https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/249904/pig-is-pretty-weak-how-would-you-buff-her
Pig isn't weak at all, but she is a finesse Killer. Her power (the Reverse Bear Traps) has quirks and it is often used in inefficient ways. Let's take a look her:
- She is a average height 115% Speed Killer. This means it is harder to see her coming or outrun.
- She has the option to go Stealth at will, turning her Terror Radius and Red Stain off, still moving.
- She has a weird super lunge, where she come out of stealth mode moving really fast.
- She has (4) Reverse Bear Traps and starts with all of them. If used early game, they are less efficient because even with a few people running around with traps on their head, the others can work Generators. Trying to cover Generators and Jigsaw Stations is harder on her than it is on the Survivors. However, if she holds on to the traps for mid to late game, when there are fewer Survivors (she has killed 1+) and fewer Generators to cover, they have a far more weighty effect. The fewer remaining Survivors don't want to do the last Generators without getting the traps off to avoid activating them. Moreover, running around to Stations means not working Generators, and there are fewer points the Pig has to defend. If Pig has identified and crafted a 3-Gen (which is easier for her than anyone else) she is almost unbeatable. More to the point, the traps should not be wasted on the weaker Survivors but applied to those who are tougher to keep them out of circulation longer.
So Pig is a flexible M1 Killer is weak in the loops but can compensate with ambush and attrition. I'm not going into Perks because all of those can be unlocked for any Killer. What would be more correct to say about Pig is she would feel weaker in the hands of a Killer who likes to endlessly chase because of her weakness in the anti-looping tech. In short, your personal play style is what determines how effective she will be.
- she still can be looped, and her height kinda makes it harder to loop but not by a lot
- her stealth is very so slow and very bad for map traversal
- you get a very loud noise notification before she lunges so it's not that good that why you see a lot of pig mains just get up and m1 instead of dashing
- her traps are fine a bit rng( well not really but it does feel like it ) but still they need to make To RNG but like tappers to where 1st box has a very low chance to get it off and then increases every box.
- her ambush is only good at mind gameable loops, not the normal L and T walls or long jungle gym just to name a few
although she may not the worst killer in the game she definitely is a pretty weak one, she is nowhere near as good as lets say demo. Yes, she might have gen control with her traps but she needs to down people to get the traps to work which is pretty hard since her chase potential is pretty small. even if you do get a trap on someone's head they can just get it off the first try

A backpack! Find one in a chest and survive to claim the items inside it.
- It will contain either 2 or 3 random items (depending on rarity) that are fully loaded with add-ons.
- Wearing the backpack does not force you to drop your currently equipped item. It can still be used.
- The backpack appears on your character and is highly visible. Furthermore, there’s a risk that killers will target you to deny you the treasure. Teammates may let you die in order to scavenge. High risk, high reward.
i love the idea
-
tbh honest the only. the way i think self-preservation working is having a swf with a body block build on and since they got hit near you you run away without being tracked and since most killers don't go for the person who just body blocked it could be a win win

First you said she isn't used competitively, and now you're saying the recent example I gave you of Pig being played at the highest level (competitive DbD) doesn't matter? Have a good day, I'm done here.
it wasn't a real comp
they were just rank 8s doing some games for money

Pig was played in the grand final of the Dead by Daylight Japan Championship. Grand final... 3 months ago... And, don't generalize everyone else's queues based on your own. I see her in red ranks quite often.
You want ambush to be better? Give her room for an ambush buff by reworking her RBT and jigsaw boxes that skew her kill rate.
you do realize the japan championship was not with the best of the best killers of surv they were around rank 8
they chose Michel over the spirit
and the reason why the pig won was because she use some of the best addons on her
-
@Shooby said:
Pig is not weak. If you think she is weak, perhaps you're playing a bit too fair. Interrupt survivors at jigsaw boxes and force them away till timer activates, then see if she still feels underwhelming. She deserves an addon pass that gives her fun and useful addons instead of throwing extra RBTs and jigsaw box addons left, right, and center in bloodwebs.
what are you talking about if she were so-called, not weak then why inst she used in comp or why don't you see her red ranks all the time.
she doesn't have any chase ability expect I guess her ambush which is only really good in short loops. plus she needs downs to use her gen slow down

