I think the devs did a pretty good job so far.

My opinion isn't any less valid than yours, I have just as many hours (probably more, tbh) playing both sides to R1. This isn't an "us vs them" issue. This is a fun issue.
The fundamental issue with Nurse is her base power, it offers unparalleled mobility at inconsequential cost and ignores the developers' own map design. Imagine creating maps and just saying f it, our maps suck so let's come out with a killer who ignores our map design. That's The Nurse. She doesn't play by survivor rules, by other killer rules, and not even by the developers' rules. And because of that last one - she's a design failure.
Line of sight, double backing, keeping distance, stealth, and the good old genrush. All tactics that work if the whole team is competent. The problem with many survivors nowadays is that they think looping is the only way.

I don't think you will get hate for mentioning some of the problems of the game. The bugs and weak performance are also the biggest fun killer for me. Some game mechanics might be annoying, the imbalance is a big problem, but bugs + performance are the biggest issue for me.
Concerning the grab bug: I can't remember who it was, but one of the mods replied here on the forums that this isn't a bug but caused by latency. But that can't be the reason because currently the killer is the one hosting the game. So we can assume that the devs aren't looking into the grab bug issue.
Its latency compensation most likely. Basically means that the client also some kind of control over the timing of the actions, and where they can override the host's input. Dbd evidently has it ingame for some actions, like window vaults and grabs.

Does using my blink ability to intercept survivors count as interesting?
-
It wouldnt make sense for the head to be bitten off. Look at Demogorgon's teeth. They are like needles. Designed for injuring prey by puncturing and causing rapid blood lose, not to bite off anything.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room.
A lot of people wanted a lighter gamer because killers couldn't find survivors in the shadows.
This is the main reason you aren't going to see the return to the old lighting.
I played during the times where lighting was darker, and I never had problems finding people. Thats because we had a functional sound system back then. I couldnt see that P3 Claudette in the bush, but I could hear her. Which was enough for me.
As killer I would gladly switch back to the darker game, it looked so much better, if we return to the better sound alongside with.
-
Scariest skin in the entire game.
-
Cheats with Friends.
-
I think you mean:
-
Why do people always ask for honour codes, or rules, or guidelines for killer, but no one ever asks that for survivors?
-
Thats RNG for you. Sometimes killers get screwed by having pallets spawned litterally everywhere, sometimes survivors get screwed by huge deadzones. Its how the game works.
-
I hate Ormond to the bone as killer, because scratchmarks are so hard to see there.
-
I actually play Spirit better with speakers than headphones. Speakers give me a more accurate location of the sounds than headphones could ever do. Downside is that my neighbours keep calling the police, because they hear horrible screaming at my house every night. It starts to get annoying.
-
Why I became a Nurse-main. I will never look back to the times where I tortured myself with M1-killers.
-
Natural human reaction. People are frustrated that someone disconnects prematurely. They wanna vent on the person disconnecting, but they cant anymore. So they vent on the next person available, which is the killer.
-
D-dad? Leatherface ... your dad?

It would definitely increase lobby dodging if a Killer sees the perks they dislike on the Survivors they're going to face.
Imagine seeing DS, and you hate DS so much? They'll most likely close the lobby...
Only the survivors see it, not the killer. That would nonsensical.

@StupidPallets I don't see this chapter release having the lasting impact they'd hope for. If like to think I fall into the average player demographic, and with the current match making I want enjoying it.
If a new player were to get matched up with purples and greens, they'd learn nothing besides this game is wack.
I can't speak for the survivor side of things how ever.
Turns out that pumping out new content, and cosmetics/skins like madmen isnt gonna make the game grow, if the core game is not fixed. Matchmaking, P2P, not balanced for all ranks, partially gamebreaking bugs, and frustrating and toxic playstyles both on killer and survivor are still the main thornes in making this game successful.
I seriously wonder when Behaviour is finally gonna realise that.

It's a side effect of some optimization changes. We're going to see what we can do. Ultimately, low is meant for people who can't run the game on higher settings, but we would ideally like to find a balance where it runs well while still looking decent.
Or, you know, you could give us some basic graphic settings, like texture, AA, shadows, hair, light, etc etc. Settings you have in every modern game nowadays, even competetive ones like Dbd. So everyone can customise according to their needs, preference, computer. That way I can have generally low settings, while still having decently looking hair.

GhostFace does not exist any more
He can t-bag, so he is a survivor clearly. Dont be silly.

That's sound occlusion It's in most games but in DBD it's pretty bad.
Normally an object should muffle sound a little but in this game it basically mutes the Gen/Survivor if they are behind a wall or object. Sounds always been a issue in this game, maybe one day we'll have it working properly but I doubt it.
We used to have a properly working sound system, but the devs ruined it more and more with every patch over the years.

