I think the devs sometimes overdue it with the nerfs. The only thing that made nurse broken was omega blink. I think it would have been enough to remove only this and not to touch her base kit at all.
Same with Legion. The only problem was the moonwalk exploit. The only change that was needed was to stop the mending timer in the TR. Everything else was just too much imo.
I agree the developers overdid this one. Additional blinks, and range add-ons were the only broken things about Nurse. All they needed to do was remove/nerf/replace those. Nothing else.
But I am not surprised really. They love to overdo nerfs. Original Freddy, Legion rework, Mettle of Man, and now the Nurse.
They learned with Freddy after, but it took them a conserable amount of time. I wonder when they will fix the others.
-
I just hit ready as soon as I get the lobby, and do something else until we get into the actual match.
Sometimes I look up the names, and adjust my loadout if I happen to recognise a toxic one or 2.
Thats all really, I learned to stop caring about winning as killer. It just burns me out.
-
I have played 45 survivors matches in the last 2 days at rank 1-5 in EU, and I have seen only one Nurse. Instead I got 19 Spirits, most of which didn't have tier 3 perks, but were actually solid at mindgaming.
My guess is that Nurse-mains switched on to Spirit now.

I think it was pre-nerf, one of the reasons why this nerf was so overdone and ridiculous. The killer with one of the lowest kill rates got nerfed even more. I wonder what his actual kill rate is now...
Its kind of funny how killers are judged of their highest potential. While survivors are judged of their average. Nurse on average does pretty bad, due to her being so insanely difficult, but her skill ceiling is the highest you can get in this game. So her base power got nerfed into oblivion.
Survivors however can do near enough the same a god Nurse can do (given they are coordinated enough), however the developers do nothing againt them.

If you want to know how spaghetti the code, just remember that this game somehow grew to astonishing 28GB memory.
How is this game so big with such ugly graphics, and small maps? It makes no sense.

Well technically NOBODY owns the game because like many online games today it's a "Games as a Service" meaning you don't actually own the game, you are just paying for the privilege to play it while it's around. This isn't like Counterstrike 1.6 where you could host your own games without needing to bother anyone else.
This game will not work without BHVR in the background because it needs servers and matchmaking. You don't even have any saved games all the saved games are up there in BHVR's cloud.
NONE of us own the game. Only BHVR owns it, and we simply are given the privilege of playing it by paying for it, one way or another.
If BHVR goes under or decides to stop supporting the game, the game disappears and none of us can do anything about it, because we don't actually own the game.

They volume was increaseds, yes, but the sound occlusion was not touched. Meaning walls and corners of walls specifically still muffle 95% of the sound at times.

Hotfix : killer cannot injure multiple people during a chase.
Hotfix: Fixed an issue that allowed the killer to capitalise on survivors' mistake who grouped together, by injuring or downing them in a quick succession.

Stealth gets buffed with every patch they mess with sound in-game (with is pretty much every bigger update). I used to be able to hear that Blendette breathing on the other side of the Jungle Gym, but now I sometimes won't even hear her if she is right next to me.
-
Yep, me too. Either I completely demolish a team of noobs, who cause me to rank up incredible quickly, or I get demolished myself by deranking veterans. There is nothing inbetween for me.
-
Personally I find Spirit is fine, and is a good replacement for Nurse now.
-
Honestly, the only thing that bugs me about the game right now is that doing generators requires no skill. How many games did I have where I hooked survivors litterally every 30 seconds (15 seconds chase + 15 seconds, pickup, carry, hook, search for new survivor), but I still lost because the remaining 2 survivors I couldn't pressure at all did all generators in 4 minutes? I am dominating the survivors in every aspect, and they still win because they can hold down M1, and hit some piss easy skillchecks every now and then.
-
I am by no means a survivor-main, but I still voted, because I feel like that answer represents my feeling about playing killer. I play alot of killer, so I am always staying at fairly high ranks. But I can never play killer for too long, due it being so mentally demanding. Survivor however I could (and have done as experiement) play for 12 hours straight with just toilet breaks, and don't feel exhausted at all. I am litterally reading "The Martian" book right now as I play survivor. Even stealth killers have no scare factor, because of their audio cues (Myers' and Pig's breathing, Ghostface's cloak making noise in the wind for example). Its just so so much more chill and easy.

but campings just sooooo... boring.
So is sitting on generators, holding down M1 all day.

Yeah, they made some spots darker with the engine update, but without improving the sound. Going to make stealth even easier.

