  • What was even the point? The game still freezes, the new map is still disabled. Why did I have to wait 15-20 minutes for this to download? It feels the exact same.

  • If you don't know what this perk does, because you've never seen it or whatnot, it basically blocks all windows within a 32 meter radius of a gen when that gen is completed, and they stay blocked for 30 seconds. 32 meters is really not that big of a radius in the grand scheme of things, especially on big maps. And like Blood Favour, the survivors usually won't be affected by this perk at all if

  • These freezes really do take away from the experience. I decided to just do my dailies and get off. Killer is stressful enough, and now the freezes give the survivors another second chance. The only thing to soften my rage was that I was somehow getting black pips off of 3 people escaping. It's been almost a week since this horrible bug-filled update came out, and we're still dealing with the con

  • This bug is on PS4. Underneath the Dead By Daylight 'app' there's the Now Playing section where you can see your friends' parties. I join a custom game lobby of theirs through that, and it's pretty much a blank lobby (no survivors in any of the survivor spots), the change role button is available but pressing it does nothing, and you have to close the game because the back button no longer works

  • I can't see anything. It's hard for survivors to see the killer and vice versa, but killers because of their bad fov have it worse. When survivors get close to you, you literally can't see them. And then when you back up so that you can see them, you don't know if they're far or close or if the corn is blocking you view, because the corn is literally like having an obstacle between you and the su

  • Do you ever feel that your teammates, your friends, could have played better? Do you ever feel that you have to carry them? I've felt that way on many occasions and especially tonight. I realize it was a 3-genning Doctor, but he was rank 14 and left his 3-gen for way too long and still none of them got done. I felt that my teammates had thrown the match. How do you respond to situations like this

  • Autodidact is a perk that, when you are not healing someone with a medkit and are not healing yourself, you get a special skill check which adds a token (max 5 tokens) when hit. Each token gives you a +15% progression bonus each time you hit a healing skill check. However, equipping this perk starts you off with a -25% progression bonus. Where do I begin? You can't use this perk while healing w

  • This perk activates for 45 seconds after you hook the obsession. While active, any time a survivor lets go of a gen that's in progress, it gets entity blocked for the remaining duration. It's like a reverse Thrilling Tremors. The fact that it only works when you hook the obsession makes it a hard perk to use. Unless you're using Nemesis or Furtive Chase, it's a 1 in 4 that you're even gonna see

  • This perk let's you see the aura of the hatch within 24 meters of it while you are the last survivor. You would think that with a perk dedicated solely to finding out where the hatch is, the range would be a bit higher, if not full-map. In 24 meters of the hatch, you could probably hear it from that close anyway. Having to be the last survivor alive makes this perk borderline unusable and detri

  • Hex: Blood Favour is a perk that entity blocks pallets within 16 meters when you hit a survivor with a basic attack, and this has a cooldown of 40 seconds. The fact that it's a hex makes it even less reliable as a perk, and many people have said that it shouldn't be a hex. 16 meters is not a big area of affect, especially considering how survivors play normally. Smart survivors will not stick a

  • I'm going to start a series, or whatever you want to call it, of posts about perks that never get used, or get used rarely, because they have ridiculous downsides. And this is going to be covering survivor and killer perks. Perhaps this will be enlightening to people who ask, "Why does everyone just run meta perks?" First off is Spies From The Shadows. Spies alerts the killer of a survivor's loc

  • If you don't know what these add-ons are, they're what we used to call and still do call "insta-heals". The syringe is the pink one and the styptic is the purple one. Now, why would we need these add-ons to give 1 additional charge? You're probably either saying, "That's so weak a buff, what difference does it make?" or "They're already strong enough." Here's why I'd make this change. Ideally,

  • This is a post about the stupidly difficult Scourge of the Purge challenge. Once in a blue moon will you get two survivors at once with Plague's red puke. Why then, do we need to do that TWICE to complete this challenge? "Let's come up with the most unreasonable, unlikely thing in the game, and then make the players do it twice." -The devs when making challenges like these. If you didn't have t

