DBD Needs Public Statistics BIG TIME
When this game gets dedicated servers I certainly hope one of the things that develops from that is public statistics on aspects of this game EVERYONE should be clear about such as:
What is the win ratio at different ranks for different killers? Do we see it go down at higher ranks?
What is the win ratio at 2 man, 3 man and 4 man swf?
What % of games have some level of swf vs 4 man solo? Console/pc?
Average number of DCs per 100 games on console/pc?
Most used perks by killer? Average game length by killer? Avg Game length ruin vs no ruin.
% of EGC won with 1 survivor left.... How many games where insta heal used? Purple key?
This community really needs to know once and for all the objective facts about this game. I personally believe that we would finally get objective mathematical proof that solos are at a tremendous disadvantage compared to SWF, DCs ruin a huge percentage of games, high rank Nurse/Billy/Spirit have much higher win ratios and 4k games than others... and more. I'd be very interested to see how 4 man SWF compares to 4 man solo in terms of killer win ratio. Is 4 man SWF beating up on killers as much as we hear?
Anyone know if we will get these stats? Or if some of these stats exist already somewhere?
And yes, I realize that these stats cant account for actual skill of the player since all rank 1s aren't created equal but matching for rank / swf / console/pc would go a long way.
Comments
@Peanits we could use an update on the statistics.
We've actually done a lot of these before: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/61114/
We tend not to do statistics very often. Even with undeniable statistics, you can only assume so much. There could be any number of variables in each match that affect the outcome, so best case scenario. If you try to account for those variables (e.g. excluding disconnects), you're going to end up skewing the stats.
I would really like more statistics, maybe on the win rate of the maps
Btw. these statistics still contain the error of having an 80% survival rate at rank 1. This information has been there since May 2th and it's been referenced in this very forum by people actually believing it and using it to make a point.
Thanks. Those are helpful and interesting.
But dont you guys balance the game around those statistics? Because evidently the game is balanced around the average player, not the best players, or the worst players. So if you guys use those statistics, why cant we see them too? Some of the better players in your community could help you interpret those statistics.
We do not balance around statistics alone. Statistics might show us where a problem could be, but we do research and take feedback before doing changes. We can interpret stats on our own, though, we even have data analysts these days to help us out.
