It wouldn't work. DS is meant for anti-tunnel. You do ANYTHING to progress the game and you lose DS automatically for that hook state. If you don't do ANYTHING for 50-60 seconds, you're literally helping the killer kill your teammates if he's not chasing you since you're doing nothing to progress the game for your team. Doing this would make it shine as a true anti-tunnel perk but at the same time, if they want to do gens, they still lose the protection. It's only purpose is to stop tunneling. If you touch a gen, do a totem, heal or heal someone else, it deactivates. This isn't old DS.

if you go work a gen, then the killer comes to you, that is not being tunneled. I am positive you are confused about what I said. gl in your quest for ds change buddy.

So yesterday almost every match was against Nemesis.

But today: Blight, Freddy, Blight, Bubba, Nurse, Spirit, Spirit, Billy, Trickster, Trapper, Spirit, finally Nemesis, Legion, Plague, Bubba.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

    EDIT: Updated it

I played about 30 nem games and 10-15 billy games yesterday. Will probably do it again tonight and double that over the weekend. :)

Also, ironically, someone posted right above you "So much nemesis"

I've been playing DBD for 4 and a half years. I've seen it all. Rubber-band basement, getting stuck inside of hooks, double BT for both the unhooker and the unhooked, 6 second SB and the list goes on.

If you make it happen twice, it has to come down on time. perhaps 25 seconds or so. The emblems did some to deter tunneling, but I understand your overall point. Reduce the stun by 1s and reduce the time its active to 25 seconds and you could have 2 charges of it. That might work.

Actually, if you've been around a while, you might misunderstand. DS was finetuned to fulfill its purpose more precisely.

You're arguing the same point, so eloquently.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

The title says it all. To be a true anti-tunnel perk, you should get 1 for each hook phase.

This is a very bad Idea. If you have been around awhile you would understand why.

He's easily one of the worst killers in the game atm, his power is detremental to him for most of the game and not powerful enough to warrant giving survivors another hit. He's a powerless default killer that if he uses his power is worse than a powerless default killer.

His power is strong at tier 3... if you think its detrimental that is because you miss alot.

What a bunch of useless devs, sure hope other companies are looking at this and having 2nd thoughts about having their brand in this game in the future. Seeing how bad youve managed to treat the resident evil brand is sickening

If 90% of survivors using it wrong, nerfing it will not be problem then.

Just like you dont balance for the top 1% you dont balance because people do not understand how to use it. He is saying it is strong. IF misused, then you wouldnt nerf, because it is not strong. Dont telegraph your hits, remember who has DH, and bait it out. It is a very common place idea.

Lol my User name lol? But ya idk I just really enjoyed playing her this morning for first time. I even streamed one of my games as her and did really well I thought?

If you ever want tips, lmk. She is a lot of fun, in small spurts for me. I will say that she gets very old when played well because you can turn your brain off and 4k once you have good map knowledge and game sense with her. 95% of survivors are not able to deal with her, even in teams, because they do not know how her traps work, why they face different directions when they trigger them, what makes the pull stronger, or when to break her web so that you dont have a whole section of the map off limits. If you see a hag place 5 traps around a hook and they get more than one kill, that is on the survivors. haha

  • I was kinda of saying it in a playful way. I think legion is fun, but I dont expect the same result if I play them for 20 games, that I would if I played Nurse, blight, spirit, huntress, or someone I was strong with.

  • @TwitchyMike said:

For game healthy broken stuffs have to fix. Dead Hard, Spirit are top on list.

dead hard? what? despite a poorly worded sentence... if your attempt is to say Dead Hard is "OP"... uh what? 90% of survivors cant even use it right and dead hard into the open or a wall. Dead hard is only strong IF you are already strong at looping.

Hey guys! I just started playing Legion again for the first time in forever. I'm doing alright, but I wanted to know what tactics, addons, and perk builds work best for them in the current game.

I only ask because I haven't played him in a while, and plenty of reworks and perk changes have come and gone since then, and I'd like to get the most of Legion.

#1 tip, dont expect legion to be strong. They arent. They can be exploited very easily. This does not apply to low level survivor play, but halfway decent survivors can punish their lack of lethality. Point blank- I play them a decent amount because I like them. Dont worry about the kills. If you are worried about kills, you should find a killer that is stronger in chase and has more lethality/pressure.

