This Meg decided to do a totem in a closed up space while I was very close. I saw her and then body blocked her in to puke on her until she was fully infected and then downed her. She ended up DCing because of something that she did to cause her to die. Maybe you shouldn’t have given me that golden opportunity in the first place?

So to survivors, don’t let the Plague body block you in a corner because she can capitalize on it just as much as Billy and Bubba can. Also don’t DC because you made a stupid play. Body blocking is clearly part of the game rules and isn’t toxic.

If you get body blocked in a corner, you deserve to be downed.

That is a bugfix that they have made in this latest version (5.0.2).

Nemesis needs changes, buffs, but what they do is fix a bug that makes him unable to hit survivors in certain vaults and main buildings.

I understand it's a bug and needs to be fixed, but don't you plan to buff him in compensation?

Well, I see they are going to give him the same treatment as the Trickster.

Seems like you have trouble understanding what you read. That is not a nerf.

Scott Jund has a video where a survivor thinks he's being tunneled and camped. But from the killer's perspective, it's simple not true.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnvO825G5Sk

It's a match showing 2 perspectives: the killer, and the hooked survivor.

From the survivor's perspective, he feels like he is being tunneled out of the game. But it shows a different picture through the eyes of the killer played by Scott.

I think this mostly affects players that solely just play 1 side.

Of course there are killers that do tunnel and camp; I'm not denying that. But sometimes not all 'tunnel or 'camp' may be as it seems.

People simply have fragile egos attached to a piping system that has many glaring flaws. Also, the people that complain about being tunneled are almost never right. The queue times are short, go next. It doesnt happen in red ranks very often. If you are good at the game, you and your team can punish it, as well.

I'm sure there are plenty of posts about this, but I wanted to make my point and also just have a rant about it because I've really started to notice how genuinely terrible it has been as of lately.

I don't mind dying in this game, it adds variety to the matches, but I like to think that I at least had a chance in the game, or if my team were even able to do a generator. It's the core focus of the role of survivor. With solo queue it's not just a loss, it's a full blown dead at 5 gens less than 10k points kind of loss. With solo queue teammates it's a mixture of the inability to do a gen, the inability to have a good chase but also manage to use every single damn pallet on the map.

If I'm the one in chase and actually manage to loop the killer for a good while, it's unlikely my team will have even been doing a gen, and then they just leave me to die even if I am playing kindred because they're too busy walking to preserve their sprint burst, or searching a chest or cleansing a dull totem.

I try to brush it off and assume the next game will be better... but it never is. I don't ever recall actually escaping in solo queue unless I've escaped through hatch. When I try to do a gen, every teammate just seems unable to hold up a chase long enough, and then I have to go and get the unhook and leave my gen because I can see on kindred that my teammates aren't doing the objective nor are they going for the unhook.

Obviously the lack of communication is a massive issue with solo queue, but it's something I can handle if I can guarantee that my teammates are objective focused, and actually know how to loop a pallet.

Additionally, I can't attempt to carry chase all game because I play on an Xbox One, where I can't play dead hard to extend my chase because it doesn't work, and I can't guarantee that a frame drop won't kill me, and I'm also unable to greed a pallet as much as I would like to because of the genuine delay I experience from playing on an old gen console.

So take the combination of a lack of communication, weak teammates and a poorly optimised console (which of course is my own issue and not necessarily the case for everyone), and then solo queue becomes unplayable. I don't want to rely on swf every time I play this game but there's no motivation to play solo queue when every game is consistently terrible, even if the killer can be countered, teammates will always be the killer.

I have played solo queue 98% of my games for 5 years. It is not that bad. you are sensationalizing. Also you have plenty of options to find people to play with, you just arent putting forth effort.

  • @Ras110 said:

Today I depipped in a match where the killer was AFK, I did all the gens I could before they were all complete, same with cleansing totems, yet I still depipped. Definitely feels bad.

same goes for survivors that prolong the game and hide in lockers to deny downs. Just go next. dont tie your ego to a broken pip system.

I understand that most of the playerbase that play DbD are on PC but it would be really cool if they made an option of preference. Now we currently have crossplay on or off. But if we had a 3rd option console to console I swear that would be cool. PC players always have the advantage over console. They have the better controls, better everything. And on top of that they can stretch out their resolution to gain an unfair advantage over console killers. So I would like to see if they added a 3rd option to crossplay. Would be really cool imo.

This is a horrible and dumb idea.

