If we can have it renamed to this- utterly YES.

“Exposed” should be officially renamed to “Reduced Brutality Resistance”. The skull icon should be replaced with “RBR!” inside a circle.

New players will think it stands for what I said above, but those of us in the know.....we'll know! 😉

  • Really?! I’m the only one to choose Spies so far?!? I’m flabberghasted!

I've had countless matches where I constantly ricochet between survivors because I know exactly where a nearby one is moving around. I would drop any of the others in the list from my loadout long before touching Spies!!

Why is everyone promoting and demanding to ban people from the game ? For a game they bought with real money in the real world over losing virtual points in a game they think they deserved ?

Why not remove a certain amount of perks and add ons as a "punishment" for a DC ? Imagine losing one level of perks of all characters for an intentional DC and the amount of time it takes to get those back - i think that would have a much better educational effect on people...

And why even punish people for it ? There may be reasonable causes like network instability, playing over WLAN, mail delivery or whatever. Why not grant the other party the maximum points and pips possible for a disconnecting player ? Nobody would lose anything who was subject to a DC and there would be less reasons to complain. I am sure one could come up with a mechanic that would allow a certain compensation for the remaining survivors to offset a disconnecting team member as well. Less skillchecks for a certain time or more progress for excellent skill checks passed or less penalty for working together for 1-2 gens or something like that....

    1) If someone keeps disconnecting intentionally, then they aren't even playing the game anyway. They spend more time at the campfire, so they are getting the full game-price value, punishment or no, since this is the area of the game where they choose to spend their time.

    2) By disconnecting, they are diminishing the experiences of up to 4 other people who have also paid for the game and who are actually trying to play it.

    3) Network issues occur, agreed. But the fact that they occur so regularly the moment a survivor's face hits the ground is one heck of a coincidence! Nonetheless, there should be a few safety DC's. Let's say you get 3 in a day. On the 4th, and every one thereafter that day, you incur a 15 minute timeout. If you intentionally DC, this hurts. If you are having network issues, by the time you get your modem and other equipment checked out and restarted, the 15 minutes should be about done anyway.

  • To be clear, does it block windows ANY time your aura is revealed (minus the cooldown)?

As in, if any one survivor uses Alert, OoO, etc.? Or if you use Rancor?

The marijuana industry is gonna take of over the next decade. Soon we'll all be drinking Marijuana flavored coca cola, marijuana ice cream and of course marijuana coco pops. That's as long as public opinion of it's use continues to go the way it is going.

    -Sigh- please no..... 😞

Edit: (your comment doesn’t show above. This is in regard to your marijuana post.)

I believe that they designed him with his portals being the main part of his ability, with his shred being secondary.

... But the shred is honestly the most useful part of his kit. So it's a shame that he only has 3 Add-ons that affect his shred. And not even in a significant way. To me is most comparable to ghost face. His power is designed around marking people. But it's so niche that you only ever really use it when you hit a situation that it serves well. You primarily use the shroud to get rid of your terror radius and red stain for mindgames. This means his best Addon are the three he has that increase his power recovery speed, and none that affect his stalk.

Demo is the same way. You can use the portals, but for the most part you work for them harder than they even help you. So his best Add-ons will always be the few that affect his shred and he won't have any that change his power in helpful ways. It's sad really.

Seriously. You hit the nail on the head there!

Here’s an idea! How about an ultra rare where we “tremendously” increase shred recovery time, but reduce portals to 2 (or 0).

You know, since portals are supposedly so powerful that they make up his main power, this trade-off should make Demogorgon very difficult to use, eh? -sarcasm btw-

Heck, if it removes portals, the devs should be fine making this a brown add-on. I’m sure noooobody would eeeeever use it! Cuz we just can’t get by without portals.... 🙄

  • I would say things are relatively balanced. The only thing that breaks the balance is coordinated SWF with comms, which the devs can’t control. In such instances, when you get info from the outside that you wouldn’t have access to if you follow the game’s parameters, survivors end up with a huge advantage.

  • Not sure about the trends for South America, but I have definitely noticed that time of day makes a huge difference. Before noon, wait times are long. On weekends, it picks up after that. On weekdays, it remains slow until about 4:30. Central US time zone for me

  • @Horus You seems to have all the right personality traits.....

What percentage of matches do you rage-quit from? Asking for a friend

  • As long as Insidious is a thing....

  • Flop flap flop flap schloop schloop.... Raaaaaaaaaaawr!

    Guess who?

  • I don’t have an opinion about Spirit one way or the other.

All I can say is with a discussion title like that, you’re kinda tempting fate there buddy....

