Currently it doesn't seem like anything has changed. I took a break like three days ago and came back last night. I'm a rank 12, got there with Freddy, with whom I have p1. I played some Myers last night though, don't have much experience with him. I still got rank 1-4 survivors but I still got 4ks cause these 1-4 survs were kinda potatoe. Might have just been my luck last night. Other than that nothing was different

Nothing will be different except them saying ranks are just there because and the skill rating they use for MMR is “hidden,” hidden being code word for not actually in the game.

Youll either get totally random matchmaking or it’ll continue as it is with reds against yellows and they’ll claim the results are looking good.

  • What are you looking for people to say, “I felt the games were fair.”

noone is gonna say that even if they are

  • But having it NOT count actually makes it work well with STBFL so not everyone would be in favor.

Also yes pls change the roar timing

  • I think people were hacking cosmetics so I would assume yes

When a lot of matches don’t make it to endgame, NOED isn’t very useful. It’s planning for failure. The other thing is if the killer had a fourth perk they could use throughout the match, they may have performed better.

I have to admit though, if so many of my killer compatriots didn’t bring it, the threat of NOED wouldn’t exist and survivors wouldn’t do bones. Which may be helping my matches.

Yes and no, against a lot of teams three perks is plenty... so having NOED for when you run into the occasional “better team,” isn’t going to hurt you that much. Yes you could have had Brutal strength to break pallets or Pop to regress a couple gens but NOED as insurance is a good fallback

omg he played with a ratio of hitting hatchets of 10% or less, and newbie mistakes like letting last to unhook or tunneling some

one of his worst matches, probably cuz tiredness, he does this for a living

The point is when they posted DOWSEY as a killer ending a game in less than 3 minutes the excuse was “bad survivors.” But when gens go super fast no one wants to admit “meme killer,” and admit no pressure was the reason

Yeah, I think you're right on the money. I used to watch him a lot but I trailed off recently, and he does cry wolf a lot. Problem is, a lot of his wolf-crying is accurate and justified, and that seems to make him confident even when he's clearly wrong, and people take those clearly-his-fault clips and use them to discredit him even more.

It's a pity about his complaining about everything. He used to point out his own mistakes all the time, now it seems he glosses over them more and more. Though, to be fair, most of his temates tend to be on the potato side. It's a bit unreasonable to have multi-minute chases and no popped gens, though that is the usual solo que experience.

Yep, he still has lots of solid points which is what makes it rough. Just a bit too much complaining, a bit too many excuses, a few too many false SWF hit squad assumptions or claims that he’s being stream sniped and hacked.

All of the above happens but not quite as much as he says so people have taken to mocking him.

Also to be clear he’s not the only streamer like this plenty do it, one of my other favorites that I subscribed to was Puppers... until every single time a killer hit him it was because of dedicated servers, he never EVER got outplayed it was always the game’s fault.

Another example of a true thing that someone turned into an overused excuse.

Actually, he plays pretty well rather consistently. Not saying he's the best, but he's solid when he isn't trying to go for 12 hook survivor-rulebook games.

The thing is he goes for those 12 hook, have mercy, play fair games when he sees that the survivors are bad from the start. Heck, the teams he is 12 hooking I could probably 12 hook too, not because I’m good but they are bad... not looking behind, running to dead zones, crouching/hiding during a chase so no one is on gens at all, etc.

The thing is it’s a shame because Tru makes a lot of good points, has a lot of good numbers to throw out, has a great platform, but in the end he ruins it all with the way he presents himself.

I predict that all they're going to do is make the statistics be 50/50 cuz according to the devs they can predict whether some1 is going to win or lose fairly well. It's hard to figure out actual skill and how that correlates to the otherside's skill. The best thing to do is just force matches to be 50/50 in a non noticeable way. U just have to make the players feel psychologically happy.

When you say 50:50 you think all games will end up being 2 kill 2 escape, because that’s what I kept picturing when I was reading this and listening to Paulie Ewsther read it as well.

