I will say it's quite funny that we get prompted for the Labour of Love award when chapters releasing in November/December/January are notoriously the worst.
Like, 2020 we had A Binding of Kin. And after that, we were asked for Labour of Love. I think that's enough said.
2021 we had Portrait of a Flop, featuring one of the most universally hated killers (Artist), a very mediocre survivor with bad design and possibly the worst lore to date, and a map that nobody actually likes playing on, they just bring the offering because it's that damn strong.
And now, 2022, we have Forged in Flop. Featuring a killer who doesn't have a functional power half the time (and when it does work it doesn't matter because the only fun way to play him is to purposefully handicap yourself), a Survivor who has managed to divide the community based on BHVR's new marketing strategy of "Make him hot, and make him hotter" while completely ignoring their Survivor they released for the sixth anniversary of the game, and a map that's bugged to spawn every pallet under the sun while being a nightmare to track, well, anything on.
They really do have terrible timing.
I prefer "flopped in fog"

Pointless whataboutism.
It's like saying to someone that I don't like pineapple on pizza, and their response is "oh FINE okay but I guess eating pizza with anchovies on it is delicious and normal"
there's some thought pattern failure there, intentional or otherwise

You get a friend to run to your gen when they're about to go down and activate blastmine, they go down near the gen and as soon as the killer kicks it and eats the stun theyve already crawled under the killer and then I either stand inside the killer and tap the gen forcing the pickup on the survivor and get the save or I crouch on the opposite side of the gen and tap as soon as they're recovered from the stun and then get the flashlight save it's really not hard to pull off
Lmao that's insane, do you have any clips?
-
I remember how happy I was when I unlocked sprint burst on my nea so I could urban evade everywhere until the killer saw me and I could then zoom away. I was quite pleased with myself for having thought of this big-brain strategy.

As a fellow flashlight monkey I agree but it's because we've played the game so long that it's not fun to be serious 100% of the time and sometimes even if you get smacked it's fun to go for big plays, when you hit them it's epic lol I pulled off a blastmine CJ tech on a killer the other day and he sent me a friend request with big respect and we've been Swf'ng
Wait, how do you do that with blast mine?

Nurse games are mostly horrible.
So i would not expect people to be polite. And i guess every Nurse players knows this very well.
I've had many horrible games against nurse. And after the match I either say gg or nothing at all because I'm not an emotionally unstable child.
-
Grotesque how many people support this kind of behaviour for playing a character in a ######### game
-
I had high hopes for MMR but a combination of lowering the cap after complaints from the high MMR gang that they were basically having the same match over and over and prioritising queue times over all else means we're pretty much back to the same system as ranks - largely random.
-
They need to be more consistent about killer powers working near the hook. Doesn't make sense you can't put a dire crow within 10ft of a hook but you can with a hag trap.
It's particularly annoying with artist bc I just want to start shooting birds at whatever shows up on BBQ right away but I have to waddle off someplace else first. Meanwhile Lisa gets to set up a 10-course trap buffet all along the basement stairs.
-
I'm looking forward to them. The running around the corners of the map and the absurd use of lockers are a bit annoying but sometimes after work I just want to throw a few hatchets or whatever at things that will attempt to dodge them, and not disconnect if they go down too quickly or deface my steam wall afterwards.
Sometimes I'm tired and just want to throw things at other things and hear that satisfying thwack without signing up for some emotionally draining experience, and that's okay.
-
If that stays the best way to play him I don't think either side will appreciate it much, no
-
I do, but I just pronounce it like everyone else does
I guess it's the same as how I call flashlights "flashlights" even tho am a Brit irl so I call them "torches" outside of the dbd context

Why people run Eruption in the first place ? Because gen rushing is a BIG problem.
They have to fix Medkits and COH first
Okay so we can't get rid of locker saves until we nerf eruption and we can't nerf eruption until we nerf medkits, what's next in line?
-
Hmm. I wonder if taking slightly less precision means it'll feel slightly less satisfying. But I suppose I don't really mind.
In honour of this occasion I present one of my first and one of the stupidest saves I got
https://youtu.be/TQTCOAtDP8w -
They should never fix anything then, unless it's all done at once. Including things that aren't related to each other. Should've just left the game as it was in alpha and spent 5 years working on a megapatch.

There's also clips of people working on a gen for a few seconds before it gets blocked by corrupt intervention
Once I got about 1/4 gen done before it kicked in

I like pairing it with repressed alliance.

Urgh I'm too busy atm to play much but I kinda need that ridiculous weapon for my plague
(Which I'll probably equip once then take it off forever but still)
Maybe I'll ask my boss for time off for personal development.
-
Definitely the weirdest and most vague of the new SH announcements but I'm still shocked we're getting anything other than a new pachinko machine.
-
I'm still not over the 2nd RE chapter honestly
-
I don't understand the guacamole metaphor at all but it still amused me so thanks

So long and good luck, I hope you get things sorted :)

So using a filter to be able to see survivors easier when they are hiding is ok? Are you even sure that it's ok to use filters to give you an advantage in game? It all honestly may be a bannable offense by the DBD team, I would at least ask before using them.
They've confirmed before
-
Hmmm
Not every 8 seconds tho right?
-
Oh ffs, this achievement has been gaslighting me for so long - I have a pathetically low number when I've had a ton of trapped survivors before, but yeah I just hit them with my weapon.
The more you know
I also have the achievement on ps4 🤔 I guess I used to pick them up directly more often
-
What makes pentimento well-designed is it has to be run with non-slowdown perks to get value out of it.
It's a hefty slowdown but easily removable, from locations that survivors already know. There's worse to complain about imo

I think they'll be able to survive the sight of two words on a video game chat.
there's two words I'd put on your screen as well but I'm on my third strike 😉

Piece of #########. Hope you're okay.

