Cool you can also get it delivered next day, just will cost you extra.

But again, it's there and it's available, and even if it wasn't the comparison still wouldn't work because real goods and services have an opportunity cost of production that digital goods lack.

Still want it now not tomorrow, you also picked an example that is in season right now. The person I responded to was specifically making reference to not being able to buy something immeadiately when they want it.

So just for you I will come up with an example that can apply without physical goods.

Your friend goes to see a movie in theaters and he tells you about it. You think the movie sounds great and wanna buy it, because your friend was at the last showing in the theater but you cant because you have to wait until its available.

Once upon a time that practice made sense because theaters used film reels and they needed to be converted for home usage and for people to buy physical copies.

However since almost all theaters now get movies digitally why do you have wait? Will you still want it in multiple months when it is available for purchase.

i can find it online for £1.59 with just about £4 postage + packaging.

that argument fails to work when comparing real goods to digital goods, because real goods have an opportunity cost of production while digital goods have no limit to supply.

But I want it now not in 2-3 business days.

you assume you are doing anything. That's wrong assumption. As I said. Stand in front of hook. Wait for killer to M1 you. Right at the moment killer M1's you, start sabotage (you can do that literally at the same moment you get hit. There's no delay). Anyway even this does not make any difference. You will still see quite a chunk of sabo progress missing before you get hit again.

It happens on gens and unhooks too though, there is a pause after you get hit before you can actually start doing an action.

What if... you want to spend money but the thing you want to spend money on isn't available until 10 months later?

Will you still want to spend money by then?

In that case you can use your money on something else or save it and buy it when its available.

It's like when McDonalds removed the McRib, and everyone was going to boycott them, and then no one did, and then any time the McRib is available people go nuts for it.

If the McRib is too old of a reference feel free to substitute whatever limited time fast food option you want, the KFC doubledown, the Wendy's bacon mushroom melt, or heck look at egg nog, i can never find egg nog in july we should all boycott all grocery stores until they offer egg nog in july, who's wth me?

Once again. No. You are waiting under the hook for that hit to start sabo fully expecting to get hit - it will 100% not take 0.2s to react to it - you would never hit any skillcheck if this was the case. And also before update 6.1 I finished sabotage EXACTLY at the same moment as I got second hit - but that was 3s vs 3s.

Also keep in mind that for killer it's also not exactly 2.7s, because he needs to make SAME reaction with hitting M1 after his hit CD finishes.

So again. I am 100% sure sabotage with perk saboteur is not 2500ms but 3000ms. And again - friend of mine MEASURED IT frame by frame.

I would be very interested in seeing that test, but regardless when you get hit and it interrupts an action whether it be sabo, working on a gen, doing an unhook, etc. there is a pause before you are able to resume performing said action.

I've had it happen every single time, so even assuming a 2.5sec time for the sabo was accurate you still wouldnt be able to do it in time.

I added the game to my library when it was free on PS monthly many years ago and only started playing it last year I started buying the DLC after a month or so and moving on to a new killer the game is now on PS extra I am on PS essential that means me paying another 40 quid to play it again or I can buy the game currently at 25 quid.

No I am not banned just locked out on the monthly games I have added over the years.

They have all moved up to another tier and this is not fair having to fork out more cash.

This might be better served on the playstation forumn since its a playstation issue not a DBD issue

    You don't understand.

The issue is if there is a discount advertised when there is no other way to obtain said item

If I buy something that is advertised at 10% off, but there is no way for me to buy the item/items at a non-discounted price or separately (as is the case with multiple cosmetic sets), then it is not a discount. Get it?

Why would you want to pay full price and not get 10% off? That doesnt make any sense.

This also happens with games, after a while they come out with a game of the year/enhanced edition, and then eventually stop selling the base game so the only version of the game available for purchase is the super version that comes with the dlc.

Another example would be like lego sets, if you want a lego character lets say freddy krueger, you cant just buy lego freddy krueger, you have to get the freddy krueger lego set that comes with him and his basement.

Can you maybe give me an example of a non liscensed linked cosmetic to help with understanding your point?

Also with an in-game cosmetic are you suggesting they need to be listed in an out of game source like you should be able to buy them thru steam instead of in-game? Or is the issue just with the fact that they are all tied as one skin?