He’s above average, pretty good but far from the best. I honestly think he’s getting worse because he’s starting to burn out and just get frustrated and make excuses right from the get go.

See my above post, I’ve watched him and subscribed to his twitch for a long time before I finally started to see all of this. He’s changed over time and not for the better IMO.

  • @MadLordJack said:

I love how people deliberately choose bad examples whenever they go after Tru3. Last stream I watched, he was going on about gen speeds the whole time. He had a few matches where he complained as he was doing bad, and a few matches where he complained while he was doing good and just getting hammered by gen speeds, and a few matches of survivor where he and his random teammates were likewise hammering out gens, and a few matches where his teammate's were potatoes and he potatoes just as hard.

The point I'm trying to make is that Tur3 is all over the bloody place. You could cherry pick matches that proves he's a complete moron diluting serious arguments, or you could cherry pick matches that proves he's right on the money and all of his comments are the truth. Neither are accurate. And honestly, neither take away the points he tries to make. Just because a build is awful doesn't mean it's okay for gens to go that quick, given that survivors can go into matches with awful builds and escape with relative ease so long as they work together.

The problem is Tru is the boy who cried wolf. I subscribed to his twitch and watched pretty regularly for over a year so I feel confident that I have a good view and not just a cherry picked one.

Basically every game he loses is because of SWF who use broken perks... but when given the chance to use his own survivor build it always includes DS and DH, two perks he complains about as killer.

Also the majority of his survivor games he implies or flat out states that his team is potato and he is carrying the whole squad.

Everybody knows that lightning fast gens are signs of a 3-4 man swf. Its very rare that solos or 2 man get the gens done this fast. They just don’t have the co-ordination.

Large swf groups are the problem.

I disagree. I play solo and have had plenty of games were the first chase lasts wayyy too long, the other 3 played literally have nothing to do other than pound out gens and so the first 3-4 or even 5 gens all go super fast.

Yes, “just pressure gens,” is overused and gen speed is too fast... but this game isn’t an indication of anything but meme play

Played one game today and got 4 people same language. 100% swf ratio today, plz nerf lol

I agree, killers just use SWF as an excuse for losing. I know because I’ve done it before, I’ve seen streamers do it numerous times.

If anything I would say the majority of SWF I go agajnst are EASIER to go against than solo players. They tend to waste so much time hovering together to get flashlight saves or pallet saves, you can bait them for free hits over and over.

They also won’t leave even one person behind, often turning 1 kill games into 4 kill games

if you are experienced killer its very easy to know if someone is a swf just by seeing how coordinated they are

Killers take this way too far, and I say that as someone who plays 50/50 killer and SOLO survivor only.

I routinely have killers comment, “nice SWF,” simply because we make a BT save during end game and then run a body blocking train out the door robbing him of his one camping/tunneling kill.

Nope sorry not SWF, but when you literally stand next to the hook for a minute you give the three randoms plenty of time to heal up and all head in for a save.

It's not exactly what you think it might be. I'm not complaining about anything, but it's just an idea you know I don't tend to mean any harm or make anyone upset 😰

I read it, and again don’t be greedy. You just hit a 1/25 chance to unhook, in some games that can be hugely game swinging...

  • You’re already winning a 4% lotto just to unhook, be happy with that

  • @adsads123123123123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1456176#Comment_1456176

Well realistically, you are not going to get 10 hits on healthy survivors that results in heals. 6-7 is a more realistic amount. Let's say on average killer gets 2 kills, so that is 6 hooks at minimum. You would get on average 6 Pop Goes the Weasels.

Yep, Pop is good I just think for my second slowdown perk I go with Sloppy and I usually do run 2. Sometimes I do 3 with pop, surge and sloppy or 3 with ruin and sloppy.

  • @adsads123123123123 said:

No. It takes 16 seconds to heal and 19.2 sec with Sloppy Butcher. This adds 3.2 seconds. This is nothing. Even if you get 10 hits, that is only 32 seconds. Surge or Pop Goes the Weasel would do far more.