  • Why even call her a ranged killer? Her puke can't go 5 feet without you staring up at the sky, because for some reason puke has BULLET DROP. There's so many times where the puke goes right through the survivors and it doesn't even register! She has garbage sensitivity in her power, so I implore you to give her the console Blight treatment. I see PC players pull off ridiculous back and forth volle

  • The disconnect bonus isn't enough. When it comes to challenges, pipping, adepts, etc: we deserve the sacrifice points. It's not fair that the killer gets robbed of their pip or of their adept or whatever by a survivor pressing "leave match". And this is not to lead into a fairness conversation on the part of the survivors. For example they'd justify DC's working the way they do now (not giving t

  • This game holds survivors hands so hard it's not even funny. All the gens can be done in about 5 minutes. We have second chance perks like DH and BT. Most killers suck design-wise and are not viable in higher level play. Looping is easy. Survivor mistakes are not that damaging in the long run. Why, then, would you stand around like a bunch of rank 20s, not taking the aggro, not doing gens, not o

  • Think about it. In a 1 versus (however many) horror game, the killer should feel in control, unless the players on the other team on average are good at the game. Obviously if you're going solo survivor, and so are all your teammates, you probably won't be coordinated enough and the killer will beat you in the end. But a team of people on mics, though it's probably a little bit overkill, will pro

  • I called it, too. The flight speed add-ons are interesting, but I was scared of their power level from the very first time I saw them in the patch notes. I used them and did much better with Huntress than I normally do. The survivors didn't stand a chance. This add-on, when combined with windup add-ons is gonna be insane, because Huntress' entire weakness, besides that she's 110%, is that she has

  • Releasing Victor, switching to and from Charlotte, trying to move after downing someone with Victor. It all feels so slow and janky. They're somehow even worse than before. And now, with Lucky Break, you're not gonna be able to see blood, the only thing Victor can use to track the survivors. And it almost seems like Victor can't attack people through windows or over pallets anymore. That, or the

  • Oh my god, SWF is so easy! Literally hold forward in chase, press a button on a gen, and you win! The only killers that can compete are top tier ones or ones with op add-ons. And I know what I'm talking about because I've been on both sides of the equation. And combined with the RNG of this game, SWF can be a nightmare. Every time I face SWF, they win or stress me out to the point where it's not

  • Only in DBD do you lose strictly because you played well. "Oops. I killed a survivor. Now the rest get hatch." Hatch in itself is the biggest crutch that ever was, but keys are on another level of crutch. Why am I even gonna play a killer match if survivors have an item that guarantees an escape? Even when they don't have a key they can DC 'tech' aka exploit so their teammate can have the hatch.

  • There's many perks that are worse versions of other perks, like No One Left Behind to Adrenaline, Tenacity to Unbreakable, Premonition to Spine Chill, etc. But Object is now gonna be a strictly better version of Distortion. The fact that you can see the killer's aura when they can see you tells you exactly what aura reading perks they have. Nurse's, BBQ, I'm All Ears, etc. And this happens throug

  • This is taking too long. We were promised console optimization forever ago and it's still terrible. There's still fps drops, especially as killer, and even when doing a simple skill check as survivor. I guess if you don't have a Pro or didn't buy a PS5 from a scalper, and are just a PS4 scrub, you don't really matter. The sensitivity cap is nowhere near high enough. I'm on 90-95%. I can't go much

  • I'm looking at Lucky Blade (yellow) and Waiting For You Watch (green). They increase the survivor's laceration meter's decay duration when out of blades. So does that mean that they'll decay quicker or slower when you're out of blades? Because to me it sounds like quicker. If that's the case, they seem like joke add-ons without the upside of more bp. Heck, Nurse has brown AND yellow joke add-ons,

