  • I've done it before. Most recent example was when I was playing with a friend on Yamaoka Estate I had an inkling the Pig we were playing against was much lower rank than we were and I felt bad for her.

After the exit gates were powered and the Pig came up to the gates I beckoned her, walked over to a hook and pointed at it a few times to get the message across, and let her kill me. Because I know how much it sucks to play as killer and underperform, and a lot of the time the survivors are absolutely no mercy and BM the hell out of the killer when they work out they're not very good.

It's a shame the killers cannot taunt. The pig can teabag a little but she's got bad knees.

I thought nodding and hitting on the hook was the killer equivalent of teabagging

  • @BringBackOldBT said:

Taunting has been in literally every game ever, sometimes even encouraged, if you don't let it bother you it gets old and boring real quick for the taunter, but if every killermain and their parents have to cry about it on forums then yeah it's gonna become a thing.

Off topic but slightly curious, what was old BT?

  • @Eveline said:

Walk backwards towards the exit, that's what I do. Deny them the pleasure of seeing them. Or I fake being afk if I'm playing Myers, tap away from tier 3.

That's not a bad idea actually

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Dont get taunted. Really, it is just childish behavior, smack them out and go to the next game.

Simply stand above it, if they need it, fine, but if you get bothered by it, they have what they wanted.

Yeah thicker skin is probably what's needed. It just sucks because it's so unnecessary for them to act like that. Some people just enjoy making fun of other people I guess.

  • Extremely useful for Huntress locker reloads. Other than that, eh.
  • Narrowly avoiding death thanks to Adrenaline. I had a nurse that would've downed me for sure had adrenaline not gone off at the exact right moment.
  • I can tell you now a lot of people would quit playing if Ruin was made a non-hex perk, myself included. The killer bias in these forums is astounding sometimes.
  • WHY DO THE CROWS HAVE TO FLY AWAY FROM ME WHEN I JUST WANT TO STROKE ONE!!!!!!! Also WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT 21 DAYS FOR RESIDENT EVIL 2!!

    SO MUCH THIS
  • See, THIS would've actually been pretty cool imho. At the moment I find it hard to take Legion seriously, they just come across as little edgelords.

(The characters themselves, not the people who play Legion.)
  • Decisive Strike isn't overpowered
  • OP said the RBT was half done. Unless their team smashes the last 2 gens out ASAP, open and immediately escape out the exit gate (especially unlikely since OP said no SWF so they would have no way of letting them know the situation) AND assuming the Pig doesn't just tunnel them right off the Jigsaw Box and OP can find the hatch, saying "just get the hatch" is pretty useless advice.

How long exactly does it take a half done RBT to go off in contrast to the rest of the pre-requisites needed to get the hatch? If they got the trap slapped on them after the last gen popped then sure its viable to just try go for hatch, but in OP's scenario, it's not likely they will last long enough for the hatch to even be an option. So the Pig may as well have just facecamped for all the chance OP had of surviving.

The Pig blocking the jigsaw box might not be "exploiting" the game but either way it is an incredibly lame troll-ish move. Whoever was playing the Pig in that game obviously is not a very competent killer or a smart player.

Sorry, sometimes I forget how immature this community can be. I'll try remember it's all "for teh lulz" next time :)
  • Weird that it's taking so long.
  • I understand why they're holding off tbh, even though I enjoy bloodpoint events and wish it were a bit sooner. With the mystery boxes on the blood web being cheap and giving red items and addons, if they ran 2x bp for the whole Winter Solstice event we'd be swimming in ebony moris, iridiscent heads, skeleton keys, brand new parts and whatever else every game for months lol.
  • Hell yeah 4k with Huntress, well done! <3

Stop comparing these perks, because they are completely different.
Noed is balanced and DS is op crap.
Any survivor bringing up Noed in a DS debate is just trying to disguise the issues with DS.

To make this simple, no. Whether NOED is balanced is completely up to individual opinion. Same with DS. You think DS is "op crap" well guess what, a lot of people think that about NOED. Movement speed buff + oneshot = balanced, according to you, "op crap" according to others.

    If only I were joking...

TIL frosty eyes is a requirement for running NOED. Lmao

This almost feels like a response post to Monto's new Legion video lol. Blocking the staircase from the basement to wait out borrowed time is a valid tactic. It sucks when you're in that position as the survivors though I'll admit. But it's not a reportable offence imo.