It’s kinda like saying “they’ve done enough to The Pig. They’ll NEVER nerf her again!” Then we find out some crazy new rule that her stalk isn’t “basic stealth” and therefore doesn’t qualify for “undetectable”, and to keep things consistent across killers, “undetectable” will be the only way to have no terror radius. ie, terror radius when crouched.

Ok, that was a tangent. The point is, don’t tell those who wield the “nerf gun” that they’ll never touch your killer. You’re just daring them to take a shot...

  • That’s incredible! The, erm, “quote” from demogorgon seals your genius in perfect product packaging!

what difficulty? the rift works with the XP of devotion, it's literally so easy to level up, including the archives and the rest PLUS 70 days of rift time, you're practically able to finish it in no time, even if you play 5 matches a day

I’ve been seeing posts from those on the PTB about ridiculously difficult challenges (ie sacrifice all survivors in basement, get 4 grabs in the same game, catch all 4 survivors in bear traps in 1 match, etc.).

others I’ve read about are very unhealthy for the community (use NOED to sacrifice 2 survivors, for example).

i don’t know about it being related to devotion or not, but these examples rely on a hefty amount of luck, even for master players. Just 1 survivor disconnecting can screw people over for finishing their challenges, and it seems some of the challenges seem designed to encourage disconnects.

to me, all of this combined paints a pretty clear picture that this is designed to prevent the vast majority of people from ever completing all the challenges. (in other words, pay for a battle pass, but don’t expect to earn your auric cells back. Then, as a result, pay again when the next season starts).

  • Check out the DBD Wiki on perks. This’ll tell what they are and, when you see ones you like, which characters to level up to earn them.

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Perks

if you don’t like clicking on links (better safe than sorry, eh?) then just search online for “DBD perks”.

when you see how they work, you can strategize how to counter them.

since you’re doing survivor right now, study the killer perks. Some of the most commonly used perks are:

    • BBQ & Chili
    • A Nurse’s Calling
    • Hex: Ruin
    • Hex: No One Escapes Death (common at lower ranks where you’re likely playing right now, with more inexperienced killers)

Study up on these for sure, and just assume that every killer is using the first 2. Study the others as well and try to think of some counterplay. For example, for the above perks:

    • get into a locker BEFORE the downed teammate gets hooked. You can also position an unfinished generator between you and the estimated hook area so that the killer’s only sees the gen aura (hint, don’t work in it or your butt might hang out the side.) Finally, you could move in closer to the hook since your aura isn’t revealed at close range.
    • if you know the killer is near, stop healing until he leaves the area. If killers tend to find you quietly healing in good hiding spots, this is why.
    • find and cleanse the “hidden” (sometimes clearly visible) hex totem (has a flame at the bottom).
    • cleanse non-lit, dull totems as you find them, before the last gen is finished. (Note: whether hex or dull, there are always 5 totems total on the map.)
  • @artist said:

catch me suciding on hook avoiding any dc punishments but getting the same results as dcing

Yes, but you’re at least leaving the game in a gameplay-based manner if you do this.

    • The killer gets points and hook stacks (which you wouldn’t care about since you’re screwing your team over anyway.)
    • You end up with a few bloodpoints for your trouble.
    • Your team actually benefits from a little extra time during the carrying process.
    • You may be surprised once in a while by an unexpected flashlight save, and now the game is back on! No lobby wait necessary
  • I would say to use him as an electric-aura-based killer. When in therapy mode, the passive shock that causes nearby survivors to scream is equal to your terror radius. Survivors in this zone will see their madness consistently increase as well, which makes screams more likely.

Therefore, perks like Distressing can increase your terror radius size to keep those screams coming!

Combine that with Unnerving Presence and Huntress Lullaby, and skill checks will become very frequent, very small, and have wrongly-timed warning sounds (or none at all). In other words, some survivors may find it very difficult to ever “snap out of it”. This brings gen progress to a halt, and gives you constant notifications of survivor locations through screams, missed skill checks, and the yellow-aura phantoms of yourself (which, as I’m sure you knew, will always be looking in the direction of a nearby survivor.)

The 4th perk could be anything you want. I might suggest BBQ if your goal is bloodpoints. If you’re just playing to play, maybe Sloppy a Butcher to further slow them down with long healing times.

  • I actually like the idea, but yes, people would be annoyed.

The simple solution is to have ads disabled by default. If people want to see them, then they have to actively opt-in by toggling some switch or or “agree” button something. And, of course, they can turn it back off too.

This would then end up as a steady source of ad revenue for Behavior from people like me who would NEVER spend actual cash on silly cosmetics in a video game. If I could earn them by watching ads while waiting in lobbies though, well THAT’S a different story!

  • @Chordyceps said:

It sounds like it could be an interesting killer if it were a bit more fleshed out. He should probably have an additional power to either help in chases or apply map pressure. I have my doubts that steampunk would fit in with the game's aesthetic though.