  • I keep seeing people say BBQ is OP and Object is OP, but why? A bit of a rhetorical question since we all know Object had to get changed, and BBQ is the best information perk for killer. The next best thing to Object would probably be Dark Sense, and the next best thing for BBQ would be, idk, Hangman's? But those perks are considered garbage, even though they're only a bit worse than the best inf

  • I've played Trickster and he was absolute garbage. Too much recoil, too many knives missed consistently, and survivors would barely twitch and avoid most of not all of my knives. I mostly blame console controls, but he's bad anyway. So you can imagine my shock when I play survivor, SWF or solo, and he beats us more often than not. It's not because we're bad survivors. It's that the Trickster, wh

  • I have the perfect buff idea for Dark Devotion. The perk, as you know, has been power crept by Tinkerer, Monitor, Ghost Face, and Trail of Torment. But speaking of Trail of Torment, what if Dark Devotion had the same effect? Trail of Torment, after its buff a while back, has the killer be undetectable until they damage a survivor or the gen that they last kicked was worked on again. So what if D

  • A theme that I've noticed with these map remasters, except maybe Ormond, is that they're unabashedly survivor sided. Yes, there's new dead zones on some of these maps, but does that really do anything for the killer? All the survivors have to do is not run to the dead zone. They should know the maps just like the killer has to. The same broken loops are on all these remastered maps, and in some c

  • You have too much sensitivity on your basic attacks, but too little when you're aiming with hatchets. I've started using STBFL on her because that's how unreliable point-blank hatchets, or should I say hatchets in general, have become. I put iridescent head on her, and all it did was even the playing field. There were still so many matches where it was close, or the survivors straight-up escaped

  • We say Freddy's fine, he gets nerfed. We say buff Demogorgon, he gets nerfed. We say Huntress is mostly fine, she gets half her add-ons changed. What is going on? Let's break it down a bit. Freddy was overated as #########. His slowdown add-ons did basically nothing, and his snares could be countered by running away from the loop or dropping the pallet early. But people whined that they did thin

  • The survivors have already done the gens. 2 separate exit gates are powered, and are ready for the survivors to open them. Why then does hatch still have to open just because 1 survivor is left? They have not one, not two, but now three outs, all of which they're guaranteed to escape through if they're full health. People who say the endgame is overwhelmingly killer favored probably aren't playin

  • Grabbing challenges, like many of the killer challenges, are completely up to the survivor letting you complete them. Grabbing ok particular hasn't worked properly for a long time because it gives priority to the survivor, taking away the killer's grab, that he should have got, a majority of the time. Which makes me wonder, why are we still doing grab challenges? You're not only putting their com

  • You slow down to 90% speed, you can't stop throwing unless you cancel it entirely, you can't use your knives for a bit afterwards, combined with the insane recoil... I mean why use it at all? I'm serious when I say that using Main Event will hurt you more than it helps you. Trickster can't afford to waste time with a garbage special that doesn't do anything half the time he uses it. You need for

  • It has to do with how his modes (that were scrapped for the rework) looked. Nowadays, Doctor by default is always in his "punishment" walking animation, which is him kind of hunched over holding his weapon. Although it wouldn't be practical to bring it back, I much preferred his "treatment" pose. He was much more regal and composed looking while in that pose, and it was kind of unique for him com

  • Most of us know the default cutscene that plays when you boot the game up. Crows, the starting survivors, Trapper, yadda yadda. But there's been a few times where the devs have changed the opening cutscene to that of their trailer for the newest chapter. I haven't been playing this game since forever, like some of you, but this has happened with Cursed Legacy, Chains of Hate, Descend Beyond, etc.

