Windows has special colourfilters for your monitor. Along with several colourblindness filters, it also has a black-white filter.

Mate, if you lag in 9 out of 10 games, I can 100% assure you, its on your end, not on the killer's end.
When I play survivor, on my 8mbps WLAN connection, I lag in maybe 1/20th of my games maximum. Barely any killer has bad connection nowadays. The only ones who lag are on wireless, and physically too far away from their access point to prevent packet loss (other side of their house, usually with multiple rooms weakening the signal).
Taking a look at my data usage when hosting a match myself, the most I get is 48kbps download, and 16kbps upload. Dead by Daylight is really ######### lightweight when it comes down to the Internet requirements.

Isn't Susie being "pounded" by Jeff
Also I hate to be that guy but you do know Jeff is like in his mid to late 20s or older and Susie is like 15 or 16
Where is the problem?
Thats 100% legal where I live.

Oh look, another thread that looks at PEAK players, instead of AVERAGE players.
-
Thats the Nurse-nerf devs were talking about! Its already here!
-
This is not limited to crouching, by the way. Even when standing, all killer's camera are at their neck or even shoulder (Myers, Wraith, Trapper, other tall killers). The only exception I observed is Nurse.
This has the effect that killers cant look over objects, or loops they should be able to look over.

Well, there needs to be a way for survivors to escape a chase stealthily, if they want to. Right now, either the killer lets them go or they get chased until they can finally be hooked. Of course, you can try to stop running. But a decently thinking player will know you won't be far.
Its a 4v1, not a 1v1. By design, the killer is supposed to get you eventually.
But if they only focus on you, they will lose the game, unless you have braindead teammates.
-
So survivors now want to nerf a 2 perk-combo that has a 100% foolproof counter?
######### hell this community ...

Its in a weird situation. As of now, neither the stealth nor the aggressive playstyle can “counter the nurse” if they revert the change back there might be more chances in the stealth playstyle BUT it is still forcing people to bring certain perks only for her.
So survivors should not have to bring certain perks to counter a killer, but killers have to bring certain perks to counter certain mechanics? Perks like Ruin is pretty much a mandatory thing in high ranks. Perks like Enduring, or Spirit Fury are also perks you will see in ALOT of loadouts.
Survivors can ######### around with their perks (or bring no perks at all), but killers cant do the same. Survivors have alot more flexibility in their perkchoices, than killers (unless its Spirit, or Nurse).

Hush. If I cannot run MY perk build the killer is clearly OP? What should survivors do? Learn and adapt? *Laughing in Enduring and Spirit Fury on all m1 killers and maybe PGTW or Ruin*
Well, killers wanna run THEIR builds too. But because most builds are simply not viable at higher ranks, everyone needs to run Spirit Fury, Enduring, Ruin, BBQ, etc etc. Why should survivors have variabiliy in their builds, but killers not?

that's true, but I've seen people who is extremely good like pupper, no0b3, monto,... they all think that a god nurse is like no counterplay
You are not supposed to 1v1 the killer. Its a 4v1. One good person should not garuntee the win for the other 3. You need a good team to beat good killers
-
@Knayter said:
but for god nurse and spirit ...there is no counter
Thats because their skill vastly surpasses your skill. A skillful person should be rewarded for their skill.
-
Why do people enjoy her? Because when you play her, your skill can influence the outcome of the chase more than with any other killer. Survivors have no safezones on the map against you. You can strike everywhere. They need to fear you all over the map.
What does it take to be a decent Nurse? Practise, practise, practise, and even more practise. You can watch so called tutorials on YT all day, you still need to practise to master her.
-
"I’ve heard only addon changes which I mean if it gets rid of omega blink or cough five blink nurse then shouldn’t it be good? If they’re changing nurse entirely and nerfing her then devs don’t, just don’t pull another legion “buff.”"
Devs and a forum moderator confirmed that they will touch her base-power too. This is exactly what people are afraid off, because they fear another Legion-treatment.

