I knew the killer had dragon's grip as a "distraction" which just ended up with me being instadowned. Then doing the same thing again for the same reason with the same result
-
Does OTR have the same effect?

Yes it's cheating. You can call it an aid, a QOL improvement, training wheels, whatever, it's still an advantage. If it weren't, then don't use it. Have it be an addon, or an option in game and this isn't even an issue because then EVERYONE will have access to it. And please, with the tape rationale.
Anything that isn't in the game that gives you an advantage over other players that don't or can't do it, like using nVidia filters, changing resolution, unlocking your refresh rate, etc, is cheating. It's just that BHVR hasn't come out and said they'll actively go out and ban for it, so what does it matter except to trigger people.
Maybe it's the word "cheat" that people don't like that they feel they need to defend it. I don't think anyone would disagree that it's an "advantage" tho. Soft word alert.
If by avoiding cheating we need to avoid having an advantage over all other players those on pc should only use controllers and cap our FPS at 20 in case we go against a switch player on lerys if we're keeping crossplay on

As a Plague main, I'm thrilled running into so many Vommy Mommies in the wild. It used to feel like finding a shiny Pokemon when you first poked around the map and heard the sound of running water. Fingers crossed that players will learn to stop worrying and love the vom.
(The hilarious thing is that I'm an emetophobe. Plague just doesn't bother me because, as you say, it's so overdone. Doesn't sound like actual retching; it's just silly. Plus I love being able to puke on a downed survivor for doing something annoying.)
A plague main with emetophobia is extremely funny tbh, glad it doesn't affect you
-
Sounds like the old Freddy days tbh, survivors did not appreciate losing to that
-
Like the others have said :p I'm a big plague fan so I'm enjoying seeing more of her* + playing even more of her

Thank you.
Have you actually faced the OP or are you just being strange?

This was intense. I generally agree tbh but will be copy/pasting it for steam comments too
-
Yeah I still see survivors get weird about moris. For balance I also had a salty wraith tell me to try and win without bringing a coldwind offering
(it was the day after the rework I wanted to see it)
-
Don't you touch her
-
They tried to put it in, it caused weird issues like huntress and oni not being able to get any hits regardless of ping, they couldn't figure out how to fix it, and it went the same way as console optimisation and whatever that early game mechanic was meant to be - i.e. they won't respond to questions about it
-
I'm sorry mate. If they are a full swf and gen focused and not really making mistakes I don't think there is much you can do, especially with demo.
If an automatic loss to teams like this when they come up isn't acceptable to you then you might have to play spirit forever just in case they turn up (spirit being the most realistic choice on console)
But that's boring. Once you're sure you've got one of those teams just dick around. Don't mindgame, follow their path completely including vaulting every window, go for only shred attacks even when they're impossible - they want to stomp you but they want you to have played to the best of your ability. F that, if you were playing chess and your opponent replaced half their pieces with queens before the match started would you take it seriously?

It's almost time to spread your wings and leave the bush for good :p

Or buff solos and killers, because people shouldn't be punished for wanting to play with their friends.
Tony has a very lose definition of "SWF" which is any survivor who outplays him at any time
-
@MadLordJack said:
DbD's design forces players to be as uninteractive as possible. Survivors rush gens with zero input from the killer (and with rather terrifying ease). Killers attempt to retaliate by playing killers with high mobility and an uninteractive chase (that decimates everyone but actual genrushers).
And people out there just play to win in a very casual game. If you find that fun, you do you, but... It really is a problem with the matchmaking that a seperated casual and ranked mode will not solve. At best, MMR will come out and only let the competitive players go against other competitive players. Because it's not fun to load into a trial and get steamrolled by players treating every trial of DbD like Siege. I'm sorry comp players, but that's just how it is. And I know many of you reading this don't do that, but too many do and see no problem with it. And I'm not saying this to target the people that play strong killers or in an efficient SWF, I'm saying this to the people that only do that and genuinely don't understand why the community doesn't like it.
Until they rework the core mechanics of this game, mostly gens but also map layouts and certain killer powers, "high-level" play is just going to be an extremely frustrating and uninteractive experience that the entire community is exposed to thanks to terrible matchmaking.
Siege is a good example of why ranked/casual wouldn't be the answer a lot of people think it would, people will sweat and smurf in casual and throw in ranked
-
If it's the keyboard part you dislike you could try controller left hand and mouse right, sounds weird I know but I like it sometimes
-
It's something that can't be avoided so they should just put an option for it so consolers can have access to it (they need it more anyway)
PC players can already mitigate a ton of weirder balance choices such as dark cosmetics on dark maps and footsteps and breathing being drowned out by chase music with no consequence

