If people are struggling to get 2 kills especially against rank 5 surivors how is he supposed to be played at rank 1

this is the only killer I struggle to stay in rank 1 and he literal garbage my inputs dont matter as this killer I try recoil control nope random recoil I try m1 nope he's 110 cant do that well on top of that he's easily the most map dependent killer in the game you got a tall loop you lose got a short loop take 30s to down then

seriously he's worse that legion legion can at least temporarily ingore any loops and get quick injures and info and then after that they are atleast 115 to down

Look at nemmisis he's 115 has ai free info has a short ranged attack and can break pallets with it also he needs 3 hits not 16

Seriously whoever made this killer had a good idea but someone butchered it

Ranks are not indicitive of skill, but more so of time put in the game. You can be rank one and be terrible at looping or chasing down survivors and anti looping or mind games.

That being said, trickster suffers from lethality and ending chases fast, that has never been a good thing and almost always means that killer will struggle against experienced and good players. That being said, not many experienced players think he is the worst, but he suffers from poor design for sure. There is room to improve him, without a doubt.

Not to mention, he isnt very "tricky" be it skill ceiling or playstyle.

Been playing the game for about 2 years and I’m still having a bit of an identity crisis as to which killer to main. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Trapper and Clown.

But on a serious note - meyers and pig are viable options, wraith and spirit if you want to be a bit more sweaty. Huntress and slinger are great for chase. you can use perks to make almost every killer much stealthier like monitor, tinkerer, etc. Huntress is not stealthy, but a ton of fun with high skill cap in chase. demo can be tons of fun in chase and portals and addons make him very stealthy. It sounds like you are a mid level killer so it probably doesnt matter what you play as long as you have fun with it. I play demo and meyers in red ranks and people think them weak. Same with doc and wraith. I enjoy all killers to be honest minus pig, but I hate saw so I just dont give a crap about her.

    Discarded report reasons

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT:

    Camping

    Slugging

    Tunneling

    Streamsniping

    Teabagging

    Bodyblocking

    Looping

    GRIEFING: INTENTIONAL GAMEPLAY ABUSE

    • Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
    • Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience
    • Holding the game hostage

Now my problem is that under the 2nd part of griefing - "Targeting" (babysitting /tunneling) specific users repeatedly in order to ruin gameplay not the definition of tunneling babysitting?

you would have to prove the killer is singling out one player repeatedly as I understanding ... over several games.. very tough and you need evidence.

  • worst case scenario though, you are out of there in 4 minutes. it sucks but they have their ToS as it is. it is an impossible task to ask them to go back and look at every match played and determine why people did things, which is why they ask for evidence.

If a killer wants to slug and let you all bleed out.... that killer will be in low ranks and as you rise you will avoid people like that

Killer mains with lots of time in the game do not behave like that. we want to see the community grow and challenge. I slug if need be, being that I am sweating for some reason or bc I want to and the game got away, but usually only one, aside from when people dive bomb the hook or are all around it. IF you stand near hooks or hide near them, then get downed then slugging will net them another down soon..... so dont do that. do the objectives, its 60 seconds per hook state.... you dont have to run to it. There are things you can do to discourage slugging. Part of that includes getting better at the game. I think you will see less of this when MMR is incorporated as well, unless you are on the low end of that spectrum.

It will be seen as griefing/harassing if you do it repeatedly to the same people, but never holding the game hostage.

Unless you have documentation, then what you are doing is stating your guess.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2238332#Comment_2238332

Not all of the posts criticizing their decisions have been "this sucks" posts. There have been lots of well written posts explaining what the poster feels is wrong, why they feel that way and what they feel could be done to fix it.

And the community has brought up game health chapters many times. They even answered a question about it on one of their streams and said they didn't feel creating less content to focus on game health was needed. They also have a history of saying they are working on something or going to try something new that never comes and instead of saying "yeah, we said we were going to do this but it wasn't working so we changed our minds" they just don't say anything in hopes of ignoring it will make people forget.

see above post response for more detail, but you misinterpret what I wrote. I was discouraging that type of response, not saying that is what people do more than give constructive feedback. The norm is generally on forums that there is a large amount of negativity, regardless of the game.

Could they be more transparent, sure. They have said many times that they are working to improve the game based on feedback. That is because developers work in cycles and many aspects of development rely on what was done in the previous cycle.

They do not have to be specific with updates on what they tried and did not work, you are not the product owner. You are the consumer. If you would like more transparency, then ask for it. My guess is that they or community embassadors will try to meet that need if they see a large number of requests.