  • No and 9/10 times players say tunneling and dont even know what they are talking about. they are just upset. If you stand near hooks and go for quick saves and get hooked twice early, that is not tunneling. Also it is a viable strat. There are several unfun strategies for both sides. Doesnt make it right or wrong. Super stealthy survivors who hide before or during endgame to deny downs or whatever are also griefing. Just have fun with it and dont worry about it when you have the occasional unfun game. Go next and just keep improving and having fun playing.

I think you’re confused. I made this post bc ppl are trying to tell ppl how they should play based on their playstyles. I use inner strength but that doesn’t mean I don’t know how good selfcare is. Too many time I wish I brought it instead of inner strength.

I am not confused. I literally echoed your sentiment. I stated: "People telling people how to play dbd is silly."

Perhaps you're misunderstandings of what I wrote cause you to be confused? Doesn't really matter.

Inner strength is decidedly worse than self care with the totem crush meta and has become much less reliable, late-game. It also forces you to be inefficient. Time spent finding and crushing totmes>self-care. I dont run either. I dont generally waste a slot on that, because I can transition tiles very effectively most of the time. There is merit to self-care, but there is more merit in efficiency, though I wouldnt tell people how to play, I can only offer math and my personal experience.

  • Overreaching statements are never a good idea. 95% of the time in low ranks it just encourages the wrong type of behavior. But if you suck at looping then sometimes you have no options, especially for solo queue.

self care can be very good in the hands of an experienced player. It should also only be used situationally if your goal is to escape.

People telling people how to play dbd is silly. This post is silly. People can play however they want. Who cares? Play with others or dont whine about solo queue. Waste of time.

If the servers were "poor" you would see more players complaining about it then you do. I have played online games that have trouble with a server and the outcry from the player base comes from a lot more of the player base than it is right now.

Reading the forums it would seem the major issues that were present following the release of the Resident Evil DLC seem for the most part to have been resolved.

The DC issue has gotten really out of hand. The ratio of people that disconnect when a match isn't going there way appears to be going up. The number of matches where at least two of the survivors disconnect as soon as the killer picks them has increased. Possibly because many of those who don't disconnect when a match isn't going their way have stopped playing increasing the chances of getting matched with those that do. To prevent any more from leaving hopefully they will reactivate the penalty soon.

    yes you are confused.

The only killers that have fake pallets are the Doctor and Freddie. But if a survivor interacts with a illusionary pallet, it just disappears, while with Freddie, you can actually drop it and easily lose a chase because of this, as it takes some time to actually drop it until you can run again. Meanwhile Freddie has no penalty with dream pallets. It would be cooler if he could get stunned by them for half the time a normal pallet would stun him. Then it would be much fairer in a chase again.

That is one of the dumbest things I have ever hears and would make dream pallets extremely weak and hurt the killer..... What a bad hot take. Also, why are you worried about dream pallets? That means that freddy has weaker addons.... smh

The issue is when the game is designed around a 4v1. Someone instantly turning it into a 3v1 over a minor inconvenience breaks the game. A 3v1 is just a complete thrashing and isn’t really fun for either side.

That is still an issue with the community. The fact is that people who struggle with the game or chases in particular, often throw the game out of frustration or bruised egos. They expect the killers to play without good builds or addons.... or to not play top tier killers, when the game clearly and overwhelmingly favors the survivors if they play well. The largest portion of the player base is mid level players and the fact that the killer community is much smaller than a 4 to 1 ratio means that I often get stuck with survivors who have 400 -600 hours in the game or are green ranks. I am sorry, but their chances are very slim to none, regardless of the killer I play or the build I use. Map knowledge and experience with the game and how to play and transition tiles far supersedes an arbitrary number rank.

As someone with 3k+ hours, it is obvious when a survivor makes less than optimal plays and I generally take it easier on them, as the more difficult survivors are more fun to chase, but often there are several overly altruistic or flashlight loving gamers that are extremely easy to exploit as they miss saves and hang around hooks.... then cry about being camped or tunneled or killers op after a game in which they walked to a killer and expect me to leave the hook, when I see them right behind a rock... instead I will down them and with two on hook a dc is often coming.

People have been killing themselves on hooks and DCing for years. Putting in a DC penalty will just cause those people to troll or kill themselves on hook. It is the people, not an arbitrary method that hurts the players that DC unintentionally, due to poor servers and game crashes.

The title says it all. The disconnects are getting out of control. Their have been times when I am the only survivor left because all the others disconnected as soon as they were picked up by the killer.

I play as killer and survivor and it is negatively impacting both sides.

DC penalties coming back really does not solve the problem. Who cares if people DC? I would agree that survivors should get a bigger bonus for being abandoned and killer should probably get 1000, just like a mori kill.

