Of course the devs won't change the game just because someone posts an idea. But this is their forum so they obviously read it (or parts of it, at least), and if enough people voice their opinion on this subject they might be inclined to direct the development of the game more in this direction.

Highly doubting that the devs read the forum regularly tbh.
We had several gigantic posts about certain topics, even in the old steam forum already, and still nothing has happened.

We already know that the only players that the developers listen to are raving, review-bombing survivor players. Players who come with actual valid and constructive ideas? #########'em.

  • The only way to make more killers than Nurse viable at the higher ranks is to design the maps to accommodate for them.
Make looping less viable and you'll see a drastic decrease in Nurses.

  • Just having the power to close the hatch would solve all stalemates ever. First one to find it wins.

  • The "BEAST OF PREY" one is probably my favorite out of the bunch. That'd be really strong.

  • Please don't give the developers more bad ideas.

Sadly most people announce their hours played because of the people who are of the variety of, "Who are you to offer suggestions? I've obviously played longer than you if you actually think these ideas would work. BLARG!"

Precisely. That's why he announce it.

I would love an actual killer, but seems game is being developed in favor of competition. Which means having to deal with balances on both sides until no one is particularly happy and leaves for a new game.

I would love for this to have a consistent horror feel like when i first played it, unfortunately its feeling more and more like any other competitive game.

The balance of the game should be tilted to the killer's side of the playing field. It's an asymmetrical game.
Letting killers have 6 slots would further create that feeling of an unevenness that should be native to this type of game.

  • Removing from power from survivors so they're less safe would reduce toxicity as most toxic survivors are only toxic because they can get away with so much bullshit.

  • Don't use the hatch and avoid bringing items or burning offerings.

    I'm super casual myself.
Unless i warn people about swf groups , and how to dodge them, i can't recommend the game.
A killer that hits a string of coordinated players will likely get mauled badly, consistently, and turned off.
    I can't recommend the frustration.

This. If anyone I know wonder how DbD is to play, I won't recommend it because I know how ######### the community is. I used to love the game to bits, even have closer to like 800 hours but nowadays I just spite it due to the players playing and the developers inability to let killers have the power role they're destined for.

  • If we could make it so that SWFs only could play in Casual mode, then that'd be super freaking awesome!

  • Must the survivor's point generator be as good as the killers?
I thought it was an asymmetrical game with killers having the power role.

  • Nah, dude. Use whatever you like.

  • Leatherface's chainsaw brings too much negatives to the table for him to be viable, he need buffs.

  • @Eveline said:
Make lobby hidden and punish dc with immediate de-ranking similar to that that happens monthly or put a timer or some kind of penalty. That includes survivors to.

    Problem solved.

Sure, if I could opt out of SWFs.

  • @RSB said:
They should play both sides at R1 every Thursday/Friday, and maybe something will be changed in this game.

Thursdays would be better than Fridays since they can have a meeting about their experiences on the Friday.

  • I'd rather just let killers choose to opt out from the SWF experience.

  • If it was restricted to solo players and killers, sure. SWFs would exploit the ######### out of it.

  • I am extremely much for reworking maps to make looping less powerful. It'd be an indirect buff for all killers except Nurse.

  • It's just their way of saying "Let's hope people forget about it if we keep postponing it!".
The devs absolutely FEAR nerfing survivor perks, especially meta ones, because of the massive backlashes that always follow. And then they always revert changes or nerf killers in some way to make up for it when they get review bombed.

    It always happen.

  • I'd just rather let killers themselves opt out of the swf "challenge".

  • Start at the game with full health and become permanently "broken" when injured for the first time. Increase pain noise reduction to 100% at level 3.

  • Bond and Iron Will, basically. The second two perks are just whatever I feel like, but its usually a rotation of Dance With Me, Lithe, Quick and Quiet, Urban Evasion, Lightweight and We'll Make It.
I don't use DS, Self-care, Sprint Burst or any of those perks.

  • Spirit Fury, definitely. Coupled with Enduring.

  • Just bumping it as its still being relevant.

  • People saw the "Play with the devs" stream? Jesus Christ..

I always wonder why people consider 50% kill rate balanced. Such a rate can almost everytime be achieved by hardcamping the first guy and killing a second with NOED.

On my opinion it should be rare that survivors escape, but then I am a very special guy that expects to fear the killer in an horror game, I know not everyone thinks like that

50% was just an example. Developers might as well think 75% kills is better ... I can't really tell.

In my personal opinion we can understand the scores in the following fation :

    0 Kill : shame on the killer. (4 winner / 1 loser)
1 Kill : the killer loose, shame on him and the dead survivor. (4 winer / 1 loser)
    2 Kills : that's a tie. (2 winner / 3 losers including the killer)
3 kills : both the killer and the final survivor wins (2 winner / 3 losers)
4 kills : Killer wins, shame on all his victims. (1 winner / 4 losers)

You might find it interesting to look at the excel statistic of the depip squad too

I found their statistics really interesting. Shows that the killers cannot do anything to combat survivors intent on winning, even if the survivors handicap themselves as much as possible.

Yeah and when they actually went full tryhard mode, using comms+perks, those games were kinda pathetic....

