Cheats will always be present, the VHS security issue was not about cheating, it was like the DbD security issue.

VHS won't be able to counter cheating if they do not have a good kernel 0 anticheat and they don't plan to use such anticheat. Their anticheat is a regular one so EAC or PB or VAC. Maybe they coded their own but i highly doubt it.

To make it short, there will be as many cheaters as in other games : Apex, DbD, Pubg etc...

Do not expect too much about them regarding the anti-cheat efficiency, they are a small company with small capabilities.

Cheating is something you need to be used to as it is and will be everywhere. It's a market with hundreds of millions of $ a year...

Companies would earn more without hackers in their game.

Everyone wants to play a game without hackers.

  • @JeanCharpentier said:

I understand the fact that cheaters are annoying, i agree with the fact that these days we see more cheaters than before but guys, is it not too much drama around this ?

I mean, last 4 days i have played 20 hours (half killer/half surv) and i haven't faced any cheater (i play on PC with crossplay). With my 2000h on DbD (started in 2017 though), i have faced maybe 10 blatant cheaters, others, if they exist, were really slight one as it was impossible to notice it.

I dunno if some of you have played R6S and Warzone but there were cheaters everywhere, in almost every games, it is not the case with DbD.

And be sure there will be the same amount of cheaters in VHS an Propnight already has many cheaters, even more than DbD (100 hours and already faced like 3 or 4 cheaters).

Lets see first,VHS took their time to fix their security issues.

  • @BaroneMaximus said:

Guys, i wanna start this thread by saying that i am not a killer main. I PREFER to play killer, but i play both sides equally.

After playing this game for roughly 3k hours i've managed to understand many things. One of the most unsettling and unfair of all is that survivor is way more enjoyable and chill than killer and it's not even a personal thing. As survivor: you have the chance to play with your friends, coop with them, chat with them and play "against the evil killer". With every upcoming chapter, you don't really have to learn anything new, your work is always "Shift+W", "hold m1", "press space" (Not trying to be offensive, it's just how it is). As killer: You can't relay on anyone but yourself to pull out something good out of the match. With every new killer there are killer powers/addons and perks to learn and try to comb or counter or play around. You are not chatting with anyone (apart in cases like streamers or discord streaming for friends, but i still believe it is not the same thing as playing with them in the same match). You are not cooperating with anyone, you are all alone to face 4 players with 4 different minds, 4 different skill levels, 4 (most of the times, but not always) different perks and many times similar, if not, equal outfits to create confusion. With all those things (and all the unbalances that RNG of this game brings) being killer and managing to have fun or at least enjoy your doing is veeeeery hard and keeping things chill is even harder, trust me.

With that being said, i am now here to share my idea to try and improve bad moods when playing dbd: Even though there is SBMM active and even though every game seems to be a race to be at the top of everything and everyone. Whenever there is a killer that is clearly struggling with the character, whenever there is a killer that even when chasing good and outplaying many times will still manage to have no kills "just" because he/she is not hard camping or hard tunneling and the map is very unfavourable. Think about dropping your item at the exit and running toward a hook and presenting a kill to the killer. This act of kindness could really toss a bucket of cold water onto the burning rage of someone that is literally just trying to have fun and enjoy the game when instead everything is working against him. This WILL NOT improve his game situation. he/she will still need to improve, but THIS could really turn a "i'm never gonna play again / i'm gonna camp and tunnel next game with mori and noed" into a "maybe i just need to play more and improve". I'm not saying that you HAVE TO give free kills every game just because someone can't even land an M1 or something extreme like that. I'm just saying that kindness goes a long way and can bring so much improvement to this game and community that has become waaaay too much toxic imo.

Ofc there is even the other side that can think about being kind in the same way: Whenever you see a survivor dcing, whenever you see a survivor that doesn't even look behind him, goes straight and drops every pallet (i call them cuties), whenever you have a match where you end up having like 6 hooks and 0 gens done, Think about giving the hatch or let them farm after they are all on death hook and let them escape. I've done this SOOO many times because killing someone for me is really meaningless. The only thing i care is chasing and outplaying the hell of those dirty clicky clickies that make my games juicier whenever i down them! (<3)

I hope that someone will like my ideas and start making this community and this game a healtier place!

Waiting for constructive responses, will totally ignore and report flame.

If you wanna see more kindness in this game it should start with BHVR,its their game after all.

The community just follow their behaviour.

Totally not a very serious problem that could impact Behavior far worse than us with them botting the servers to crash them, but it's fine.

I feel like this is a huge issue,if they cant fix it I wont be playing this game anymore.

  • I wont play this game anymore until they fix this circus,I will only start the game to collect rewards and redeem codes.