Edit: I would also love to see a link to this law.

I have been trying to work on my tome challenges, and I've noticed many times that the progress is tracked incorrectly. There are many games where the progress is not tracked at all, and I've had a couple of rare instances where I was gifted progress that was undeserved. An example was getting a kill counted on someone even though I let them go through hatch. Edit: Included screenshot after PH game where I exceeded the objective for a challenge yet gained no progress.

Theres a bugbwhere challenges selected in a previous session dont track when you start up the game, and you need to select a different challenge and then reselect the one you want to be working on.

I started doing this every time I boot up or change from survivor to killer and havent had issues since.

"Just don't buy them" is a piss-poor attitude, as it puts the blame on the consumer. It's much like any of the other crap people say in this game. Getting genrushed? Getting tunnelled? Just play better. It's not the players' fault or responsibility to compensate for predatory business practices, especially when BHVR is already potentially breaking the law with their fake-discount crap for linked cosmetic sets (It's illegal to portray an item as having a "discount" when there is no other way to obtain it without said discount, making it artificial).

Wouldnt that in essence make all sales against the law, why would you wanna pay full price if there is a discount.

If the issue is just in reference to linked cosmetics, are there linked cosmetics that arent licensed? Pretty sure the licenses are done in a way that if they werent linked there just wouldnt be extra cosmetics on thise chatacters at all.

  • @Audiophile said:

…have no basis for believing they’re good killers.

Good/Great killers are great at map pressure and chase. They know where to go, they keep chases short and they hook and move on until they’ve won. Those 4ks are deserved. When I lose to a trapper or demo or some middle to low tier killer with a decent team because they KNEW how to play, I’m impressed. These are Type A Killers.

But i estimate 50-75% of killers mostly proxy camp so the survivors come to them and they get cheap hits and can also tunnel if they want. They basically use a flaw in the game’s design to play a bastardized version of the game that gets them fairly easy 3-4ks. These are Type B Killers.

Both types get tons of 4ks. But if you take away the ability to camp and tunnel, Type A killers still destroy and 4k. Type B killers are lost

My point here in spelling this out is twofold.

    1) I think Type B killers, because they get so much success, believe they are great at the game and so don’t bother trying to become Type A killers. I’m clarifying that they’re not. If they want to be great at the game they have to be able to win without falling back on camping and tunnelling for the majority of their play.

    2) Type B killers are also a driving force of survivor quitting. People don’t want to play the bastardized “try to save your friends being guarded at the hook” version of the game. They want to play the game as it is intended to be played. So when they see the camping and tunnelling start they leave.

And just to be clear, I’m not responding to non constructive responses. If you disagree, clearly advance your point with logic.

So what type would it be when you hook, kick a gen, kick a pallet and then go back to the hook because the unhook happens before they really get a chance to leave the area completely?

  • @Gandor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3282799#Comment_3282799

Yes it's impossible to sabo in time. The reason is, because description of this perk is wrong (and I gave feedback about this one already). It takes 3s to sabotage hook with this perk alone (no leader or any other perk that speeds/slows down the progress). If it was 2.5s as is in description, you would be able to sabotage hook right after hit, because hit cooldown is 2.7s (and this would also become major buff to the perk).

I dont think that is the issue, I think there is like a 0.5 sec block from doing any action when you get hit, i notice on gens and unhooks as well the only difference being the unhook takes less time so you can still do it after taking a hit

  • @spoopy_xd said:

I personally dislike the way sabo is set up.

    Saboteur: Jake Park

Unlocks the potential in one’s aura reading ability.

-See hook auras in a 56 meter radius from the pickup spot if a survivor is being carried. Scourge hooks are shown in yellow.

-Unlocks the ability to sabotage hooks without a toolbox.

-Sabotaging a hook without a toolbox takes 2.5 seconds.

-The sabotage action has a 60 second cooldown.

I run this with most of my builds, I love any aura reading ability/info perk. My issue with sabo is how if you’re hit, you go to heal someone and you accidentally sabo a hook (console issues), etc, and you don’t finish the sabo: you still have the 60 second cooldown.

What my idea is: make it like Yui Kimura’s “any means necessary”, but with tokens.

