I noticed that a lot of Deathslinger's animations (walking, vaulting etc) are either glitched or look unpolished. Are they placeholders for smoother animations? Especially his leg phasing through vaults is a bit weird. And he's lacking his limp.2 comments 21 views last activity

Think about the character what you want, like him or not, think about his gameplay what you like... But I haven't seen a single other killer in the entire rooster for which their players/fans would get so much vicious, vitriolic backlash. You like Deathslinger? For whatever reason? Prepare to be told to ######### on a regular basis. For liking a character. I think the only other character who18 comments 241 views last activity

With the '5 min block' as it is now, they don't do any good. They should be dynamic. The game can tell what's been going on, so, if someone DCs because the killer's been slugging and waiting for people to bleed out, a DC could get no ban for the dcing survivor, but a 10 min ban for the killer. and a marker for why. As in: if they keep doing that, their ban time gets higher each time. Likewise,29 comments 311 views last activity

There are several perks that are very similar to each other, or look like they should be the same perk. Which perks do you think should be combined into a single perk? Bloodhound and deerstalker should be one perk, and be basekit IMHO. Same with Retribution and Undying. DMS and Tremors however should stay separate.26 comments 231 views last activity

Just had a couple of games that very much ended like this: Due to match making I (rank 17/16) got a few high ranks (upper purple and red) as Deathslinger. I'm in no way good, but in all these matches I got several hooks in and at least one of the high ranks kicked the bucket. And each time due to one very odd thing: Their unwillingness to change their tactics. Now, we all already knew that's63 comments 7,312 views last activity

Would it help balancing things if the points etc would be dynamic according to the match-ups? Like, if you get a killer that calls for stealth (deathslinger, ph, pig e.g.) you get more points for 'bold' moves and so forth than for chases? That when the game recognizes a swf they are affected in some way that balances things for the killer? The high map-pressure killers have the gens further apa0 comments 31 views last activity

Recently went 'sight-seeing' on the map with friends, and we found some buildings with names. Now the Livery is listed on the Wiki, but we also found what we are certain is the Bordello, but we can't read the name. We can read 'Lady' and the smaller 'rooms for rent' underneath. But the rest... does anyone know what the name is?0 comments 41 views last activity

If you ever watched a compilation of the soundfiles, you know the gurgling/choking sound some killers have. But I've never heard it ingame. Did I just miss something?11 comments 171 views last activity

Alright, honest question: Why do you say Huntress is fine (except iri heads) but Deathslinger isn't?This isn't bait, I'm genuinely curious. I know the onslaught of reasonings why Deathslinger is no fun to face (to the point of people calling for his removal from the game), and I'm sitting here 'But huntress is WORSE in thise regard'. Hear me out. Yes, Huntress has her humming, but here actual TR is the same as Caleb's, meaning she can benefit from M&A the same and it boils down to surv83 comments 2,421 views last activity

Most of us probably agree that the game needs a haunted carnival. So, what kind of map/maps would you expect to see in such set? One or two big maps with several 'attractions' as props, or full-fledged attractions as maps? For example, would a haunted house/rollecoaster work as map... especially when you'd have to stay away from the rails, cause otherwise the entity might take you for a ride? Now, LBH, the reason people whine how these to are 'boring' 'OP' etc is because people can not go for their stale, boring, overdone routine in a match. Look at it. Since the early days people are playing the exact same against every killer, regardless of ability or map possibilities: engage in chase, loop, flashlight, teabag, gen-rush. rinse and repeat. The game is a mess, there's no denying it. Bugs, Glitches etc. Now, a lot of people seem eager to immediately tell you devs don't care at all and just want to sell dlcs. to those I say: shut up. you people KNOW wages and servers need to be payed somehow. So, here's the thing: How many of you would be absolutely fine with NOT having any new killers or tomes for a while, and the capacitie0 comments 11 views last activity

The last couple of days I noticed the stuttering/rubberbanding that messed up the game after the ch17 release returning. especially when I played a custom match with a friend, it was absolutely messy. Anyone else having the issue again?3 comments 41 views last activity