The build is irrelevant: he would have lost either way. The game needs to be balanced to prevent games like that from happening. By not balancing for good players, BHVR is pretty much saying they don’t care about people who have really put alot of time and money into their game. Why should a killer wanna play in matches that they have no chance in? There is a reason survivor que sucks.

I have seen several videos with him complaining about strong swf when he makes a ton of mistakes ... then he blames swf strength or builds... its very prevalent. No one can play perfectly all the time... and 4 people have a better chance to help cover mistakes than 1 person does.

The room for error as a killer is smaller, no doubt. Resorting to blaming "swf" when you have no idea if they are swf... and he has been wrong several times... is not good either. It gives a bad look to the community who doesnt pay as much attention.

I used to watch him a lot, but the whining overtook the value of seeing the gameplay to me. Just my opinion, but unless you play near perfect, then introspection is probably the best course of action.

No. This has been proven a hundred times over. There is no benefit. Just more items appear, since you dont have perks. It is the same as no prestiege if you had all perks unlocked.

  • @GuyFawx said:

Like does the bloodweb have a increase in ultra rares in place of a perk?

  • @TwitchyMike said:

Just curious I am trying to go for a blood point build and current have these perks at tier 3. Is this a good blood point build or is there something better? I am at the point where I own every survivor and killer and my next goal is just to get everyone to lvl 40. Also this build is on the Huntress. I just got lucky getting her to lvl 40 with these perks.

    1. BBQ and Chili
    2. Beast of Prey
    3. Distressing
    4. Hex: Thrill of the hunt

That build does offer the most theoretical bloodpoints.... but it is a stupid build to run. The only other one you might run is Distressing, but that doesnt synergize with most killers. Just use BBQ and have a strong or more lethal build that helps you end games faster. That is far more productive.

  • @UncleStabby said:

The tutorial tells us that this is the Killer's domain. Here we can often find the Basement, a terrifying room with hooks that can't be sabotaged and carries with it an extra risk for unhooking teammates....

But is this really the Killer's home turf? Hardly. Killer shack is one of the safest places to be for a survivor, oddly enough. It comes standard with a God pallet and Demigod window, and has not one, but two (and sometimes up to SIX) lockers!

Now, what if we changed it to make it really feel like the Killer Crib its meant to be? Heres a few ideas to get it going:

-Make the Killer shack customizable for the killer by adding more breakable walls to tighten loops, maybe introduce a breakable window for killers like Trickster, Huntress, and Slinger.

-Add increased chances for totem Spawns. The shack would be more dangerous, of course, but we should balance that out with greater rewards. Totems being there would make it more enticing.

-Add another chest to basement, and increase the rarity of the loot that can be found within.

-Add the Oblivious effect while in the basement.

I can already hear you guys tsking and going 'But what about campers? What's the counter?'

Camping is toxic, yes, and camping needs to be changed too, so that it punishes killers more, but thats a different subject.

What about you guys? Any ideas you have to balance the shack or basement more?

If you are good and knowledgeable as a killer... the shack is easy to deal with. You can usually get god pallet or push a survivor off in under 20 seconds.

I know i took too long for this but here goes.

#1: With Wraith speed boost when uncloaking, you can use it to smack survivors.

I know this is obvious, but its something to help wraith mains out.

#2. Tap generators to stop regression.

You can do this while in chase. Its useful. 🤷

#3. Do not throw pallets against huntress when shes winded up.

#4. Always try to go for saves, but if the killer is nearby, do NOT go for the save unless you have Borrowed Time.

#5. The last one for the first part: try to utilize asmuch value out of perks as possible. You can do this with other perks to support your build. Well thats ot! Lmk if i missed anything! Also help would be appreciated

Wraith has a speed boost built in now. even in cloak. And his lunge was increased, not just speed out of cloak.

Do not tap generators to stop progression if the killer has pop, which is very likely if they dont have ruin and sometimes still if they do. Get good at identifying what it looks like when a killer has pop. it is very obvious and it has a different animation.

You absolutely can and should pre throw a pallet against her if you can do it safely and she gains too much ground. This is only a good tip if you are running straight through a pallet. most small or round loops you can run through the pallet, then hit it and cause a lot of frustration for the hutnress who has to break it since she is very slow.