Why don't you try playing Civilization 5 instead?
I can't afford Civilisation 5. I spend all my money of Dbd DLCs, overpriced cosmetics, and battlepasses :(

I just really want to emphasize this.
They started out by stating THEY DIDN'T WANT THEM TO BE AS UNUSED AND MUSCLE MEMORY ALTERING AS THEY WERE.
And what did they do? Keep the exact same problems. They just shifted them around. It really gets me upset that they say stuff like this and then blatantly do the opposite 5 lines down.
They also delayed the update to get it out bug-free, and then released it with bugs anyway. They originally increased the stun for DS to 5 seconds to prevent Enduring countering it, and then remove the counter of Enduring anyway.
This is not the first time the developers contradict themselves, and will surely not be the last time.

He probably just has tried the garbage nurse.
I refuse to call it "The Nurse" from now on. A Nurse with a cooldown is not the Nurse, its somethign else.
-
In theory I would prefer killer much more. Lot more interesting gameplay, and I am more in control of the match than as a sole survivor. In practise however, I need to switch to survivor from time to time, because balance(TM).
-
Had the same ######### yesterday. One guy instantly disconnected after they got grabbed off a gen. Even with a 3v1 this poor Rank 11 had no chance versus 3 red rank survivor.
-
Unless you get hit as you throw down the pallet, there is no such a thing as wasted pallets. Maps feature just too many pallets, that you could ever realistically run out of them. Unless you have a team that is afraid to touch generators, of course. This is why brute-force killers such as Clown are so bad.
-
25% of the total 100% percent possible. For example if the generator is at 30% completion, and you kick it with Pop goes the Weasel, it goes down to 5% and then regresses like normal.
-
Well, this is terrifying.
I love it.
I want more.
-
Nope, I hear it too. I saw people describe it on the forum too. Also hear it on several streams as well.
You are not alone. Do not be afraid.
-
Definetely. I have seen killers throw the entire match just to watch that one Head-Oner die on the hook. Head On definetely replaced Decisive Strike as the ultimate trigger the killer perk, and most survivor who do that are fully aware of it.
-
@Mochan said:
I've actually never played in a 4-man DStrike game.
Of course I'm being disingenuous, because I almost never run Dstrike so it's nigh impossible for me to get a game like that as Survivor.
Its pretty common now. Before the DS rework, I usually saw like 1 or maybe 2 Decisive Strikes in my game. 90% of the times non-obsession DS never activated, due to hook spawns being so close. Often even not a single DS. After its rework, I get 4 Decisives like every second game now.
People don't seem to realise that DS indirectly got actually buffed, because its usage skyrocketed now that its advertised as "Anti-Tunnel-Perk".
-
As survivor: Moris. They are unfun, no matter how you look at it.
As killer: Survive with Friends. The plays you can pull off due to voicecomms coordination is cheating, no matter how you choose to look at it.
-
"Some things went wrong and we wouldn't feel comfortable putting the update out in the state it's in."
This is kind of funny considering they have brought updates in horrible horribles states before. They can't mess up any further with this one.
-
I can completely understand that things sometimes break. And that it can take a considerable amount of time to fix those broken things. Coding is a long and annoying process, and finding errors is even more annoying, I understand that.
The problem why people get annoyed is because Behaviour doesn't seem to learn from their mistakes, and most bugs could have been prevented from patches with a little bit of testing before release.
Take sound for example. Footsteps, grunts of pain, etc, etc. It has been broken over and over and over and over again by Behaviour, and everytime it has been included in the patches regardless, even though just a single test-match could have showed them that it was broken. In some instances where it was borderline gamebreaking, and seriously crippled killer-gameplay, it still hit the live version. After months it got fixed. Next patch broke it again. Rinse repeat. That ######### gets really on people's nerves for a good reason. Especially since it could have been preventable.
-
I used to play both sides equally, but got more and more into killer over the time. Survivor gameplay is just boring outside of chases.

You rather be banned you say?
Watch out because I can hear a mod grabbing their ban hammer XD
See it like it:
Imagine you love chocolate. You did something bad, and your only supplier of chocolate no longer gives you any chocolate for a given timeperiod.
Or they can choose to severely limit your daily dose of chocolate. Making it impossible for you to forget about it, and find replacements for chocolate, because you are still fed some of.
Depending on the magnitude of restriction, it can be actually worse than being stripped of it entirely, because you technically still have access to it, just not in the amount you desire to have.
Everyone who was addicted to something, be it a game, a drug, or people, and has thier access to it restricted will be able to relate to that.

It's not uncommon to do final testing on everything included in a patch.
I figure they happened upon stuff while going through the list of additions and changes.
Can't be the case. Behaviour is known for releasing patches with litterally gamebreaking bugs, that could have been avoided with just a tiny bit of internal testing before release.