If they dont fix it soon i'll just move on to better games.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Yes, it's a straight up better Hex: Ruin

No its not, with ruin you dont have to kick gens and it forces survivors to look for the hex,its more reliable but its not better lol.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    75% Survivor 25% killer

Boons are not the issue imo. The 3 other boons (Shadowstep, Dark theory and exponential) are balanced because they require the killer to be close by to get their effects. This means there is a risk/reward since the killer is always close enough to snuff them in maximum 15 seconds. COH throws this out the window by being more effective the farther the killer is away

For example there’s no point in putting your exponential on the edge of the map but putting COH there is busted. COH goes against the balance philosophy of boons hence why it needs to be removed/reworked

I very much agree with this,I think the biggest Circle of Healing advantage is that its good when the killer is not around, unlike the other boons.

Increasing the time it takes to bless a boon by 2 seconds permanently everytime killer snuffs it out up to 4 times should make it more rewarding for killer when they actually take the time to get rid of them.

Maybe they should also make it so for each dull totem cleansed, the time to bless a totem is decreased by 2 seconds, but the time it takes cant go under 14 seconds.

  • Yes,I agree,Dead Hard can be used on command with no real downsides to deny a killer a hit, this is why its so overpowered unlicked other exhaustion perks.

Sprint Burst - You need to slow walk in order to preserve it.

Balanced Landing - You need to drop from a great height in order to use it.

Lithe - Need to vault a window of a pallet in order to use it.

Smash hit - Need to stun the killer in order to use it.

Overcome - Need to be hit and it instantly activates.

Adrenaline - Has condition for all gens to be complete and it instantly activate.

The difference betwen every other exhausting perk besides dead hard is that its not on demand.

Dead Hard is the only exhaustion perk with no real condition that you can use whenever you want.

Not only it makes you invincible, but it can also give you distance.

I think Dead Hard hurts survivors more than helps them because it stops them from getting better at the game when they can just rely on broken perks such as this.

Circle of Healing nerfed to the ground.

Outside of that we got no new survivor perk for years.

If anything was a little usefull, then killer main streamers demanded nerfs, and new perks or buffed ones never made it into the meta.

Anyone remember Lucky Break? How streamers cried and got it nerfed. Never used because the pitiful timer.

Boil Over? Nerfed to please the streamers, now only usable in a very specific map with swf on comms.

Parental guidance nerfed before the release, useless.

Circle of Healing? Gone, maybe swf can make it work with great effort.

Meanwhile killers getting meta perks with every release.

The game losing playerbase because survivors can't take it anymore the never ending nerfs, and infinite buffs for killers.

What I see less solo, and more SWF, game bleeding survivor playerbase.

The only way is fun for survivors being on the comms.

What's the use for new survivor perks if always be useless?

Just release 6 killer perk LOL, at least every perk will be meta. Only killers allowed to have fun.

Just wait and see after Dead Hard nerfed, what will happen with playerbase

So the only reason you're playing survivor its because they have overpowered perks?

    Talk about entitlement.

If you're not gonna play the game just because broken perks will be fixed then go play something else that will offer you an easy mode.

    @burt0r said:

I guess the definition of "useless" and "meta" differs from person to person.

Also what killer get is not something better but just the same in a different flavor.

What does the 20th gen perk help when they all do the same and even exclude each other's effect half or all the time. Also the killer still only has 4 perk slots.

Coh is now the same, just one of many heal perks but not above all of them in terms of effectivity. Unlike it did until now like for example dh that outshines still most other exhaustion perks.

It still is a team wide self-care aka worth 4 perks lots instead of just the one for normal self-care. It just switched the accessability for the user themselves and spreads it to everybody else and therefore had to be limited in range and setup time.

I still think coh is the best healing perk in the game

You have more and more competitors cropping up. Competitors who won’t make the same stupid mistakes- not balancing for the more faithful high leveled players and releasing updates riddled with bugs and sometimes game crashing oversights despite a literal testing period a month before release. Do you sense your end? I do.

I don’t want this game to end- I want you all to step up and do better. But you won’t unless given no alternative. Now, it seems, there are alternatives. Get your sht together BHVR, or lose your fan base. Hate and flame me all you want, but mark my words: it’s sink or swim now.

I absolutely love Midnight Ghost hunt, that game is soooooooooooooooo fun.

  • I'll give mine as well.

    50% Killer, 50% Survivor

Circle of Healing will still be used just as much because its still the best healing perk in the game.

I cant say for sure if its enough until the PTB comes to see if killers that suffered the most because of it stand a chance now.

As for the boons as a whole,I think the killer should be rewarded more for snuffing out a boon just like survivors are rewarded by destorying a hex by permanently removing it.

Maybe make it so a survivor will have the time required to bless a totem increased everytime a killer snuffs out a boon by 2 seconds permanently up to 4 times.Meaning the blessing will take from 14 seconds,up to 22 seconds to bless.

