You are not alone with this, and its not a platform specific thing.
Survivors sounds, and footsteps in particular (because they are the most subtle), always get broken into oblivion with every major engine update (which we got just recently), since the launch of Dead by Daylight. Generally this takes several weeks, sometimes even months for the developers to fix.
Though it never gets fixed to its original state, but just slightly worse than before, causing the sound quality to slowly deteriorate in since 2016, and continues to do so.

The problem is that sometimes your odds are reduced to 0% for both sides due to Exit Gate spawns.
I like the EGC, but the harsh truth is, the RNG aspect of it is getting really old, Peanits. ๐
Survivors shouldn't have to point at a hook when the Exit Gates spawn on the same wall, and killers shouldn't have to stand in a corner when the Exit Gates spawn light years away. I know I'm exaggerating this just a little bit, but I want both sides to have a around a 25%(Survivor)/75%(Killer) chance.
I just want a fair chance that's not swayed by luck too much, and I already read your mind: You're likely going to say this (Nick sees all).

What if I told you that there's a perfect, 100% flawless, solution that prevents all loop holes you mentioned above? ๐
Did I peeked your interest?
Just do this Peanits, literally the most simple solution in the world โ the only thing stopping you now is coding everything. There is no way the killer can see both Exit Gates, and it also prevents Exit Gates from spawning too far as well.

I just blew your mind away, didn't I? ๐๐ค
You overestimate the developers coding skills.
Remember that Tinkerer was changed, because the developers couldn't handle its own spaghetticode in it.

I'm pretty sure the devs have called it an anti-tunneling perk...
Thats because the devs don't know what "tunnelling" means. They tend to be out of touch with alot of things in their game.

then why does ds work after I've hooked someone else ? ๐ค๐ค
Because DS is anti-momentum, not anti-tunnelling. The "rework" didn't change that fact.
How does the killer dare get some momentum. How is that fun for the survivors!! Gotta stop them dead in the track!!

I don't care about the game being dark. All I want is a functioning and reliable sound system, like in the good old days. I might not be seeing that P3 Claudette being one with the bush, but I can hear her! Wait no, I can't hear her anymore!
-
Its a team game. Escaping is a team effort. Not escaping is a failure to do so. You are not supposed to 1v1 the killer. If you don't like the notion of relying on others, play killer.
-
Peanits said they are on it.

You must have never played against tournament-level nurses at red ranks.
You are right, I can put on P3 Claudette and urban evade around. Against a good nurse, you were going down if she saw you, no questions really. Maybe you can loop her for a tiny bit if you have dead hard or a really strong building right next to you.
Meanwhile, there is situatiosn where its physically impossible for the killer to get survivors, unless they are making a mistake and get greedy.
How dare we have a killer that can consistently counter that.

I've played a few Nurse games and she still feels really strong.Sure, you can't spam blinks anymore. However, the blinks still behave the same way they did before in every other aspect.
What is this "Blink spam" so many are talking about? Nurse is slower than survivors, she NEEDS to blink to move around the map, or catch up to survivors in a chase.
Its like saying every other killer is using the W key too much, and we need to add a cooldown to it, so they can't spam it.

Maybe they crush you, lol. I win the overwhelming majority of my killer games. I've seen streamers 4k 45 times in a row at rank 1 with perkless/addonless bubba.
L2P.
I wanna see said streamer 4 killing 45 times ina row at rank 1 perkless and addonless.
-
Give the devs a few months. That usually how long it takes them to fix sound issus concering killers.
-
Stealth is still strong, thanks to the sound occlusion system. Just get behind a wall, tree, tire, pile of trash, and muffle 90% of your sound. Easy evading.
-
A functioning sound system. The sound occlusion system we have right now is absolute dogshit.
-
As a Nurse main with thousands of hours once said: "Just git gud."
Yeah, no, not everyone has got the time for that.
-
Glad to hear that. Thanks for clarification.

Still being worked on and on the way. We just wanted to get these fixes out ASAP since they had a huge impact on the game.
Are you guys also working on the carrying music playing nonstop for killers?
-
Does this actually surprise you?
-
They didn't fix the infinite carrying-music bug for killers, so I am disappointed, though not surprised.
-
Sound issues, especially ones concering killer, usually take some months to fix.
-
Killers now have a permament Carrying-music playing, making stealth for survivor even easier, because you can hear them even less.
-
Has any of the developers ever confirmed that they developed a special language or script for the Entity?
Because knowing the lazy, and slow altitude of Behaviour, I can very well imagine that all of this is just nonsese glibberish, with no meaningful thought process at all.

There is one thing legion does better than plague: Letting survivors live
Legion is just a survivor with a weapon.
Wait, Kate has 2 pickaxes actually.
There is no reason to play Legion at this point.
-
Just loop them.
No one but Nurse, or Spirit can combat loops.