  • I've been thinking about how much each killer really uses their ability. Obviously, you can't use your ability all the time, and you should instead wait for the right moment to use it. Think Blight or Doctor. Wild overuse of their powers is their downfall. The same is true with Trickster, but how much then should we use it? It's actually a familiar amount. With Huntress and Deathslinger, you have

  • Right now, Franklin's is one of the only counters against keys. In that regard, it's fine. But holy ######### is it annoying to play against. This is another one of those perks that eliminates entire survivor builds in a mismatch. If you brought a good medkit, good toolbox, you're running Streetwise, Plunderer's, Built to Last, any of that: it's a waste when Franklin's is in play. I prefer the ol

  • Even if it's something as simple as there always being an obsession regardless of if someone has an obsession perk or not, the obsession mechanic needs a changed. Right now the killer goes in with 1 of 2 mindsets: "Oh, there's no obsession, so there's no Decisive Strike. Time to tunnel!" or "Oh, there's an obsession, therefore I have to assume Decisive Strike on every single survivor." It's way t

  • Have you ever tried to lightburn a Wraith, but they uncloak before you can fully burn them? Then they might have been using a Swift Hunt add-on. What these add-ons do is reduce the reappearance time for Wraith, so he'll uncloak much faster. If you think he has one if these add-ons, do not try to lightburn him because you will fail every time, as have I. So he doesn't have to use Lightborn or hide

  • I've seen situational challenges before, but Jesus Christ! This one is just completely luck based! So in order to complete this, we have to drop a pallet, reset it, and stun the killer with it? I'm assuming you're gonna have tank a hit for no reason and then stun with the pallet, because if you miss it, you dropped and reset that pallet before for nothing. Some people don't even have Yui or have

I don't know if it was lag or what, but Victor pounced at me 3 times in the match, and all 3 times my Dead Hard didn't come out. It didn't even leave me exhausted on the ground like it sometimes does. It was like my Dead Hard didn't come out, but I clearly pressed X. Did it roll back my Dead Hard? Does Victor ignore the i-frames

Deathslinger and Demogorgon are some of the few characters that can actually benefit from STBFL because they can basic attack into their special attack in quick succession. They can't catch up quick enough. And Doc can sometimes do a thing where he shocks to block someone on a side of the pall

  • Only half the problem with abusing "aNtI tUnNeL" perks was solved with the DS nerf. People are still doing the same stuff they were doing before with BT still intact. BT needs deactivation conditions as well. If you're taking a protection hit, you're not being tunneled. If you're working on a gen, you're not being tunneled. If you're picking someone up off the ground, you're not being tunneled.

At places where you literally can't see the survivor, they can still blind you. So not only does the killer fov suck because it's so small, but it doesn't even show a realistic window of where the survivor can blind you. How is that fair? If you can't see the survi

  • Just make it like Oni's Bloodfury. Is that really too complicated? I'm already seeing a bunch of times where a Trickster gets his Main Event after he's already downed somebody or something, and then he has to wait those few seconds before he can do anything else. I know he's still in the ptb, but seriously was this stuff not thought of beforehand? Other than that though, there's nothing wrong wit

I know there's other useless perks, because of their cooldown, like Dragon's Grip, Dead Man's Switch, Surge, etc. But I want to focus on Oppression. I'm still of the mind that any perk that requires you to kick a gen is inherently weak, because you waste at least 5 seconds going over to the gen and kicking it, and if someone was working o

Only broken stuff like old Ruin or pre-nerf Undying ever saw consistent play, and those were prone to be cleaned very early regardless. Seeing as Ruin/Undying is dead, I thought it would be a good idea to review just how useful all the differ

  • I had almost been convinced that it was the killer's objective to A) stop the generators and B) kill the survivors. But that's asking too much apparently; you can only do one or the other. I have spent all night chasing survivors, dropping chases when necessary, kicking gens, and have barely eeked out a 2k average result. I could make it easy for myself and pick Spirit but relying on her gets old

  • It's not an unreasonable one for the killer, assuming they're not Nurse or Spirit. The killer never knows how strong the survivor team is gonna be, especially since there's no SWF indicator, until the game is pretty much already lost for them. So many times, they decide to not slug everyone early on while they have the chance, and then come to regret it when they get a 0k or a 1k. There's perks
