They mentioned a while back about getting rid of the ranked perks and only having a single tier for all of them. This would cut it by an insane 66%. That idea might be questionable to them now as lots of people's interest in the game is perpetuated by the grind itself.

Personally, I feel the grind is much better than how it used to be. I remember a time before archives and god forbid without bubba.

Edit : also you never used to get 4 perks at lvl 50 plus

oh don't remind me it was so painful

  • agree but 95% of the people who use don't Soo

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

Like of course this is very subjective, as there is at least 1 person that mains that 1 killer nobody plays. The issue is that the only person actually playing that killer IS one person.

Unfun killers to play are heavily reflected in playrates (wow an actual statistic that means something), viability does play a big part in who gets played the most, but overall Fun trumps viability a killer can bring in pubs. It's why people main killers like clown, Legion, Michael etc despite them being low tier.

Main point: Can we adjust killers who just feel awful to play? (Please note that this is in terms of fun, not viability. It's why I haven't put trickster here as he is incredibly fun but incredibly trash)

    Mainly:

    • Hag
    • Plague

And some killers who could use some QOL:

    • Ghostface (cooldown needs a look at)
    • Billy (why does the overheat exist)
    • Twins (I personally really enjoy twins, but I know a lot of people hate playing them)
    • Pig (QOL needed on ambush, not so much traps)
    • Trapper (Built in bag when BHVR?)

There's some weird killers when it comes to fun, such as blight. He can sometimes feel the most fun killer in the game and sometimes when collision ######### you sideways he can feel like the most unfun killer.

It's very opinionated but I think most of us can agree something needs to be done to at least plague and hag.

I agree with you on twins so much i love the twins and hate that new nerf

i miss when billy didn't have that stupid overheat mecanic as well

  • I wish they did make them worth buying.

for oni instead of having kanaboo he can have a pillar from the Minitours maze and maybe instead of a red fire coming out of him maybe yellow or blue.

for trapper since you don't want to change the look of his traps so u can see them easier you can do something where when a survivor gets stuck ina trap the trapped surv has little snow flakes coming upon them

  • @TheArbiter said:

I think they go to go back to the drawing board and completely rework Clown even though they just changed him it doesn't feel like it solved any of his problems.

i agree ya the clown is better a downing people but he was already good at downing people before the rework.

  • @GhostMaceNotCrusty said:

Soul gaurd. Maybe just a little bit of recovery boost although not as much as unbreakable

ya maybe like 10 to 15 percent

  • i see where you're coming from but as an oni main it's not hard to get that first hit and ya he CAN down the team they have to pretty close together and make a ton of mistakes to get downed by the oni with one yamoka's wrath since there is already a penalty to downing someone

also there s a good chunk of counterplay when he is in his ability like splitting up, jumping into a locker to force his ability to end, and a load more.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244247/apart-from-trapper-who-needs-a-buff-rework-the-most

    • Pig could use some normalization of her RNG and some addons be made base kit along with an addon pass.
    • Myers needs a heavy rework and addon pass, (personally i'd like to see them do something that makes all 3 tiers a viable thing to build around, but tier 1 is useless outside of meme builds on specific maps.)
    • Ghost face needs his Cooldown addons to be base kit and then an addon pass to make his addons fun.
    • Hag could use some changes to make her less boring to play against.
    • Legion needs a full rework imo, boring to play as and against and in general weak.
    • Plague could use some tweaks around survivors having full control of her power.
    • Oni could use some tweaks to make his early game better while nerfing his snowball potential.

although i don't really agree with your oni change overall

I love to see a Michel rework to make his their a different play style

Hillbilly. They need to remove the overheat

i hate that overheat mechanic so much

  • @FancyMrB said:

    MoM.

It went from god perk to meme perk. I have actually been running it lately and its not very practical ... you have to really go out of your way to get the 3 protection hits which means you are not helping your team towards the objective. It also gives players an incentive to not heal their team mates since that is one way to take a protection hit.

I thinking changing the conditions to MoM will bring it back to meta but not god tier. Maybe somethings like:

    - one protection hit.

