please, please, please DON'T make him a Micah bell expy. Caleb has a wonderful underdog story and would work a lot better as someone genuinely good at heart (unless you cross him) and open-minded than as... that. So please, give us an ######### with a heart of gold when Caleb gets his tome.5 comments 241 views last activity

We've talked in the past how ridiculous it is to have people stubbornly genrush against pig and then losing people to the RBTs etc. But... I just had a match of with a dwight (green rank, matchmaking at its best again) with a trap on sitting down to work on a gen with me. wth. do... do people not know how this stuff works?28 comments 351 views last activity

Platform: PC/steam Since the 4.7.0 patch deathslinger hitbox seems even smaller than before and being nonexistent at times. On top of moving around. It was a hitDOT before already, but now it has just reached the level of being just utterly frustrating to play (for both sides) Tested with friends and out of 10 direct shots (survivor standing still) 6 didn't register at all (3 on melee distance)1 comments 72 views last activity

Alright, three matches with plague now, and the challenge still didn't count. I have everything from hitting survivors 6 times with vile purge, hitting them with my weapon while infected and hitting them at max infectionlevel neither counted. Help?16 comments 1,231 views last activity

Looking around at some killer tier lists be it their strength, fun etc, or looking at reasonings why people find a killer boring/unfun etc seem to boil down to this: A lot of people appear to simply refuse to change their tactic to fit with the killer they are facing. And often this tactic is simply 'rush gens and loop and juke the killer' If a killer has a power that puts a quick end to that,4 comments 31 views last activity

Had a couple of matches on swamp maps and each time the map was broken (more than usual), lanterns and trees floating in midair, the map being bright as day... what happened? is it just me?4 comments 41 views last activity

Picking this up from another thread. There's a myriad of ideas on how to change Deathslinger to make him 'more fun' to go against, but they all have a problem: They'd all make him unplayable. Let's break things down: Mobility: 'Grabbling Hook': I've seen this proposed a couple of times but never with an elaboration on how it's supposed to work practically (and not look utterly ridiculous on7 comments 121 views last activity

A lot of people wonder what Blight running into walls is supposed to mean, why it happens etc. In short if there's a lorebase for it. And I wonder if it's this (and i haven't found any confirmation or debunk from the devs so far) blight IS based on Jekyll&Hyde, that has been stated somewhere (a dev or q&a stream i think?), so, couldn't it be that the running into walls is talbot trying2 comments 151 views last activity

This isn't meant to be another discussion on whether or not these things are legit tactics or not. I just wonder if it is reflected in the dev's stats. because, and I think this is something we agree on, reworks to a killer would likely be influenced by that. for example: Bubba has a high kill and pick rate, but is this due to him being a strong killer that's easy to handle, or because the numb10 comments 71 views last activity

And I don't mean '2nd chance builds because they're a meme in and on themselves' No, I mean things like the 'Cotton Eye Joe' build (Tinkerer/Dark Devotion/Bloodhound/whispers) or the 'Forest Spirit' (Spies/Trail of Torment/All Ears/Beast of Prey) builds13 comments 621 views last activity

The hooks are getting updated alongside the graphical updates to fit better with the maps, but what about other things? Like generators, or killer-specific things like pig's boxes or plague's fountains? Are they up to get a 'camouflage' variety too? Like having slightly more bulgy steampunk-ish gens on glenvale, or modern-ish drinking fountains on the meat plant?2 comments 41 views last activity

Been looking at HomeSweetHome:Survive for a bit now, and all in all, I have come to the conclusion it's not that much better than DBD. It can feel like it though, because of small things: Fighting back against the killer. marking items teleporting around maps daily pseudo-lootboxes better (?) skillchecks from bottom to top: Not better, just 'more complex' due to requiring more attention11 comments 331 views last activity

It's something I keep seeing in passing: A mention of there being a third (forth if you count dcs etc) to escape a trial no one supposedly has found yet? Is that a thing?6 comments 61 views last activity