How long will you test the dedicated servers?
40ms ping every game and it is just bad. Hitboxes out of this world, teleporting killers etc. every 2nd game. At least show a ping indicator for everyone to see, so it would be possible to figure out if it is a server problem or a "wow, this guy has 300ms ping, no wonder this feels so bad"-problem. Implementing 4 additional ping indicators would help.
Dedicated servers made it impossible to doge people with terrible connection.
Just a sidenote: I play dbd since middle of 2017. Two times I thought about stopping to play this game. The 2.6. build with the constant 3v1s and since the dedicated servers are live. I love this game and I think you are amazing devs, but dear BHVR: this is outright terrible.
I second this. A ping indicator (both in lobby and ingame) for every player connected like in litterally every other online game nowadays would be nice.
-
On many maps the cooldown won't change much, but on larger maps it will hurt her mobility alot. Also maps that have alot of LOS blockers, where blinking is needed to scout for survivor, she will get seriously hurt, because of her slow base movement speed.
-
Sound occlusion man, sound occlusion. Footsteps have never been the same after the Legion-update.

Yea. all these teleporting killers.
Nurse is not teleporting. Teleporting is instant. Nurse isnt moving instant. She is blinking. It has juking potential.

Where is this confirmed? Maybe you’re right, but I’m seeing a very noticeable difference.
If you play the game, you can litterally observe it yourself. No need to be confirmed.
-
Most likely because those nerfs are already set in stone. The developers just put too much effort into them (for Behaviour's standards) to revert them. If they decided to revert them, it would most likely take years for them to get to it, because you gotta keep pumping out DLCs somehow, am I right?
-
In my experience, generally when people bring Bloody Party Streamers (both killers and survivors), they tend to bring their strongest builds, and ensure that they themselves get loads of points, not caring about the other side. Either they ran out of Puddings or Cakes, or they do it for malicious intends, wanting to mock the other side, I dont know. Especially when SWF also burn a survivor-sided map offering ontop of it.
Either way it has been so consistent, that I am always cautious when I see BPS burned.
-
You must be new. The game is heavily killer sided at low ranks, but gets more and more survivor sided the higher you climb the ranks and therefor the more skillful survivors gets. Its generally agreed on by the community that survivors are the power role, especially with SWF in mind. Has always been, and will always be most likely.
-
I am usually gen jokey. If I see my team getting dominated, and I am confident in my looping/juking skills that day, I will throw myself to the killer and hope someone else takes my role as gen jokey.

Wanna know what takes no skill? Holding m1 to do generator. Go cleanse totems baby survivor.
But how do we genrush then??!!?
:(
Just pressure gens, you skillless killer-mains!
-
Usually only when I play a survivor who I have no medkits on.
-
I am being connected to Frankfurt, with 60-100ms, and I honestly don't feel much. Neither as survivor or killer. There is very very minor delay on my power, and survivors or traps or Nurses tend to shutter a bit after they have done something, but its really nothing game changing honestly.
The only thing that has changed that no one can ever accuse me of lagswitching anymore. Turns out its your Internet, not mine mister T.TV/ClickyClicky.
-
I agree that the add-on changes were needed, as some of them (range, and additional blinks) were just busted. And I agree that the base power should not have been touched.
Base-Nurse was an incredible skill-based power, and it gave plenty of counterplay to her. She is the ultimate punisher of mistakes from the survivors. If a Nurse snowballs and slugs the entire team, it was because the survivors decided to group together, despite knowing of the snowball potential of the Nurse.
Nurse also indirectly got nerfed with the newest map releases. Family Residence (loads of rocks which are tricky to blink around and offer LOS blockers, as well as grass to hide in), Ormond (large map with a tricky centre building, as well of snow and grass which misleads scratchmarks), Temple or Purgation (huge map with a confusing middle building), and Hawkings Laboratory (loads of LOS blockers as well as multiple floors, plus a shitton of ambience sounds which make tracking by hearing difficult).
-
Yeah, those servers are as bad as those from the PTB and the live-test. If they are gonna implement dedicated servers, they atleast should get some that can handle the load.
-
Her base power needed no adjusments, just her busted add-ons needed to be gone.
Devs overdid it... again just like Old Freddy, Legion, or Mettle of Man.
-
I don't see any reason why killers should not have an unique terroradius/chase music. The advantage of survivors hearing the terrorradius without knowing the killer at the start of the match is rather negligible, especially with SWF voicecomms in mind. It would actually slightly buff solo survivor, who desperaly need it anyway.
-
Nurse and Doctor. You have the chase potential of Nurse, but you completely nullify her greatest weakness, stealth.
Look for them in treatment mode, and then blink on their ass.