The simple fact is that people that DC will wait the 5 minutes. In some cases, they feel its faster to DC if you have survivors hiding not doing gens or killers slugging with 5 gens up...

It is a casual game and you should just learn to have fun with it. The community is the issue much more than a minor 5 minute dc penalty.

Can BHVR enable the rank visualization in the lobby again if there is no MM fix?

EDIT: Yes, I can see some Steam profiles and they are friends, also some twitch red ranks that are abusing this (I saw 2 in the last 7 days) shows the SWF lobby.

No, latency is when she swings then I run past her and get hit later, she swung after I was already way past her and I still got hit, that's hitboxes NOT latency.

You do not understand, programmatically, what you are saying.

It's one thing if she blind swings and hits me kind of near her, it's a completely different thing if she hits me standing on her side while swinging in front. Fix this game or get some programmers that can understand how hitboxes should work.

Youre confused. Hitboxes are a bit iffy in this game for sure, but what you are talking about is latency.

At high ranks at least, this should get a pretty reliable 3-4k every time.

The second you start to deviate from this list your chances of winning decrease substantially and you become a lot more vulnerable to SWFs and general gen rushing.

It’s weird because the easiest way to lose as Killer is creativity

You don't understand this game at a high level. Killer is only individually stronger. It is impossible for you to think survivors don't have the advantage if you have ever watched comp or high level tournaments.

killers please show some mercy for survivors who are let down by other dcing teammates.

No, just go next. It takes too long to wait for survivors to do stuff. ALSO, I am there to kill not wait and let you farm. Play hard and go next, or die fast.

survivors have been killing themselves on hook and throwing games since the beginning of time. this is no different. survivors don't have mercy on killers and shouldn't expect any. F is for trickster, he stays there.

    Well yeah.

I rate Wraith Low B tier. in terms of going against actual survivors,

It is arbitrary to throw letters out when talking about a random tier list... even top level players use the tier list system differently. C is pretty much universally trash tier... so B- is far too harsh. He is solid middle of the pack. Against low tier survivors he is as boring as slinger, because they cannot ever outplay it, so he looks far better.

If you can catch a survivor faster then 1 minute on walking killers I'm very happy for you

If you spend a minute, you are losing the game. On any killer. You should be downing survivors on average in about 30-40 seconds, sometimes faster.

  • @Verconissp said:

    Wraith is... weak?

I dunno how people can lose to wraith in this day and age..

for new people i understand but people generally should have an idea on how to loop properly.

Wraith against decent / good survivors is a automatic L even with his ultra rares,

He's fine the way he is. No nerfs needed,

new and bad players do not understand what they are doing or how to counter him. 85% of players in red ranks have some idea.... even if they cant do it consistently, but 1in5 or so can counter him for a bit. I personally rarely get hooked more than once by a wraith... and its not fast. so much counter to him. He is strong, sure, but he is not THAT strong, people are just lacking in skill or knowledge. Most gamers just run from tile to tile with hopes stuff is there.... its easy money for any killer facing people like that.

  • @thegamept2 said:

Now that the Trickster is buffed, playing survivor isn't fun anymore.

It is only an automatic L because you are not good at countering him. I am willing to bet, based on your exaggerations and poor spelling that your understanding of his play is lacking. You can easily counter wraith. You're whining and looking for easy killers to bully, that is sad. Put that energy into getting better. Learn how to judge his lunge and where to go when he is after you to counter his power.

Silly BHVR, maps don't open the hatch. You're thinking of keys!

It feels like another of those challenges designed to be MISERABLE for solo queue, but not too bad for SWF. Maps are pretty rare in the blood web, and you almost NEVER find them in chests. Then you have to HOPE your teammates actually leave once you make it to end game, and that you can find the hatch. Or you have to have a map, and then find a key, then leave the map at the hatch, and open the hatch with a key, grab the map, and jump through. And hope nobody takes your map.

it is not that hard. you just need good map knowledge. if you have that and find hatch its not a problem. Dominate a game then get hatch when people leave if you have to, or get a friend with a key.... regardless very easy

  • @StormLord07 said:

I'm a killer main but sometimes play in SWF and like all SWFs I play against we play with 4 or 2 "prove yourself" and the time it takes to finish gen is well... a little too short. And what I mean by that is:

According to wiki time to fully repair generator is 80 seconds which is devided by amount of survivors repairing. So time taken to fully repair gen is 80/40/~26.(6)/20 seconds

Given that 1 survior is being chased all the time lets calculate time it takes to repair gens with "prove yourself" (1/2/3 survivors) is (80/~34.7/~20.5) if all 4 are busy repairing gen at the start time is decreased to ~13.7 seconds lets say that from the start it takes approximately 10 seconds to find a good generator.

