Again, everyone is thinking about survivors.
Survivors won't like it, they'll take it too hard.
What about the killer community? Why can't we have a say in it?
I'm saying that because of killer. But okay...?
-
He's a good killer. Things about him go unnoticed. He's not as good as Huntress but he's a good killer when utilized correctly.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/139198/gen-speeds-arent-the-issue-maps-are
I say tis all the time. If maps sizes and strong loops and windows are fixed, killers could down survivors more easily, and as a consequence of that, gen speeds will go down.
I don't want 2 minutes gens, or 20 minutes matches, I want 10 minutes matches where I can apply pressure without being sweaty.
I entirely agree. Maps are such a massive issue right now. If you were to fix them, the balance of the game would be so much better. I don't think it's good to just slap on an extra 10 seconds per gen and call it a day. That won't help killers with low mobility on huge maps all that much. If you were to increase gen time alone as well, you'd have games where you play a Billy on maps like Coal Tower, which would be a problem. At the end of the day, I really think map changes are the one solution that will really tackle every issue and most situations presented.

For now, it's an absolute yes to console. As for console-PC, I'd leave that out until we actually level the playing field and not have console at such a massive disadvantage to PC.

His TR sounds much louder after the recent patch. It's actually discernable at 24M rather than like 16. Learn how to dodge his harpoon and you'll do fine against him.

NOED and Adrenaline are both fine. They both have their ways around them.

The game was survivor sided for 3 years. Only recently did it become more balanced for both sides.

Moris are absurdly strong. There's no denying that and keys are the most broken elements of the game.

Doctor still has counter play. Although it isn't obvious, it's still there. He definitely is nowhere near as boring as Freddy.

@Coder said:
What is a killer or survivor sided map anyway? Does it depend on each player experience? I'm pretty sure it depends on the killer you play (nurse and trapper work well on some maps and not so well on others). Some people say Azarov's Resting Place is survivor sided because as killer you have 2 "zones" on each side of the map to protect, while others think it's killer sided since it's easy to 3-gen to (maybe) win.
In MY opinion, it depends on how many strong resources survivors have to make it harder for the killer to catch you or to make him waste time (strong windows, shack, strong loops/jungle gyms, size, etc...), and by default I believe old maps (autohaven/mcmillan) are more survivor sided (or badly designed) since the Devs haven't reworked them that much, and I believe new maps (the new Lery's, Yamaoka, Hawkins) are more balanced, since, with experience, the Devs are doing a better job designing them.
They don't have to be TOO survivor or killer sided, maybe just slightest.
Survivor sided maps for me (again, it's apparently a matter of opinion and experience):
-Crotus Prenn (2 strong windows)
-Blood lodge (pallet city, god bus and a semi strong window)
-Ironworks (that window man, just nerf it already...)
Slightly survivor sided:
-The rest of the Mcmillan/autohaven (most of them have strong windows, strong jungle gyms, shack, god bus)
-Father Campbell's chapel
-Both Red Forest (though I like M.D. as killer)
Balanced or maybe slightly killer sided:
-The Game
-Hawkins
-The new Lery's
That doesn't mean that I haven't run the killer for 3 or more gens at The Game or that I have never 4kd in Blood Lodge, it's just a discussion about the map balance. What's your opinion?
PS: Also, don't be entitled, don't "you nub, I can't believe you think that map is killer/survivor sided, I know better!", respect opinions. :-)
Most Azarov's are pretty well balanced, God windows aside. Same goes for MacMillian. I definitely would say Father Campbell's Chapel is the most balanced out of any map.
-
Yeah. I tried doing them for the challenged and noticed theyre completely busted.

NERF.
Currently: Huntress is 110%, Deathslinger is 115%
Huntress has to reload and can't just keep firing harpoons like DSlinger. it's difficult to break chase when Dslinger never has to break off to reload. He either spears you or gets closer while the survivor is taking evasive action (not running directly away) then M1. He never has to break off.
Deathslinger is 110.

