Let's be honest: The dev's surveys seem rarely to ask for actual input from the community but come across like stealthy 'hey, we are going to do this, tell us how much we'll missing the spot'. So, what do you actually want to see in the game the most. (Game Health, q times and general bug and glitch fixes aren't listed, because we all know those make the top of many priority list...) -- Bett8 comments 131 views last activity

Various threads have been dedicated to Pig's high pick- and kill-rate. They pretty much all fund two main factors: A lot of pig players will tunnel someone with a trap on a lot of survivors will pop gens when someone has a trap on The easiest solution should be: If you get a fancy hat, you can not do gens, but you can also not get knocked down. Sure, this doesn't stop your teammates from d101 comments 471 views last activity

Kind of a follow up to the thread about knowing the killer BEFORE the game starts But what about potentially knowing the killer the moment you see the charms they brought? Some killers already have elements that give away who you are dealing with as survivor: Freddy's timer, Pig's boxes, the fountains, traps and I likely forgot something. Would you mind having killer-specific charms3 comments 71 views last activity

Title. Would you actually mind if you could see who the killer is in the lobby when playing survivor? Would that ruin any bit of the experience? Change your playstyle? Would it make the experience better? Would it be encouraging or discouraging? There's a handful of killers where you know it's them once you loaded into the game, would seeing their silhouette in the lobby be different? Would it27 comments 301 views last activity

...because hell knows writing is hard, but someone pointed out how similar several tome entries are and how some thus don't seem to fit the character they are for. What they pointed out specifically is that Ace's lore sounds similar to David's, to the point it feels as if Ace's story was an early draft for David's. The Nurse's tome entry has some underlying 'early draft for the Doctor's' going5 comments 111 views last activity

We all know the scenario: Someone has a good idea for how to improve/alter the game fairly, and like clockwork an onslaught of people will pour in crying bloody murder about how this change would never work would ruin the game would never work because the devs are too lazy/don't care would never work because it wouldn't make money would give an unfair advantage to both sides (aka people in23 comments 191 views last activity

Been scoring the wiki et all and I couldn't find an answer as to why the preschool has 5 nearly identical varieties. is there a good reason or was this just a weird attempt to fill the mappool at the time?3 comments 31 views last activity

WMG time, but reading their backstories et all it kinda feels to me as if the new character started out as one character in development and then go split and that maybe it was meant to be some sort of Siren like killer (the mermaid thing, not the firealarm) like, that they'd slow survivors down (similar to clown) to have an easier time hitting them multiple times? I dunno, it kinda feels like i0 comments 31 views last activity

I can'T play the ptb myself due to internet et all, but I do see a mix of calls for buffing the new killer, nerfing him, lowering the hit count of the knives, upping it, etc. But i wonder, has anyone tested out the following: M&A on the killer, how many hits can you get in before survivors jump off a gen/start running in general? We all know the quote(s) the devs made about frustration in the game, and frankly, each time I hear them say something like it I do wonder if they do know that the element of frustration in a game REQUIRES there to be a pay-off for it. Something DbD doesn't have. You grind BP (also your only reward for doing quests) to... grind BP. When there's a rift you additionally grind for fragments to ge16 comments 351 views last activity

Now, I know a lot of people hate Midwich, but hear me out. The two maps that were designed WITH breakable walls in mind are pretty well balanced if you get down to it: They're not too big or too small, giving plenty of room to avoid the killer or engage them in a chase and lead them away. Latter without the possibility to lead them so far away that slower killer would be at a disadvantage if t6 comments 81 views last activity

Cause from all I gathered people are just jumping to conclusions 1. cause someone somewhere mused/stated the next chapter would have lgbtq+ stuff and 2. people are buying into homophobic stereotypes of how to visually identify gay folks. So, is he meant to be lgbtq+ or no? Again: I just want this clarified. No discussion, no whining. Just clear word of god24 comments 391 views last activity

Now, we already do have the tome and dailies, but I do think we could have more... complex quests in DBD, including purchasable questlines. These quests could be either free regular content (expanding the dailies pool maybe) or bigger dlc bundles that wield better rewards. These rewards could be ingame currency (BP, shards and cells alike), unique charms and/or cosmetics. The new dailies/free q0 comments 31 views last activity

There's a saying that goes 'If the meadow's flooded your cows will drown, no matter how green it was the year before' Meaning that if you insist on doing things the same way over and over even if it isn't working at all anymore, you are bound to get a mess. And the game, or better how it proceeds is just that: We are past the point where the devs ought to focus on fixing it, first and foremos15 comments 81 views last activity

Shouldn't the point of the PTB be to test things? I mean, not that many people bother to test anything outside of the new stuff leaving us with unexpected shenanigans to discover once it goes live but, still. The PTB should work like a custom match: all perks and items unlocked at highest level, just to make testing easier.2 comments 61 views last activity

Hear me out, this is meant as a genuine suggestion: We all know Michael's tombstone ability: hit t3 and you can instakill healthy survivors. A lot of people hate it, and seeing how a lot of people play as if they are the character bound to die first in a slasher movie, it is quite overpowered. But imagine this: We got a 'split' UI now, meaning UIs for killers and survivors are different. AND w27 comments 261 views last activity