They have to know what to give priority to and there are (example) 200 posts on twitter and forums asking for cosmetics and none that are easily found asking for more communication or clarity. They have to manage the expectations of lots of players, while recently implementing crossplay and now mobile. you can criticize the methodology behind expanding when their game was not addressed at its core. That is valid. It is always hard to balance games with this many characters and with a team their size, while adding content, cosmetics, reworking killers, maps, items, perks. They have a lot of different requests pulling them in different ways.

I am not saying that your feelings are not valid or that you dont have a point. I am appealing to people for less negative forum posts and if everyone that posted (some to get people to empathize and join their side) submitted feedback and gave honest, and contrite feedback with even potential solutions, that would be time better spent at making changes.

  • @Kirkylad said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2238332#Comment_2238332

People have been asking for a health patch over a new chapter for over a year and nothings happened. People can only hit their heads against a brick wall for so long until they just give up.

I am totally empathetic to that. My appeal was to not be overly negative. They obviously care about the game and interact with the community. Just because they haven't fulfilled what you (or anyone reporting or posting) may consider most important doesnt mean that saying statements like "devs dont care" is warranted. They are not trying to kill the game.

I was not defending things that are broken not being fixed, saying they should ignore them. I was simply trying to reduce toxic or negative posts and encourage that they do engage with the community and they are trying to fix things as evidenced through recent balancing, changes to characters (specifically killers) and their addons, perks, map updates, etc.

Remember they are a smaller company and a smaller dev team. This is not Activision with an army of devs that still regularly ignores players in light of their own plans. This is a smaller community relative to big games and voicing our frustrations constructively will net better results, I believe. Upsetting the playerbase or adding fuel to someone's fire does not help fix anything, and drives a wedge between devs and community.

This is a common problem in EVERY multiplayer online game. They layed out their roadmap and goals in the stream. If people want them to prioritize something else and they get an influx of those requests, do you think they will ignore it? I manage a development team and I can tell you they wont. even if it feels like that or they are slower.

Bottom line, stay true and be constructive... if it is too frustrating, then play other games while you wait to fix or incorporate other hobbies, but stay in the community because it needs strong positive ambassadors, not whiney streamers and brooding forum posts.

Actually 4 man slugging and not hooking isn't holding the game hostage either. To figure it out, simply ask the following 3 questions.

    1. Is one side taking actions that prevent the other from ending the game?
    2. Is one side also refusing to take actions that will end the game?
    3. Is the game in a state where it will end without any further action from anyone?

If the answers to those questions are NOT Yes, Yes, No... then the game is NOT being held hostage. Having everyone on the floor bleeding out isn't holding the game hostage because of question #3. It is poor sportsmanship, but it isn't reportable.

Do you have documentation? I have interpreted dev responses to say do not play in the grey area as they have real people that make the determination and if you are doing this repeatedly, I am willing to wager it will be seen as holding the game hostage. I am not talking about single instances. If you do not have documentation, then you are simply guessing, as I am, at undefined statements in ToS. I would not walk that line, because not only could you be banned if they determine it is a pattern they dont like, but it is scummy play for all players involved and hurts the community. The latter is obviously an appeal to peoples better nature and sportsmanship.

It feels helpless against a Spirit. Against the other top tiers like OhTofu said in a video long ago you'll get a visual and audio cue of what the other killer is doing allowing for a chance for fun gameplay but that's gone since you don't what she's doing.

Yes but if you pay attention to what she did the first time ( you have two hits before you go down generally) then you can try to anticipate that the next two times. Spirit is a chaser so good spirits wont camp you, giving you more time to learn their behavior. It is not a quick fix or a GREAT strat, but there are things you can do to keep them guessing as well. perks you can take, but you wouldnt usually run unless you know its a spirit... there is a reason she is the top killer in the game in many peoples minds. To a certain extent the same is true for nurse and blight and ranged killers. The amount of times I have faced a truly great spirit is small... most people who have thousands of hours in killer do not play her or nurse. I personally feel that it is too strong and not that fun as a killer either... someitmes you just need that 4k for archives or 12 hooks and you know you can get it with her .... so its fun but the "spirit mains" are very very rare.

