Ignore it. Devs won´t do much about it, and when dedicated Servers come, its not an issue anymore.
I was accused of lagswitching too, but its usually the survivor that has a bad connection to you, but no technical know how to determine the cause.
-
Well, i am colorblind, and thats why i suck in chases. i cant see scratch marks, and on several maps not even generator auras (or survivor auras with perks) (this was improved, but on at least 2 maps i still can´t see them). Nevertheless, i like playing both sides. But against good survivors (which usually derank oder swf to hit me poor rank 10 killer with their two rank 2 friends) i need some strategie that does not relay on seeing that. What is your proposal for me, then? Since its hard for me to find them, and they might loose me faster than other killers, what is my compensation for not using the only taktic availible to me if i get the wrong map?
-
I disagree that dying on the hook is the same as disconnecting. I don´t disconnect (other than rare circumstances, like a survior hiding for 30+ minutes on an emty map), but i let myself die on the hook from time to time.
But the reason usually is none of the above. It is if i don´t want to play with my fellow survivors, because they play very anti-team. You want an example? we go against a trapper, and one guy is chased but at full health. i step into a trap, and that survivor then runs at me, so the killer decide to get the easy target, and he gets away. I had bound, so i saw him changing his course to run to me.
And behaviour like that is actually common. Yesterday, i had found the ruin-totem and tried to cleanse it, even though the killer was near. So another survivor dropped a pallet behind me to lead the killer to us, and have me chased, so he could cleanse it himself. Often those guys are part of an swf.
Yes, stuff like that makes me not want to play with that team. and then i let myself die from the first hook.
And i dont belive that is wrong, because its a reaction of anti social behaviour of random people i happen to be teamed up with. Try to play as a team, und even if you are not good, i will help you. Even if that means i struggle and die on the hook while the killer camps and you do gens. -

No, stupid. Adrenaline is the survivors NOED. It doubles the amount of hits u take to get down and NOED halves it. Stop complaining about the hatch. Slug for your 4 man or stop thinking your entitled to a 4 man. Honestly. What? If i am uninjured, the killer needs 4 hits to take me down? I really should use that perk then.
-
I usually tell them that their wailing excites me, because i can sacrifice their tears to the entity, too.
-
gens are now better on most maps, scratch marks and blood are next to not existend.

Like my god can someone please tell me what the point of playing killer is if I'm versing 4 perfectly coordinated survivors.at least during the event I can dc so they don't get there 25 lunar points.First of, i hope they ban you for dc in to screw survivors over.
Second, can you tell me what is the point of not playing swf if it is balanced around 4v1, but random you have a disconnect within the first minute of the game in about 40% of games?
The fact that you have fellows that dont disconnect on you, that don´t let you hang or throw the game so they get the most points for me is the main point on swf.
(and i play 80% of my games solo).
So, what do you propose to fix the balancing for the survivors if one or two of them disconnect? And don´t tell me about "bad luck for the survivors", because the fix of that is swf. -
If it were a team game, points would be gained for the team, not individuals. If one survivor distracts the camping killer while another one unhooks, one takes the risk and the other one the points.
Also, survival points are only based on individual survival, not the survival of team members.
If it were a team game, how would that make sense? -
Well, tunneling and camping does something that the devs seemingly can´t do: slow the game down.
And against randoms, there are enough altruistic players that you dont have to worry about genrush.Even better, you camp the first one till he´s dead, then noone will even come for the second one you got until you dowed the third one...makes the game a lot easier.
-
Well, i used to play claudette till jeff came out. Jeff looks basicly like me, 10 to 15 years ago (well, i had red hair and beard, and the face was different, but hairstyle, beard, dressstyle and a little belly where all in it), so now i main him unless i want to be extra stealthy.
-
yet, many do it regardless.
-
Well, i try to be more like the op to be true. I had it often enough: only 2 left, and i am the one doing gens, and therefore getting found. The last 3-4 games i had that, i stopped doing gens and went looking for the other survivor instead. (i usually use bound, because i like to know where my teammates are.) All of them were hiding nowhere near a gen, waiting for me to do one and get caught. One of them saw me and even dropped a pallett to alarm the killer to where we are, and tried to get away then...
so basicly, i am done with playing constructivly when there are only 2 players left. Let them die on the hook (which they did to me too), let them bleed out, let the damn generators be generator unfixed.
I simply don´t care about random allys anymore, because mostly, they dont care about me.

but once you bring a flashlight into a match you are automatically toxicThe problem with the flashlight is this: you need some experience to use it as a survivor, and against equally experienced killers, it is not that powerfull, because they know how to avoid it. The flashlight becomes a problem, once you have a skill difference between an expericend flashlight user and a not equally experienced killer.