Remember though you’re taking TWO survivors out of the game for 3.2 seconds to that’s 6.4 seconds of lost gen time... now if you get 10 hits that’s over a minute so it’s the equivalent of 3 Pops.

Not to mention Pop can sometimes be inconvenient to use, for example you see another survivor right away. And even if you do get to use Pop it takes you a couple seconds to walk to a gen and kick it.

I still think both are great, most of my builds start with BBQ, pip, sloppy and then a fourth Perk depending on killer and mood

  • You have to look at how it adds up throughout the game. Normally it takes me 16 second to heal someone else, with sloppy it takes a lot 20... not a huge deal right? Until you start to realize every single time you hit someone, even if they get away, they are wasting and extra 4 seconds being healed or 8 seconds healing themselves. This turns into minutes during the course of a typical game and that’s pretty impressive for a passive effect you get just by hitting people.

Compare it to pop, popping a gen takes away about 20 seconds of progress and you can only do it max 11 times a game, plus you have to go to the gen and kick it.

They’re both great in different ways. I usually stack them.

I dont see how its any different to before, except replace dc with 1st hook suicide.

In most of my games as killer a survivor will give up on either the 1st of 2nd hook. Its only full swf groups that seem to go through all 3 hooks.

Most likely this is due to how depressing solo survivor has become

True true, but I guess we have to start somewhere. This is the problem with playing with other people, strangers, they have no obligation to your fun.

It reminds me of World of Warcraft, people dropping group if they didn’t get the random dungeon they wanted, or if someone died on first pull. They would leave party and only get like a 15 minute penalty during which they could still do solo questing

  • @AGM said:

A teammate makes a stupid play? Dc.

So many survivors are acting like petulant children. This is why the dc penalty was 100% necessary. Pls fix. Thanks.

I’ve stopped playing until it’s fixed. As survivor I’m sick of constantly being 3 vs 1 the whole game.

As killer it annoys me how you lose so many BP, pip chance and just a lot of the “gameplay,” when two survivors DC right away. Not using OP addons, moris, no camping or tunneling they just quit.

I know people don’t want DC penalties incorrectly affecting people but this makes the game so unfun.

Am I the only one who thinks BHVR's reporting feature is a completely futile endeavor? Is the expectation that everyone is a streamer and records every game they play, just in case there a cheater? Submitting video evidence seems to be a ridiculous requirement. I could understand this being required before we had dedicated servers, but now that we do, how is it possible that the servers themselves cannot keep track of in game actions such as movement speed (the most common hack as far as I can tell), generator completion speeds, players teleporting, spawining of hatch, or beginning of EGC at incorrect times? Shouldn't the dedicated servers be able to record anomalous events like these and if a player flags that game as one with fishy activity, BHVR can use their own logs as proof?

You’re asking for the devs to go through and review the servers and watch the whole game video to see the cheat? Keep in mind how many people submit things that just aren’t cheating.

I played against a no name TTV and watched his stream VOD the next day, I always do to see the game from the other side. I literally saw him type the ticket and report me after the game for “wall hacks,” I was plague with her aura addon.

Reports like that really waste time and a lot of people submit tickets out of spite.

  • @JesterClown said:

I thought it was like tech to go pallet stun into flashlight stun since you would get more time to escape

Yes and no. The killer can still move during the blind so if he hears you or guesses which way you went he won’t lose any more time. In fact the survivor loses a couple seconds that they could have used to make more distance.

Sometimes you can use it to lose a killer though, or if he turns the wrong way you gain some distance. Also some killers will get tilted and play worse because of flashlights, although it’s risky because someone will also face camp solely because they feel flashlights are “toxic.”

  • @Jukenobi said:

Another killer triggered by a flashlight. 😂

No one is triggered, I know a lot of killers (myself included) prefer players who bring flashlights to those who bring medkits or good toolboxes. Half of the players don’t know flahflighr timing, any good killer can avoid blinds when picking up and even fake it for a free hit.

I personally hate going against a killer with Devour. It honestly feels like a cheap perk. SOMETIMES it feels like the killer doesn't have to do much.