I dont mean to discount any points here, I AGREE that she is SUPER strong in the right hands... the problem is that most people that dont have 20-50 spirit matches under their belt get a skewed idea of this. Also people should buckle up... it took years to "nerf" billy and nurse.... and if you look at their roadmap and plans to focus on balance for new killers. I doubt they have much time to look at spirit in year 6. She would need an overhaul

I look at it like this. IF I play meyers, wraith, demo, clown, doc, or someone that has clear counter play.... and I face good survivors wiht unbreakable, BT, decisive, soul guard, iron will, great items, etc. I am in for a very rough day

At red ranks I can tell you killer gets very stressful some games... and some games you know you outclass the survivors from the get-go.... and some games are in between. Most there are 2-3 good players but when its all 4, things can reaaallllyyyy suck.

I made a second account after 3k hours in the game to see what it wsa like at lower ranks and I intentionally didnt double pip. There is a HUGE difference in low ranks. Survivors have less exp and hide more, killers can get run all game and dont break loops, and there is clear distinction in killers being carried by addons or the killer they play.

against killers that have 2-5k hours.... they can generally play most if not all killers at a higher level than a spirit or nurse with 20ish games on that killer... they have high skill caps.

  • Did we just become best friends? DO you want to go practice karate in the garage??

That happened last time I did a testgame of the changes from dbd on hawkins.

I was dominating the round (not impressive on rank20) and then stopped to hunt the survivor before me, almost in range for a hit.

Bet a stone had fallen of from the heart of this survivor :)

To uncloud the misery: I got a phone call and rl->game. For any reason.

So you see, there are many reasons to go afk :) Afk going is ok, imo. Just dcing not. Also I had write it later in the endgame-chat, that I am on a phone since I stopped moving, before I closed the game then.

I hope that they replace DCs with these bots they are testing in PTB

Yeah they devs know they've created a one of a kind addictive game so by the time someone gets fed up and leaves they've already got dlcs, outfits etc and a new person will just take their place and buy them all over again.

I think it is on us as players to let them know we are okay with less content and more fixes. They are also a smaller dev team and company.... and they are clearly trying with map reworks.... killer reworks... perk reworks.... it is on the user (us) to help guide them and try to be positive.

remember they have years and tens of thousands of hours working on this.... and being negative does not help... imagine working for years on somehting and someone expecting you to change by saying "this sucks, you dont play your game, listen to forums" That has to demotivate you, no matter how much you care about it.... not to mention it is not helpful. I am not saying you did this at all, just hoping people see this and decide to help build up the community.... and YES it is okay to get frustrated.... but I see many more troll or negative posts then posts to help have strong discussions and helpful critique. I hope we all build the community esp with new players coming, dont run them off!

  • @PsyQuil77 said:

1.) As a killer, why would you slug for a 4k less than 3 min into a match?

2.) As a survivor, what do you do when a killer does this?

Just had a SM Meyers do this in a match, 1 died on 2nd hook, the rest on first hook.

been seeing this behavior a lot in killers recently and wanted some insight.

you take perks to counter it if it happens a lot. I play a ton of dbd I can tell you a 4 man slug early gets punished hard in red ranks.... unless the survivors are dive bombing, in which case you move on.

the most important counter is to stay positive. WORST case scenario you are there 4 minutes.... sure it sucks.... but that is WORST CASE..... usually in high ranks if they slug the game is over very fast, or you counter it.... regardless 5-10 min game. Move on, realize the game is casual and ranks arent based on skill but time put in.... and have fun! as you get better you will be able to have more exciting chases and not get slugged as a whole team. unbreakable, soul guard, wglf, etc and other perks help counter this but I wouldnt recommend building for it...

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

I'll be honest at first I thought Spirt was fine. A good balanced killer all these survivor mains on YouTube just crouching and doubling back movement to juke the Spirit and in low ranks it was true every Spirit I faced would loose like crazy. All these nerf Spirit people weren't doing it right. Then I faced a Spirit main. All these pro tricks were worthless she just downed and downed us. A 4 gen 5k. Since then and more good Spirts I realize all this "counterplay" is literally worthless against good Spirits. And not to mention her add-ons and Stridor. Which is a viable argument since people will run these commonly. One " counterplay" I hear is just run to the next loop. Something that works against a bad Spirit but good Spirits will recognize this and just down you later. 5 seconds is enough time for her to catch up to you and not to mention how likely it is add-ons are in play. As well just double back or crouch and wait. That's great against a bad Spirit. But a good Spirits will know you're doing this since they'll use their ears from all their time getting familiar with Spirit. And once more the likely chance she has add-ons and Stridor. So tell me people who say she has counterplay have the Spirits you've faced actually been good Spirits?