They usually only meet because of swf, and thats why its toxic. -
First, its very effective to do a gen alone, as the time you gain if more survivors work on one doesn´t get down proportionaly.
but doing a gen alone gives about half the points you get for doing a gen with someone else. The same holds true for unhooking. its not efficient to have 3 players swarm the hook, so you better do gens. But unhooking a survivor nets you 1500 points in no time.
Basicly, some people sacrifice their own bloodpoint-gain for the sake of the team making it out.
-
Well, i feel i become more toxic to my fellow survivors now, because of the things i experience.
They unhook you in front of the killer, then bodyblock you to get safely away themself.
They are in a chase with the killer, see you hiding/healing up, and run past you several times, until the killer finally notice you and takes you down.
You are near the hook and want to do a safe unhook, but they rush in, triggering the hags traps just so they get the unhooking points.
Against a trapper, one got downed next to the hex-totem, and while i wanted to heal her, i got caught in the bear trap she concealed with her body. I think she did it on purpose, because she thought noone could get the hextotem without healing her.
And yes, after things like that, i sometimes give up on the hook. But latlely i started to join them. I try to get the unhook for myself, and dont care about their saftey anymore (well, thats not entirely true, if the killer is too close i still shield them with my body, and try to lure the killer away).
But since i use bound in every setup, i can easily find a distraction for the killer chasing me. They do it to my, why should i not?
At least, now i get a decent amount of bloodpoints each game, even if the team often looses. -
I just reportet to players for holding the game hostage because they wouldnt leave for about 5 minutes after both exits where open and no survivor was in trouble.
-
And since it is about representation, can she weight at least 240 Pounds?
-
I would rather like a "You are being banned for 12 hours"-Message for people who purposly disconnect.
-
Well, is there a way i play against you? Because in my game, ruin is in every game, and in about 20% its found when either 3 gens are already done or 2 surviors are dead. It gets brocken 1 minute after gamestart, which i would see about 10-15% of my time as survivor. The other 65% its not found by game start, but if people start looking for it, it dies after about 3 minutes into the game, and some games the survivors dont care about it at all.
So i wonder, where do you get your numbers from? Is it just bad luck?
Or why differ your numbers that highly from mine? -
Well, i play wraith sometimes, and i didn´t know about it. So just saying "they know exactly what they are doing" is simply false. But then, i play on pc anyway
-
I disagree with TwistedRusty.
First, while camping is annoying, there are times when it is needed and is a viable strategy. Teabagging however, is purly used to disrespect the player who just happens to play the other fraction of a game.
-
I don´t know what happened, but those changes are not all for good. While i can see auras better now, i can´t see other things on the map as killer. I lose survivors right in front of me, can´t see scratch marks (but those were a problem anyway). I don´t know if its a thing of the frame rate or something else, but playing killer got worse for me.
-
Yes, i like Claudette because of her camo. But then, i need the easy mode, since my skill is not that high anyway. I seldom lose a killer in a chase, and chases don´t go long with me, because i get caught quite quickly. Thats why i reley on hiding, and its more fun for me anyway.
But i never hide just to get the hatch. i do gens (and thats why i get caught, while the other player hides), and i try to rescue them on the hook, even if i already know where the hatch is (but only in the beginning did i show other survivors the hatch if i found them. i learned from that).
-
thats what random does. Just buy leatherface and be done with it. i did, and it was worth it.

Just don't dc. Pick the Wraith, go invisible (so they can't find you and bully you), and hide in a corner somewhere until the match is over. That way you depip and the survivors get their points. Win win.But that is an offense, isn´t it? I would consider it refusing to play the game, which is named in the reporting options.

Hands down the most toxic community I've ever seen. The only game where I have to make my steam profile private and change my username constantly. That is totaly my post. Never have i ever encountered a community this toxic, and i play games (pc, console, board, and cards) in different communitys for over 35 years now, and started online games about 21 years ago. I never had my steam profile private before i played this game. now it is. Change my name from time to time.
The main problem from my perspective is the fact that a lot of players are killer or survivors only (or at least it seemed to be that way). In other games, your enemy today can be your ally tommorow, and since most games are symetrical, most people tend to see the same problems. Here, the "solo-playmode-players" have absolut oppsite goals and views, with some player like myself playing both sides almost equaly.
To me, toxic is mainly disrespecting your fellow gamers, no matter which role they take in this game.
Thats why i belive tbagging is toxic, because in the majority of cases it is meant to be.But most of the time, its not the killer that is toxic (although that might happen too): Most of the time its the survivors, basicly encoraged by bad game design. Endless looping is as boring and frustrating as camping and tunnelning, but all three are not only fair strategy, but sometimes needed to achive your objective. But being on the receiving end can feel very toxic (especially when one side uses additional advantages, that makes the strategy more effective, and sometimes unnessesary (like having a rank 1 runner with his swf rank 13 vs the rank 13 killer, or being an experienced killer in lower ranks due to rank reset or deranking.