    - spend 120 sec on gens.

    - safe unhook

    - heal one health state

Conditions that show you are doing objectives and being a team player... more then just running up to the killer when they pick up a survivor and getting smacked :P

i like the idea but they would have to nerf so it cant be reused

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

Some hot takes with things I doubt will happen as well

    Monstrous shrine

-Slight increase to percentage and affect all hooks

    Crowd control

    -make it not a hex

    Remember me

    - increase time

    Diversion

    -increase range

    Distortion

    -add a couple more tokens

    Slippery meat

-increase likelihood of escape a lot but add mending requirement from self unhook with it

i really like your slippery meat buff its kinda like a high risk high reword delivberence

  • @CheesyGuy said:

Oni and Blight are really nice killer because of their mobility. Most of the killers in the game are fine, however the real problem came from some map sizes and the killer's lack of gen pressure ability and killer's mobility. Blight,Hilbilly,Nurse,Wraith can patrol gens and apply pressure easier due to their mobility and speed but for the other killers the system does not work like that especially for the ranged ones like Huntress,DeathSlinger and Trickster. The real issue is not the power of the killers but the map sizes and I think that soon they are gonna fix some maps for that reason.

you do have a point but some killer still need to be buffed like trickster and Myers

  • @immortalls96 said:

even that may not be enough

No. Ranks dont mean anything. But Rank 1-2s are usually a lot better then 15-20 newbies. You know that.

Im sorry to shatter some mystique you had with blight. But he's just not that hard to use

oh so your that type of person

thinking that a certain killer doesn't take skill

you kina remind me of sluzzy with that huntress post

  • @Yords said:

Same, but the devs aren't the best at buffing killers. I mean they literally nerfed the twins.

i know i just hope it doesn't go through

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2125248#Comment_2125248

I've been destroying red ranks with him. No matter the map or survivors. He's just oppressive and not that hard to use. Those blight mains are just lieing to you. He's pretty damn easy 😂

    Sure you have buddy

ranks don't mean skill you do know that

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The thing is that Oni and Blight are mechanically hard killers to play. You can't make a lot of killers on their level or we'll have another Freddy situation where you need very little skill to constantly 4k.

Killers like Wraith, Ghostface and Bubba are already pretty solid without being that hard to play.

That's the point I want good killers that are easy to get into but are ard to master kind of like billy

  • @Lord_Tony said:

all killers need to be buffed because of SWF

unfortunately this game balances ######### for solos not SWF

ya i know im just hoping maybe the devs see this or enough people so the devs can take it into consideration

  • Well, almost every killer has an area on the map where you feel helpless such as bubba, dead zones your dead, same a billy,

And you have to take into consideration what maps you did good on and which maps you didn't blight does have a high skill ceiling just ask anyone who mains him.

You may just be getting lucky with the maps, surv, and you may even be using some pretty damn good perks or add ons

you probably are running ruin and dying witch I don't blame you since its a good build but that perk build basically makes every killers skill ceiling drop

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244177/i-feel-that-all-killers-should-be-as-good-as-oni-or-blight

That's a little extreme lol. Oni is more balanced then blight. Blight is a little bit much and a killer you really can't counter play sometimes. At least oni needs blood first. Meanwhile Blight can be a very oppressive boy-o

how is blight oppressive apart from J-flick he is a good and balanced killer? you counter him by taking hard turns

He also has one of the highest skills ceilings in that game.

  • @JimboMason said:

I mean I want pyramid to be able to inflict judgement on a gen when he kicks it or on a survivor if they get hit with punishment of the damned, but it is dbd so it'll probably happen never.