Imagine if instead of a ranged killer Trickster would have been able to 'trap' everything survivors can interact with: gens, chests, totems, palets, etc. Like plague. And that if you interacted with the thing in question you'd get stuck on it and would either have to free yourself or get pulled off (similar to trapper's traps), and survivors would have had to find either a special items to reco2 comments 61 views last activity

Picking this up from another thread: The MacMillan maps, while not too bad, are quite lifeless, which in and on itself is an issue. But before that there's a definite disconnect between the maps and trapper's tome entry. Trapper's initial lore was extraordinary basic. Basic, but enough. But then his tome entry happens, putting him very well into a certain time-period (early 20th century) that2 comments 61 views last activity

At the emblems, you'll lose points if you've been standing round the hook for too long. However, if you are chasing a survivor in its proximity or damage a nearby gen, break a wall or reload (huntress and clown) and then move away (past proxycamping) you don't get the minus. So, why is it impossible to have a direct mechanic that punishes camping directly?7 comments 91 views last activity

Normally there's a mix of what kind of people play killer. There are even nice bubbas. but trickster? i dunno about you, but i have yet to see 1 (ONE) tricksterplayer that would not be scummy. Just one.38 comments 601 views last activity

Since the graphical update Autohaven has a weird lighting going that makes it rather hard to see no matter the quality one plays on. It feels like the odd lighting you get with a lunar or solareclipse, and while this can be neat it doesn't work too well with the green colourscheme. please overhaul it, I'd like to not mistake trashbags and tires for survivors.0 comments 31 views last activity

You might have seen it in some compilations or similar, but there's a bug that makes survivors invincible at the exit's threshold. has this been acknowledged/fixed?1 comments 31 views last activity

The Breakdown bug is the latest in a list of bugs and glitches that makes it (nearly) impossible for one side or the other to play a normal game. Yet abusing it (especially swf bringing at least 2 breakdowns and often petrified oak) is, as usual, not banable. Why are the devs so keen on encouraging scummy playstyles? While no surefire way to counter killers, here a more serious approach to how to counter some of the killers that are often viewed as having no/little counter. Deathslinger: Stealth is a good counter. He has little map mobility and pressure, but a smaller TR. Keep your eyes on your surroundings and dive behind cover when you spot him somewhere. When you are in a chase: Don't strife. He has a ver1 comments 41 views last activity

looking at the changes he'll undergo, we all know what we'll end up with: Iron Maiden + M&A builds en-masse. With a faster movement speed and the daggers being far more centred you just know this will happen and people will be calling to nerf him again, because he'll be mostly played by skillless twats.10 comments 131 views last activity

Think this is a reach? It isn't: So many people have advocated for a totem counter in ways that would make it fair to both sides. Instead we are getting something that once again only benefits SWFs (who apparently don't know how tallymarks on pen & paper work): Only people running SG will have the counter. Meaning unless you are in a SWF you might doom people without it looking for totems.4 comments 61 views last activity

Recently made a thread about people complaining they get no value out of the 2nd chance builds because I play my killers without tunneling, camping or slugging. And NOW people are complaining how horrible a nerf the new BT is for stealthkillers. However, BT now only works 12 seconds tops, meaning as a stealthkiller it only really affects your chance for a down/kill if your MO was stealthcampi37 comments 521 views last activity

I think the teddybears in the striped tshirt are the new graphic's golden toolboxes. At least since the autohaven/ormond update there's a little bear sitting around somewhere on the map (not as trickily hidden as the golden toolboxes, but still) I know where the one at bloodlodge, ormond and disturbed ward is, which have you found? We all know matchmaking is all over the place, that's no secret. So you'll semi-commonly will face purple and red ranks when you are somewhere in the two-digit ranks still. And here's something peculiar: I had it a few time now that people pretty much complain that I don't tunnel, camp or slug, because they didn't get any value out of their second chance build. Are... are people okay?7 comments 61 views last activity