Firecrackers should be in the game permanently and not as part of events imo.
They should get rid of the crappy brown and yellow BP offerings (+50/75%/100% extra BP in a single category offerings, cakes and puddings should definitely stay and they should be the norm). They only exist to bloat up the bloodweb and they're almost useless in making BP.
I want something like a tagging item. Press M2 at a doorway or window to tag it with spray paint or whatever it could be. And if the killer vaults the window or walks through the doorway you see their aura for a few seconds. Would obviously be a one-time use item.
Or something similar that lights up a gen and its progress is determined by the intensity of the aura, and it's shown to every other survivor for a while.
Or reworking keys to open chests faster, only allowing the hatch to open with an ultra rare add-on for the key.
Or a noisemaker that creates a notification at the area it went off at... there's a lot you could do with survivor items and they don't have to be huge effects, just good enough that they're somewhat useful and fun to use.
neat ideas i also think firecrackers should have addons too
-
@Mooks said:
I think the various firecrackers from the events would count as items that got introduced after the games initial release..
i do very much want new items as well, as the devs themselves have called them the equivalent of the killers powers (which we do get a new one every chapter)
my ideas (click on name to the forum thread):
Sling Shot, Spray Paint Cans, Salt Pouch, Smudge Sticks, Smoke Bomb, Voodoo Doll
smoke bomb seems like a really neat idea

Just because you started doing an action, doesn't mean you aren't being tunneled.
So, I get unhooked and try healing myself and here comes the Killer to come find and tunnel me. I'm not being tunneled because I tried to heal myself?
yes since you had time to stop and heal yourself ( even if its for a few sec) its the fact that you had time to heal
why don't you pay attention to your surroundings Luv

Just a few ideas, but I am certainly not the best person to comment on Pig's balance. If a Pig main out there is willing to give me a hand, I would appreciate it ;)
i like this buff a lot

As far as I can tell the killers and survivors aren't supposed to be spawning practically within reach of each other. As for survivors spawning all the way on the other side of the map, that doesn't seem to happen to me. They're usually clustered pretty close.
i dint think that's true since at least 1 surv spawn pretty coles to me
-
i main oni, blight , and the twins/ Daphine uh I mean yin jin for surv too
Oni since I love how much fun I get from his power, I feel so powerful and I could also curve so well
blight since he is a speedy boi
twins: since they are the most unique killer and I just love playing the little gremlin
daph- er I mean Yin jin since I love her outfits and dressing up like Daphne from scooby do
-
@miketheratguy said:
I keep being spawned within probably 100 feet of the killer. 7 or 8 matches out of ten I can wander in any direction upon starting the game and hear the terror radius creep in within ten seconds (my record, which I still have video of, is six). I'm so sick of it. Hell with finding a generator, I would at least like to have a chance to actually explore my surroundings for a minute or even get to leave the first room before the killer closes in.
well i mean i think that happens every game i just hate it when the other survivor spawn a whole 10 miles away form the surv i found

I mean you can break down everyone's power like that.
Billy is just running fast with a chainsaw.
Spirit/wraith is just running fast while invisible
Ghostface is just looking at people with no terror radius.
The uniqueness comes from their tracking. hitting a Laurie in frenzy that reveals 2 killer instincts where you know one of them is the david you just saw means that the other one is the claudette that is on deathhook and with the lack of the 4th one means that the adam is on one of the gens outside of your terror radius that had little to no progress last time i saw them. I can quickly go to claudette finish her off and be back to the gen adam is working on without having to worry about the laura finishing a gen in the meantime cause she has to mend.
That's the sort of mind gymnastics a good Legion player goes through whenever they hit a frenzy. That most people just run, stab, fatigue, chase repeat with them is not the fault of the killer. That's like saying Billy is boring to play while just using chainsaw for mobility, only using m1 and completly disregarding curving in loops.
I suppose your right with the killer side of thing with being able to track but going against a legion isn't as fun. like I said he is just a regular killer when you're in a chase with him while injured, no really gimmicks like other killers. . plus if you are just injured he can just stab and run away. Not the best experiences
-