On the map pool as it is now, 2:8 would, lbr, a mess. But what if a 2:8 mode came with adjusted maps that would do the following: the maps are larger, and there's an additional objective: you have to 'unlock' the area with the gates. this would go thus: the match starts like a regular 1:4 match on two sides of the map barred from each other and the gates area. survivors can unlock paths they (5 comments 61 views last activity

Alright, so so many of you think he's boring etc because you can't engage him in chases because of quickscoping etc. Usually people call for a massive delay, akin to Huntress. This would very much make him unplayable, as he has a limited range, unlike Huntress. Therefore, a compromise: He gets a delay, including a little animation that has a crosshairs pop up on his gun before he can shoot. P11 comments 111 views last activity

Let's be real: The main argument people bring up against some killers, calling for massive nerfs etc is 'they're no fun to play against'. Which usually translates to 'This killer requires me to drop the tactic I'm trying to use against ALL other killers, and their ability doesn't let me'. So, I think it's just fair to ask killer and survivor mains alike which survivor tactic they find most 'b11 comments 161 views last activity

The work-around doesn't work at all, and I have lost count how many attacks (as killer) and unhooks etc (as survivor) I missed due to M1 and M2 not registering at all. And I know I'm not alone with the issue.7 comments 21 views last activity

((I will update this with new theories etc as they come)) Locking at the Killers' abilities, it would seem the trouble with them and their (presumably non-existent) counterplay lies in how they were conceptualized to be played and countered (aka the issue is with players who fail to learn how to play them) --- Spirit: Given her powers, the intend seems to have been to stay in phasing as long a0 comments 31 views last activity

I'm talking about the head for the 'frontier vigilante' outfit. Deathslinger seems to be the only killer where ALL so far existing cosmetics's flavor texts add up to a coherent, continuous story. (love it) Except that head, that talks about this gangwar with the warden and bayshore backing different sides. Many in the community (from what I saw) agree that that single bit doesn't make sense.0 comments 21 views last activity

What if killers could decide which totem they can put which hex on? Like they'd have to actively find a totem and light it? (if we make gen progression a little slower at the start this should pan out decently for both sides, preventing getting genrushed and giving survs time to find dull totems)0 comments 41 views last activity

... is knowing your tropes. Lbr, every killer in the game embodies a type of horror/slasher archetype (if they are not outright said archetype). And this is where, at least on paper, their counterplay stems from. Take spirit: She IS meant to be the vengeful ghost, so the intended counterplay is to hide and keep quiet when you hear the sorrowful moaning on the wind. issue is simply people don't4 comments 51 views last activity

First up, I know how bait-y this will sound, but I'm genuinely curious: The main argument against him I keep seeing is how 'he's boring too face' usually with the explanation that you can not have 'interactive chases' against him. So, I do wonder: Facing a killer that requires you to shake up your gameplay is 'boring' while the same routine (chasing, juking, looping, etc) for every killer on e90 comments 1,162 views last activity

I think a lot of us are playing Among Us, aren't we... so... how we do this in dbd: Create a massive chapter that introduces survivor version of killer and killer versions of survivors (the unlicensed ones, naturally) Remove keys and moris from the bloodweb. Make a scavenger mode akin to Among Us, Werewolf and similar 'traitor' games. In this mode survivors search the map for items (emblems,2 comments 41 views last activity

I mean, how often do you see survivor mains utter the phrase 'Deathslinger/Spirit/PH has no counterplay because there is no interactive experience' when what they mean to say in plain English is 'I hate facing these killer because they require me to change my MO of genrushing and flashbagging at pallets, and instead actually pay attention to my surroundings' Likewise you have some killer main15 comments 131 views last activity

Here's something I observed when playing killer. i know mmr isn't on right now but: I recently switch my build on Deathslinger to Switch, Gearhead, Whispers and Bloodhound, after running the 'M&A, whispers, bbq, switch' combo for a while. Just curious. Assuming everyone is playing decently, both in skill and behaviour*, how long does the average match last? *meaning : no ds/unbreakable/etc combos, no teabagging etc for survivors, no noed/camping/slugging/tunneling for killers.2 comments 81 views last activity