This is very true for high level play on many killers. Spirit , nurse, hag, huntress, blight, and twins are great examples of killers with high skill caps that can be insanely oppressive when played very well. The counter to this arguement is survivors with great perks that are in comms and also have thousands of hours.... they win this battle with overwhelming regularity.... even against those killers. .... as is evidenced i tournaments.

I know the competitive scene is not your point, but having one player (killer) who is very good, is much more likely than having 4 survivors that are all very good, so it can seem unbalanced.

I almost exclusively solo queue so I feel you, but I think the feelings on killers are skewed by players with less than a thousand hours... and often only several hundred hours... and also rng of who you face, like you point out.

  • @Iseywan said:

You could be chased all game but if you somehow escape you could still lose a pip. I just don't see how that's fair if I'm being honest.

First of all, the pip system is there based on emblems to encourage good gameplay, less camping, less hanging around hooks, and it does work for the most part, especially at higher ranks.

Second, I understand the frustration, but what about someone who has a key and hides until the hatch spawns? They should not saftey pip. Adding conditions like "if you get max bold AND escape then you saftey pip" is one idea, but then things get complicated and killers like huntress and hag you will never max chase against... so it doesnt really work...

To me the reality is that you can just get it back next game... you helped everyone else in the team if you really ran them all game... and if you can manage to throw some other actions, you can saftey pip, but if not its not the end of the world.

The rank system is not an idication of skill. it is not based on mmr, you can get higher ranks by just playing a lot... so dont sweat it. dont let a game tilt you and continue to be positive and you will have a better experience... forget ranks. I never look at it.... and my gameplay is better and my experience is better for it.

ALso I would love to loop a killer all game over getting a superficial pip that means nothing.... that is my idea of fun and I do it all the time, or try to, and I very often pip or double bc a good killer should know when to break chase and that gives you some protection while you do other objectives.

Since Friday the start of the weekend, wall to wall Babysitters and tunnelers from PC/switch/PS4 ??? I left out Xbox because I have ran into very, very, very, very, very, very, very and very few killers who played toxic babysit an tunnel. Seriously? I thought that enough people knew about this garbage. I guess not, joke is on me! No it is not just hight teens we are talking 8 - 15 lvl killers. When are the devs gonna put a stop to supporting babysitters or tunnel killers.

How can you do that? they implemented emblems to encourage "more fun" gameplay.... and made scoring events count based on how many hooks you have, not being near the hook, etc.... but if people want to tunnel and camp... let them. Often at high ranks you lose the game..... very fast .... chase + camping someone takes 3 mintues or so on average to do... that is 2 gens per remaining survivor (aka 6 gens) if they punish it.... obvioussssslsy that is not reality, but the point is, they can 100% lose the game if you punish camping.

You cant really prevent it. It is going to happen, you have to change your attitude about it. you can just move on to the next game and have fun. If you let your enemy change you, then you have lost. Be positive and have fun. There is 100% the ability as killer to feel the same way you do when survivors use strong perks and swf against killers that dont have the time in game to punish it..... It is all about not letting them control your fun. if you get mad.... find ways to practice looping or have fun, or take a break and come back..

I can tell you as someone who has two accounts both in red ranks there is a drastic difference in gameplay at low ranks and at higher ranks. achieving higher ranks takes understanding what it takes to pip, and doing it. I know that is easier said than done.... but the majority of killers that are not new understand that they cant camp without throwing the game.

  • @RayrafLPP said:

So i have seen many posts in the time being here on the forums wich say

slugging = holding the game hostage.

Why? Because 4 minutes are too long.

It is not holding the game hostage, but just for the fun:

do you want to reduce the timer?

    bleeding out in 1 min?

it would solve the problem of laying on the ground just to bleed out being boring, but is that the solution?

Or do you want killers to automatically pick up a downed survivor? this would be so much fun for swf, the one with ds that just got off hook throwing themselves before another survivor just to ds...

Slugging is not holding the game hostage, and any kind of change would not make anyone happy.

This is a horrible suggestion. Do not reduce the timer. at higher levels sometimes slugging is necessary, but you rarely get a situation where if you play 10 matches you are slugged 8 or 9 out of 10..... and there are several perks to help counter this.

  • @TapeKnot said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/254351/okay-just-to-clarify-is-early-match-slugging-banable-or-not

This does not count as holding the game hostage. Downed survivors will bleed out after 4 minutes, preventing the trial from lasting forever.