Yeah, you’re prolly right about the aesthetic. That can be changed. Maybe he’s dressed as a Fighter pilot instead.

The main thing behind this killer was to give him a different power category. The way I see it currently, killer powers make it easier to chase (traps), hit (clown), or down (chainsaw). Nothing help with hooking though. So that was the inspiration.

I would like to give him another ability too, but it should be relatively weak. Giving him the extra hunting time and freedom from carrying survivors is very powerful. He can chase down others who are trying to blind his drone, or go off elsewhere to kick gens, or start in the direction of where he expects to see BBQ auras once the hooking is complete.

I think a secondary power should also involve drones. Perhaps surveillance drones which feed him black and white, top down photos of survivors (popping in at the top right of the screen). He won’t know where the photos are from, but can pick out environmental details that he recognizes when he gets to the area (like certain jungle gym shapes, tractors, killer shack, certain junkyard car stacks, etc.). This would need to be worked out for indoor maps somehow though.

I don't know. If anything it just seems a bit of an "OFF topic" type of post. I also take naming and shaming to be more you are insulting/accusing them of exploit etc.... like not positive things basically.

I agree, and it certainly would be off-topic. I’m assuming that anything allowing people to search account names would be frowned upon, regardless of a positive vibe (though any positivity is welcome in my book!).

Too bad, cuz dang! Some of these names had me laughing out loud and the world needs to know them! 😋

  • if you went back in time 5 years (or 10 if you’re over 25), what advice would you give your younger self?

  • At first I didn’t “main” any killer and just bounced around between them. But then Hag became my number 1 for a really stupid reason. She was my first killer to get tier-3 BBQ, so I used her as my main source of bloodpoints! Then I got to be pretty good with her. Now she’s my main!

  • That’s why I can’t wait for a Mars Attacks licensed killer! Gotta show off those pulsating lobes!

(Full disclosure, I am not implying that I’ve ever heard any rumors about such a killer actually being considered...)

  • Wrong? No.

    Irritating? Yes

I don’t tunnel unless you’ve done the “toxic trifecta” of hyper-teabagging, flashlight clicky-clicky, and constant fast pallet-jumps when I’m not chasing you. (That last one is annoying AF and the main reason I want you out of the game!)

On a related note, I see it happen all the time where survivors come back to work on generators that are partially complete instead of moving on to new ones with 0 progress. Isn’t THAT tunneling by the same definition?

  • If you want to make a SWF tax (and I like this concept btw), I say tax their loadout.

swf 2: each of those 2 players loses the ability to choose add-ons for their items.

swf 3: in addition to no add-ons, each swf player has 1 perk slot grayed out.

swf 4: no add-ons and 2 perk slots grayed out.

This seems fair to me since the extremely common com usage in SWF makes up for missing perks. The lack of add-ons can help make up for coordinated pre-game planning (ie “you use Leader and I’ll bring a toolbox with high efficiency and BNP”)

  • Just to be clear, and I’m genuinely curious, is it possible to “beat the system”?

    • 1,000 auric cells for premium pass.
    • earn 1,000 cells during play period.
    • spend those same cells again to go premium for the next period.
    • rinse and repeat.

Do we think the “free” version will ever reward Auric cells so that it’s possible to save up and go “premium” without actually paying?

If you don’t spend your newly earned cells while playing premium, do you still earn your premium cosmetics and such?

(For the record, I’ve never done battle passes of any type before, so this is a very new mechanic for me as you can likely tell.)

    Thanks!

  • Oh yeah, whoops..... 🙃

  • Where’s the “recover/find help” option for those of us who spend significant time on our bellies?

  • Reading your own perks/add-ons would be fine, but there’s a need for secrecy when talking about your opponent’s loadout.

For example, if you went to read what the killer’s Haunted Ground hex was (as his only hex perk), you would then avoid cleansing any totems that round.

Likewise, if the killer sees you have Decisive Strike, he’ll just leave you on the ground for a minute before picking you up.

By not knowing these things, both sides have to decide if these risks are worth it or not, since something bad COULD happen.

Im afraid you’ll just have to learn descriptions like you did with the red jump rope. But hey, that one has certainly been learned now, huh?!

  • The longer a survivor runs, the louder they pant and gasp, and the longer it takes to quiet down.

The longer a killer chases a survivor, the quicker the scratch marks fade.

I think these are relatively equal nerfs which change the escape/hide dynamic after a chase to make things more fun. It increases the tension and desperation of both players.

  • She’s quick. I think buffing her with faster window vaults would make a difference.

That or let her actually crouch down to a hide-in-the-grass height like it seems from her camera perspective.

Wow that’s definitely not been my experience. Played all day and had maybe 3 matches with him.