I doubt that, I think bhvr has decided a policy of killer not being "frustrating" to survivors. Stephen said that yesterday.
When nurse is used correctly she is very strong and frustrating for anyone who wants to play chases.
And I understand BHVR like I understand survivors, they are both doing their interest. I did the same on f13 the game, I cried and cried and cried until Jason was a laughing stock.
It is a good and valid strategy, and that's why I said GG survivors
Thats what I dont understand. Why is the Nurse "unfun" in chases? She still has counterplay (without add-ons). Its just that most survivors fail to adapt to a killer. When I play Nurse, and find a survivor, what do most of them do? They run to a ######### loop. Wont even attempt to break line of sight, or juke anything. Just straight to a loop. Like sometimes I question if some survivors even think for a moment, or if they are just a computer that is programmed for hitting skill-checks and looping. Those are the kind of survivors that go to the forum and scream "Nerf Nurse". They want all variety in the game to be gone. Every killer to be countered the same, with loops.
-
Guys, do you not realise that no one is worried about the add-ons change. Those changes are justified. People are instead worried of the basekit change. The "mainly her add-ons" in the devs wording is what makes people scared, because devs have a long record of overrreacting with nerfs. Both on the killer (Legion, old Freedy) and survivor side (Mettle of Men).
-
Its just sad how all survivors can do nowadays is looping. They dont realise its not the only mechanic in the game. The Nurse's base speed is slower than survivor, so she needs her blinks to catch up. This alone implies that she is not supposed to be looped. You need to outwit her. Juke her, gain distance with line of sight blockers, and the like.
People who complain about her, because you "cant loose her once she found you". You do realise its 4v1? You are not supposed to be able to 1v1 the killer. It should be a constant rotation of hooks. Chase, hook, chase, hook, chase, hook, until either all gens are done, or the killer killed off everyone. All depending on how well everyone played. The Nurse is no different in that.
The only difference between the Nurse and everyone else is that you have no safezones against her. All loopable killers have places on the map where its physically impossible to catch any half decent survivor. Unmindgame-loops. Places where the skill of the killer litterally doesnt matter at all, unless you are the Nurse.
Both the killer and survivor's skill should matter in a chase at all times. This is what the Nurse offers.
Her basekit is fine. Her add-ons break her.

Bannable or not, If I'm forced to use a macro just to play a game normally it means that the game controls are poorly designed.
Just out of curiousity, how do you even play the game if wiggling hurts you?

I think its about the -1 pip when baby killer DC
As far as I know, its only a visual bug. You are not actually losing a pip.
Unless they ######### that up again? Havent played too much lately.
-
If you are reffering to you being dumped into a rank 13 lobby, then thats not intended. Its a consequence of the game being niche, and not having alot of players. Nothing really the developers can do, apart from allowing people from other regions (with high latency) joining into the same lobby.
-
You do realise that you dont need to crazy-ass smash the buttons, right? Twice a second is enough to keep wiggling. Same with struggling.
-
@Tursam said:
I don't see any word from bhvr specifically saying "nerf", for all we know it could be nerfing add-ons but buffing her base power so she's less reliant on them.
Just saying.
Nurse is not reliant on add-ons to begin with, so I dont see your point. She is the only killer that doesnt need add-ons to begin with.

Learn Hag, she has even more map pressure and control then Spirit has. Plus she can use one shot perks like Haunted Grounds, Make Your Choice to near silly levels of hilarit
Hag sounds fun, but she is too add-on dependent. She needs atleast one range add-on to be useful on most maps.