So hear me out, I think sabo should be based off of tokens that you gain by either completing certain progress on generators, say 10% or 20% you get one token, or any of the following:

    -Preform a safe hook rescue

-Take a hit to protect a survivor

-Rescue a survivor by stunning the killer with a pallet

-Rescue a survivor by blinding the killer with a flashlight/flashbang

And let’s say we’d have a max of 5 tokens, when you go to sabo a hook and you get hit, it would cancel the animation, consuming one of your tokens, but you can try again without a toolbox! The tokens serve as a purpose to not be able to spam it and never let the killer hook anyone; just as with any means necessary the killer can interrupt it by breaking the pallet.

PSA: I just made this account so any feedback or tips would be very nice; were there too many words? Did I get my point across? Is this a good idea? Tweaks for my idea?

There are 2 issues with the solution you propose.

    1. This is a huge nerf to the perk, being able to use sabo early and delay the earlier hooks is essential in terms of being able to deny pressure and keep the game at 4 survivors as long as possible, not too mention if the first person hook suicides and your unable to get any tokens until its too late for them to be effective.

The ability to sabo is also very situational already as you have to be within range of where the person went down to even attempt the action.

    2. This change would allow you to potentially start saboing one hook and if the killer sees you and starts going to another hook, you can potentially cut your sabo short sprint burst to the next hook and get the sabo off there.

Since even being in the act of the sabo action blocks the killer from being able to hook and some open hooks can be taken out from the back side making it almost impossible for the killer to contest the sabo.

As to the original complaint of the cool down when you acidentally start a sabo, the easiest solution is after an unhook when someone crouches requesting a heal wave them to you away from the hook. If the killer hits you and interrupts you its basically too late, if you dont believe me try it crouch and fake the sabo and then try the sabo after taking a hit, its almost possible to get that sabo without a toolbox to increase your speed.

The main problem is any info given to solo's is also more info given to SWF. There will always be that imbalance.

It depends if it reflects basic info that swf can already do easily then it doesnt really matter.

Status Icons and basic ping communication are a good example. It takes nothing to communicate things like "I'm on a gen" or "I'm being chased" or "Going for unhook" in a swf thats all pratically readily available info that would be fine for solo q to get.

The only benefit that info would have for a swf is we would have a little more time to talk about fantasy football during the match instead of having to say that stuff in chat.

This is much less of a balance suggestion and far more of a QoL suggestion, but it'd be really cool if active boon totems didn't ping Small Game. Not a single hook in the entire game? You can't be serious. I've never seen that happen, even bully SWFs get hooked at some point. And still the only penalty I suggest is that if you get 0 hooks then you get no XP. That is not a serious penalty considering it happens like once in a million games. Let alone the chance of getting 0 hooks multiple times in a row.

I mean there are alot of factors that go into it, but yeah Saturday night I had a string of 6 straight games without a hook before I shut the game down for the night.

I will preface this with the fact that at killer I'm pretty average, not great at mindgames, but I have a couple. I also almost never play the same killer multiple games in a row, so my MMR shouldnt be super high on any specific killer.

In my area when the clock rolls to about 1 am there is a major shift in matchmaking and I constantly get matched with high skill high prestige survivors.

In this particular instance the first 3 were definite full or at least partial SWF, a boilover squad on springwood with a shack basement offering, a breakdown sabo squad on mothers dwelling with hook spread offerings, and a full on streamer genrush squad.

The last 3 it was probably partly frustration mistakes, partly bad rng (fat shaming spots and stuff), decently efficient survivors at minimum, and some staying in one chase too long, or giving up on some too early, idk at that point my memory is a little fuzzy.

Point is depending on when Im playing and what matchmaking gives me especially at the later hours it isnt uncommon to have a 2-3 game stretch where i get the shaft and dont get hooks

I'm actually just so happy that other people are encountering them too, cause I felt like I was going crazy!

Yes, I read that it's a code thing they install and was thinking how the devil it doesn't get noticed... like what! It's so friggen annoying and a waste of time cause you can't DC and when you eventually do you just end up in countless more lobbies with more BP farming bots. My question would also be, why farm BPs when you're never gonna actually play the game, as I have come across multiple of the same accounts with the same names and same patterns. Some of them even write "Thnx" in end game chat, I'm remembering a Pinhead specifically, although the majority choses the doctor.