Also the excessive points one single player gets from unhooking (while the one luring the killer away or just being a second too late or just being more cautious (or the one not wanting to do the unhook while in terror radius)) promotes a "me vs other survivors" mentality.
A redesign for assigning bloodpoints might help here (no extra points for hatch, only 2k for survivel yourself, + additional blookpoints for each other surviving teammate).
-
Well, not every swf group is full of hard fighters. I like to play swf, just because you know that:
a) noone is going to disconnect or just give up on the hook because reasons
b) fellow survivor will not just hang you out to dry by intentionally leading the killer to you while you heal up, cleanse a hex totem or such stuff (which i encounter as solo survivor more and more often)
c) they dont let you hang to hatchcamp (wich some people already start with just one survivor dead, if they accidently found the hatch. i know, i use a lot of aura-perks and am often aware what my fellow surivors do).All put togehter, i am usually more concerned about my fellow survivor as a solo player than about the killer and his playstyle. Thats why swf is simply needed.
But on the other hand, as a killer i encountered 4swf-teams which where abolutly horrible to play against.
the first brought in 4 purple flashlights and took turns blinding me, the second team had me vastly outclassed in chases, and then after the gens where done and the gates where open didnt leave but came to me, basicly chasing me. one got hit, another blocked my while 2 others heal the one hit. Add flashlights, pallets, endless loops and everything else fun for survivors. Both teams had 3 red-rank players and one in the lower ranks, so they could get paired against my rank 12 killer.
Thats basicly when i stopped trying to play "fun and fair". Since then, i tunnel, bodyblock, camp, you name it.
Sure, not every game, and highly dependent on the killer i play, but before that, i tried other playstyles. -
First of: I have a keyboard macro to struggle, so i cannot fail that. Yet, i did in several games. Only explanation is lagspikes or something like that. You want to punish people for that?
Also, i did suicide myself this way, and i have no bad feelings. But i do it on rare occasions, and always because i got a ######### team.
You want examples? I had the perk where you can see people you unhooked, and they see you.
I was hurt and healing myself, and a fully healed survivor, to which i had that connection, lead the killer straight to me. But wait, the killer didn´t see me, so he did it again 2 additional times, till the killer switched and downed me.Also i had teammates unhooking me right before the killer, then bodyblocking me (again, they were fully healed) to get away and i take the hit.
Tell me, why should i waste my precious time to help such people farm more points?
No, such players deserve to lose the game. Also, i just had 2 games, where one player is dead, me and another survior try to fix the last gen, while the 3rd one starts hatchcamping with 2 other players left...and of course, he is not going for the unhook.
(i love my auraperks, and so i often know where my fellow survivors are. i saw them doing that, and not unhooking me after my first hook, while the killer wasn´t near them or me...)
Fact is, if survivors act like that toward their team, why should you be punished for not being part of said team? it basicly says don´t play outside swf.
-
Well, i had several game where i was slugged and crawled to the hatch and escaped.
sometimes i found the hatch by accident, sometimes i knew where it were.So you still can escape. For your idea to be challanging, the hatch-standoff needs to be solved, because else there would be no challange to the survivor, and your proposal was to be a challange for both.
-
well, i play survivor on rank 1-3, and i very rarly encounter lagproblems. but usually,i leave lobbys with a ping above 120ms.
Also, as the killer does the hosting, depending on his machine, lags might happen, especially in chases, where a lot of the game dynamics change. I was acused for lagswitching as a killer, and i know for sure i didn´t do it.
So i give other killers the benefit of the doubt, too. -
Yes, i propose 2 changes: Get rid of the bonus for the hatch, and base survival points on the number of survivors that actually survived instead of a fixed point system for your own survival.
Might help with hookfarming. -
hatch is fine, but i would get rid of the bonus points for using it.
-
well, i hate the swf-imbalance in the game. But the problem arises, if they remove it, it is the only workaround for survivors that disconnects and leave the game imbalanced (because its balanced around 4v1, not 3v1 or 2v1), or survivors that play just for themself, hookfarm and hatchcamp. Do you nerf killer so 3v1 would still be fair? Then the killer loses once noone disconnects.
To avoid that, swf is needed in this game. I think it should be 2 different lobby systems, one casual without swf, and one competetive with swf. Both could then be tuned differently, like casual as it is now, just without swf, and the competetive crowed can be balanced by boosting the killer (more perks, slightliy increased movement speed, more bloodpoints, not loosing addons (unless at least 2 surivors escape) or nerfing the survivors (only 3 perks per survivor, or every perk is unique (means only one survivor can have any given perk).
Just getting rid of swf doesn´t help the game because of the people who play it....