Slugging to get kills is not holding the game hostage

if you slug all 4 and watch them all bleed out, that is. Read the ToS or dev comments on banable offenses. Survivors can also hold the game hostage.. if two are left and 3 gens up and they just hide... that is also holding the game hostage... refusing to progress towards goals.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

Now, I don't wanna hear any of that 'slugging is a legit tactic and sometimes necessary' stuff. This is about people who go and slug right from the start, leaving people to bleed out. maybe with the exception of the obsession for the extra points. and of course they'll go and knock down anyone with UB immediately.

Cause by all means that is holding the game hostage, which is banable iirc.

You should read the terms of service section on banable offenses. not ask the forums..... the devs have made many comments on this and it is CLEARLY stated in the terms of service. Lazy research usually gets you bad info.

If you do not know rules well, please do not give wrong infos to people. If someone does not wanna farm and you force them to do it, that is bannable. But if everyone happy with farming, that is not bannable.

For post: Patrol your generators, when you see someone on generator they will start run. Go and and spam hit on generator, they will understand

Correct this is another ignorant user that cant be bothered to take 3 minutes to read the banable offense section of TOS. I do not like farming and I think it hurts the player base, esp for new players, but a simple google search on dev comments would show you it is not banable or reading the ToS, imagine.

Im just asking for tips for different killers to let know you're friendly... not for jokes please

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2238167#Comment_2238167

See above post. Farming is highly discouraged, I personally gen rush it because it is annoying. it only really works in low ranks .... and the devs have stated that they discourage it. As a survivor you wait (sometimes a long time) for a queue, then the killer is afk or farming and it makes the game take longer and is annoying.

The better plan is to get good at killer and use bbq and offerings and you will get 70-120k bps each match ... the points are in the hooks, disrupting gens, ending chases and getting hits. not even the sacrifices really. Learn to be efficient, as what you are asking is considered boring and a scummy gameplay and it ruins the experience of new players. we want to grow the community, not make people try the game and leave.....

The more proper approach is to keep letting the devs know the grind for BPs is too long and we need more BP or smaller webs and items to be reduced in cost. there are many posts about this.

  • @DoritoHead said:

I want to preface this post with the fact that I'm not moaning and groaning, nor screaming the Wraith is OP. I'm just having a hard time seeing Wraith as anything other a new and improved Spirit. He moves almost as fast as her, never loses sight of targets, comes out of cloak with a fast, impressive rundown. He literally has all her high mobility benefits and none of her drawbacks. The methods I use to counter him are now pretty much the same as the ones I use against Spirit. I mean, what am I missing?

You are missing experience. The counterplay for wraith vs spirit is very different. Also their powers are very different. Wraith basically only got a purple windstorm in his last buff. It is very strong, but wraith is nowhere near what spirit can be, as far as kill potential. You can see wraith, lightburn him, play pallets and loops well, and map knowledge can counter him or at least keep him busy. This is much less true for spirit, where she is completely invisible and there can be no indication she is there. When you play more high level spirits, you will see that we can catch you inside the terror radius so you dont hear the power and it will get even more terrifying.

I hate to see wraith because people seem to have forgotten or never learned his counters.... but it will improve with time. This is from a solo survivor queue perspective. I do not play either of them because I am trying to improve with other killers, but I prob get 3-4k 75% of the time with wraith... and 95% of the time with spirit.

Hands down the worst map in the game.

Objectively, it is terrible. Huge circle of dead zones with nothing but generic jungle gyms and pallets

Aesthetically, it is terrible. Literally just a big circle with stones and trees.

Fun factor, its terrible. Its huge and just outright boring.

At least haddonfield/hawkins/midwich are visually pleasing and unique. If shelter woods were a biscuit, it would be a stale oat cake.

This is an opinion and kind of just a poor question. Maybe just state what you think should be changed, so you are being productive and less whining. There are complaints about several maps and people act like this is a huge dev team. It is not. they are clearly more focused on aesthetics and new content over redoing old content, though they recently stated plans to update maps. Be patient or be constructive.

You can tell a lot of streamers are fed up with this game but they know if they drop it they lose a lot of viewers. Take monto for example, you can tell he is fed up with dbd but when he posts other videos he doesn't get near the same amount of views.