How can Camping, slugging & Tunneling be part of the game when they are so crassly against the lore? The whole idea behind survivors being able to struggle and unhook each other is to keep up their hope of survival, right? So, if a killer is actively taking this hope away from denying the survivors the chance... wouldn't that go against what the entity brought them into the fog for?8 comments 101 views last activity

When you look at the various threads about what pisses people off most about the game, you will usually find the same list of bugs etc: Facecamping, tunneling, keys, moris, hitboxes, etc. To then see the devs say they are not focused on a health update, respectively that certain things like facecamping are 'part of the game' is truly devastating and discouraging. I'm talking of course about M1 and M2 not registering. I know there's a work-around for it (which doesn't work for me, thank you very much), but this shouldn't be an issue to begin with. Because I get the feeling very few people understand how there is a direct correlation between having more licensed character in the game and having few not-linked not-cells cosmetics: In order to be able to put a licensed character into a game, the company needs to acquire a license (duh!), a permission to use the character. This costs money and is often tied to restrictions etc. (sometimes it15 comments 793 views last activity

We know the game recognises WHO disconnects, even if it's not obvious from the scoreboard: If you play survivor, look how many people are running with you. If a survivor disconnected during the loading screen, they are absent from the field, even if it's not showing the DC icon on the board. This means the game knows who left. The mess that is the 4.2.0 patch shows that something is really amiss with how the PTB and testing there is handled. thus a suggestion: Make it easier to access the ptb: having one to replace the regular client with the ptb one is messy and probably one big factor that keeps people away. test till it works. the whole approach to 'fix' something and then not test it before it goes live broug10 comments 81 views last activity

I know what the wiki says and I know what the map looks like, but... something 'bout it strikes me as odd. Hellshire's in Nebraska (see Zarina's lore), Caleb's from South Dakota (see the behind the scenes vid), and given everything the whole thing strikes me as off. We all agree coding is a pain in the arse. One illegal mixing of tabs and spaces, one indentation too much or too little, one missing if and everything goes haywire. But the amount of bugs this update brought (none of them on the ptb for god knows what reasons) is absurd. The game has become unplayable to many players, regardless of platform or machine its run on. I know you are aware of the0 comments 41 views last activity

Let's make a compromise here: Purple and Pink keys can only (very rarely) be found in chests* Green keys can be brought in, and addons for it can be found either in chests or a new 'keyring' item that can be found throughout the map, that can also be picked up by the killer. (maybe giving either side a bonus if not used/picked up) How does that sound? *or be upgraded if we even get some perk0 comments 11 views last activity

...I'm sitting here wondering Ok... so, you have one killer without much variety in gameplay, and playing counsellor means you pick one objective and go about it with a set MO, and you technically have the most toxic DbD perks be overpowered basekit (so to speak). ( see the write-up of the dev stream ) saying they won't add more gestures out of worry they'd be abused is frankly absurd. I know a good number of people think of classic slasher movies when they think about what maps should be in dbd, but hear me out: A giant, abandoned manor, by the cliffs over a silent dark lake, the forest bordering its walls, fading into an overgrown garden full of deadly plants. if we assume we say the entity gives everyone who needs it unlimited breath and means to use their powers underwater, would an underwater/semi submerged map (ghost ship? haunted lagoon? flooded mine?) work? LBR, the devs are pretty good with backstories. What I wonder now, should this be made use of when it comes to the actual matches? Like, that with killers like Billy, Deathslinger and Pig, who all know how to mess with anything with gears, you'd have an automatic mini-Ruin in place (making gens take longer and regress slightly faster, but not on the same level as ruin), in turn barring them from2 comments 31 views last activity

I've been talking to a friend about the 4.2.0 update and the bugs and stuttering it brought, and we wondered if this might be caused by a background preparation in the maps and character animations for graphical updates. This can happen, but frankly: Don't. Or at least: Don't do it UNTIL you have the new graphics ready to go after being publically tested extensively . Coming in from another thread: There's a lot of challenges that call for being toxic, especially for killers: Close hatch X times, sacrifice x times during EGC, etc.* Seeing that these challenges ' barely' reward anything (usually 'just' BP and a few fragments (usually 3)) but are often blocking one from the memories, the next tome should make sure there's more challenges that are, well, chal5 comments 101 views last activity