Now lets talk about time it takes to knock down a survior. The best result you can have on walking killer is around 30-40 seconds which is enough to fully finish one more but most chases lasts around 90 seconds and magically 2 more gens pop up and the killer is left with a choise to cemp/tunnel or do some other junky plays or to let survivor unhook and run for another minute for the one that unhooked because tunneling is bad and be left with 2 hooks at the best.

    Formula for a time calculation is 100 / (100 / 80 × (1,15 + n × 0,15) × n) where n is amount of survivors

Write down your thoughts on this or point out my miscalcullations and errors.

    UPD.

I've been pointed out that there's a penalty when repairing so a time to repair a generator is 80/40/~26.(6)/20 when using a "prove yourself".

Youre not good enough in chase or with your perks if that is a consistent problem

And there is most of the time no genrush, no toxicity, to me its not a question of counterplay, its just "i dont want to play fair, because i dont mind about other people fun so let's bully them for no reasons "

I had to bring back my DS which is, even added to BT, still not enough to counter it in my opinion

Plus this event is totally failed, since they get tons of BP for playing like jerks. The idea was to reunite people, but it divided more than ever.

I cant imagine new players on DBD how this behavior can keep them playing ?

This + lag issues = Unplayable game.

    No thanks

95% of the time tunneling is mischaracterized by survivors. I get accused of it by low level survivors when they make it into my game. Generally, they are hanging around hook, trying to be overly altruistic, not sneaky, bad at looping, dont have good map knowledge or how to play tiles, or generaly just salty. It is also not tunneling if someone is hooked in between you. I hear "tunneler" because someone dies on hook when only two others get hooked once.... but they are going for saves or unhooks.

ALL OF THAT to say .... tunneling is as much of a strat as gen rushing.... looping.... flashlight saving .... abusing endurance perks... etc.

It is a stupid arguement to have. It doesnt happen in red ranks very often. I have 3k hours and solo survivor for at least 1000 hours.... I have very few times that I have ever been tunneled and even if you get tunneled... go next. The more experience you have... the better you get at avoiding getting hit and the less chance you have of dying fast. Be introspective. Do people camp and hook? yes. Do survivors hide in lockers and not do gens? yes.

The past two days I've been using no perks on Felix to get the power moves trophy, for example. Only two of those games were bad. A face camping twins player, and two people deciding to DC the moment they saw a nurse. Maybe I'm just lucky, but the complaints still seem overblown to me.

I play solo survivor 80% of the time. It is not that bad. People are just immature. There are plenty of ways to get groups if you dont want to deal with it.

Here how it works: DS + inner strength. You cleanse a totem before you’re hooked. Once you’re unhooked go into a locker & make it known that you have DS. If the killer wants the DS he’ll take it. If not they’ll leave you alone to be healed to healthy in 8-10 seconds. Best part about this is you can do it twice if you haven’t used DS.

Add soul guard and adrenaline unbreakable for when you get slugged when they see this and make it even stronger.

We've all had the situations as survivor wher we get unhooked. Only to find that our savior has vanished into thin air, leaving us injured as you hear the heartbeat grow louder.

We've also been on the other end of the spectrum, where we pull a move so smooth brained that it puts us back on th hook.

Point is that it's not always the killer being a dick that causes the tunneling. Sometimes our teammates leave the killer no better option, or we put ourselves back on the hook with a bad decision.

Yes it sucks to be on the receiving end, but sometimes it just happens.

I play with survivors all the time who I hear complaining of being tunneled ..... when they arent... the most common thing I notice is they do not recognize someone else was hooked in between each time.... so not tunneled .... or they do dumb things like hide next to a hook or go for a play near the killer... then wonder why the killer focuses on them.

If you are easy to catch, go do gens, stop healing on hook or standing around killer. If you do that and they turn on you, then you better be good in chase, but either way, that is your fault. Also you are not being tunneled because you die and only two other people have been hooked once... you were just easier prey. The game moves fast, killers do not split hooks evenly. There is a ton of whining in a game that is casual and fun.

It takes time and game sense and knowledge to be good at the game. Good survivors VERY RARELY get tunneled, its not worth a killers time. Do not make yourself an easy target, or get better at knowing where you are with what resources around. If you suck at loops, avoid using flashlights, or you will get moth killers that stick to you till you are dead, in low ranks.

Most people cannot be introspective and would rather get mad to protect their egos.