This is a dangerous lul. The devs have ignored feedback in hopes of just cranking more content and outfits. Their priorities may make them more money in the short term... but they have lost a great portion of the original fanbase. I myself took over a year off. It is frustrating in many games to feel the devs ignore the feedback. but you can look at the meta (non-shift) in this game and see that they do not care about what their playerbase wants in regards to reworks and a fresh meta. It has been the same things for years. they are putting bandaids on a toothpick bridge. It will work in the immediate.... but they should focus more on what made the game great in the beginning and not neglect their iconic characters or continute to create ranged characters that are either too strong 1v1 or unplayable.... both of which they got tons of feedback on.... and seemingly ignored based on updates. I hold out hope, as I love the game... but they have comfortable corner on the market.... which has made them lazy and seemingly more focused on making instant money, despite having no plans for a follow on dbd project.

  • To grow his stream, DBD is a very small community, relative to what he is doing now.

Today I decided to play this game and relax, as survivor. Out of 5 matches this evening, 4 are sweaty hardcore huntresses. No matter how hard you try, there is no avoiding the hatchets and your entire team is on their belly. 5 hatchets is simply way too many with no cooldowns between throws. The fact this killer was not nerfed blows my actual mind.

Do the devs realize how much this killer is spammed? Apparently they are ignoring stats. Fairness not important here?

Then another killer. Fill in the blanks. A wipeout at 4 gens still up. Eventually everyone gave up.

I think it is obvious at this point balance is an after-thought. The survivor objective is way too difficult compared to the killer objective. This issue is compounded heavily by the fact killer perks removes objective progress from the survivor side and aura perks do the job for killer. The killer perks are way too oppressive and overpowered.

There is not enough survivor defenses on the map. It is too easy for killers to track survivors. Maps have too many deadzones, there is not enough fog anymore, and killers can see right through any foliage on the maps.

If you are not going to give survivors ways to defend against the killer, at least make the maps have opportunity to easily stealth. Ideally, both should be an option. Right now neither exists. Removing stealth, adding in aura perks, making maps brighter, removing pallets, making maps smaller, have all made the game all lopsided in favor of killer. It doesn't help survivors have been nerfed non-stop 5 years in a row. I would say the game is now broken in favor of killer. It's borderline unplayable. If you win as survivor, it is because the killer let you win.

Reverse course for a change, buff survivors and make the game fair. Killers shouldn't default winning all the time.

I would guess that you are missing the requisite skills or knowledge to have a chill time as a survivor. I would suggest putting more time in and watching some tutorials on looping, as well as practicing panning your camera to see the killers movements and projectiles. Once you learn to play tiles well and how to win mindgames you will find survivor is much more chill than killer. A lot of it is also in your attitude and what you consider a win. Keep improving and the game will become easier and less stressful to you. Or you can also make friends. That may increase your experience as well.

You think the actual human player fell asleep on purpose during a stream to derank? How would that even work?

That was not my point, at all. I was referring to AFKing in any fashion, which happens regularly, usually when they get looped hard or cant do challenges in higher level lobbies.

This is mine. Nemesis for me felt like a watered down Pyramid Head, so he'd probably go between Demogorgon and Doctor.

everyone is entitled to their opinion but if played well demo is very oppressive I would bump him. Twins should be higher than pyramid head... so Id move him down... he has a high skill cap... if played optimally he can be A tier and so can wraith... who you have way too low since he has built in purple windstorms. doc and plague I would argue should go up as well. Having Blight and hag not on the same tier seems funny.... since at highest levels.... she is superior. The problem is hag takes a lot of map knowledge to play well and you have to know how to recover when a team knows how to counter. Solid list to each their own but Hag up for sure and pyramid lower... I think you underestimate demo, doc, and certainly wraith. Plague has a high ceiling for knowing how to play as well so perhaps that ranking makes sense.

Like we have so many killers who do his job better and faster... I never see him in games and when I play him it's an easy escape. He truly did go from top to bottom real quick. So you guys having the same experience or is it just me? And if you are how should the devs fix him?

He is still very strong. I just replied in the other hillbilly neglected thread with much longer thoughts. He is not new pplayer friendly because it takes time and practice to get down his chainsaw tricks at top end and not miss and do 180s, but he has great mobility and can put major pressure out on gens. You have to play him like he is intended though.... and not be missing or be a M1 Milly or you will lose. I still very much enjoy him. he was top 3 killer for the entirety of dbd until his recent change and most people with a lot of time in the game still consider him middle-top tier as a killer. obviously as with most killers its map and perk dependent.... but he is not anywhere near as bad as you seem to think.

Nothing wrong with taking the strongest killers and making them middle to top tier and cycling what is meta .... I think this comes down to understanding of the game and how to play killer. If you have good map awareness and understand how to control the pace and pressure correctly you can play him with no addons and still do very well.