Because solo teams are so inherently underpowered that playing solo que, your goal isn't to escape, because such a goal is extremely unrealistic. Solo teams simply cannot co-ordinate no matter how good each individual is. Wanting to go against solo's is wanting to go against the weakest players in the game by default, players that the game isn't even balanced around any more.
I think you're selling solo teams a bit short, some level of coordination is often possible and sometimes you'll do it well enough the killer will refuse to believe you're anything but a 4-man. Ofc you'll often get put with other survivors who throw whether they know that's what they're doing or not
I'm not even completely convinced of comms being the all-deciding factor anymore, I've been duoing off-comms with a friend a lot recently and my escape rate has gone way up. Just having one person who'll do gens and not let you go to 2nd is a lot
-
It's fine to have an opinion on which side the game is balanced in favour of, if any. It's the constant "your side is easy and brainless" "your side is toxic and entitled" that's unproductive

This is a great point. Killers have been buffed constantly and survivors have been nerfed constantly.
If there is a shortage of killers it is because the role is too ez and not challenging. When the game was more fair killer queues were abysmal.
But it really is exaggerated because most of the time survivor queues are very instant and killers have to wait. It only changes at certain times of the day. It is a false rumor that killers are not wanting to play because it is too hard. Killers should stop saying that.
Mhm, if there's anything dbd players hate it's an easy win

Whos complaining about new OoO? Its useless.

The best is when you're playing survivor with less than 40 ping and you throw the pallet, the pallet drops completely, then the killer swings, then they get stunned, and then you get hit.
Bonus points if they then turn out to be several continents away. Completely off-topic but the devs haven't mentioned mich about Hit validation recently have they?
-
I normally try and slip past the killer and then go for a central gen or one near where they spawned

Nah it's a new survivor perk called "just apply pressure"
Causes 1/2/3 gens to repair themselves automatically

That's a really bad trio of perks. Like they're very good perks but not all three together

The goal of a rework should be to get ALL killers to an equal level of power, so why not make them all A-tier to give them a chance against these pesky SWF groups?
It would be nice if all killers could be at a similar power level, it'd make balancing things like perks a lot easier, but I don't know how that would even be possible. I.e. how could trapper and nurse ever come close to each other without changing their powers completely?
-
Doc is the obvious answer, apart from that there's been buffs to wraith (speed) plague (default fountain) trapper (resetting traps, still no bag default sadly) blight (height) clown (you might find it underwhelming but he's still better) demo (multiple things) trickster (still crap but again, better) edit: forgot leatherface that one speaks for itself
Some of these may not be game-changing but they've all been improved however slightly

Yes and also reminder that they are playing vs the other one every single 30 seconds in case we forgot. Not to mention some toxic ones but they were banned very fast.
Some people don't realize that not only Tru3 and Otz are basically friends, but also many of their followers and subs are shared in between them.
My strimer better than yours and other drama queen behaviour xD
Otz and tru3's followers do seem a bit culty at times. No offence to those two, it's not like they encourage it as far as I can see
-
@ShinobuSK said:
Tru3 is very good at survivor too, not just at killer.
Otz played trickster with no add ons on Badham. If all red ranked survivors in that match were on Tru3 level, no hooks would be even seen on that map.
Also this might be the last match we could see them play together since people in both chats were acting like crazy 13 year olds. No wonder streamers usually dodge other streamers in the lobby, what a cringe show
What was it like a "my streamer could beat up your streamer" thing?
-
I've never grabbed a red glyph as killer, is there an animation for it?
Edit: nvm just saw

The right move isn't always the same. It depends on how she plays, how many corrupted fountains she has, what your teammates are doing, the map, the location of the fountain you'd be using etc
-
Aww I had this idea earlier

I think it's a misprint and they meant to say "Corrupt Purge," not Vile Purge. I completed the challenge by injuring the survivors 6 times with Corrupt Purge.
Oh okay that makes sense bc I didn't get it on my first vile purge only run but my next survivors were all cleansers and it would've been a waste not to go big red

I will dodge every Bill Team.. as Survivor. They go down within 4 seconds, farm from every hook.
