STBFL needs a buff

I've been noticing that even with STBFL x8, you don't seem to be that much stronger. Even with STBFL X8! Deathslinger and Demogorgon are some of the few characters that can actually benefit from STBFL because they can basic attack into their special attack in quick succession. They can't catch up quick enough. And Doc can sometimes do a thing where he shocks to block someone on a side of the pallet (or window), hits them and then hits them again or grabs them before they can slide over. Everyone else pretty much sucks with STBFL.

Huntress has something like STBFL x10 at base with her hatchets, which makes STBFL on her redundant, and that's why Huntress players go for the point blank hatchets into M1 or a second hatchet. She can down a survivor in like 5 seconds. It just goes to show how much better a killer is designed than a perk, because the killer at base has something stronger than a fully powered obsession perk. It's kind of dumb.

I may make another post just about this, but why does Nurse not benefit from STBFL? Why doesn't her quicker attack cooldown make her go into fatigue quicker?

After building up those stacks, hitting the obsession makes you lose 2 stacks, not just 1? Why's that? Imagine if PWYF lost 2 stacks for attacking. Imagine if Distortion lost 2 stacks for blocking an aura read. It just doesn't make sense. Hitting non-obsessions 8 times maxes out the perk's stack limit, but hitting the obsession half that number of times, 4, makes you go all the way back to 0? Not cool, especially when the obsession is the weak link, which you should be going for, or they constantly aggro you, or take body blocks for teammates. And when the obsession dies, for some reason you can't gain tokens anymore, when there are other obsession perks that do last after the obsession has died.

I think the problem is that each stack barely makes a difference. You're barely able to tell the difference between base attack cooldown and STBFL x2, heck even x4. With x8 you definitely see the difference, but it takes the whole match sometimes to get to that point, and for what? 1 second of shaved off time? To catch a survivor off guard every once in a while, because they don't suspect you have it? This perk could really be something with a small numbers change.

It's a darn shame. I like the concept of STBFL. It used to be my favorite killer perk, but now I see how mediocre it really is. It's the killer's equivalent of Autodidact. It starts out weak and you build it up, but then you never get any value out of it.

  • yeah no the perk is extremely good, you just can't tell due to a lack of experience with it i assume.

The distance you save with it at 8 stacks is tremendous to the point where Demo can almost shred again right away when otherwise he couldn't, your right that not all killers are like this but the point is the distance you save with it as any killer is a lot, you shouldn't be able to get to 8 stacks any quicker than we currently due.

Also if a survivor messes up you can easily hit them nearly right away. At vaults when you hit them they barely get any distance since they lost the speed boost from being in an animation and you recovered almost 2x as fast.

The perk is very strong and it doesn't need a change to make it better on killers that can't capitalize on it like demo can when it's already good on literally any killer in fact on killers that have barely anything like trapper and pig the perk is commonly used.

  • STBFL is one of the strongest perk on some killers. Also no, a perk doesn't need a buff if it's not meta in every single killer.

I play Piggy all the time and I never leave home without STBFL. Most games I usually have 3-4 stacks by the time first gen or two completes and the increase in pressure I get from it is tremendous. It's an amazing perk.

  • It is actually very good, I recommend recording games with and without the perk to see the difference it makes. The amount of distance this perk can get you on survivors is phenomenal. There are times where you just barely get the hit on a survivor as they vault a window or drop a pallet because of this perk. It encourages you to go after everyone except the obsession if you want to get all 8 stacks which can make you a real threat.

  • What? STBFL is an extremely good perk which can be game-changing against bold survivors who like to take protection hits.

why does Nurse not benefit from STBFL? Why doesn't her quicker attack cooldown make her go into fatigue quicker?

Probably because the devs still haven't decided if her blink attack should be considered a normal attack or an ability. Her interaction with "hitting" perks is all over the place.

  • Spotted the filthy killer main.