Like idk if I’m the only person to think this but this killer feels like he’s in such a state of dis repair it physically makes me sad.

I will never understand why he has been left in such a sad state, maybe it’s because he’s a free killer so he doesn’t get fixes but idk really I’m just ranting at this point.

im just hoping one day he gets something, just something and isn’t forgotten until this game dies.

Billy has not been neglected at all. he has recieved fairly recent changes.....

He is also still pretty strong.... but he has a high skill cap or takes some serious time for aiming to learn well... much like nurse.... huntress... etc.

It is all in the hands of the user, understanding maps, and how to dictate game pace and end chases. I play billy and regularly kill 3-4 survivors.... he still has one shot downs and great mobility. learning to 180 chainsaw on loops is very important and it DOES take time. He is not easy to use if you do not understand his power or how the game plays at a high level.... but he was a top 3 killer for the majority of the time the game was out.... without the attention he got you would be reversing this post to "Billy OP, please nerf"

Regardless he has definitely gotten attention and not been neglected and many long time killers would agree that he is still solid middle-to-top tier for killers.

  • It is definitely nurse.... gotta keep the mystery.

  • this is not banable... people do this to derank.... it has been an issue forever.... just get out and move on

  • cut the perk costs in half, if not more... and you solve this problem. shouldnt take thousands and thousands of hours to get p3 on all the characters you want... then get viable offerings and items.

I'll never understand why they are so hesitant to give out bloodpoints. I can't imagine how hard the grind would look for new players.

I'll never understand why they are so hesitant to give out bloodpoints. I can't imagine how hard the grind would look for new players.

I think they need to drastically reduce the cost of purchasing items (cut everything in half) with almost 50 different survivors and killers to worry about, AND then people want to get p3.... its crazy. A new player will spend thousands of hours trying to be a completionist if they want p3 ... and then they lost their items when going p3 .... which is super dumb...... prestige should not take away items and if it HAS to take perks.... only knock it to rank 1... but I would argue it shouldnt take those either! it is for cosmetics.... and it does not give better chances at loot until you have all perks... leaving the only reason to p3 for cosmetics/achiev..... but it is very punishing for that..... that was a system out when we had NO cosmetics or store items to buy. IT should be updated. cut the price of all things in the bloodweb in half..... and lose nothing when you prestiege.... or when you get the perks back in the web.... have them at the level you got them.... so you dont have to purchase each perk 9 times to get it tier 3 when you are p3 that is very very bad for new players and players that want to prestiege.... the system stayed the same since there were 6 characters.... to now over 50 sooon.... that is horrible... yes we have more bp now.... but barely double if you use perks..... and its still insane.... the numbers did not escalate with each other. system works with 6 chars.... system is so grindy with 50... no one should have to spend 2000-4000 hours to get p3s on characters..

Right after Jeff, I started playing lots and lots of Jake.

Jake is still the best. not too annoying when hooked and I like his wimpers more than most. Also, his outfits make me lol. Cowboy jaaaake me awayyyyyy

The Detective's Hunch player wasted a perk slot.

except that should have made it easy to eliminate noed.... so def not worthless.... they just played poorly around it.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

Red ranked team died to tier 1 noed? What a disgrace. I can't remember dying to Noed because its super rare. Once you get exposed you run after totem and scatter.

But to run into noed killer and get killed like noobs means they aren't that good at the game like they think.

Salt in this case is understandable, I would be salty too if I made such a silly mistake. Except I would never message anyone about it and stayed angry only at myself

Your response is just an addition to the toxicity that circles around the point. Ranks mean nothing. It is more an indication of time played, than skill. If you are not new to the game, then you should know that red ranks derp just as hard as other ranks.... throw themselves at hookes, etc.

The point is that its a casual game.... not competitive... and toxicity only serves to harm the player base and give us less people overall to play with or against.

Your response and expectation is part of the problem. Play the game to have fun. Ignore chat and move on if you think it is toxic. Those players have other issues in their life, that they feel the need to say that in a video game. They shouldn't react that way any more than what you said. Both are damaging and if you like the game you should want to build a fun community with iconic survivors and killers we all love.

Matthieu literally announced the ptb is live. Almost everyone either started downloading it right away, or as in my case, next day since for me it was extremely late. How do they expect people to get the ptb and redeem the code? Well yeah, redeem it first then get ptb. But nobody expected it to expire so fast, so pretty much nobody first redeemed the code then got the ptb. I still don't know why they are so reticent for giving bp to people. We haven't had a blood hunt since Halloween 2019. And we won't have one now either (yey, at least mobile gets it).