My ping is very high, I mean I just play for fun, but it's manageable, like I don't jump across the map or anything. Maybe just recently some times, cause there has been a lot of server issues all over the world and a lot of players have reported jumping the last couple of months.

Not making excuses, just clarifying, and I'm on console so I dont do it and couldnt do it anyways.

They are more farming shards and rift xp rather than bloodpoints, and they probably run the script while they are sleeping/at work so its not that they never play the game. The higher end cosmetics are ridiculously overpriced at over 25k shards that is a crapload of grinding, and I can understand why it happens, even though in an ideal world it wouldnt.

    @ImNotBobDylan said:

I doubt BHVR is aware, and if they are then they clearly don't care, these bots have been there since the beginning of the game. The script they use is literally available on github, it's a super dumb script, basically it just moves the mouse to where the "Ready" button is and clicks it every 10 seconds. That way it can permanently requeue. So in-game you will see the bot do random attacks every 10 sec, in reality it is not even trying to play, just trying to navigate the menu.

This script is literally 30 lines of basic Python code and yet cannot seemingly be detected by a multi-million dollar company, lol... They could put a simple check where if a killer has 0 hooks 0 kills for a game, then he's been farming and should at least not get xp/MMR for that game. If he does it multiple times then he should get auto-banned. But instead, BHVR asks individual players to report them, so that after you have wasted 10 min doing gens, you can also waste 5 minutes filing a report that will never be read. There are farmer accounts with thousands of hours doing this, streamers often meet them when doing the "Hardcore Survivor" series, they report them, and then nothing happens.

You cant just punish a killer for getting 0 hook 0 kill games, that is way too broad of a scenario. Matchmaking is completely janky alot of the times, I have had plenty of games where I get matched against survivor way outside my level and will finish a match with no hooks because after playing the first half and losing most gens and getting denied hooks, I'll give up and afk and wait for the match to be over because that is a more efficient use of my time.

  • @Coriander said:

Why can't the Killer see how many hooks each player has, like the Survivors can? This would help in spreading out the hooks instead of getting the same character model a second time. Also, with headphones, a sacrifice is absolutely outrageous. You can't hear a thing; not skill checks, not terror radius, heartbeat, screams, anything. Can we get this reduced? It's like going deaf.

Ironically enough showing the hook states for some people would help them not tunnel and for others would help them tunnel better

  • @barsw said:

They need to fix this, afk killers who constantly go afk need to be banned, they are ruining the experience for me and other players, at this point i just stay in my phone waiting until i get a match where the killer is finnaly not afk

She's unplayable in her current state and needs work, why won't devs listen to people? And why do they think she's balanced when her kill rate is only low because likely 60-70% of her rounds have DC's so aren't included? Thanks, I didn't actually realize this. I thought 4k was Merciless Killer and I have a ton of killer adepts already. I have always gotten it on the first attempt where I got a 4k. I suspect I didn't get Merciless and didn't notice. Just tried again, got a 4K and didn't get Merciless Killer, didn't get the achievement. Thanks!

What an unnecessarily difficult and confusing system! I have gotten two survivor adepts in matches with AFK killers, and here I am with multiple 4K attempts on this guy and was just 1 pip shy from max score and didn't get it. Eesh.

For merciless killer you have to play into the emblem system the requirements get harder as you rank up

The Emblem System, also just referred to as "Emblems", is a Ranking Game Mechanic used to determine a Player's Grade. It was originally introduced with Patch 1.9.4. Before Grades were implemented with Patch 5.2.0, Emblems played an integral role in Dead by Daylight's matchmaking system for ranked Trials, as it determined a Player's Rank and thereby how they would be matched.Since reworking Ranks into Grades, the Emblem System no longer determine one's matchmaking scoring and merely track successf

this link walks you through the emblem system and the requirements to achieve the merciless killer rank.

I am playing on PC using the Steam client. I just completed the Adept Ghost Face achievement, but the achievement did not apply in Steam. I sacrificed 3 survivors and mori-ed the last survivor with a yellow mori.

Here is a screenshot of the endgame screen.

Here is my current Steam Achievements, with Adept Ghost Face not applied.