Thank you, as always, for your promptness in responding. :)
In my idea, maybe wrong, not seeing the auras of Jigsaw's Boxes means spending more time finding them, and therefore staying away from the gens for longer. If, on the contrary, as you suggest, the Rules Set No. 2 weakens the power of the Pig, why on earth is it an ultra rare add-on? XD What's its function, then?
It makes her stronger at green, yellow, and brown ranks, which are the ranks the game is being balanced for.
-
If they touch base-Nurse, I am gonna switch and become a Spirit-main. And I will use Prayer-Beads to their full advatage.
-
My best guess is that their programmers are too incompetent to find the piece in their spaghetti-code which is responsible for the bug. Just look at how long it took to fix tar-bottles for Trapper.
-
@Peanits said:
We can't guarantee that at least one killer will get changed with each mid-chapter. We do also need to make time for other changes like perk balancing and various other mechanic changes/additions. We'll see what we can do, though.
For the Pig specifically, I wouldn't want to see Rule Set No. 2 as part of the base kit (on a personal level). I use traps to slow the game down, making it not show auras until a generator is completed would encourage the exact opposite. People would want to do a generator so they can see the auras rather than taking their trap off before doing generators. I think it's better off as an add-on. If you want it, you can take it, but if you want to use the traps to slow, you're not forced to have it.
People already do that. No one cares about inactive traps. I see people with traps on their head on generators all the time.
Lorewise it would make more sense to make it basekit. In the movies people could get the key only when the trap was already ticking.
-
TL DR; You know you are dead when you are in green ranks and below.
-
I got called hacker 2 or 3 times as Nurse, because I managed to blink right on top of them with no line of sight. I mean, what do you expect if you are just running away in a straight line after completing a generator/unhooking?
Edit: Red/purple ranks btw.
-
People have arms. Killers included. Arms can reach through windows. Even more when you have a weapon. Hitting through windows makes 100% sense, and is intended that way.
-
You are not supposed to wiggle free. The wiggling feature's sole purpose is to force killer to hook you as soon as possible, and not just anywhere on the map (basement for example).
Its fine as it is.
-
I am all for changing her add-ons, but if they are gonna touch her base power, I am so out. She is just too much fun. And it just feels great that she is the only killer who you can use add-on less, AKA pretty much not invest any bloodpoints once you got your perks.
Survivors dont need add-ons, who do killers need them?
-
I think dodging is okay. You are opting out of a potentially unfun game before it even started.
I would rather have people dodge me, than disconnect halfaway through the match.
-
Honestly, I think punishing killers who unessecary camp is not the right solution. You need a system that reliably detects unessecary camping in the first place. And banning camping isnt a solution either, since camping afterall can be the best strategy in some matches. I think it would be better to reward the hooked survivor for the progress done while being hooked, similar to how you are now rewarded for it while being chased. Either in BP, or emblem points, or maybe both could work. That way being camped is less annoying.
Of course you can always get potato teams that stop any progress as soon as anyone gets hooked. But in those cases you would have lost the match even without camp.
-
I have reported people who send deathtreats in the postgame-chat, and they didnt get banned (they were still able to play the game days later). So your kind of harrassment must have been pretty bad, and repeately done.
I am sure you deserved your ban. Hope you are learnt your lesson the hard way.

It would just be nice, if we were able to pick our menu-music in the settings, instead of one being forced on us by the role or character selected.
-
So many good ideas in this thread, shame that most of them would quickly become OP in the hands of SWF.
-
I like to believe this is a bait, but knowing this community, I am unsure ...
-
Honestly, the best way to counter SWF on voicecomms, is by playing strong killers, like Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Billy, etc etc. They are strong against solos, but balanced against SWF. Its sad that we cant play our favourite killer at high ranks, only because they happen to fall short on the balancing, but thats the reality we live in. Devs creating a game around limited communication, and then introducing a mode that encourages full communication.
-
The only rule I follow is: Not using exploits.
As long as it is allowed by the developers, I will do it. No one cares about my fun, so why should I?
-
@Raptorrotas said:
While you are somewhat reasonable in your approach, you shouldnt get swept up in "main logic".
Nurse's "333%" doesnt last much longer than a second as a ~2 second blink would result in 26m range.
Also her ability consists of more than the "blink"
- Charge: slows her down to ~72% for X seconds
- Blink: ~333% for maximally barely 2 seconds
- Chain blink window for either ~38% when walking or 29% when charging next blink
- Second blink with reduced range
- Fatigue with 24% for 2-4 seconds depending on blink count. Dont forget the disorienting.
Im aware that i dont have the durations for her slowdowns.
One usage of her ability slows her down a lot.
Out of curiousity, where did you get those numbers from? As Nurse-main, I am highly interested in knowing more about Sally-bae.
-
You Dead Harded before he even began to swang. Like I said, the swing is longer and reaches further than Dead Hard, you need to react, not just blindly press it.
And "sliding to the side" is the killer simply moving sidewards while lunging.
All in all, I suggest to play some killer. To understand how Dead Hard looks on their screen.