I think this is fair and rewards the killer for taking the time to snuff out a boon.

And this will also make survivors be more carefull where they place the boons now as they dont want the killer snuff them out too easily.

I agree,we need more Feng cosmetics, how dare BHVR give anyone else cosmetics, only Feng!

  • @Firellius said:

But it's not that it's getting nerfed. It's just the approach taken.

If there's one thing that DBD deserves to be commended for, it's the incredible complexity of its mechanics. DBD is comprised of a vast amount of component mechanics. From the big things like generators, hooks and exit switches to smaller components like survivors' breathing, footsteps and the red stain.

That's also what I want to highlight with CoH. Compared to its cousin perks like Desperate Measures and Botany Knowledge, CoH, as a boon, has way more cogs in its wheelhouse. Which is why it's disappointing to me that CoH is simply getting a heal speed nerf.

Addressing only the heal speed, I feel, is going to make this a herculean task that will probably be abandoned at some point. I suspect that CoH, with only heal speed adjustments, will continue to be either overpowered, or an unappealing pick next to its less complicated counterparts. With the competition it has, it's going to be difficult to find the right spot for it.

What I would suggest instead is looking at all the other cogs at play in CoH as a boon. There's a bless time, there's a radius restriction, there's the ability to replant or relocate it.

ALL of these could stand to be addressed as a means to find CoH its own spot. And not only would this give the developers more space to address CoH and finetune it with less direct competition from other healing perks, but it would also open up design space down the road for other boons.

What if, for example, CoH incurred a 90 second cooldown if it got snuffed? Or what if it reduced boon radius from 24 meters to 18 meters? What if it increased bless time from 14 seconds to 21? What if all of these parameter changes set a precedent for other boons, too? Work out a system where every boon's worst stat is considered when multiple boons are picked, to prevent complicated perk-stacking.

All of this would create space for the devs to come up with new ideas, possibly expanding options for boon effects, too.

Just slapping a -25% on the heal speed is comparatively uninspired and cheap, and doesn't do anything to expand on the possibilities of boons as a design element.

This, pretty much, while the Circle of Healing nerf is much needed,it doesn't get rid of the main issue that will still be present, which is the fact it will still be an overpowered meta perk that will allow your whole team to heal themselves and others 50% faster that stacks with other healing perks and items.

The only real way to change this is to either nerf Circle of Healing speed more or just add a penalty to boons, because 14 seconds to bless a totem infinitely aint it.

  • Its at least something but I agree it wont be enough until boons main issue is fixed, which is the fact they can be infinitely used with no real downside.

Also the fact there are some broken totem spawns survivors can abuse makes it even better.

Even if it was nerfed to take 32 seconds to self heal,it will still be better than self care.

  • Before I get called Sluzzy 2.0 i'll just leave this here

Self Care is going to make a come back. You're literally going to be able to heal yourself at the same speed as Self Care so why not just bring Self Care and skip the totem hunting? Like seriously. C'mon BHVR.

No it wont, coh is still so much better than self care, self care makes you heal at 50% speed, coh makes you heal 50% faster, there's a huge difference, also the fact everyone in your team can benefit from it and you can also heal others 50% faster.

  • If I see a Sadako once a day then its pretty good, once everyone gets bored of her, they realise she's weak and not worth playing.

  • @Config said:

Apparently it take 21.5 seconds to heal, not 32. It's a nerf on the circle of healing speed, not on the heal speed, it's not nerfing the 16 seconds, it's nerfing the 100% basically, so that's it, still a strong perk, +2 second to heal, that's it.

Of course its not dead, its still so much faster than self care, and everyone on your team can use it even if just 1 survivor has it.

I still think its the best boon of the bunch.

BHVR are nerfing perks based on how many people cry about it now? Whatever the rationale behind it, justified or unjustified, framing the announcement like that is just going to encourage more people crying about pretty much everything they deem unfair in the hope that if enough of them voice their opinions it'll change regardless.

If I hate playing against the pig because I think RNG based mechanics are utterly horrible, should I go to the forum and cry about it in order to get her nerfed? Apparently so.

Everybody stand by for an influx of "nerf X" threads from now on, more so than usual.

At least those people cry about things that make sense instead of crying why a perk like coh gets a well deserved nerf.

  • If people actually think coh is killed lol,its still so much better than self care and even if it wasn't,it was just 32 seconds to heals, still better than self care.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2877531#Comment_2877531

Its a 50% increased speed, not healing at half base speed

Self care is a 0.5 multiplier on healing speed, circle of healing also has its built in soon to be 50% increase to healing speed, meaning its not 32 seconds because 16/0.5 its 16/0.75 since you also have the bonus which is then affected by the multiplier for a 21 second heal.