#4 is just wrong. I think your intent is right, but you should do gens, then save later. Each hook state is a set amount of time and getting someone off the hook immediately is time wasted on a gen if you were on one (which you probably should have been)

You should use perks that synergize. Obviously you are taking them for their value, but it is more important to play the game well and get a good game sense.

You missed the most important part, which is do generators, or something productive. New players hide, crouch, dont do gens, move off of gens when they dont need to because they see or hear a killer. get frozen in panic and dont save or dont do gens.... the best way to pressure ALL killers is to be efficient with your time. understand that a gen takes 80 seconds to do solo, 47 seconds to do with 2 people, 38 seconds to do with three.... so you should be solo on gens, unless you have prove thyself, then and only then 2 people should be on a gen.

Splitting up is always best and any more than one on a gen is bad, not only for mathematical reasons, but if the killer finds you he can push two off a gen and potentially get multiple downs. The exception to this is if you face twins, then you should always be with a buddy to counter victor effectively.

  • I am sure you are aware that everyone is likely still somewhat behind because of a small thing called covid. Development cycles are pretty rigid, what does it matter? Also keeps more people coming back a few weeks after a killer/survivor comes out... win win.

The thing is nobody ever says why.

So i ask why will MMR / SBMM "kill the game" Why is it "bad" ?

community isnt big enough for a truly competitive scene and the casual nature of the game is half the reason the streamers can be so engaged in their chat. Sweating every game will expose a lot of problems and cause even less killers. I think that is the general consensus among players that have actually been around for a long time. That being said I think a partial MMR would be what I would like to see. DBD has never been fun when you have to sweat it out every single game.

  • about 12 million. I have the benefit of old archives, because I was away for 4 of them. and I have 2 60k mori quests, 1 mill bps, 1.2 mil from the shrine, etc. Another 9 million bp in shards once the event starts and the shrine rotates daily (4x150k). so I will likely use shards to prestiege and carry the bloodpoints from optimal pathing over to the next couple of killers/survivors. Doesnt hurt me to keep them as completed.

"I fully admit that played well she is better than the aforementioned killers"

So you are basically saying that Pig isn't the weakest, and that she has strengths that you personally dislike (like seeing boxes), and that some players who play her are bad ('cause they don't know how to).... and that's why you picked her in the poll about the weakest killer in the game? wut?

I am sorry that confused you. Strength of killer is based on experience with the killer, game sense, etc. Since she is terrible to play, and people play her less, more often pigs are weaker than other killers when I face them. That is my perception, and why I stated it as such. Hopefully that helped you a bit.... but it sounds like you are more interested in trolling a different opinion. To say a killer is strong, people have to be good at them or want to play them. Twins is super strong, but players play like potatoes because they dont like playing them, so they have little exp. That is always how the eb and flow of dbd, if you play more, you get better and killers can appear stronger. I have played against many nurses that were easily beatable... but that does not detract from the fact that she is the strongest killer, able to counter pretty much anything survivors do, but nurse is not played as much as many other killers, because of skill cap and playstyle (per forums and feedback)

  • @JediWithASniper said:

Yeah, but there are also dead ends that are bad. They will learn to spawn them where breaking them isn’t the end all of a loop.

I honestly dont see what that means in relation to the OP. Killers dont spawn walls, if that is what you mean, they are there to control and counter loops that are extremely strong and break potential infinites. Also adds to the horror-theme that the killer would break walls, not the survivors.

No I think you aren't paying attention or are being purposefully obtuse. It is a simple fix. Show me pings. If you vpn, your Ping will be #########, this is vital info for everyone about to enter a 10+ minute game to know. If you alt tab, that's a very momentary lag spike. If it increases the wait times for me so be it. If it increases the wait time for killers with bad pings, even better. Stronger dedicated servers? What does that even mean? If you mean that it punishes laggy killers, I'm all for it. If you want the server to somehow determine a VPN killer and make it work, its impossible. I don't know what you mean by incentives for killers to play. You seem to think I'm complaining about lobby wait times. I'm complaining about bullshit hits because of laggy killers.