I mean id doubt that will happen since pyramid head is already a strong killer I'm just want the weak killer like pig to be buffed but that idea could be a add on

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

I don't think they will risk the RE chapter on some new AI feature, especially after how bugged was The Twins.

to be fair this is the 5th year anniversary with a gigantic licence so maybe the will go all out

  • @ggezbaby said:

what was strong about it was replacing pallets that were dropped, so when a survivor that is solo/not apart of swf heads to that side of the map & is not aware the pallets have been dropped, it’s problematic. you can say “just pay attention to what pallets are up before you’re asleep” but - A) what if you start asleep? B) what if you’re new & don’t even know where pallets are supposed to spawn to begin with? C) what if the survivor runs to that side of the map for the first time that match, how do they possibly know the pallets were dropped? Yes, you can wake up, but you can’t while you’re in chase which usually happens after he hits you & puts you to sleep.

I say all this, but keep in mind, I’m a Freddy/Doctor main. I don’t think Freddy needed a nerf at all. he isn’t strong. he’s a normal m1 killer with a little extra features. I just think survivors never complain about what is actually annoying about him - aka PALLET FREDDY. Slowdown Freddy? Do gens. Snare Freddy? not a problem. go around the snare. I actually feel like the only thing that needed changes was the pallets. Didn’t need to touch snares at all. Snare Freddy is always an easy win for me as survivor. Pallet Freddy is an easy loss.

Your point doesn't really stand since docs' fake pallets are basically the same and they didn't get nerfed.

they just make Freddy into a territorial killer ya the pallets are bad but they aren't that strong the snares were 10x better

  • @OopsAllHexes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2120460#Comment_2120460

... Honestly, I would have thought the same thing myself, especially since pallets are everything on some maps like The Game... are snares really better? I make a habit of intentionally setting off Freddy snares when he's chasing someone else when I'm asleep, pretty much making them useless outside of chases.

Who is Alomo by the way? Is he the guy who said that they should wait a month or two before releasing Trickster?

Almo is i believe the main balance member

he is the one who thought it was a good idea to nerf billy by giving him an overheat mechanic, also he is the genius that thought cricketer was good pre buff

  • @Blueberry said:

Absolutely ridiculous nerf. The Twins don't need nerfs.

All they need is to make Charlotte have to be much further from the hook to swap unless a survivor is nearby to prevent hook camping and then give Charlotte Undetectable while a survivor has Victor to encourage removing him and not allow their power to be taken hostage.

That's it. Stop trying to make the only 3 people that actually play The Twins quit them as well. One of, if not the least played killer in the game and we're gonna nerf them, it just makes no sense.

i really hope they don't nerf them they are one of my fav killer because they are so unique

  • @OopsAllHexes said:

The devs don't play the game and don't understand balance. The Trickster buffs haven't done anything at all since you still get recoil when throwing knives, Main Event is bad... Demo is one of the only things they've done right so far.

They need to make some sort of team with people from all skill levels who play this game for varying amounts of time and listen to that.

    i agree entirely

it's not even all the devs its just mainly alomo

for god's sake he aid dream pallets are stronger than Freddy's snares

  • i have a good idea that could work but you need one member of an SWF

you can do a body blocking build where if one of you guys get to chase the other takes a hit the person that took the hit runs away and the survivor with self-preservation activated will be extremely hard to track

best case scenario both of you are lost by the killer

worst-case scenario the person that took the hit is chased

but the person that had the hit taken could heal up and then the cycle continues

  • ya I agree to an extent i found out this killer is very good at keeping survivors in a bad area of a map which isn't too bad but he still needs some more buffs

his main event isn't actually that bad it's just so inconvenient and a bit on the weaker side

But the Spirit isn't flipping a coin.

They have footsteps. Scratch marks. Blood. Pain grunts. Breathing. At worst, they're rolling a d10 and lose the survivor on a 1.