I made a post asking about that as well. I am 1000% on board with more blood point events and them being announced a few weeks out so that we can plan better. I made a post about early announcement in the general and feedback sections, maybe they get traction, but I think it is silly that they dont tell us when they announce events that bloodhunts go on from x day - x day... and why dont we have more bloodhunts, when p3 is literally only a cosmetic upgrade.... but takes quite a bit to overhaul for an average player. good publicity means more people playing and shorter queue times.

Also, their codes notoriously expire fast. I am not saying it is right, but I think the idea is that it was for those watching the stream. I expected it to only work during the time it was live

  • I wont pretend like I am not going to try it, I just mean for me it kind of felt like they served the same purpose and I gotta have my BP WGLF if solo queued ... so then I only have 1 slot if I used both and I want my adrenaline/deadhard or SB decisive or something :)

  • sure, but at the end of the day, it was a gift.... and its not like it takes that long to get the bps, that was all I was saying. pride event and anniversary event are upcomming as well where regularly you will get 200-400% bps when people pop streamers, etc. I am happy to help you learn ways to efficiently bp farm if you would like.

64k and 120k are 2 completely diffent things. Especially since you said without party streamers, envelopes, etc.

64k is achievable. Everything above is not.

So again, those numbers are not achievable without any offerings.

If you dont have offernings, then fine... but 64k as a killer still is not that long to recover. IF you play the game, you have offerings. I was offering alternatives to get more blood points. If you want to argue about offerings, then ok. If you play a killer any amount you get a 100% bp offering every other web or so. I think it is pretty close to the same for survivors... as well as many others along the way. You're being devensive of an alternative view, or solution, as I see it. We dont need to go back and forth. I am telling you I am more than happy to show you how to get 250k in an hour as a killer. If you do not want that, then okay, and I wish you good luck in your games.

Why is this the hill you're choosing to die on? How is people complaining on a public forum about an arguably short time period to enter these hurting you? All anybody here is doing is bringing up grievances so hopefully someone at BHVR will see it and hopefully in the future realize people have jobs, classes, and other commitments that prevent them from being able to jump on the game at a moment's notice to claim rewards for a game they love.

24 hours is not a moments notice, my point was that it was not the most tragic thing in the world. Yet here you are on this hill with me..... Go look at my last few posts. I am also trying to get them to see that. I was simply saying that you can make up the lost points in an hour or so if you play killer, maybe a bit more as a survivor. Maybe instead of white knighting, you can also offer constructive ways to BP farm, if you missed a gift opportunity.... which was a gift...

In any case, have fun in your future endeavors in dbd, see you in the fog. You can have your hill back.

  • I dont agree with your point, even though it is clearly out of frustration. HOWEVER, Red forrest is probably worse for killers and even though I play killer 80% of the time, I dont mind it THAT much. I would rather have variety. The game, some larrys, red forrest, a lot of maps can be survivor sided, but that is okay. They do need to rework it and they have been reworking maps... but getting less maps because they are outdated is not the answer as I see it. BELIEVE ME I have been frustrated with that map as a killer... but it is still kind of iconic and I would rather keep it in and have them rework it. They arent the biggest dev team in the world, but they ARE reworking things and they DO listen.... some big teams do not even do that.

This person lol. Most I can make in a match, unless multiple people bring BPS or Cakes is 96,000 using BBQ and Survivor Pudding, 12 hooking, and plenty of slugging and gen kicking while also using my power and M1 attacks numerous times.... The average for me in a killer match with BBQ and Survivor Pudding is around 70,000, and the shards that came with the code is 3-7 levels so depending on player level 5-15 games lol ...

If you think you only get 96k by slugging, then you are crazy. even if you get 90k, thats 270 after 3 games... and I would venture to say I average 30k on killer. 32k is all about managing hook states and farming bps, you dont have to slug or kick any gens.

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

I also find it stupid, since most players played the ptb in the first 24 hours like myself

then you clearly had time to type a code in that would take you 30 seconds.... or you didnt care that much if it expired.

No, you can´t. At least not without offerings (as you said).

You can, and I would be more than happy to help you understand how. Even using no bp offerings and having a 32k game, with bbq and chili you make 64k baseline with a killer. same for survivor, though getting 4 stacks of wglf and having a 32k game is noticably harder. Throw 100% gain on it with offerings you get and you make what I said. With a bp offering it is not uncommon for me to get 96k games..... with just bbq boost.