Then its definetly better than self care.

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

Circle of Healing is getting a 2nd nerf! From 75% to 50%. Time for this Reaper to do the math!

    SELF-HEALS

This is more complex than some people might think due to how CoH is coded. You see, self-heals share identical coding with Self-Care, which explains why it even had the text "self-care" when it was originally released. So, you do get the 50% penalty, but it also benefits from CoH heal speed bonus to counter it.

    Original: 16

    Original with Mangled: 20

    Current: 18.29

    Current with Mangled: 22.5

    New: 21.3 seconds.

New with Mangled: 26.7 seconds (Hit and run killers rejoice)

    ALTRUISTIC/MEDKIT HEALS

Much easier to calculate since there's no 50% penalty to keep track of.

    Original: 8

    Original with Mangled: 10

    Current: 9.14

    Current with Mangled: 11.25

    New: 10.7

    New with Mangled: 13.3

Shouldn't it take 32 seconds for a survivor to heal at 50% speed?

With the COH nerf, expect Really Strong Medkits with Built to Last.

Survivors will move onto the next great thing. I hope not to see complaints about it.

That's ok,if that means they have to waste more than 1 perk slot to get their extra healing back i'm all for it.

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

Firstly Mclean had a really good idea in regards to how boons could work you kick a boon it blows up and reconstructs after 60 seconds the person who placed said boon had a cooldown of 60 seconds making the replacing the perk not as annoying because it is there's no reward for kicking a boon so why waste the time to do it. Boons should be OP or else they won't get used, but there has to be a fine balance and Mclean was right in that aspect.

Secondly, you aren't addressing what makes COH so insanely strong it's the fact it can stack with perks like Botany for stupidly fast healing speed your 50% is gonna do nothing if people stack botany with it you need to address why kicking boons are worthless, which Mclean understands now after rewatching scotts video, and you need to address healing speeds stacking once you address that the perk is fine.

The nerf is really nice but yeah, you need to waste a perk slot or more if you want to make coh to what it once was.

I also agree that there should be some sort of penalty so you cant infinitely bless totems with no real downside.

The ideea Mclean had was pretty good and i'm all for it to hopefully make it in the game one day.

Something needs to be done about boons being able to be infinitely lit up.

Exactly this. BHVR surprised me this week. First they are testing stuffs for making MMR better. Second they have pretty good Mid-Chapter, i loved all changes. And now CoH nerf.

Good job BHVR, really good job.

I agree, this has to be my favorite mid chapter update already and we didn't even get to see what else there's in store for us.

I hope this kind of changes will mean devs will also look at boons being able to be infinitely lit up with no sort of cooldown or penalty.

As many people say that the big problems wasn't just coh healing speed, but also the fact boons can be infinitely lit up with no sort of real downside.

But this is great,i'm really happy and the devs have my praise for finally listening the voices of killer players as well.

  • This is like a slightly better self care now that retains the advantages self care doesn't have.

Such as being aoe and allowing all survivors use it,heal others 50% faster while self care only lets you heal yourself at 50% speed.

I still think this perk will be used but i'm hoping this will be enough to break the healing meta and allow the killers that we're practically rendered useless because of this perk be viable again.

You can revert the nerf by just using botany knowledge, but that means you need to use 2 perk slots now.

I miss hit and run meta where killers weren't forced to tunnel and camp to get anything out of a game.

I truly believe sloppy butcher will be a staple perk for m1 killers, now healing will take so long it will slow the game just enough to allow weaker killers to apply enough pressure to outdone the healing.

He will get his rework,he is weak especially in the current healing meta, not that it affects him much but by the time you get enough stalk to get t3,2,3 gens pop,and even after you get it,survivors will just play stealthy until your t3 is gone.

The only strong Myers is the infinite t3 one.

  • I liked the map ambience honestly, one of my least favorite because a good killer and bad teammates meant certain death.

Now it may be because my MMR has changed but the amount of subtle and obvious cheating i am experiencing is going through the roof... to the point where it's getting unplayable.

Every other game i am now coming across individuals using perks simply not in their line up, people outrunning the killer (with no perk or temporary ability being in play). Instant/quick gens from 0-100 in seconds solo with no relevant perks or tools. Constant use of exhaustion perks back to back. Insta or quick revivals/heals with zero med packs, addons or perks in play... the list just goes on and on and on. It's seriously becoming more common to see cheating... than genuine skill or ability and i am quite frankly finding the constant reporting worthy of becoming a full time paid job (and have almost given up reporting).

    This needs addressing... fast.

Even more reasons not to play killer, this game is a cheating fiesta.

  • I want to see more water in the game, more swamps, like actual swamps not just a map called swamp, something like hillsides and not flat terrain, more creatures besides crows on the map.