Id probably swap BBQ for darkness revealed, can be pretty good on dredgey especially with LP
(bit map dependent tho)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a survivor DC or give up on hook when the survivors are winning. It makes no sense why they would. If it happens, maybe they have to quit/leave because something is happening offline.
I have, obviously not as much as when they're losing. But it'll be something like 2 gens left, killer has 3 hooks, survivor gets their first hook and immediately kills themself 🤷♂️
-
At this point I wish there was an option to just play on the "normal" maps. MacMillan, autohaven, crotus penn, even coldwind, swamp and red forest - anything but the new stuff
-
I say it sincerely, or politely. And will continue to do so.
-
Yeah, incapacitated duration needs brought back down.
-
It frustrates me personally because I can consistently hit greats as long as I'm not actively trying to
-
Ugh, they need to killswitch those
-
I'm a bit confused about the amount of people who think this situation (if it is how OP described it) is ambiguous. Survivors may do pretty weird things but what survivor will not use DH if they have it with the killer trailing directly behind them for 10 seconds? And then use dead hard once at a place of complete safety the instant the killer swings? There's no rational, innocent explanation for such behaviour.

I don't have much of an issue with it but it does make the nerfs to remember me and pig's endgame when they brought out EGC seem a bit incoherent.

"apparently everyone is playing dbd for fun, and yet there are more complains than players, the toxicity is high as hell, and we are just having FUN, i wanna know the definition of fun in this game, and for people saying im having fun, WOULD U RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO FRIEND?"
Well yeah what else would I play it for? There's plenty of complaints that are just plain stupid and will be in any PvP game, there's plenty of valid complaints because there's plenty of things that could make the game better that are ignored or dealt with at a glacial pace. No I generally don't recommend it to friends because it's a pretty hostile game towards new players and not everyone has the energy or patience to deal with the playerbase this game has either.

Photosensitive people should consult with their doctors and find out if they can or shouldn't play video games,,changing game for a minority of people just doesn't make sense,,,and to be fair puttin a cooldown on beamrs may also take away your ability to correct a flashlight save timing you started early
So the username, it's kind of a roleplay thing?

Patch notes come out for the PTB on the same day as the PTB itself - they're never released early.
Is there actually going to be a mid-chapter patch? Unless I'm mistaken it seems we're only going to be testing a feature that isn't coming for a while.
if there actually are new features or some killer/perk changes it would be nice to let us know and get some hype going...
-
By all means make ruin basekit, I'd ignore the totem to prevent any use of eruption, overcharge or call of brine, all of which are far more oppressive than ruin is.
(Side note: never thought I'd see the day where I say ruin is nothing compared to overcharge, times do change)
-
No real difference from before if you're close enough to a window or pallet.
I have no objection to it working with smash hit though.

It still takes time for survivors to pick themselves up. That's still beneficial to the killer if they're slugging intelligently. It's wildly inefficient for a team to leave someone on the ground for 45 seconds, and no survivor perk has a higher than 20% usage rate (or something like that) now. People have created this scenario in their mind where slugging will somehow happen often enough that survivors are going to run Unbreakable en masse for 22.5 second pickups. It's not rooted in reality IMO
Yeah like people assumed the basekit BT would lead to more people running actual BT just to strengthen effects that are already there. I don't see unbreakable becoming more popular.

*Walks up behind you and smacks you with a comically oversized fresh fish*
No....just No....Mrs Piggy doesn't need any more needless nerfs. Poor Piggy she's getting close to have Freddy Nerfs....and no Killer needs those KIND of Nerfs.
Not to worry, although Mandy will undoubtedly be getting another slap with the nerf bat they'll compensate for it by buffing some of blight's addons. And thus balance is restored to the fog.
-
1) Slugging is sometimes necessary to win. Regularly slugging survivors for more than 45 seconds at a time being necessary is debatable.
2) Anything that can be abused will be abused mercilessly on the ptb, just like we did for stacked endurance
But I will say if this does go through they really got to nerf boil over. Maybe consider not having hooks permanently destroyed either.
-
Horrible survivor decision making. Like not touching a gen the entire match until all three others are incapacitated in some way, and then starting your first one. Or all three survivors bodyblocking while you're being carried although the hook is a metre away.
There's doing something dumb (I'm no stranger to that) and then there's consistently doing the opposite of whatever the right play would be.
-
45 mins should be max imo
How would a minimum timer work?
-
Sorry for tag but you're already here @Peanits
Is it not possible for the server to be made to automatically detect things that shouldn't be able to happen?
I.e. survivor is detected moving at 102% speed, checked against perks/situations that could cause that speed (just dark theory I think?) automatically flagged if it doesn't make sense.
If such a thing we're possible it would surely shut down cheating pretty quickly, although I'm not the most tech-savvy person around