The game, as it stands, seems to suffer quite a bit from how chapters are done. While a new survivor can be nice, killers often seem to suffer from a kind of 'variety fatigue'. This leads to the impression that the devs are out of ideas for killers and just throw things at the wall and sometimes don't wait to see what sticks. Yet the seems to be this conviction that a chapter must provide a ne10 comments 171 views last activity

I'm still kinda stuck on the response not_queen and the devs gave in the QA stream when the question of if there's plans to do something about tunneling etc came up. They said that in some situations it's 'necessary'. And I am trying to think of a single situation in which that'd be the case. Now, you could argue that when taking out frustration against a toxic swf it's 'justified', but... that41 comments 421 views last activity

When you look at the common toxic attitude some people strut around the community... it's not just toxic, but a very specific kind of toxic in term of slasher horror: They're the jerk characters that mocks the leads for being scared/worried because of the killer, will dress up as the killer to scare their 'friends' and then mock them for being scared... and who will get disembowelled by the kill7 comments 121 views last activity

Just a comprehensive overview of who committed which shortcomigs that is leading to the games not-so-good quality: On the devs side: Lack of communication: Be it with the community or, so it seems, with their own people. Sure, some stuff might be under an NDA, other stuff might be something they wanna keep a surprise. But for everything else there should be better communication. Seen it a couple of times now that Survivors have no hitboxes when on gens. Grabbing works semi-decently, but especially ranged attacks like Huntress' hatchet or Deathslinger's harpoon go straight through. Platform: pc/steam0 comments 21 views last activity

Platform PC/Steam Since the 4.5.1 I've seen two harmless but weird bugs: Sometimes when switching between survivors after changing one survivor's outfit the one you switch to will show in their default outfit, even when it should be something else. The non-default outfit is selected, but doesn't show until it's re-applied. Sometimes I can now turn the killer in the standard lobby the same1 comments 41 views last activity

First of, no this isn't intended as bait. Second: We all joke about dbd being an M1/W simulator, but, cross your heart, what elements of gameplay are there? Like, the devs are adding in challenges now that have you find something on the field, but... The blightflower was a bit of a mess as it often gave killers a free down, and the glyph is... not really changing things up either. So, what11 comments 161 views last activity

It's getting, honestly, a bit laughable to see how averse the devs (and parts of the community) seem to be against new game modes and in general just... fixing the game proper. And often times you will hear 'yeah, the devs are not going to fix things because it's the only game of this kind so they don't have to'. Wrong. there's now more and more similar games... including among us if you simply5 comments 111 views last activity

A friend recently had the following idea for a totem counter: Make it so the counter only shows whether or not any totems are left on the field, not how many. As in: It's lit up if there are totems left, whether dull or hex ones, and goes dark if all totems are cleansed. This might have the following effects: 1. Higher chance of people doing totems. 2. Easier for people on a totem challenge0 comments 41 views last activity

It'd be nice if there was a way to earn the currencies through long(-ish) questlines, including the premium currency. Like, cleanse a total of 100 totems to earn 10k shards or 500 cells or something. Because, lbr, it is much more likely for people to buy premium currency when there are ways to earn it (and if there are nice things to buy) than to spent real money on it if that's the only way of3 comments 51 views last activity

First: Let us sell stuff from the bloodweb. Look, it should be no problem to have it that we can sell items and addons we don't need/want or can't use anymore and get BP back. Second: Separate perks and items. Make perks a bit more expensive, but have them as their own thing to unlock. Be it its own bloodweb or just a store. Third: Regular Bloodhunts. Just have 2x the BP every (other) weekend,17 comments 191 views last activity

Hear me out. Right now both Survivors and Killers don't offer much of an incentive to have different builds or various tactics. Often you only see varied builds and approaches if a streamer is memeing or if someone's 'forced' to do something for a challenge. What if the game would radically change its mechanics to make things more tactical? As in Survivors and Killers would get boost or set-bac6 comments 81 views last activity

Title. Looking at the pool of perks and the killer abilities, there is some attempt from the devs to get people to use different playstyles, but it all falls flat on its face because there is just something missing to get people to actually do this. The patch has been pushed back because of changes, and if we all have learned one thing from the Binding of Kin patch, then it's that if that happens an additional PTB is in order to check if things actually WORK as intended before unleashing them onto the liveservers.2 comments 41 views last activity

The latest mess about the new HUD and the colourblind mode have shown one thing: Dear Devs, you really ought to share certain plans with the community. Things like a new HUD, accessibility features etc are not things you should keep secret. There's a lot of people who want to help make the game better, more enjoyable and thus, more attractive to player and thus investors. Features like the abo2 comments 91 views last activity

Knowing the devs it's unfortunately unlikely they'll can the idea of the 'new' HUD and will push it through despite it being the 'graphicdesign is my passion' meme made flesh. So, if that will be a thing (likely) how is the argument against a proper colourblind mode still 'it wouldn't fit with the feel/aesthetics/etc'. Yes, yes, another of these threads, but hear me out: Decisive Strike is in and on itself a good perks that at bottom line does what it's supposed to do: punish killers for tunneling. The game as it is right now is a mess, that's not deniable. We DO need a health patch posthaste. And I think this would mean recoding from the ground up. But please, do it.