I'd still consider it holding the game hostage, at what point does blocking the stairs go from a tactic to an exploit? 30 seconds, 10 minutes, 30 minutes or even an hour. If something has to be judged on a case by case basis then it should just be removed entirely.

I mean it's 20 seconds for BT, I'd consider any longer holding the game hostage. If they're just using it to wait out BT then I'd see it as just a tactic. The killer going afk at the top of the stairs is definitely holding the game hostage though. You're definitely right about the case by case basis thing, probably for the best if the staircase just gets widened to prevent body blocking entirely.

Me too, everyone keeps saying they look different but to me they always look the same lol I don't know why, I would never mistake kate for anyone else; she looks very feminine like feng min too but nea and meg look pretty much the same to me lmao it's really hard to tell why

So because Meg and Nea aren't "feminine" like Kate and Feng are according to you, you can't tell them apart? Lol, k. What a weird, pointless post this was.

Both DS and NOED are second chance perks that can be denied and I don't understand crying about one while defending the other. One grants a one-time free escape IF you can hit the skill check, while the other puts exposed on everyone IF dull totems aren't cleansed. Just accept them as features of the game and work around them, it's really not that hard.

DS and Noed are NOT "the same".
-Noed has a build in counter.
-The skillcheck is not a good argument for a better effect, because that is only a badly designe force multiplier; bad player who would need such 2nd chance perks, can't hit the check and those good player who are already powerful and hit the check every time are recieving to big of an advantage.
-DS changes the momentum of the game, early in the match, where the effect is much greater. If it denies early pressure on the team it is worth way more than something that only starts working at the endgame of the match.
-DS is not a "one time use" perk, because it is "one time" PER survivor taking it.

At what point did I say they were "the same"? I said they were both second chance perks that can be denied, which is true, whether the counter to the perk is built-in or not is irrelevant, that's not the point I was making with my post. DS and NOED aren't mirrors of one another, they both have their own nuances, and their own advantages/disadvantages.

"DS is not a one time use perk, because it is "one time" PER survivor taking it." Ergo, it's still one time use. Whether it's being used by one survivor or all of them is irrelevant. They can only use it one time and that's it. All you're doing is trudging up old arguments about this debate that I wasn't even trying to argue. I'm not arguing that NOED needs a nerf, or that DS needs a nerf, or that any of them are "TOO OP".

They are second chance perks that people need to work around instead of whining about. That's literally the entire point I was trying to make.

The scary thing is, if you wish cancer to enough of people, some of them will actually end up dying to cancer.

    Makes you think twice, huh

Wishing cancer on someone for beating you at a video game... makes sense. People who say things like that and other variations need to go outside more often I think.

  • Disabling messages from strangers on the PS4 was the best decision I ever made when it comes to playing this game.

  • Both DS and NOED are second chance perks that can be denied and I don't understand crying about one while defending the other. • Extra shards or bloodpoints after rank reset would be a pretty nice reward. Also since we're on the topic, getting a bonus of some kind for "devotion" levels would be good as well!

  • ... Meg and Nea look absolutely nothing alike tho? Not even their facial features are similar. Meg is a ginger with braids and sports themed skins and Nea has short dark shaved hair with punk outfits. I don't get how you could confuse one for the other especially in lobby screens and the cosmetic store.

I am expecting them to be paid cosmetics because Behavior sure loves milking their cattle.

Obviously they are going to be paid. A Killer coming with anything more than just a default outfit (not counting Prestige) is more than we ever normally get. The exception being Leatherface.

Also, I just wanna call it. Susie is going to be Auric Cells only because the community clearly favour her over the others.

Yeah, you can tell people love Susie the most.

How can we not? She's so cute!
  • I like Nea better.

    She has cooler threads.

+1 to Nea, love her, she's my favourite.

Anyway I'm neutral towards playing Claudette, she's an adorable little nerd in the lore but seems to be the go-to choice for most toxic players, which is a shame.
  • Time zones may play a factor, for example in Australia it's already the 11th, so the (maybe) release date for me is actually Wednesday the 12th.
  • Excited for Susie! <3
  • I think 2-3 weeks between PTB release and official release, given time for tweaking and certification. At least that's what I roughly remember the Spirit being? DLC should drop at the same time for PC and console but no confirmation one way or another yet.

We're going to find out some DbD stuff at the Game Awards in a few days so we might get an official release date then.