To be clear I'm actually someone that does not hate No ed. I embrace it as a killer and a survivor, and honestly it adds another level of terror to the end of the match just like blood warden.

    I hate Devour

At least with No ed we can have all match to do bones but Devour can spring up early in match and completly destroy a team.

It requires the killer to leave the hook and find other survivors to chase, and allow a save to occur.

There’s nothing lazy about that. And all it’s power can be taken away too.

what he said! According to survivors 99% of killers camp so they don’t go far enough away to let Devour even get tokens

Thats pretty much what they want. Good add ons that help his power. Obviously they were gutted because they were a major problem and really boosted average players to dominating with a strong killer like Hillbilly.

I look back to so many games against double charge/cool down Billy and wish I had a chance to play against those players with his changes...

  • @Sir_Bassington said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/172043/billy-players-when-you-say-addons-still-what-are-you-referring-to

Doom and death engravings got nerfed to oblivion with the overheat completely removing mindgames and fun curve "skillbillys", most of his new addons are either useless or just bad, basekit billy is balanced at rank 21 against W gamers that run in a straight line, but good players that nows how to juke billys can easly juke basekit billy or get to windows before going down. I would say spark plug was completely balanced and fair as long as it wasn't stacked with any other movement speed addons, but the only movement speed addon we have now makes billy a 110 killer, and doom gives 7% instead of 20% and death gives 3% instead of 15. so the new crack billy is objectivaly worse than basekit billy. His cooldown addons didn't feel significant and most of his new addons are meme worthy only.

Yes, I think leaving one charge addon would have been great still! In regards to the speed loss ruining curving i would like to see how new hit validation impacts that as well

  • @RedditUser69 said:

I don't see a single post asking for insta or charge speed addons to be returned. Those people, wherever they exist, are dumb.

I don't know what I want them to be, but there has to be something between instasaw and getting a .2 movespeed when a rank 20 tries to blind you in a chase.

That’s why I’m asking, what? Yes a few addons are dumb, even Iri, although I could argue they have niche uses which puts Billy in line with a lot of other killers still. Not every addons has to just increase or improve The base power.

Nope, don't even try that. (And no, camping isn't usually the best play, it's a great way to throw a match for one kill.)

This isn't the killer facecamping someone to be a jerk or something. This isn't a Bubba standing in one spot the entire game.

No, this is a killer with 2 people on nearby hooks, 3 gens left, and only 1 survivor out there. There's no good reason to walk away at that point.

Constantly telling killers that they should give up advantages and cut survivors slack for reasons gets old. Especially since if the survivors got the upper hand for a moment they'd be out the gate in two seconds flat, no matter what the killer thinks.

It reminds me of survivors who literally belittle the killer in chat if he didn’t give the last survivor the hatch. My reply is always the same, “oh if you had opened the gates which 1 of you was letting me have 1 kill?” Hint they answer is no one.

But in the situation above i would want them to get saved. I have one dead with 3 gens to go. I'm clearly in control and want to secure more points in that situation.

Here in lie the two school, camping is the “smart play,” if you’re trying to get kills I guess. But letting them get I hooked and reset is the better play for emblems, BPs and (GASP) a fun drawn out game.

Paired together, or at least VHS ensures if for any reason Clown needs to reload mid chase, the survivor doesn’t gain very much distance.

I guess, but I can count the number of times I’ve had to reload mid chase on one hand. I’d rather have exhaustion, extra slowdown or duration. Honestly rather than reload speed you’re probably better off using extra bottles if that’s an issue you have.

Survivors dont want to admit mistakes hurt them. And killers dont want to admit that even if you do everything perfectly your not ment to win unless survivors alow it

Other 2 doing gens, when i finally hook one guy, which took forever because i cant mind game them. We can see eachothers auras fairly close. Not sure why.

Then they will switch out, heal, and reset and repeat.

Let's be honest, would you really say the survivors played optimally in that video? They certainly didn't mess up nearly as much as some people would probably argue, but they didn't play that well either.