Cause right now it's very much 'hey, you can't stun killers anymore, but they can't hook you either if someone has breakdown, so that's fair, right'? Really, do we have any word if the pallet bugs and and breakdown one are getting fixed with the hotfix patch?15 comments 561 views last activity

We all have our least favourite maps, but which singular element do you despise the most? Mine would be that absurdly long wall of cars on some autohaven maps. Is2g I'd push it over if I could.36 comments 302 views last activity

Now that we know they're overhauling him, here's what I hope they do: Make ricochet basekit, and increase the knives' power for each time it plings off something before hitting, so that less hits are needed (like 0 plings = 8 hits, 1 pling = 4 hits, 2 plings = 2, 3 pling = 1 hit) with a max of 3 plings reduce his range then a little. Whatever you might think about tunneling, camping and slugging, you have to admit that if DbD would be played officially competitive these approaches would probably get prohibited by the rules. And that's the point. the devs seem currently out to make dbd e-sports ready, yet they say tunneling etc are legit tactics, make things more exciting and that frustration is fun. Like... if they are awar71 comments 1,341 views last activity

Haven't found a bug report on this one yet, but M1ing as killer at a pallet prevents a stun. ( I guess it has something to do with new animations and animation/event hierarchy) (platform PC/steam)0 comments 21 views last activity

There's still a number of things getting consistently brought up when it comes to Deathslinger, especially when people try to make a case for a nerf. so, here's some common misconceptions: 'He can insta-shoot, it's so overpowered' There is a small delay, but more importantly he has a limited range and a miniscule hitbox. A hitDOT rather. So a Slinger who can insta-shoot a survivor over a distan17 comments 151 views last activity

the 'that's rude' challenge. So, assuming it *will* only count if you do point, I don't want anyone saying 'but the game can't tell if a player is doing X' ever again. If this quest is not just a load of nonsense and actually only counts if you point, then we can very well do something against camping, slugging, afk and other stuff. not to mention the possibilities for new gameplay elements4 comments 141 views last activity

A lot of us seem to agree that the devs need to stop with their, well, stubborn 'two new characters + cosmetics, maybe a map' routine when it comes to chapters. It's not panning out anymore, not as long as the game is as simple in its mechanics as it is. Therefore, should the chapters from here on be massive cosmetic bundles again (like the Headcase back in the day) that provide multiple themed4 comments 51 views last activity

with map wide attacks, try a sniping challenge on Pale Rose, Saloon and Sanctum. Stand on the main building and see how many down you can get in. (ShoutOut to the huntress who did just that on the boat. That was some amazing skill on display)0 comments 41 views last activity

Because, lbr, it does: you actually get more points if people don't heal you get more points the fewer gens are done while getting them damaged (aka chasing people off gens) now, i guess these things are intended to encourage chases but... practice shows that's not the case you can think of other ways the came encourages/rewards scummy playing?4 comments 61 views last activity

Now, I know a lot of you people don't take triggers (and i mean ACTUAL triggers, y'know, ptsd like stuff) serious and find it a ground for mockery (you oughta do some soulsearching), but for everyone else: Is anyone else showing a serious negative reaction to the trickster? I mean physical unwellness, panic states etc? This is the first killer where this happened, and I don't like it. Maybe52 comments 721 views last activity

Reading into their lore entries again... It makes me sad there's the implication that Bayshore and the warden perhaps survived after all while all of Caleb's posse died. Because if the 'mad mick massacre' IS a reference to when caleb stormed the prison, it means it got watered down instead of made weirder. such stories only get watered down when the wrong guys get to write history.1 comments 192 views last activity

The changes are good, lbr, but I'd suggest one change: Don't have DS wear off upon entering a locker if inner strength is active, or if you just tab a gen to stop it from regressing. the rest of the change can stay as it is.10 comments 211 views last activity

*points at the poll on twitter* Trickster won against ONI? Seriously? Trickster's mori looks like it's a placeholder animation that has nothing special about it, and he wins over ONI? Oni, deathslinger, ghostface and doctor ALL have unique, creative moris, trickster has a different camera position on his standard attack.62 comments 841 views last activity