I find him to be exceptionally fun to play against, so I wish more people used him. Even though people can learn to counter his powers, I find him to have an intensity that most others killers simply don’t match. It mostly comes from the audio though, now that I think about it.

Terrible idea. That would make the perk nearly worthless. Maybe if it was 64 meters. Or maybe if it ended if you get healed to full health. Maybe lowering the stun duration to 4 seconds. But 16 meters is a joke.

Ok that’s editable. 24 meters? 36? It needs to be enough to say the survivor reached safety, but not so much that they can just chase to killer around from a distance to maintain the DS timer.

Yu p. Would basically mean slugging last survivor once exit gates are open a free escape or hatch (so long as they had just been hooked).

First, the 60 second timer would still apply. This is simply an additional circumstance.

    • If you come down and the killer chases you the whole time, then hints work exactly as they do now.
    • If you come down and killer is far away, DS doesn’t activate.
    • If you come down and killer is near, DS is normal until you escape beyond 16 meters, and then it deactivates because you made it to safety. Thus “anti-tunnel” has been successful.
    • If the killer slugs you, he still has to decide if he’s going to run around for a minute or just risk picking you up.

Second, not every perk works every time anyway. Spine Chill vs tier 1 Myers. Borrowed Time vs Freddy. And now, yes, Spirit/Nurse MAY have an advantage with this, but it’s not guaranteed. It’s still up to you, the survivor, to be spotted and downed.

Btw, the reason I went for 16 meters as opposed to terror radius is so that Freddy wouldn’t be strong against this AS WELL AS borrowed time.

  • I suggest we keep it as is, but add one extra line to the description:

”Decisive Strike deactivates once you are more than 16 meters from the killer and NOT in the dying state.”

(This way the killer can’t down you, walk away, come back, and be safe. Once you’ve gotten this far away, if you get downed again quickly it’s your own fault.)

  • Depends. They let you try out characters that cost real money, but you don’t get to use perks on them. If you already have an opinion about a killer, then it’s not worth it. If you want to sample a killer before spending cash, totally worth it.

And then, if you’re like me where you own all the killers but still get splinters in the bloodweb, they’re really just a headache!

    I have a idea:

Hex: World of Delirium - The Entity is inspired by your odd behaviors and spreads it to others. While this Hex is active, all Skill Checks for Survivors become Delirious Skill Checks. Skill Checks also become 5%/10%/15% more frequent.

Delirious Skill Checks are uncontrollable, unpredictable Skill Checks that are much more difficult to hit. They can appear in random places, rotate rapidly in place, cause the red Skill Check slash to begin from the left instead of the right and move more quickly or slowly. These effects can stack randomly with no limit on how many are allowed at once.

Downing a Survivor and letting them recover from the dying state grants 1 token, up to a maximum of 5 tokens. Each token increases the chances of more effects being added by 7%/14%/28%.

This perk cannot be used with Hex: Ruin.

Ooooh. Imagine that with Huntress Lullaby! 😈

  • (Screams in loud noise notification bubble)

  • I would like to suggest a system that would be simple to implement and maintain as new characters continue to be introduced.

For killers AND survivors, divide the characters up into classes based on the 4 emblem categories.

The main benefit of your class is a 5th perk slot limited to 1 related perk(or maybe up to 3-4 to choose between). The secondary benefit is that the maximum bloodpoints in your class category is increased by 2,000 points. (For example, if your character is in the Altruism class, then you can earn a max of 10,000 altruism points instead of the current 8,000.)

    Examples:

    Survivors

Survival class: Extra perk is Decisive Strike (or choose between this and Self Care or Sprint Burst). Meg, Adam, etc.

Objective class: Extra perk is Leader (or choose between this and Prove Thyself or Resilience). Feng, Quinten, Dwight, etc.

Altruism class: Extra perk is Autodidact (or choose between this and Empathy or Borrowed Time). Claudette, Kate, etc.

Boldness class: Extra perk is Dead Hard (or choose between this and Lithe or Balanced Landing). David, Bill, etc.

    Killers

Brutality class: Extra perk is Unrelenting (or choose between this and Spirit Fury or Nurse’s Calling). Hag, Plague, etc.

Deviousness class: Extra perk is Monitor & Abuse (or choose between this and Make Your Choice or Franklin’s Demise). Wraith, Myers, etc.

Sacrifice class: Extra perk is Agitation (or choose between this and Hangman’s Trick or Mad Grit). Trapper, Doctor, etc.

Hunting class: Extra perk is Shadowborn (or choose between this and Bloodhound or Spies form the Shadows). Huntress, Leatherface, etc.

  • It can’t be a sandwich because you cut it wrong! Supposed to go down, with the diagonal cut from corner to corner. That’s all that matters. Everybody knows that! 🙃