Oh no, poor Rin is balding :(

I am unsure how I should feel about an "SS" tier. Maybe rename it to S+, to conform our friendly germanic friends.

they did her so dirty even on the default hair.. look closely, you can see right through to her head.
Thats just poor Rin balding :(
-
Clearly you have never seen a Nurse's 3-gens-strat.
-
Seems like a no-brainer to me. Its a subtle, but incredible useful feature for people who play both sides.
They should bring it back.

What abot this one?
Or this one?
(Not my usual loadout, btw, just memeing)

I suggest something better. Why do we need killers? Let survivors spawn without a killer. No challenge and no stress
Haha, implying survivor is challenging, or stressful.
-
I have just recently put Infectious Fright on my Nurse, because it fits my playstyle very well. I have never been safety-pipping so hard before. No efficient playstyle allowed :(
Isnt it funny how playing mercilesly is actually not considered merciless by the emblem system?
-
Its a pitty we got no summer event this year. I hope we will get another Halloween Blight event. I still got offerings stocked for it!
-
As killer, I wouldnt mind going back to the darker theme of the game, if they tweaked their sound occlusion to what it was before. I used to be able to hear that Blendette rustle the grass 2 trees to my side. Now I cant hear that anymore.

Demogorgon is getting a nerf, but for good reason; his shred attack, if spammed, was faster than walking. So far this is the only nerf I've heard.
Poor excuse from the devs. Billy, Spirit, Nurse all are able to traverse the map alot quicker with their power, than they are by just walking. I dont see a problem with Demogorgon being able to do the same.

It's called cheating actually. Using 3rd party programs to gain an advantage in the game. Worse are the players who edit the game textures and other graphical settings to make everything look simple, so everything sticks out like a sore thumb.
I mean, survivors use 3rd party programs like Discord to gain an unfair advantage, so I think its only fair.
-
Red ranks is why I became Nurse-main. Makes the game somewhat balanced.

I think I can help, and you'll laugh again and again, use that TO YOUR ADVANTAGE, check some No0b3 videos.
Run straight to the window, the killer knows he'll get the hit, and at the exact moment you were about to vault turn away from the window instead of vaulting it, the killer will miss the hit and then you can inmediatelly vault it leaving the killer with his/her/it's mouth wide open
Only works against green/yellow/brown rank killers.
-
They confirmed that they are in the process of reworking her add-ons. You just have to wait it out until they are done with that.
The reason why the add-ons are so unpolished is because they were never touched at all for over 3 years straight.

A crouching Michael Myers just isn't right
Oh cmon, Dead by Daylight is more of a comedy-game, than a horror-game for survivors once you left the brown ranks. I would love to have a crouching Michael. It would look so hilarious. Crouching Nurse? Crouching Clown? Crouching Hag would be kind of terrifying actually!
-
In general it would be nice if all killers were able to crouch. Would open up alot more mindgame possibilities, because you are not as tall anymore.

I can imagine you convincing yourself that you're seeing a scary face on a painting or something. You know it is and it was put there deliberately. Or is it you slowly going insane? Fun
I dont know what you mean by the going insane part.
What I mean is that if I am presented with a scary or dangerous situation (be it in a game, or real life) I start to weight as many possibilites as possible. Usually done by scouting the environment, and not the actual threat itself. Looking for things to fight back, looking for escape routes, looking for other individuals to help me, et cetera, et cetera. Like I said, I have made the unpleasant experience that tunnel vision, and 1-dimensionel solutions are usually too hasty, poorly worked out, and sometimes not even a viable solution to begin with. Just a natural defence mechanism I developed over time, because it worked out for me in most situations.
-
Usually when I am seriously scared, I start to look around. Trying to grab as many details as possible from the environment, because I am afraid of tunnel vision. This reaction of mine can backfire very hard, as you can imagine.
-
Fellow Nurse main.
Dont worry, we will get nerfed soon anyway :(

Thompsons House.
Gigantic in size, with the shack on one side, and the house with loads of really strong loops on the other side.

@Peanits said:
We've actually done a lot of these before: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/61114/
We tend not to do statistics very often. Even with undeniable statistics, you can only assume so much. There could be any number of variables in each match that affect the outcome, so best case scenario. If you try to account for those variables (e.g. excluding disconnects), you're going to end up skewing the stats.
But dont you guys balance the game around those statistics? Because evidently the game is balanced around the average player, not the best players, or the worst players. So if you guys use those statistics, why cant we see them too? Some of the better players in your community could help you interpret those statistics.
-
Nurse.
I like to be rewarded for my skill.
-
I dont know if this is relavant, but survivors also appear to be able to blind the killer out of the field of view. Like you get blinded by something you dont even look at to begin with.
-
16 moris is kind of cute.
-
I would prefer an actual event, not just another boring BP-event. We havent even got a summer event this year!
-
Esthetically superior map. Balance wise, possibly slightly killer-sided. One thing annoying about it, as survivor, is that generators are tricky to find sometimes.
-
The problem is that this system does not reliably detect actual camping from tactical defending the hook. Sometimes killers think there is someone near the hook, while in reality no one is nearby. They then search the area for no one. In that case the killer would get punished, just because they have got a wrong gut feeling.