You're using straw man arguments. It is not as simple as just adding ping. That is a narrow-minded way of thinking.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2256547#Comment_2256547

So just to make this clear:

    • getting caught out
    • grabs off hooks
    • not being in optimal position

Are not signs of survivors inexperience, but of killers experience?

As you said, IF you know how to play the game and have experience, you know what tiles to run and which to avoid. So again, 30 second chases are very much skill dependant. Both sides.

I am not going to drill down further into a straw man argument on your opinion of my opinion, but you said it was on the survivors, not killers, which is wrong, and was my point. It is both sides. It is always a combination. good survivors do not auto beat good killers 1v1. that is just silly.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2256497#Comment_2256497

    Maybe they´ll buff it.

But we should go back to the topic.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2256365#Comment_2256365

If a killer ends a chase in under 30 seconds, it means survivor inexperience. With equal skill level, survivors will always beat the killer.

I dont think this is accurate, at all. Survivors do not always beat the killer in a chase at equal levels... that does not even make sense and pretty sure you have to be trolling. There are strong tiles they can play well, and in that case the 30 seconds (that I mentioned arbitrarily, to give an average) but people can be caught out, forced to grab off hooks, etc and not be in optimal positions. Saying a killer downing someone in 30 seconds means the survivors are inexperienced is the type blanket statement that is convoluting the discussion around any sort of balance. If as a killer you cannot down people quickly, then it is generally also a game sense or map awareness issue, not only the survivor themselves. If you know how to play the game and have experience, you know who to go after and what tiles to leave alone to keep pressure up, etc.

  • @jester20k said:

I want to know the ping of the people I'm about to play with/against. It's basic information that pretty much all online games give. I want the option of deciding whether I'm going to play that 250 ping lag beast or not. I don't want to be victimized by someone's bad connection, whether it's their fault (vpn) or not (bad connection, still way more their fault than it is mine), it certainly isn't my fault. If I choose to Dodge the lobby and wait longer that's on me.

You seem to not have read the post very well.

  • @zumer said:

Why is there no mmr? I play like a survivor and I'm tired of being a victim in every match. it is simply impossible for a survivor to escape.

they are working on this and have temporarily implemented it. It was kind of a disaster to be honest... so I am much more in favor of them doing a lot of work to improve the MMR system. Also True MMR would be terrible... super sweaty games and people slugging to get pips that are not even indicative of how well they played. You can run a killer all game and if they are a new gamer and follow you all game... you can saftey pip, while clearly outplaying the killer.

  • @PHeadisHot said:

Purple rank killer matched with Red rank survivors(mostly rank1)...why?

I appreciate the matchmaking time(it's fast) but I think the ranking is a bit unfair. Purple ranks are supposed to be matched with the same rank...right?

This game does not have matchmaking. The sooner you accept this the better you will be. I know it has matchmaking but the ranks are total BS, just like the pip system is BS. Red ranks do NOT mean a player is good. And they reset so often, that often you face lower ranks with many hours that are better than red ranked players. Comms mean more than a rank color that can be earned with time put in. You can get red ranks off dive bombing hooks and barely doing any gens.

  • All PVP games have people on both sides of the fence.... but most of us that have been playing a long time play both sides... so I think you misunderstand the community.

This is not simple. There are a lot of factors there, to include VPNs, ping spiking bc they are alt tabbed, etc. Also, having people leave the lobby bc of ping only furthers the wait times... the solution is that they need stronger dedicated servers, and more incentives for killers to play. They are working on the latter.

  • @Crowman said:

While comms do provide an advantage, they don't provide as big of an advantage as you are thinking. Individual survivors still need to be good at the game otherwise comms won't do much.

Also I doubt you were facing constant 4 man SWFs all night. While you likely had some SWFs in lobbies, they weren't all 4 mans.

If you were constantly losing 4 gens in 3 minutes all night, then you likely were making plenty of mistakes in your early chases not allowing you to build up pressure.

This is a crazy take, to me. comms absolutely add a HUGE advantage, especially with good players. being able to leave someone on a hook and get another 50% on a gen is huge ... knowing where stealth killers are or traps are is huge. I respectfully think you are underestimating how strong it can be. It obviously still matters how they communicate and what their experience is.. but the potential advantage can easily double the efficiency of a team.