The survivor has the game's permission to go 𝒻𝓊𝒸𝓀 themselves.

good point i forgot to add that to my agrument

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2118284#Comment_2118284

None of that is true. It has been proven multiple times except for the shards only working on 1 outfit and only if standing directly in front of the Spirit. There is NO way to tell where she is. Even her footsteps are barely audible when phased. Been proven multiple times that none of that is true.

in addition to this comment what if there is no grass or anything to give away

surv just want one thing o help them against spirit

  • @Killing_Time said:

Spirit is fine. You don't NEED to know EVERYTHING the killer is doing. You both flip and coin and the winner comes out on top. Stop trying to exploit your smaller hitbox against objects and you'll be fine.

that's the thing flipping a coin isn't fun for the surv side

trust me like I said love killers that are fun, strong and have a decently high skill cap

but the spirit is none of those slap on stridor and you can turn off your brain and win, nor is she fun like I said guessing inst very fun

  • @TTV_WAWAbyWibWib said:

I think spirit is fine as is, she is with nurse one of the killers who is more accessibly powerful. It's okay for her to be strong because frankly, ALL killers can probably win by force it's just more realisitc to try and prove it with the ones that only take 10 times as much effort as it takes to play survivor really well (spirit, nurse) than the ones who take dozens and dozens of times more effort (everyone else)

As much as i love strong killer in the roster, the thing is that spirit is a killer that has a power that is to un informative.

you don't know when she is phasing when being chased and that can be very annoying and sometime boring to go against cause you basically know your going down when you have iron will its just a matter of when

  • i really want to know what evil little ocido fanboy put "No, if you are a good killer, you should know how to counter it."

because they are the stupidest most biased people I've seen

  • @Sup3rCatTree said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2117356#Comment_2117356

No, it wasn't on me, he wasn't near me at the beginning of the game he chased my teammate then came with his teir 3 99ed then moried me. Don't assume it was my fault

well to be fair im on pulsars side.

Myers is 110 when he has judith myers and also he need to be basically breathing down your back so its kinda your fault that you don't know how to loop properly also if you use common sense you should realize that considering myers has been chasing your teammates you should come to the concussion that he has tier 3

  • I like the ability a lot but if I'm correct Almo said there wouldn't be AI-controlled killer power I think because it would be inconsistent but hey maybe they change there mind either way love the idea

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I doubt any basekit mechanic that buffs killers will come soon. I think everybody agrees an early game slowdown basekit would be fine on killers like Myers or Trapper, but too oppressive on Nurse, Spirit and Blight. Imo it's easier to just buff the low tier killers.

i mean the early game collapse could be based on hits or something around that so it would be as bad on nurse since she can get hits pretty fast

scoott jund sums it up pretty well in his vid about it

  • @Mooks said:

as far as I can remember they first mentioned it in the 4th year anniversary - so not even a year ago.

last dev Q&A they have said that this concept has developed to a concept that’s not only affecting early game but the whole game.

i would assume they will talk about this in the next anniversary stream

i think i remember the devs talking about around the 3rd year anniversary but maybe I'm wrong

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

It wasn’t just because of data Freddy was literally to easy to play and his forever addons were so boring and cheap.

I know he was boring to play against but they didn’t ner for that reason they nerf him because he was oVeRPeRfOrmInG

remeber who else overpreformed billy and did he need a nerf not at all but his addons did

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2113007#Comment_2113007

That's exactly why it is on successful attacks. not hard to hit with victor and you really really need to screw up to miss.

I guess your right but this nerf if it is intended will hurt the twins so much

I would rather a nerf to where victor changers slower like 12 to 15 sec

  • Blueberry I hope so because I can hit most of my pounce hits

  • tbh I would rather have MISS attacks to have a longer cool downs since I can hit almost all of my pounces

  • Neat I like them all

  • i mean there is so many variables to the game it’s really hard to tell because let’s the perfect killer Is nurse but she get Leary’s, the perfect team would just take advantage of the los but maybe the nurse has range AddOns so she Can basically block arcos the map with one blink

the game has to much rng to tell who would win but if the rng was vary minimal then the perfect survivor team would win since a swf is way stronger then a killer

  • Idk how they made a map miserable for both survivors and killers

they have to decrease the pallet counts and add a code where a breakable walls Mae dead ends

  • I feel like a good bug for audodidact would be a increase skill check chance currently it’s there is a 8 % per second for a skill check so maybe increase the percentage by like 10 % 15 %

  • Ya i can’t play a game at all it keeps making my killer invisible too out of no where

    I hope they fix it

  • I was thing maybe they should give her own chase music but when she phases her chase music sounds different