When the achievement didn't pop up at the end of the game, I went back to the home screen, waited a few minutes, then exited both Dead By Daylight and Steam. After re-starting both Steam and the Dead By Daylight, the achievement still did not apply.

You screenshotted the wrong screen a 4k doesnt mean you got Merciless killer.

I understand some people have a bad connection and dc because the wind blew in their dirrection....but... this needs a fix.

So what ever is an acceptable amount of dc per month per player after that acceptable number....(this will be determined by the devs) anyone who does dc after that should incur a blood point debt say 30k. then take that 30 and give it to the remaining players that didnt dc.

now the next match that player who incurred the debt must pay that before earning anymore blood points. so if they do really well in their next match it would be paid off in a single match. At the first of the month the acceptable amount of dc number resets but the debt never does...

    Problem solved... your welcome...

Except those players already dont care about bloodpoints

They aren't being rewarded though lol

I'm just saying how it would hardly matter anyway and some people might actually get falsely identified as having letting themselves die thanks to a tunneling killer or bad teammates

Look at it this way, your climbing and trying to pip your way to iridescent 1, and you get hooked and see that your teammates are potatoes, many people are still gonna play and try to at least safety pip. If you remove the depip entirely there is no penalty in just hook suiciding every match until you get a start you like.

If instead you lower the safety pip requirement to as asn example the silver rank level, there is still a decent chance that someone who gets hooked once and lets go immediately will depip but even against a tunneling killer or with bad teammates a safety pip isnt that hard to get.

No one ever complains about depips when they are in silver, only when it gets harder to pip in gold or iridescent.

Removing the depip would just amplify the issue of hook suicides, just like removing the dc penalty always leads to more dc's.

That is why a lower requirement to safety pip is better than removing the depip

I'm pretty sure people that DC or suicide on hook hardly care about their pips or don't have any anyways

While you are probably mostly right, they still dont deserve to be rewarded the same as people actually playing the game.

    Howdy, denizens of the Fog!

I'm here to beg for a solution to a persistent problem involving console keybinds overlapping inappropriately.

In this instance, specifically with regards to playing survivor against Pinhead. Chains are often used at pallets, resulting in a case where the player attempts to remove chains using R1 (PS4/5), a keybind which overlaps with R1 to vault pallet. This very frequently results in players slow vaulting directly into a grab/free hit.

This is an issue which also occurs in other overlapping scenarios, with players attempting to heal a player on a pallet, instead throwing it unintentionally. I ask the devs to please look into a solution, as it is incredibly frustrating to encounter, and occurs far more often than it should. It should also be noted that this is not an issue that PC survivors encounter. Thanks!

There are two things bound to the same button, Actions and Interactions all you need to do is rebind one of them. Personally I moved my Vault to the square button.

I apologize for the title coming off kind of rant like again.I was just wondering if the block button could be changed or reworked in some way? By which I mean I keep running into people I block. Well sometimes I don’t pay attention who is in the lobby.I know I should be paying attention so that I can dodge them.

But I don’t want to keep dodging since my que times have been insanely long lately due to the Ghostface Tome. I also know it’s helps the player base and I understand that. I know others have mentioned about this issue of mine. So could it be possible for people like me not to play with people I block and they also block?

Thank you for reading my feedback. I hope to see you all in the fog . I also hope you all have a great weekend too.

Blocking only blocks communication not matchmaking

what if im rarely the last one standing though? 😂

You must be in a decent MMR bracket to have decent teammats that dont just kill themselves on hook everygame

yeah i alredy imagined since its tome 2. Still i wanted to check by if there is some other way for it, i guess only thing would be get together with my friends, try to get exit gates powered and inform them to not bother over me, so i can wait for the killer to close hatch, assuming im too at the exit gate only to open it and escape once everyone is safe. Which also sounds like hella lot of effort for 30k XD

Bring a key and a hatch offering, play safe so your the last one standing if your team is gonna lose, wait for killer to close hatch, then open with key and escape. Easy peasy.

You can't forget that it should also deactivate when unhooked

Im just saying decisive strike shouldnt protect you if you are going for a flashlight save or bodyblocking the killer when they are obviously not tunnelling you. If you object to that then you arent trying to get it buffed for tunnelling protection you just wanna be able to use it as a get out of jail free card, which it is fine for already.
