Now Steam Charts is reflecting the lowest loss.
Seems like Behavior is making good changes and making more people interested now; if they'd addressed the cheating bots the game would be in such a better place.

Keep in mind this is the month Sadako came out. The last 15 days of that 30 day average were boosted by people logging in for her and the related sales. The reason it’s still negative is it was running negative 5% or something for the first half of March.
I know just wanted to showcase Behavior is clearly doing something right for these numbers to be going up rather than down like everyone said.
Oh don't worry. Give it a month and the game will be dead if they don't stop the bot plague that is about to hit.
Bear in mind that the Steam charts never actually showed a gigantic loss overall to begin with- just the falloff from the all-time high of the Resident Evil chapter.
This is pretty expected.
Are they doing something right, or did they give away free daily bloodpoints and have codes that expired quickly to get people to log in daily and bump up the numbers, regardless of whether they played or not?
This is still reflecting the Sadako chapter so yes they've done something right it hasn't even gotten to the "bloodpoint giveaways" yet.
what bot plague?
hope it keeps getting better!
There is currently a Cheating AI bot service testing in Dead by Daylight they stole dbd Mobile's AI code and are abusing it to the fullest.
https://twitter.com/TricksOfShadows/status/1509624284099985425I don’t see this as a positive at all if I’m BHVR. Past new chapters came with a fairly significant boost of players, and there has been no such boost with the latest new chapter. That’s a bad, bad sign for the game.
That’s incorrect, there was a boost. The number of players actually increased from two weeks ago.
i just recorded a subtle cheater, i wouldn't know untill the end of the game. She flyhecked to a gen and had 2 gens insta popped.
And i cba to upload and give it to the devs. Its out of control and no point
So we hit a bottom, time to buy bunch!
A full boosted account gonna be millions as I already being 2k hours and still last stuff to tier 3
I hope they will fix or remove the SBMM. Then the playerbase will grow back as there will be more killers playing.
3 licensed chapters over the last year and the year over year growth is almost zero. Not exactly stellar. If the downward trend continues through the anniversary I'd say its more concerning.
Growth isn't everything, the kind of stability in player numbers this game shows is pretty decent. It could definitely be better, but it really gets on my nerves when people use the steam chart screenshots to imply the game is haemorrhaging players when that's categorically not what those numbers are showing.
thats interesting, obviously its going to be used for account selling. I'm genuinly curious if they are going to polish those bots or just slap them on accounts and call it a day. Unlike TF2 i dont see these bots performing well so they will most likely go on losing streaks to the point that nobody might even notice them. At least its going to perform better than the old AFK killer bots.
Dont worry, cheaters bots will make the playerbase take a nosedive again.
You're either completely delusional or a BHVR employee.
You clearly can't read %'s or your just someone looking for a reason to hate the game.
Sadako brought a lot of people back despite how overpowered she was. Surprised THAT many survivors could stomach her for a month.