It just further reinforce that SWFs are too unbalanced.

Yes but devs have to experience this for their own

This is the entire point of my thread.

Killers are OVERPOWERED in General despite rank... And if you think otherwise you must be smoking crack or a fiend killer main. Killers move faster, can swing  360° and have no swing penalty.not to mention their perks and abilities.... Either there movement needs nerfed or they need an exhaustion from bloodlust cause something has to give...

man I wish every survivor was as bad as you

    That'd make the game bearable.

I am so glad I uploaded bad gameplay of me playing my L3 Nurse, in case I'd suffer the bug and lose my legacies.

I honestly like your idea, but there are lots of things that need to be considered, beside the fact that consoles would blow up in a 2v6/8 scenario, also you'd need brand new maps, way bigger than the current ones, it'd be fun but i don't think is goin' to work

Not when a lot of people playing killers are using McDonalds tier wifi. They can barely handle themselves and four survivors, imagine if they also had to host for another 5 players..

The problem is that the devs don't really care what we think.

Ain't that the truth. Or well, they do care what we say, if we reviewbomb their game. "We" being the survivors who scream doom as soon as something on their side get nerfed.

Mathieu's suggestion was to play other games

I am currently enjoying MHW and it feels good being away from DbD.

For devs onlt what count is more skins for survs and make more money on this crap.

The Warframe devs are making gold and they're actually listening to their playerbase and making changes on a regular basis. I think that BHVR would get more money from us players, should they follow DE's example.

    DE? Studio who made Warframe?

    Yes. Digital Extremes. DE.

  • @DaMostWanted786 said:
As for the killers, when they camp by hooked players, maybe make it so that **whenever the killer is close by, make the bleed out time longer, and also decrease the killers attack range to make it easier!

The developers tried out the longer bleed out timer if the killer is close in a PTB once. It was exploited as ######### by survivors, so they removed it.

  • No. Not until killers can break pallets that haven't been used.

  • Imagine if you removed the need to "level up" perks and you got all perks in level 3 when you unlocked them. Now you cut down the perk grind by 66%.

  • The best thing that could happen to killers in terms of balance that maps overall are revisited and changed so that long loops and true safe pallets both are gone.

It'd shorten the chases and thus let killers pressure the maps more. It'd also motivate for a more stealthy gameplay style for survivors as they cannot loop-to-win anymore, thus further slowing down the game.

Changed maps would also allow for more different killers to do well, so Nurses wouldn't be as prominent much to survivors' joy everywhere.

This. Whispers just says "Hey, dude, there's someone around! I won't tell you where though c:"

  • Made a thread in the "Balance Feedback" forum that the developers should have mandatory killer play sessions as part of their job, so they can experience the bullshit that's plaguing the game. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/11734/lets-play-killer-day-for-the-developers

We all know McCote nerfed flashlights after he got humiliated against those asians. Goes to show that they don't know how bad things are until they get to enjoy it themselves.

I really REALLY feel like the developers should at least talk to some of the streamers that play both survivor and killer regularly if they don't play their own game.

Heh. The only ones that the developers listen to are the survivors review bombing their game in protest over small changes. They seek to keep the majority happy.

It's some nice wishful thinking though. Streamers who actively play both sides should be listened to. It'd be amazing if @not_Queen, in her community manager role, could reach out to most and ask them to make a list of the things they like the most with DbD and the things that they dislike the most.

Good players are in fact in touch with the devs about the balance. OhTofu is one them, but Tru3 is not cuz well, if you play this game enough you actually know he is not that good of a player, he is good streamer, but mediocore player.

Yeah he is mediocre because he refuses to play tactically, but at the same time playing tactically is considered toxic by survivors..... its kinda funny tbh

Using Thanatophobia or Ruin on m1 killers instead of Enduring and tries to Bloodlust on safe pallets & Jungle Jyms. He even respects pallets when he uses Enduring and gets looped for 5 gens cuz of that.

Also all Survivors that are half capeable (not r20's) are SWF for him.

Thats not refusing to play tactically, its pure stupidity and ignorance.

I watch him from time to time too and I suggest you do the same before insulting him like this

I too used to watch him and Hexy in 2016 and thought these guys are best killers ever! Why else these guys would have +1k viewers if they are not the best, right?

Then I actually started to play this game myself for more than just dailies and realized they are actually not that good.

While its true they are still better than 95% of the players, but not as good as people think.

Yes thats because views are gained by entertaining the viewers and you need to do more than just playing optimally.

I'd say that Truetalent is better than most streamers out there just because he's willing to not play optimally, if viewed from an overall standpoint, as he constantly needs to adapt to situations and such.

Well playing non-optimally makes him indeed a worse killer, at least from a gameplay perspective^^

Not gonna argue with that but my point still stands.

Shame. Your spirit will always live through Nurse players everywhere!

You see this, @not_Queen , big players leaving DbD because you (not like you personally but you as a company) refuse to see and listen to what's happening in DbD.

She actually tries to discuss proper balance towards the game, but there is only so much she can do because she is the community manager.

I am aware that she might be doing it, yeah. It's barely noticeable though but that might just be the thick headed developers being their usual selves. She might need to adapt to using a sledgehammer to get her message across.