I think the bigger problem is that when people see these videos where the killer gets gen rushed within a few minutes, they don't try to see what the killer could have done better to not get gen rushed as fast. And one of the problems with that is that it's not as easy to judge if a killer applied map pressure well or not, since that's something you can't get much feedback on. But of course many people also sadly just ignore mistakes made by the killer when it comes to those gen rush videos as well.

Also, I would argue that Oni's slugging potential is a bit too powerful anyways.

The other problem is that most of the videos aren’t “five gens done in five minutes,” which is sooo sooo sooo rare.

People post videos of “first gen done in 20 seconds,” or “two gens done in a minute,” and ignore the fact that no more gens ever get done.

Both sides tend to give up too easily, killers feel defeated the moment the first gen gets popped too quickly. Survivors give up and either DC or die on first hook because they got found first

I'm terrified that they're going to add some limit to his cloak for some BS reason. I wouldn't mind seeing the red cooldown bar if it's a buff to Wraith (like with Doc and Bubba).

if they add a cool down to his cloak AND make him really invisible and remove the shimmer that would be freaking epic

Wraith isn't getting touched. They have no reason to. He isn't triple s tier, but he's still a threat by good players.

Huntress on the otherhand is definitely getting another pink, and they'll probably do something to irredescent hatchets. Other than 1 hit hatchets, she's a fair killer.

That’s the worry, all that NEEDS to and SHOULD happen is Iri need and a second pink addon... what BHVR will actually do is the concern

now that DC penalty have been removed on PC, the issue just get bigger.

If you do it over and over again can’t you still get reported? Or are those bans gone too? I wondered because at least 1 person DCs every game

My thoughts exactly! I know I could probably be more efficient by faking the power to get basic hits all the time but that's just one hell of a boring playstyle so I go for risky shots as often as possible.

Of course i play huntress the same, I know sometimes it’s “best,” to just do a melee M2 into M1 combo and down someone in 5 seconds but I have FUN throwing hatchets all over the place.

I usually use double extra hatchets as well, not to be sweaty but because throwing 8 hatchets all over, guessing which side of a gen they’re working on, taking cross map shots with BBQ is just too much fun!

Damn I must be the worst Pyramid Head in the world then because I spam Punishment of the Damned whenever I feel like I can predict their movements (particularly without line of sight/behind walls).

I screw around with it all the time, who cares if I miss and even if (GASP) I lose a game for wasting time... I wanna have fun!!!

sweet shots though I know it feels so good to hit when you can’t see

"If everyone spawns on a separate generator on a big map (Midwich for instance) and immediately starts repairing instead of derping around doing nothing then the killer WILL lose 3 gens after the first chase IF the first chased survivor merely knows the BASICS about looping."

I'm sorry, no. First of all, survivors never each spawn on a separate generator on a big map, even with the offering to spawn separately. They're going to need to spend a good amount of time running around to all find separate gens, and even finding the gens on maps like Midwich can be difficult. Plus, perks like CI are used heavily at high rank, so this is even less likely in practice.

Still, it takes roughly 80 seconds to solo a gen. Even if there's hypothetically one survivor on four gens right from the start, it should be very easy to find a survivor and start a chase. If it takes a killer more than a minute to down and hook that first survivor and they apply zero pressure to the other suvivors during the chase, that's just the killer being outplayed and they deserve to lose gens.

I think gen speed is too fast but I agree with this even as a killer.

I have had constant games lately where a killer literally spends the first two minutes of the game on one survivor and finally hooks him as 3 gens pop. Then he complains about gen rushing in post game chat... uhm you literally were not near any of the 3 of us what were we supposed to do?

Ive also had killers chase me past a gen that two players were working on and ignore them... uhm ok

Well ye if all survivors just ran at the oni then they'll die they can just wait out his power or loop him. What could've otz done in that gen video to avoid it? Spawn on the gen?

Except Otz still won his game, the survivors blew their load on one gen and never got another done I believe that game correct?

It would be like a GF instantly gen grabbing someone and hooking them and then never catching anyone the rest of the game.