  • What about us non-humans? Don't we get a say in this?

    Hello

We think that Perks should mostly affect your M1 mode as a killer and not buff your power (to a certain extend at least)

Question: the Legion can't benefit from the exposed status effect on survivors while using their power, but the Nurse can. The Nurse is well known for being in absolute the strongest killer, and if there is one whose power is a "free hit" it's her. What's the logic behind this?
I can understand the potential to hit 4 survivors in one frenzy would make NOED and Devour Hope OP, but wouldn't be enought to add the condition that downing a survivor ends the frenzy?

    Hello

Our reasoning is because it's very much too easy to get a hit with the Legion power, compare to the Nurse. NOED with his power is simply the end of the game and felt very unfair.

I can undersrand if you don't want a killer on a similar level with the Nurse when using NOED or DH. Still, I find it strange that one of Legion perks gives the exposed status if he can't fully utilize it since they should not use their power and would just get looped until the effect expires thanks to the "lower" speed. I think the exposed effect should still do something.

Yeah I'm 100% against Legion's power working with any kind of instadown personally, NOED Haunted Ground Make Your Choice etc. It would just be massively unfair. But as I mentioned before, Nurse's should apply to mending, Enduring to frenzy stun, MAYBE bamboozle to pallets etc. because at the moment it just seems like a lot of perks don't synch up very nicely with Legion's power/playstyle and it's making them pretty underwhelming.

  • S Tier: Nurse, Billy

A Tier: Spirit, Clown, Huntress, Michael

B Tier: Doctor, Hag, Pig, Wraith

    C Tier: Trapper, Leatherface, Legion

    D Tier: Freddy

    Just my opinion!

  • A Resident Evil chapter could be pretty cool. Jill and Nemesis from RE3 maybe? Or Mia/Ethan and Jack Baker from RE7?

  • This post kinda sums up a problem I was having with Legion. I'm on console so I can't actually play them but watching others play, I struggled to think of an effective build for him/her outside of Monitor & Abuse. Would be great to use Nurse's Calling for mending or Enduring for quicker recovery from frenzy stun.

Hope they update the roster a bit if they do. I'd like to see Noob3, HybridPanda, and Monto in on it.

Same here, although I agree that Noob3 is unlikely to get cosmetics because of his bans but I'd definitely like to see Panda and Monto get cosmetics, they're the two main DbD youtubers I watch.

  • I'd be down for a permanent BP increase, or at least more frequent blood hunts. As it is at the moment, grinding is just painful especially with how bad the bloodwebs can be, leveling up feels like wasting my BP half the time.

  • I assumed that's where all the ugly sweater cosmetics are being implemented

  • Yeah no complaints about hatch times really. If the killer knows where it is it gives them an opportunity to prevent a hatch escape, though I'm not a big fan of the inevitable hatch standoffs that ensue after the 3rd person dies and the killer finds the hatch before the last survivor does. Personally I love how anxiety inducing those moments between the 3rd person dying and the hatch opening can be if you find it first. Do they know where the hatch is? Will they come straight over if they do? Will they make it? It's kinda fun.

  • If it ends up on the AU psn, then yeah I'll buy it.

Wait I can't get it I'm from the uk

Its not available for PS4 EU :|

It's not up on the Australian PSN either. Hopefully it'll be available for the rest of us soon, kinda sucks to get left out like this without being told how long "eventually" is. Eventually sometime today? Or eventually in the game's life time? Who knows?

  • I hope we can get a bloody prestige outfit for Susie or Joey and it's not just Frank and Jules. I absolutely love Susie and Joey's designs/masks but find Frank and Jules to be kinda generic looking.

On that note, does anybody know why Frank and Jules look kinda like stock models? Is the unmasked looks they have now official or are they just placeholders for PTB? If so it's weird that they made Frank and Jules really similar and bland but put a lot of effort into Susie and Joey's individuality, what with the braces and facepaint etc.

  • I don't mind this idea, could be kind of fun. I'd still prefer a 2v8 mode of some kind maybe but I understand it'd probably be unbalanced as hell and have so many potential issues.

  • I'd pick Legion or maybe Spirit, but since they aren't options, the Hag comes 3rd.

  • Definitely Adrenaline for me personally. It's so situational but when it works it can really save you big time.

  • Of the licensed survivors, definitely Laurie. I do wish Bill was on console though, I love Left 4 Dead.