@ThickLaquisha said:
an opinion of mine
I feel like deathslinger shouldn't be able to quickscope, instead have like a slower aiming time. there's no way you can dodge a really good deathslinger's shot (which by now is most of the people playing him in games right now since he's being hyped), once they hit m2 it's over, especially with the new map, which has a lot of dead ends and really weak obstacles to get pulled around anyway. like around 1 ish second(s) of aiming time would allow the survivors to at least try dodging his shots.
to balance that perhaps he should get a movement speed increase to compensate for the second(s) of aiming time, and maybe a stronger chain, but he is a range killer like someone said and take nurse for example, she is the slowest killer in the game but uses her blink's range to get to survivors quickly.
overall he's a decent killer, his main power is overall weak when it come to pressure, but if you're up with a professional-dedicated their life to-deathslinger then you're going to struggle with the quickscopes. he does shut down loops pretty well, which is a plus and something lots of people are adapting to, but it kind of seems a little too good when in chase to just be able to quick scope someone. if he didn't have the aim option, then it just seems more fair to let him shoot instantly since theres not that much surgical precision going into his shot. if that were the situation, then hitboxes should be enlarged for his spear to make a big enough difference. take huntress for example: she doesn't have any "aim down sights" option to better her shots.
anyways i hope the new map's unsafe routes get fixed. (ps, some totem spots are absolutely godly for the killers! i walked by a devour hope totem at least 10 times because it was hidden behind a bush in a little crack under the saloon. lmao, i'm just blind)
Quickscoping is one of the few things that makes him an alright killer. You take that away and he is absolute garbage.

Hoo boy. If you thought Huntress or Nurse was hard on console, just TRY playing Deathslinger.
Since DBD doesn't have separate x-axis or y-axis sensitivity settings, or controller deadzone settings, or even seperate sensitivity settings for ADS, playing this Killer is the hardest thing in the universe. It's possible, sure, but so, so difficult.
You'd genuinely have to only play Deathslinger for several weeks straight on console to be able to even play somewhat well.
Nurse and Huntress are both worse than Deathslinger on console. I've done actually very well with him. Learning how to accurately quick fire is why I've done so well.
-
I think its fantastic. The new map is one of the most balanced maps they've released in awhile, they fixed certain breakable walls and actually implemented them very well on the map, and added probably one of the most fun killers we've had in awhile. And to top it off Doc and Plague got buffs. I just can't wait for breakable walls to come to other maps honestly.

The amount of people justifying this player and dismissing OP just because he plays with his friends is pathetic.

Well is ironic ot have respect for survivors for that suffering as it is kinda the complaining of survivors that caused the situation of nobody wanting to play killer anymore so survivors are stuck with long loading times.
Kinda what happens if you actively try to weaken the opposition, the opposition will simple stop playing (that side) all together.
Not really. The matchmaking changes that killers wanted implemented are what busted queues so badly. The SWF change make red ranks overly top heavy with survivors and dried up low ranks with survivors.

So is it supposed to be like that?
And my suggestion, just a quick idea:
Make survivors suffer exposed for say 3 seconds if they successfully blinded the killer.
Too OP or good idea? What would you say? I haven't had much exp with flashlights.
No reason to. Flashlights are damn near impossible against any killer with a brain anyway.
To make this even worthwhile, you'd have to make it around 20 seconds. At that point, you'd be basically punished for making a good play. I think the game needs to stop rewarding failure and start rewarding good plays.

No i do not agree, he is not balanced for playing him that's for sure. How do you explain having to set everything up with your portals but now you have the gens+portals+ mayb hex's to protect against 4 people? They can undo the portals at super speed unless you have the slightly slowing addons, even then it's fast. Add-ons again are also a big factor because usually unless you wanna have even harder time you should bring the standard to keep pressure and have a somewhat easier time. Also where do you see anyone playing him? as for me i haven't
You don't know how to actually play him if you think he isn't balanced. The only thing he needs is reduced footsteps. He's an A tier killer if used correctly.

P.S. I really like the legion as characters, but as a killer he is weak :(
P.P.S. Does it not seem to you that the theme that is being raised in the Darkness Among Us trailer is not revealed in the game?
I personally think it's the fun factor he's lacking in the most. I really don't see his power being that fun for either side. As Legion it's stab, run, stab, run, enter 4 second cooldown and play as an M1 killer. As survivor it's just mending simulator.

just wondered about this perk might be too strong.
When ever I encounter it as a killer its jused by a 3-4 man squad.
Coordinated teams can gen rush extremely well with this perk.
On Solo survivor its a bad perk compared to its value in an SWF environment.
So should it be changed to be a perk that benefits both sides equally?
And if yes how could you change it?
As killer I really dislike the usage of this perk. It feels like survivors WANT an m1 simulator. No skill involved, no killer interaction whatsoever.
What do you guys think?
I believe it shaves off like 4 seconds when working with somebody else. I don't really think it's problematic.

What the ######### are you even trying to say?
"4 minute games are a you problem you survivor gamer."
I'm speaking from the standpoint of playing as a killer. I'm saying that if someone plays killer and consistently has 4 minute games, it's likely their fault. That's literally what I've been saying in every comment. Regardless of the fact that you play survivor, this has been my point.
Also, I don't see why you feel the need to be so nasty. Don't understand why you can't just discuss normally.