-
I am curios, at what rank are you playing?
I play survivor at rank 5 and killer at rank 4 at the moment, and none of my matches are that short.
-
Well, the points you can get are actually limited to 8000 per category, and this limit is the same for killer and survivors.
But it all depends on the survivors. If you are the only one doing gens (which happens time and again) you get your maximum on points there, while others don´t. Also, at least one category involes being chased by the killer, which is a scenario you usually want to avoid. If you do (by playing stealthy) you get very few points in that category also.
The killer, on the other hand, has to do everything himself. Destroy gens, hunt survivors, hook them, set traps.
And he doesn´t have to share those points. This leads to the killer usually getting more points than single survivors. (if you add up the points from all survivors, thats far less the case). Also, lobby times also depend on the time you are playing. If i play during the day, i have to wait for a game as killer. If i play in the evening, its about 2-5 minutes for me.
-
Well, and to give them even more to do, survivors should have automatic self care, which takes longer than healing someone else.
-
Well, i finally bought leatherface to get barbeque and chilli for my killers, and guess what? On most maps, its unusable to me, because i can´t see the survivors. How do i know they are not too close? Because they finish a gen the whole map away the next second.
This is very disappointing.
-
Well, i think it would be enough to make perks unique in a swf-team, and maybe go down on 3 perks/person in a swf4.
-
They should just make 2 different "game modes": One for casual play (which doesn´t allow swf), and a competetive one (which allows swf). Then you can kick out players out of competetive for being not that good and not in a group.
-
@WarStRiKeR117 said:
Jeez that sucks, I don't know why high rank people are so toxic. But they really need to fx Swf because like you said if one of them is rank 20 and the rest is rank 1, chances are they are going to get a low rank killer and bully. But you do have to understand that a lot of people are swf group, not necessarily a full group, but most people are. If killers keep dodging because it's a swf, they will never play.Well, there is the option to balance the swf out, by giving killers who accept swf additional benefits, like 1-2 additional perks, a bloodpoint-bonus, the need that every suvivor perk is unique in the group, and several more.
-
I think it would highly favor the killers.
A balanced game by the devs is considered around 2 kills. so, if you got 4 balanced matches, you would have 8 survivors vs 4 killers, and that would basicly mean that one killer can always camp the hook, while the others patrol the gens or hunt survivors.
The thing is, you would have 1-16 players in the endmap, but always 4 killers, unless the first map had a mechanic to trap/neutralize the killer.
-
As long as there is no support for colorblinds, i am against this. There are already maps/enviorments where i basicly can´t use the camara, because i can´t see the skillcheck against the backround, so i fix my sight to a point where i can. Giving that skillcheck a random spot screws double with that.
-
But the killer doesn´t know the skilllevel of the survivors, while survivors use swf to pair high-skilled survivors vs low-skilled killers. So thats just one point why swf is overpowered.
-
I think 6 Perks were one way to go for killers in seperate swf-cues, so they can compensate a little, and there might be an incentive to join such a game mode as a killer.
As long as thats not the case, i dont think so.
-
To be fair, i disconnected as a killer once. I was a lvl 13 or so killer, and did quite bad. So the survivors stopped doing gens and just came after me. the flogged around me, evaded my hits or where healed the moment after, bodyblocked if you managed to down one, and so forth. They were way over my skilllevel. And thats simply what a lot of swf-groups do. you have a group of 1 lvl 14 player, and 3 lvl 3+, taking advantage of inexperienced killers and harress them instead of playing (and just finishing) the game.
Give killers the option do not fight swf groups, then talk about punishing them for disconnecting.
-
Sure, make gen repair a perk. And also wall climbing, so you can just climb the walls and leave without doing them at all. I mean, it true, i dont know how to repair a gen. but i know how to freeclimb, so seems fair, doesn´t it?
-
I think if a charakter uses his or her own perks, then there should be a synergy bonus, however he might look like.
-
So they cannot leave even if they die?
-
I actually agree with the op. As a survivor, games with tunneling/camping are usually the boring games.
The good games are against good killers, who got everyone hooked befor the first person dies. In such games, i don´t care if i die or not. A good balanced game.As a killer, i usually camp and tunnel. Fist of, because i suck at chases, which is ok as a stealthy survivor, but no good option for a killer. Second, as soon as you hooked someone, they are coming all to the hook anyway, there is no reason to go somewhere else. Notice, plz. that i only "camp" for 20-30 seconds. If i havn´t seen a survivor around by this time, i leave the hook so search for them. But usually, by that time 2-3 are at the hook, so you just have to take your pick.
Tunneling often happens by accident to me. Since i suck at chases, i have to pick the easiest target. Tip: the guy who stands there and bait you to hit him usually isn´t it. So i chase the one running away closest to me. Thats quite often the injured one.