If you don't care about others opinion why should others care about yours?
I don't find Legion boring to play. I like their information based playstyle. M1 chases and mindgames are also the most fun part of the game for me and Legion is one of the better m1 killers as after his frenzy one succesfull mindgame is all you need.
They are one of the few killers that focus on the 4v1 left.
Some QoL changes and some small buffs here and there i would be completly behind.
But a rework is not happening. They already spend a lot of time and effort to make Legion workable and now that they're functional and performing well there is zero reason to change that.
And yes they are performing well. Just because some people run themself into fatigue in front of healthy survivors or can't land a m1 without something helping them does not mean they are not playable
i know you may like him and I'm sure he would be better with some good buffed, I'm not even saying he needs a totally rework I just want him a good spot. plus I just wish this killer was a bit more unique his power is just running and stabbing no real uniqueness to it.
-
@Pulsar said:
Gen rushing is also a legitimate tactic, as is bodyblocking and flashlight clicking.
i mean i wouldn't say flashlight clicking, onrushing isn't very good cuz how I see it its you just do gens ignoring your teammates, and I didn't know somes killer hated body blocking it was always a static
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
Some QoL changes like power not depleting on m1 hits and stuff like that.
Give the oblivious status effect to feral frenzy slashes so people are forced to find a good spot to mend in and make the mending a little more excitting.
Maybe other small buffs like that.
But for the love of god do not completelly overhaul them!
Legion isn't even in that bad of a spot. People just play this information based 1v4 killer as a chase based 1v1 killer
I really don't want another Freddy shebuckle where my main just gets deleted and replaced with a maybe stronger but much more boring character.
If you don't like Legion there are other killers to play. There are people who enjoy playing them the way they are now.
imo idk about everyone else tho, the legion is a boring killer to play and go against. for killer your power is just stabbing and runing, your power really cant be used in a chase, the most fun thing in this game. for surv the legion just stabs and runs away, even if he is just another M1 killer in the chase if your doing well he can just stab you then run away with the tracking he gets
I'm not saying he is op I'm just saying he is a bit boring for both sides, and the Freddy rework made him better ya removed his uniqueness but people back then didn't like Freddy cuz he was boring with the whole gen speed penalty, and for killer is was probably worse with the whole 7 sec dream transition time

It also seems different from other killers because I’ve had it when I’m playing survivor that the Plague pukes, it hits my character fair and square, my character starts coughing and spluttering, and then nothing happens. No infection. That’s never happened to me playing against any other killer power or weapon, just Plague. A fair hit on my screen that is just deleted for god knows what reason. And my ping is always low so it’s not like I’m lagging or anything.
i believe that happens because the particle that is hitting the surv doe not infect its just there to make the vomit look connected

-
i mean the entity exists too so
and I don't think that's real cold since the entity made it

its not that bad for most twins mains like myslef it just makes them feel more clunkier but hey maybe almo will come to his senses and fix them but for now its what we have to play as

Twins is the non-swf annihilator.
They will just steamroll through them because of a lack of communication. And against all but the best swf teams, you can win easily just by always having someone slugged.
Victor really is too strong in 1v1 when you use double speed addons. You literally cant outrun him anywhere, it's hilarious really. Once you learn how to aim pounce effectively, it's just an issue of knowing where to pressure.
Just yesterday I beat a team of all rank 1 SWF's (they were very good) with 3 gens left using Victor most the time.
As far as taking skill... yes. You have to know where to pressure so it takes strategic thinking, and pounce isn't always easy to aim, it does take some learning and practice.
ya those speed add ons make them real lethal

Personally I find them a lot of fun to play against.
Having played them I also understand how they do take skill, especially if you are switching in between chases.
The only thing I have ever said that needs to be changed about Twins is the ability to park Victor by the hook, then it would discourage people from pulling that cheap tactic.
its dumb how they haven't fixed that,.

If injured survivors are grouping up, 1) use Charlotte, or 2) Victor regrows in literally 6 seconds. If you're not able to heal, crushing him only buys a bit of time.
well if the injured the survivor are grouping up then they are probably heading or healed.
plus if you get a cooldown when kicked and switched back to charlotte and you aren't that close if you had to use victor to get over there
-
@Crypticghoul said:
The ones that place Victor under a hook and just switch to him when killer instinct activates, no (why is this even still a thing?) which unfortunately is probably most of what you'll see.
The ones that actually try to place him strategically and pressure the map, yes.
I do think that Victor's recharge time after getting kicked might be a little too quick and that slugging solo players is way too easy with Twins but they do require a lot of game sense and map knowledge to do well.
agreed I still don't know why the devs haven't fixed the whole camping thing.