Since the patch, the bugs are insane. I've had a Doctor bug where I got stuck in Insanity 3 and couldn't remove it, killers able to use the force and down me despite being far enough away from vaulting a window, the basement bug, trapped in a fence. Does anyone in BHVR actually to QA testing anymore?
As far a I gathered, they do do QA testing. However they also made themselves a 3-months scedule for chapters, and nothing, not even gamebreaking bugs, stops them from sticking to that scedule. Because people will continue throwing money down their throats, no matter the amount of bugs.
-
A reliable sound system. I could hear blendettes just fine when they rustle the bush they became on with. Nowadays all I hear is chase music now.
-
Because the developers have their 3 months scedule for chapters. And history has shown that nothing, not even gamebreaking bugs, can stop them from sticking to those 3 months.
-
If survivos need a near enough blind player to stealth effectively, then they are just bad at hiding. Get good, survivors.
-
It doesn't state mending in its perk description, so it was unintended.
-
The sound system. Objects like walls being able to muffle 90%+ of the sound coming from the other site from certain directions or angles. When the game first came out it was visually a heaven for blendettes, but audiotory you could still hear them with good headsets. Audio tracking became worse and worse over the years.
-
As if queuing times weren't long enough already. A change like this would kill the game, due to lack of playerbase.
-
Cooldowns are an incredible lazy concept by the developers to "balance" things. Just look at how old killers, or perks near enough never have a cooldown to the effect. Nowadays however pretty much everything newly released is slapped on with a cooldown.
-
A functioning and reliable sound system like the one we had back in the day. Players (both killer and survivor) can STILL run right next to me, and make absolutely no noise at all sometimes. From certain angles walls can also completely muffle any sound from the other site. Its just getting tiresome how this isn't addressed at all by the developers.

I always wondered, if you throw down the pallet and you still get hit, but the killer is stunned, is that intentional or lag.
Its intentional. By design the killer is not stunned at the beginning of the animation, but when the pallet physically hits the killer (looks more or less right, depending on the size of the killer).
-
Whether a pallet is "wasted" or not solely depends on your team's capability to hold down M1 on generators.
If you and your team are not afraid to do generators, the only time a pallet is wasted when you get hit as you throw it down.
However if you team just crouches at the outskirts of the map, or does totems, chests, etc, then you are better off squeezing more time out of every pallet. Use windows whenever possible, loop the pallet multiple times, do bolt moves like baiting the pallet drop, et cetera, et cetera. Because you will need the limited ressources later on in the match.
-
Edit: Double post, please ignore.
-
As killer: Shadowborn. The default 87ยฐ field of view is just too depressing. Its a pity that I need to spend a perkslot, just to get a FOV that is acceptable for today's videogame standards.
As survivor: Windows of Opportunity. I am familiar with pallet and window spawns, but there is nothing more frustrating in a chase than running to a loop, only to see it has been used already.

The rift would be far easier to complete if the survivor queues weren't borked, I can play 2 - 3 killer matches in the time it takes me to do one survivor match.
I feel like the devs made the rift not anticipating this issue with queue times and subsequently anyone playing Survivor is getting much less XP while also driving more survivors over to playing killer which is also messing up queues a lot more.
If survivor queues are longer than killer queues then it means that more people are playing survivors than nessecary. A killer finding survivors faster than survivors finding a killer is a consequence of a higher survivors:killer ratio than 4:1.
-
On survivors, I have:
Kate P3 - My current main survivor.
Meg P3 - My former main survivor.
Claudette P3 - Just for memes of having the invisible Claudette.
On killers, I have:
P3 - Myers, Doctor, Spirit, Huntress, Pig, Ghostface - All killer I play quite alot.
P1 - Billy, and Wraith - Killers who I played first when I bought the game.
I plan on prestiging my Nurse too, but first I am dumping out my add-ons, and offerings first. Including but not limited to my 202 ebony moris >:)
-
She is still the strongest killer in the game.
However her skill floor got raised tredemiously, which makes her even more unattractive for new players now.
-
The anniversity saw for Nurse. For when you want to hit survivors with a flower attached to your weapon.
-
Nurse litterally has 2 gorgeous looking wedding dresses.
If that isn't date material, then I don't know anymore.
-
I don't think I know alot of survivors that miss the Nurse. Or maybe I just encounter the wrong ones. I don't get many that don't insult me in post-game-chat. Unless those are the ones that miss the Nurse. Turns out I am hella confused by this post.
I need an adult.
-
Honestly, I have been maining Nurse since almost a year now. I just fell in love with her extremely rewarding playstyle. Even post-rework she can be really fun, albeit alot more stressful at times. Plus I use her for farming, because I fill my BBQ stacks with her the quickest.
Though if I don't want to concentrate too much, I will usually play Ghostface, Pig, or Doctor. I might not be killing nearly as many survivors with those killers, but its fun nonetheless.
-
Play Kate if you want a pretty girl.
-
She is not bad. She is still the strongest killer in the game, because she bypasses survivors strongest and most reliable defence, loops. Very good Nurses still mop the floor even with sweaty 4man SWF.
However new Nurses and even average Nurses pre-rework now struggle at high ranks, because of how incredible punishing she is versus smart survivors. For new players there is no reason to pick up Nurse, and go through the hassle of learning her, when one can achieve pretty much the same with Spirit, but with 10 times less effort.
-
@terumisan said:
I mean when you think about it even if you run bop with legion you'll still probably lose since you aren't preventing anyone from doing gens
In the 4v1 aspect, Legion has always been kinda weak, even with Beast of Prey. Lower-midtier at best. However a Legion with Beast of Prey would put a timer on every chase, and completely remove any counterplay from it. Even a good Nurse or Spirit has counterplay in a chase.
-
Double pallets, while officially being patched out, can still very very rarely occur when the RNG generated too few tiles with pallet-spawns. There is a minimum cap for how few pallets can spawn. If that is about to be beaten, the game has no other choice than put multiple pallets at the same tile.
-
You can hear her scream in agony across the entire map.

For me killer queues are always instant now. As solo survivors, I always need to wait 1-2 minutes before getting into a lobby.
Which is extremely odd, since it always has been the other way around, with the exception of bloodpoint-events.