It's just me. What wisdom, truly with your knowledge I can 4k every game perkless.
Besides I play survivor nowadays buddy.
Yes. You are the problem if it is happening to you pretty often. I understand it happens here and there, but if it's often you need to realize it may be you.
If you're wanting to go in every game perkless and expecting to 4k, I'm not sure what to tell you other than the fact you're putting yourself at a huge disadvantage.
It's no coincidence that these type of games are far and few in between for good players.

Complaining about games being 4 minutes long isn't being outplayed and you know it.
If they're very consistently 4 minutes long that's a you problem buddy. And like I said, killers do complain as much as survivors. Literally anything either side does is complained about. Tbagging, clicking, slugging, camping, perk usage. It's sad.

Killers absolutely complain just as much as survivors do. Both can't learn to take a loss or accept being outplayed.

I get how they're seen. The issue I'm raising is that of being able to counter it. Mori's aren't free, they require the same survivor to be downed multiple times, etc. On the other hand, keys are not only free (the chests just give them to you), and with them multiple survivors can make an escape with the killer having zero chance to do anything about it.
I'm not arguing for either to be in the game, I'm just highlighting the absurdity of crying all the time when the killer has something that survivors perceive to be unfair (which is anything and everything), and insisting that everything the killer does having to have a counter when they don't make the same argument against themselves.
Moris are a one of the few pieces of terrible game design left in DBD. They need to go.

@AvisDeene said:
Get used to it. Killers are a dying breed and the Survivors need to be provided with a victim to bully so the match making will pair up anyone who is available.
I recommend you dodge all lobbies that have even 1 item, bright multicolored clothes, bright hair or quads of the same character, especially blendettes. Don't play weak killers and stick to Spirit or Billy. Play Hag or Bubba for camping potential.
Make the game fun for you, forget about following survivor rules - play how you want, not how they want.
"I recommend you dodge all lobbies that have even 1 item, bright multicolored clothes"

you don't necessarily have to be the obsession, if you don't run any obsession perks then you won't be, also just because you can't do objectives doesn't mean that you're useless, you are supposed to be useful to the team by cleansing totems, opening chests, healing the team which are all buffed, and running the killer around.
This change would almost solely be in favour of killers. You aren't helping your team by opening chests or cleansing totems. Your main objective will go far slower now, and once you run out of either totems or chests, you're almost useless. Not allowing someone to literally do what they're supposed to do would be such a horrible change. The only gen related change that needs to be made is map design. It's the root problem of gen times.
-
@Clockso said:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/028/TR9BLNQAICNX.png
First off, there will always be an obsession, regardless of whether or not the players brought an obsession perk or not.
Nothing too crazy yet, with this change Decisive Strike would possibly be shadow buffed since due to the lack of obsession perks it was easy to tell if at least 1 survivor has the perk, if no one was the obsession then the killer can tunnel all they want knowing that no one is running the perk.
if you run 1 obsession perk then the obsession selection won't be random and will choose you, if you're running 2 obsession perks and someone else is only running 1 obsession perk then the person with 2 obsession perks will be chosen, if a survivor has 3 obsession perks.... you get the idea.
The Obsession will gain passives their 3 teammates can't get.
- Find better items in chests
- Higher Chance to free yourself from the hook
- Gain faster speed while healing and cleansing totems.
- Double Bloodpoints
- Unhook Faster
- 5 Perks, 4 if you aren't the obsession, the way this will work is something similar to this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/735/KXEH4NWVKXRE.png
And much more, but these are the basics, and obsession perks can be reworked accordingly to give the obsession even more passives
Now you might be thinking, so basically the obsession gets massively buffed for no real reason, why would you think it's a good idea?
Well it's all sweet and good until we get to the one ULTIMATE Change.
*The Obsession Cannot Repair Generators*
You passively help your team by giving them better items at chests, you cleanse totems faster to prevent the killer from getting NOED to activate, you don't need to get teammates to unhook you because you can easily free yourself from the hook, basically the team doesn't need to worry about you. and this will massively help with the generator's speed, the killer can't possibly manage to pressure 4 survivors from repairing generators, by the time you end chasing the first survivor 3 or 2 gens can possibly activate, but when only 3 survivors repair generators and the 4th one is doing other stuff then you could possibly manage to apply pressure.
And that is all, i'm eagerly waiting to hear what you guys think.
So, you're telling me I could be placed into a game just to be able to not do my objective? I'm sorry but cancelling someone's ability to do their objective entirely isn't a good solution.

If only the killer didn't have to wait 2 minutes after they give up either 🤣
Don't give up then. You have the option to force them out or find them. Stop complaining about your choices to not exercise an action that you can do. What do you expect them to do after you give up? You're giving them the opportunity to get extra items or points.