child services XD

if you are not good at killer you will be trash with twins
they have more to them than just camping and slugging, it's just that they don't need to do anymore against average noobs
but if we determine the amount of skill needed to play against average noobs, nurse would be so much lower, spirit would be so much lower
playing against great survivors, twins are one of the hardest killers to play. you need to have good chasing skills, extremely good game awareness, and need to able to predict what the survivors are planning to do do all the time during the match.
100% agree
-
@PixelBush said:
The Twins have one of the highest skill ceilings in DBD, because the potential they have to make creative plays using map terrain and require a LOT of game sense to play against Survivors who know what they're doing. Their mechanical skill ceiling is far from the highest but you need a decent level of precision to do well with them: landing a clutch Pounce at max range past 2 people trying to bodyblock can be the difference between disabling a Key or letting 3 people get out with it.
They require a TON of micromanagement and game awareness, more than almost any other Killer in the game (Plague is probably their main contender, which is why I play them both so much). Knowing things like terrain climbing or window blocking with Victor, or where to bodyblock in chase with Charlotte, takes practice and foresight because of how hard you're punished by good Survivors if you mess up.
Against bad Survivors who don't punish you for your mistakes and don't use your counterplay against you, the Twins are very easy to play because Survivors effectively feed themselves to you because the average Survivor drops 60 IQ points when playing against the Twins. Against actually competent Survivors you HAVE to be clever and have to play smart/set up creative strategies to win, which is why a lot of Twins players get bullied so much.
thanks pixel i knew you would back me up
-
@MadLordJack said:
Not really, to be honest. Most of their gameplay is camping hooks and playing m1 killer. Then when you're inevitably in a good position you just have to land 3-4 hits with Victor. Which, while not a breeze on console, isn't that hard on PC.
well that playstyle is pretty easy to counter by crouching like hags traps
plus if you want to slug people they need to be alone and not injured

I play solo que, you would not believe the dumb ######### some people pull.
I get that's not every game for you, but it is every game for me.
I don't like Twins because people deal with them in the worst possible way; running at them, taking a hit for some reason, and expecting to get away when the baby starts jogging.
They aren't fun for me
well being fun and taking skill are different things
you can think a killer is unfun but you can still tell they take skill
plus solo queue sucks with any of the other killers that slug since like you said you can't trust them to let's say not feed the Michel stalk or oni blood.
-
@DwightFairfield said:
Too easy to snowball without any sort of warning or setup
Oni can snowball easily but he's loud and noticeable, and his demon dash can't do everything
Myers can snowball easily but his terror radius and presences allows you to prepare (At least in theory, if they don't pop tier 3 behind you)
Twins, if everyone is injured, can slug for the 4k and the survivors can't do much about it.
"Just bring unbreakable"
Yeah, next to the DS I need to bring for tunneling, the spine chill I need for stealth killers, the iron will I need for Spirit, the Dead Hard I need to prolong chases, the Small Game and Kindred I need if I want to play solo que, the Adrenaline I need if I want to clutch a chase during the endgame, and the balanced landing and lithe I need so the killer doesn't catch me in unsafe areas.
you do realize that everyone needs to be injured and if they are in a group you're screwed as victor

Blight would almost certainly be the lab he held the blight experiments in. I envision a large building like the Asylum in the center with a basement where you can see stains, chalk drawings, scratch marks, and weapons and memorabilia that can be traced back to a few specific killers. On the outside, a forest terrain, like the campfire surroundings, that fades into impassable fog at the edges. Pustula plants grow at the edges of the building and in large, bloated mounds elsewhere, forming some of the rubble structures in the map.
Twins... is probably the one I've thought least about. Could be the burned wreck of their childhood home, with the stake Madeleine was burned at, but that could end up a lot like Coldwind with a different palette. Or they could do a dual floor map where the top is a chunk of back-alley Marseilles and the bottom is a sewer system. In the sewers, you'd find a killer shack, fashioned into Charlotte's safehouse. I envision the lighting scheme of this map being a very dull grey-green, similar to Autohaven but paler.
Trickster - his lobby aesthetic, map-sonified. The Mightee One studio, in all its glory - blacklight and neon. An auditorium and a stage, both smeared with viscera, with corpses in the seats. Burn damage in another part of the map, the studio backrooms, and painted-over remains of a fire where blackened silhouettes into the concrete can just barely be seen.
i love the others but for the twins, I always thought of their map being the place they were enslaved by the entity worshipers but its like half-burned since victor dropped the candelabra

well technically its the feeling of dread when you are in the regular world
you are safe when awake but once you fall asleep you in deep trouble, if you want more on the reason why old Freddy was better lore-wise try watch Pixelbuhses video on Freddy