They are not looking out for themself. They are directly ignoring their objective becasue they don't have a threat anymore to complete their objective.
The Killer's objective is to kill.
But sure, keep trying to twist what i'm talking about - it's doing you wonders.
What are you on about? You're literally sitting here complaining about the fact that survivors choose to maximize their games when they have the opportunity to do so. Once the main objective is done, they look for side objectives to do when they have the chance. It makes zero sense to do the side objectives before the main objectives.
-

Right because the killer doesn't lose emblem points to
- survivors healing,
- escaping grasp via ds, flashlight stun, pallet stun, bodyblocking, sabotaging hooks, etc.
- staying in close proximity to hooked survivors
What points are you talking about? The BP values that I have already maxed in all catagories, because you get +100 in every bp catagory for doing literally anything from using your power, hitting survivors, or just looking at a survivor?
Yeah no. At the end of a match. I want you to gtfo, or die trying.
Okay? But you were complaining about survivors staying longer than YOU wanted them to. Stop complaining about the other side doing whatever they can to benefit themselves. You're looking out for yourself, so stop whining when survivors do the same. Like I said, they get caught out all the time anyway trying to get themselves extra stuff, so I don't see why there is even a reason to complain. Force them out when you can, or run a tracking perk like Whispers if you want to prevent them from trying to maximize their games.

To play dveil's advocate advocate. The survivors mission should be to survive by any means neccesary not stay to do totems, open chests, bully the killer, or find ways to farm more points. The only resaon I could see you not opening the gate is to go for a save. Nothing else.
Also that's a terrible idea "Just open the gate and force them out". So not only is Killer expected to lose 2 gens in the first couple minutes of the match, but is not expected to be able to win at the end of the match either? The only reason a Killer should ever open the gate is to utilize Blood Warden. Otherwise that's precious time the killer needs to complete their goal. Telling them to "just open the gate and push them out yourself", your basically just telling Killers that survivors are broken, suck it up, and move on.
I'm really surprised a Dev's response to anyone finding EGC to be a problem is "Survivors should ignore their goal, and Killers should give free escapes".
How dare those darn survivors stay longer than you want them to to get extra points, items or even give the killer extra points! If you hate them staying for longer, look around in places where they will be. I've had so many times where a survivor stays longer than they should of and I end up getting a free kill because of it.

A good Billy, because of his curves. They're extremely fun to try to outplay.

You spend 90% of the game pulling yourself out of madness and trying to heal while skill checks are appearing randomly, shaking, and going backwards half the time.
On top of that the perks make the possibility of hitting a skill check extremely difficult.
No other killer causes so much difficulty throughout the match (which is based on skill checks!).
Add to that that he can now stop you from vaulting and see where you are half of the game.
It's unreasonable, skewed, and above all not fun. On top of that the sound effects are extremely annoying. Any child could 4k with the doctor now..

Adrenaline promotes gen rushing at the end game and because it heals you, you can disregard healing to complete the gen.
The reward completely outweighs the risk which is why it's so strong.
Also saying that it rewards you for completing your objective is only half true. The perk isnt that useful if you were the one that completed the objective ie finish the gen. It becomes very powerful if you were the one that is being chased, or got downed or hooked, in these scenarios saying that you were rewarded for completing your objective is a complete lie.
It isn't a lie. Completing generators is your main objective. You get rewarded for completing all of said objective. At the end of the day, the chances of you actually not doing the objective and being rewarded is slim to none. Because at that point, if you aren't contributing to the objective it's basically a 3v1. It's basically just NOED but reversed. Both perks are entirely fine.

Hello,
this is the perfect answer: thank you Queen
"As it was mentioned in the thread by different people, NOED isn't rewarding poor gameplay from Killers:
- Killer has to play the trial with only 3 perks before the doors are activated.
- The perk can be fully deactivated by survivors
- If the killer has no luck in hooking many survivors before the doors are activated, then the survivors should have been able to cleanse totems without feeling pressure, thus, not giving the NOED edge to the killer. It's on them if it activates.
- If survivors allow the killer to get a 4K with NOED in the end game, I would argue that survivors made mistakes during their end game plays or didn't prepare for the potential NOED activation.
Finally, if you don't want to play NOED, it's your prerogative. In my opinion, building a build that is strong in end game isn't rewarding failure, it is using perks for their intended purposes. The purpose of NOED is to give a killer a burst of strength in end game. Since it's effectively strong, survivors have the power to deactivate it, if they focus secondary objectives.
The killer players choosing to play NOED are banking on a burst of strength at the end for the downside of playing with 3 perks the rest of the game and having a chance to have their perk deactivated. It's a high risk, high reward scenario."
Do bones.
;or like i say: DEAL WITH IT !

I would definitely put NOED in the crutch perk category. But, to be fair I don't see problems with it. It is entirely counter able.
